From start to finish, my time at Lazy Z Resort was incredible. The thoughtful accommodations, pool and hot tub area with fire pit, incredible club house, outdoor games and play spaces - beyond what I expected. The staff was friendly but also allowed us to have our privacy during our mountain retreat. I can't wait for my next visit. The pool was an oasis and the hot tub was the perfect temp - didn't want to leave. Thank you for such a memorable stay!

Cute 7 cabin , air conditioned, clean, quiet, the pool and clubhouse were gorgeous, and private. I was there mid week. No internet in my cabin, but had a TV. Cabins are mixed in with trailers that are long term hook ups and not always lived in daily. Memory foam mattress, bring your own bar soap and shampoo, and all your own food and condiments.

First time staying in the mountains in a cottage! Did not dissapoint! The ease of check in all by text! very friendly and helpful! Cottage was great! Everything you need (kitchenette, utensils, dishes) charcoal grill in front no stove. Make sure to bring beverages and food to grill! Pool and recreation area was very nice! Clubhouse has games and tv! I will definitely be back!

Room (manzanita 1b) was a bit run down and old, but made look nice. Bathroom was tiny, no shampoo. Pool and hot tub are very nice, although pool was not heated (yet). The room is very close to the pool, which was nice for us but might be a bit loud if it is busier.

This resort is a very unique property like anything I have seen in this area before. I would call it \"a piece of gold nugget in Mother lodge\". We have tremendously enjoyed the pool area....sparkling clean, organic shaped beautiful pool setting, surrounded by trees and bleu sky. and lot of comfort. Above all that is a perfect place for a small weddings. Sooo romantic. Do not get mistaken as I did, it is a very large property in hilly forest area so from cottages to pool and other accommodation is a quite a walk :-)We do not typically come the same place two times, but this is one we will make an exception and we are making already plans to come back again.

Rustic cabin-like room. No interaction with office, check -in was done by text. Went to room, key was waiting. Same with check-out. Dropped the key on the shelf and left. Area was quiet. A bit confusing to get into town, had to rely on GPS, as there are no dining options at resort. Overall, had a nice, relaxing time!

Its not worth the price is all its just Cabin in the woods nothing special not even wifi so 250$ a night just for being in the woods is not justfied every other amenity like clubhouse or swimming pool had time restrictions which should nit be the case with a resort and pool table and ping pong had no equipments to play with just for show i guess

We absolutely love this property! The cabins are beautiful, comfortable and so relaxing. We needed a break from stress and this definitely met our needs. The spa was wonderful- listening to the waterfalls and relaxing in the gorgeous scenery was magical. We played pool in the lodge and loved seeing all the unique antiques. A short drive away were delicious restaurants and shopping. Absolutely loved this beautiful mountain property. We will definitely be back!

Impressive easy check in and check out, love it. The environment is so tranquil, refreshing, serene and calm with the state of Zen surrounding by pine trees. Lovely and clean interior with cute deco as presented in the pictures. Easy drive to Dodge Ridge ski resort and very convenient to restaurants and grocery stores. This will be our go to resort now if we are up there again.

I liked all of it! mountain bike trip, i slept on air mattress in LR.Friend in the 1 BR.large refrigerater and only dishware for 2. wish there was a normal pot to boil noodles and a few flashlights avail. also the hot tube was barely warm.

We loved the natural rock water features for swimming and the hot tub. So refreshing! Disappointed that there wasn’t a cooking element or pans or bowls besides the microwave. I thought kitchenette meant that but I looked the definition up and I’m wrong. The resort is built into the hills so don’t let the map of the complex fool you. It’s not really walkable unless you like hiking thru the forest up and down steep hills.

This is a beautiful property in a forest. This is the third time we have stayed their. Each time we stayed in the sugar pine cabin. The pool and hot tub are awesome. Wish the pool was a little warmer. I'm 65 and jumped off the waterfall
We played the corn hole game and ping pong. Watched the grey squirrels play out the kitchen window and saw deer on the property. The cabin has been remodeled and is very family friendly. I can't imagine a better place to relax with kids. We will be back

