Great Stay in Twain Harte!

Had a wonderful two-night stay at the B&B. Provided such a warm welcome on our arrival and the lovely hospitality continued throughout our stay. Rooms were very comfortable and the common spaces outstanding - especially the expansive outdoor balcony. Breakfast was super tasty and filling.

The place is great and the host Stephanie was warm, loving, and very helpful. The breakfast was tastefully prepared and the bed and breakfast is an absolute gem and we would stay here again. Stephanie helped us plan our activities for the day and made us feel very comfortable and welcomed at her place. they have guests who have been coming there for years!

My family and I had an amazing experience here over the weekend. We have tried their in-house breakfast, to go breakfast on the day we skied and their dinner. My kids loved the board games, we loved the wine evenings they so graciously extended before dinner and the entire family appreciated the two dogs on the property. We will absolutely come back! My only slight complaint would be that due to how the house was build one can hear everything upstairs (our room was downstairs) and so we had to wake up quite early even on the day we were not skiing due to the noise. I believe that smaller rooms are upstairs where it might be more quiet. The hosts are lovely and the location is in the middle of nowhere so there is a lot of privacy. It took us about 30 minutes to get to Dodge Ridge for skiing - for reference.
I also need to mention that we forgot some articles of clothing at the property and the host offered to mail it back to us. She called and emailed and was incredibly gracious. We will for sure come back!

Only (small) complaint is the bed in our room was a bit “lumpy” and my husband felt like he was sliding off at night.

Highly recommend if you have no issues with stairs

Our stay was just lovely and it would have been perfect except the property has so many stairs. We are 76 and 78 and lugging our belongings up and down stairs (particularly outside) was difficult. But if that is not an issue for you it is a wonderful inn, even during the time of Covid. It is clean, safe, and very comfortable. And the breakfast's are 5 star!

The room was clean but the mattress was old and lumpy. It was so bad we couldn't sleep at all. Breakfast was great as was the service however we requested a change in our reservation a few days before our stay and they would not accommodate. Cancellation policy is misleading.

Get Away in the Mountains

Stephanie McCaffrey and team were excellent hosts! A beautiful spot in the Sierras, easy to find and convenient but feels secluded and tucked away. Just a few minutes from Twain Harte, a really cute little mountain village.

The staff was friendly, the breakfast was fabulous and the Blue Room was lovely and as pictured. However, the B n B is across from the highway and the loud traffic noise was annoying, especially when we sat on the deck or balcony. The queen size bed was comfortable, but too small for us. We had a hard time sleeping because the room was very light at night, due to the exterior lighting on the grounds. We were also disappointed that there is a fence around the property, so we couldn't go for a walk in the woods.

A beautiful purpose built B&B in a serene setting amongst trees. Comfortable beds, own ensuite, spacious room, and perfect hosts. About 2 hour drive from Yosemite valley village so set out early. Good restaurants in nearby Twain Harte. Highly recommend.

The owners and staff were excellent. Breakfast was delicious each morning. The wine and cheese at 5:00 was fun with the chance to talk with other guests. We stayed in the Wedgewood (Room 8) where the shower was excellent—plenty of water pressure and hot water. Our only complaint was the mattress was quite soft (seemed old) and my wife felt like she was going to roll out of bed all night. Highly recommended to stay here!

Great, relaxing spot for trip to Yosemite

Great, relaxing spot for my wife and I's trip to Yosemite for our 1 year anniversary. Was a good 1 hour drive to the entrance to the park, but it was worth the drive. The owner was very friendly and very helpful and gave us quicker directions to get to the park than what google maps tells you to go. Breakfast was awesome, and we met some cool people. I would definitely stay here again.

WOW! Such a lovely place to stay, wish it was longer than just two nights. Very quiet B&B. One of the more relaxing mini getaways my wife and I have had over the past 12 months.
Close to a great deal of antique shopping in Sonora and Jamestown. About an hour away from Yosemite. Definitely will return for another a visit.

Our experience at McCaffrey house Bed and breakfast was excellent! Stephanie was the best host. She stayed up late to greet us when we arrived (our GPS took us the wrong way). She even made us a breakfast to-go the next day because we left early for Yosemite. Her house is an hour away from the park. Don't listen to your gps! It'll take you the wrong way. Follow the instructions she gives you. The room was perfect! Amazing bathroom and beds. Super comfortable. The sit down breakfast was to die for! She made bacon, potatoes, an egg casourol, and biscuits. When we come back to Yosemite, we will definitely stay with her again!

Stephanie is a great host. The house and grounds are beautiful! The breakfast is delicious! I stayed in room 7 and woke up to a beautiful and private view of the forest behind. It's about 80 minutes from the 120 gate to Yosemite.

Stayed overnight while visiting nearby Yosemite. We were able to visit nearby pinecrest lake where we spent a beautiful day with our 4 year old. Hotel itself is clean and staff is friendly. Comfortable stay.

Amazing service and locale

We came in very late, well past check in time, and the staff stayed up well past their usual hours for us. They were absolutely wonderful. We felt terrible that we caused such a inconvenience for them, but with the fire in the nearby county, it was difficult to arrive ontime; they didn't have to do what they did, but they did it anyway, and that's what we appreciated the most. Definitely worth the stay and will do so again in the future.

It is 2 hours drive to the Yosemite park. They made breakfast early in the morning to bring with us.
We leave 6:00 and then we got visitor parking.

McCaffrey's is one of our all time favorites. Stephanie and her staff are wonderful. The attention to detail is amazing. As an example, a couple days before our arrival she called to ask me if I wanted her to make dinner reservations for us for the night we were to arrive since it was Valentine's Day. We stayed for three nights and thoroughly enjoyed every second. We definitely plan to go back soon.

This all the reviews say it is and more. Lovely location, excellent and personal service, good food and very comfortable. Some aspects of the room might benefit from a refresh (pillow for example) but by no means a significant issue. This is well located for trips out including Yosemite and the village is a delight with excellent choice of places to eat.

Nice room friendly staff
Breakfast was nice and had two options of sittings 7.30 or 9am and served when we sat down. Breakfast was nicely presented, well cooked but the combination of sweet
with savoury would not have been our choice but think was an American favourite.
The host and the 'help' (as referred to by the host) were friendly and went out of their way to please. The dog very friendly and I am still very envious of his fortnightly pampering sessions which included a massage nails, teeth and a spa. Likely the help are too!
