This is a small bed and breakfast with 7 rooms. We liked the common areas (there are several) and the small pool was a nice respite from the hot sun. We were on the ground floor so not able to open windows and it’s a little noisy but not bad at all. Breakfast area was very nice - we could eat indoors or out, and there was a good selection of cold items to choose from. Location is excellent - very close to the restaurants in the old town, but far enough away to be quieter. Walkable to beach, marina, kayaking, and Ponte da Piedade.

Bien situé avec le parking de la ville gratuit a 3 min de marche. Nous avions une chambre au rez de chaussé. Un peu petite, pas de ventilateur dans la salle de bain donc la chambre un peu humide. Les portes de douche ne sont pas étanches et le matelas très dur de basse qualité. Café filtre au déjeuner, basique. Jolie cour interieures mais les chaises qu'on y trouve sont très usées, voir désuettes. Je donnerais 7/10 pour l'emplacement surtout.

I lived on the ground floor . The smell in my room was not pleasant as if I lived in a basement. The reason is that the windows couldn’t be opened because the owner made them stuck. I did have unpleasant expedience living in such a condition. Hopefully the boss should let the windows open at least when the cleaning lady clean the room in the morning.

Our room was perfect--at the top of the house with a balcony and view. They are very detail- conscious and the little \"extras\" were greatly appreciated.
Our only problem was finding the place, dropping off the luggage and parking our rental car. Once we got that sorted, all went well.

Overall a really nice place. The location would be ideal if you are looking for somewhere near the nightlife and activity of old Lagos. If you are looking for a quieter getaway, however, this might not be suitable. We had some noise late at night from the town. But the building, the rooms, beds, staff and breakfast were all outstanding.

This hotel rarely had staff available and was in a noisy location. The rooms were tired and somewhat dirty. The walls and area rugs were stained I was also charged for 3 rooms when I had only booked two.They along with Expedia refuse to rectify this situation. My sister in law stayed in a hotel hostel close by, it was clean, she had a private room and bathroom, ocean view, balcony and breakfast served to them in their room. For half the price. Staff was there 24/7. I will stay there over Residence Lagos next time,

Located in easy walking distance to everything, yet quiet in the evenings. Good size room, comfortable bed, nice bathroom. Well kept and extremely clean.
I enjoyed my stay, the staff friendly and helpful. The only thing you need to know is parking is a few blocks away, and it’s not easy to park in front and drop your bags off.

Had a wonderful time. Felt very welcomed as soon as we arrived with the friendly receptionist giving us a tour of the hotel and giving us info on the area. Hotel is right inside the old city which made exploring really easy as you doing want to be driving on the narrow streets. Breakfast was good and a wonderful lady made us fresh squeezed orange juice every day.

This is more of a b&b rather than a hotel. It has 7 rooms. Doesn’t look anything like in their web photos There is nothing wrong with it if you are paying a fair price and not 200 euros pn like I did. The rooms are basic with creaking doors and noisy fridge. No individual bedside lights ( was suggested I take one bulb out!!)There is no one in the property after breakfast so you for example can’t refill your bottle of water. The check in was swift and friendly and there were little lovely gestures like a bottle of wine in room and cookies on checking out.
The breakfast was adequate with boiled egg for hot. Everything else cold. Fresh orange juice was a nice treat.
Perspective of pricing, I have been travelling from north to south of Portugal for last 2 weeks. I have come to my next stop faro where I am staying at a well known 5 star hotel. I booked all the hotels in advance at the same time. Here I paid 250 euros pn for a superior room and it has 24 hour service and oool and spa.
So my conclusion is that you should get what you pay.

We loved our stay at Residence!! The property is in such an amazing location - 20 seconds walk from lots of restaurants, bars, shops and more, yes it's quiet and private. Luana and the staff were super friendly and keep the rooms and common areas so clean and tidy. I would highly recommend staying here and would stay again!!

Fantastic location in Lagos. Super cute facility, very friendly and accommodating staff. Nice common sitting areas, both inside and out. There is no lift/elevator, and 2 of the rooms are: down a small set of stairs, then up a long circular set, then up another long circular set. Be ready for that with luggage! The staff are happy to help with that. And some of the rooms don't require so many stairs.

The free public parking lot is a 3-5 minute walk on uneven cobblestone. It can be very busy/full. The streets are narrow, one-way, and not on a grid so getting to the parking lot when you are unfamiliar with the area can be more challenging than you might expect. Be prepared for a little bit of \"arrival frustration.\"

This place was ok. No staff was there when we arrived and rang mid day but a phone call fixed that. The staff person was welcoming and friendly once we met her.

