Unfortunately we were unable to use the pool. The advertisement said it was heated, however they turn off the heaters on Labor Day and our stay was the following week.
Staff was courteous, helpful, and went above and beyond to ensure we had everything we needed and were comfortable.

Walked to dinner, bars, and the boat tour docks. Also the diner (separate establishment) just in front of the hotel was a bonus on the mornings. Good food at good price to make everything easy.

We couldn't sleep it was so bad. Aching backs. Some family members also staying it the motel had the same problem, some asked for different rooms. Time to replace the mattresses!

We had a wonderful stay. All areas of the hotel we saw were very clean and the staff was some of the most welcoming and friendly we have encountered. My only suggestion is the fitted sheets do not have deep enough corners. Each morning our bottom sheet was pooled in the middle of the bed, no longer tucked in.

4. Bathroom door is mis-alighed with the frame and does not close.
5. Despite being clean and looking new, the sink surface area is tiny and I had to put all my toiletries on the desk outside of the bathroom.

I love that all rooms are on one level. I love the pool. There is a very nice diner right next door with indoor and outdoor seating. The folks that work there are all very nice and helpful. The coffee was delicious. It was very clean. I felt that the room was kind of small but it served the purpose. The cost was very reasonable.

We were a bit disappointed with how long it took for housekeeping to take care of our room though. They wouldn’t arrive until very late in the day. The only complaint I had was the floors in the room were dirty. If you walked in your bare feet on the floors, your feet were black. We did report the issue to the front desk. Otherwise, my stay was enjoyable.

The floor was not clean. It seemed to have gritty like sand/dirt on it. Shower and bathroom were fine-standard. The biggest problem I had was coming back to my room to find the door wide open with an employee from a different company fixing a blind in the room. We were next-door having breakfast to come back to find this. It wasn’t even checkout time yet. You’d think between 11 AM at checkout and 4 PM at check-in they would have the room serviced and maintenance. This is very concerning because there were valuables in the room and no one to hold this person accountable. Cross this place off our list.

This is the second time that I have stayed at Capt.’s Inn and both times were excellent! The staff is very nice and welcoming when checking in and when asking about any information about the Alexandria Bay Area. The room was very clean and tidy, it’s nice to walk in a room and smell that it’s clean. They are also pet friendly which is a huge plus for me. All in all, great place to stay! Will be back next summer!!

We arrived early and knew we couldn’t check in. But when we went into the office to look around Kimberly was very kind and friendly and offered us to use the pool and look around the grounds. We were so thrown back by that because in other travels to other places we were never shown such hospitality. The grounds were very clean and welcoming. The room we stayed in was very comfortable, homie and spotless. The other visitors were very nice as well.

Our room was at the end of a section with the soda machine and ice machine up against our wall. We could not here it at all and at one point there was a group of teenagers trying to get a stuck item out of the vending machine along with their laughter. BF heard nothing and he was on bed that was against same wall. Parking was fine but took a little practice to learn the ins and outs of the property roads.

Filthy on day one and we told office person and cleaning staff and no better on day two , again asked with no result !!! Our room was not cleaned while we were out an entire day. We had to ask for fresh towels as the house staff went home before we got back. Was told all rooms had been cleaned. Across the parking lot from our room you could see rats eating and running around a dumpster. The maintenance needs updated. The door didn't shut tight and could see daylight around it. Chipmunks were all over outside, looked out and a chipmunk was on window sill and looked back at me. Not startled by noises. Would NOT stay here again.