Perfect if I had wanted to go camping, it would have been great. But….
I was in town for a 50th Anniversary Party and this wasn’t quite what was expected.
“The Bed” was what our family calls a Taco Bed or a Soup Bowl, needs replaced Badly sleeping two nights on it at $150 a night was horrible. My back is killing me. Not as clean as expected but it is a cottage in the dirt.
Dirty or I should say Hairy Shower and well……..
Piles of debris outside and unkept grounds didn’t make this feel like it was worth the $150 PLUS a Night!
Really run down for the price. Disappointed
Oh and make sure you bring a Hair Blow Dryer because they don’t have any.
This location was no better than a standard camp ground, Over priced camp grounds.
Sorry, wish I had better report. We stayed in the cottages and some areas of that location are filled with long term run down rentals. The Pool Area was beautiful and the Warm Bath Tub section a delight to soak.
Not many jets why I am short of actually calling it a Hot Tub. All in all. 6 outta 10…
But beware which place you rent here because some are nicer than others on the property.
Sadly for us it took the beauty of Twain Harte away from us. I hadn’t been to Twain Harte in 25 years and sadly I won’t be going back anytime soon.

Our trip was for our 28th Wedding Anniversary and we were so pleased at this amazing place! Loved the cabin, loved the surroundings and loved the reclusive feeling of this place. Cabins are NOT on top of each other, so that was lovely and the office was so sweet and helpful! We already booked our next stay in 2 months and will come back here often! LOVED IT and HIGHLY RECOMMEND if you like a rustic experience tucked away in the woods!

My wife and I stayed here for a weekend to enjoy Sonora and the snow while it was still there. Overall it was a decent stay, it was fine for sleeping in while we were out during the day.
Unfortunately, the clubhouse was not as impressive as it was made out to be. The billiards and foosball needed quarters to play, and there was event equipment (speakers, etc) just sitting out. I will mention that we did not use the pool or sauna, so no comment there. It seems like it would be better suited for events or large groups.
And the room did not come with toiletries or a night stand, which was more just an inconvenience.

Can't wait to go back!

My wife and I stayed here for our anniversary and fell in love. Check-in was really easy and everything was just as pictured. We stayed in a 2 person cottage and it was everything we hoped it would be. I would recommend bringing your own pillows as the ones provided are a little thin. The grounds are lovely to walk and if you are lucky like we were, you may even see deer! We absolutely enjoyed our stay and can't wait to return.

Such an awesome find! Minutes from Twain Harte, tiny cottages tucked in the trees with all of the amenities you'd need...except toiletries, be sure to pack soap and shampoo. Peaceful and pretty grounds to roam but since COVID, the swimming hole and museum were closed and unkempt.

We LOVED Lazy Z Resort. A very sweet spot for a restful time in a very sweet little cabin. Friendly staff and beautiful pool, very unique, place to hang out at the club house, play some pool or ping pong. Near Twaine Hearte for some good food too. We got mixed up thinking we would be close to Yosemite but really too far. So we just relaxed and enjoyed a couple of days on our way there. Nice little oasis.

I stayed in two different rooms during my stay. Both were very clean and decorated nicely, giving each room its own personality. All the amenities on the property are great and I had the pleasure of enjoying them all. Check in and check out was extremely easy, and it was nice to be able to reach the manager through text. Besides the amazing property itself, the Twain Harte/Sonora area had plenty of fun things to do, and I’d love to stay here again!

The resort was so cute, cozy, and lots of family fun! We stayed in a little cabin and it was perfect. There was a mini fridge, sink, microwave, and utensils/cups/mugs. We brought our own food and had our own little picnic right outside on our picnic table. The only downfall was a lack of hot water in the morning... shower at night because everyone is trying to use the hot water bright and early!

I really thought I was going to get here and it wasn’t going to look as nice as the pictures. I was pleasantly surprised. This place is beautiful, room was clean, property is amazing! I felt like this place was its own private oasis. The only “complaint” I can make was that the WiFi didn’t work well. But this place was so beautiful I stayed off my phone. I loved it so much I came home and made summer reservations. I can’t wait to enjoy the pool!

A really lovely property! In the woods and with fun cabins and a great common area with pool, hot tub and games. I was disappointed to find that it is 25 minutes or so from Sonora which turns out to be pretty far if you want to stop in there for shopping and dinner. This place came up on the search for Sonora but is not exactly close. Its true location is Twain Hart. The cabin was really nice! Had everything you needed. Small kitchen with Micro but no range. BBQ outside and good outdoor lighting for night. Beds comfy. Only downside was the heater/aircon only blew hot air for 10 minutes then started on cold. It made the nights hard as we couldn't leave it on. The cabin didnt have much wifi. We were kinda close to the office so latched on in one corner of the room to thier wifi. The office is not always manned with staff. We had self check in which was fine but never saw any staff to address the heater issue. Spent 3 nights and saw no staff. Overall I liked the stay and facilities.