The stay was average-to-good.

The good: it’s a decent location near the center of Lagos but away from the main drag and all its activity and noise. It was clean.

What could improve:
They didn’t provide enough toiletries for example shampoo and soap to last through the stay. The furnishings felt dated. The safe was not large enough to hold a laptop. It didn’t feel like there was a lot of privacy for example in terms of hearing the rooms next to you but this is to be expected in an old guesthouse.

Overall I would not stay there again. Other people might enjoy it more.

We wanted to stay somewhere quite central and the Residence Lagos was perfect for this, just a 3 minute uphill walk from the square. The hotel is tastefully decorated throughout and is spotlessly clean. We arrived early but the host was very welcoming and quickly made sure that our room was ready. A complimentary bottle of wine, water and fruit in the room was a nice touch, as is the complimentary port. The breakfast was very nice, consisting of fresh croissants, bread rolls, ham, cheeses, boiled eggs, cake, fruit, yogurts and jams, as well as freshly squeezed orange juice available on request. The hotel is quite small but has a cosy feel and we enjoyed sitting out on the balcony for breakfast and in the afternoons. All in all a lovely place to stay.

Very cute property! Staff was very helpful. Bedroom and bathroom were a decent size. Great little laundromat just down the street to do laundry at a reasonable price (vs the per piece price at the property). The only recommendations to share are that bedding and towels could be better quality and the water and amenities in the room could be freshened up daily. This property is situated up a steep hill so plan for a good climb! Walk to the nearest beach is about 15 minutes.

Fantastic location with free parking a 5 minute walk away (very little parking within the “walls” of the ancient city). Very close to the downtown. Maybe 2 minute walk. Breakfast was your standard meat, cheese, cereal and fruit but with freshly squeezed orange juice. Free bottle of wine in the room and free port in the lunch area. Would stay again for sure!

The room has slopped cielings with beams,so you do have to be careful not to hit your head.We thoroughly enjoyed the breakfast. The bed was comfortable, we had a good sleep. This was a nice find in the Old Town of Lagos. It is relatively close to the train and bus stations but walking around with wheeled luggage was a challenge! (All up hill on cobbled streets!) Louann was a wonderful host and she ensured our stay was comfortable. This is a small property with less than 10 rooms and without an elevator. Breakfast was adequate but did not vary much during our 4 night stay. It is well situated near the marina and many shops and restaurants. It is located in a quiet area of Lagos.

A very cute, family run small hotel steps from the old town center of Lagos. Our room had a small terrace with a table, 2 chairs and umbrella. It is a 2 minute walk to everything. Note that parking in a free public lot is a five minute walk away. If you have heavy bags you will want to stop momentarily and drop them off before proceeding to park. A good breakfast and free port wine on the counter to quench your thirst at the end of the day.

Accommodation was quirky and nice, 50metres from centre of old town so very central. The building is fantastic. Upon arrival we were greeted by the lovely hostess who was so nice and helpful. The housekeeping/breakfast staff however were not as friendly and made us feel uncomfortable, they stood over us at breakfast and stared, also never topped up toiletries during a 4 day stay so had to buy our own. Only other negative is that the pillows were terrible, worst I've ever laid my head on, really let the beautiful room down so never slept well at all.

The inside was beautiful with lots of quiet areas to sit and relax. The front door was always locked which was great for added security (we never felt unsafe anywhere we went in Lagos). The overall stay was nice, but the mattress is way too firm/hard and springy, and the wifi was in and out throughout our stay. Not reliable wifi, and when we tried to contact the receptionist, she was never to be found. We had to go to local cafés to get wifi. The breakfast covers the basics, which is good. The place is very clean, and is in a great area, close to the town centre, cute shops, and good restaurants. 😊

Residence Lagos is a lovely property ideally situated in the historic section of the city just up the hill from the restaurants, bars, and shops. It is within walking distance of the marina and Praia dos Estudantes [beach]. The room was beautiful and well-maintained. I received an entire bottle of rose which was very generous and more than I could drink. They bring a large breakfast to your door in a basket and you can choose to eat in the indoor dining area, the 2nd story balcony, or a quaint courtyard on the ground floor. I stayed two nights and wished that they had had availability as I would have extended my stay. I would definitely stay at Residencia again--in fact, I would be disappointed staying anywhere else in Lagos. Highly recommend!
