Beautiful, stylish hotel situated about a 10-15 minute walk from old town. Lovely, spacious rooms that are well equipped and kept immaculately clean. Helpful, friendly staff and excellent buffet breakfast. Highly recommend!

Loved staying here, the hotel is quaint and charming.
Very well maintained and clean.
The staff at check in and restaurant were all nice.
The location was also perfect, 10 minute walk to Old Town.
Breakfast was abundant, everything you could imagine and lovely bright dining room.
I would definitely stay there again and would highly recommend Dom Manuel.
Also try their sauna!

We really liked this hotel, it was a great location and the staff were so friendly and helpful. We stayed in the main guest house with a garden view for 8 nights. The bed was very comfortable and we slept very well, could have done with a bit more hanging space in the wardrobe. The breakfast was good but the ‘hot’ food was only ever barely warm, the ladies who worked in the breakfast room were all very pleasant and helpful. My only negative about the hotel was the pools were all very very cold,
(we tried all three) swimming and using the pool is important to me and my husband but we found them way too cold. The pool at the guest house is so pretty, like a little oasis and just a little heating it up would make so much difference. That said it is a beautiful hotel and I would highly recommend it if using the pool is not a priority for you but I don’t think I would stay again for that reason.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at this location and the property exceeded all expectations! It was immaculately clean, tastefully decorated. The bed was incredibly comfortable.
The location was perfect—close to everything, peaceful and quiet.
The breakfast was the best I have ever had at any hotel. With lots of choices and a change of items every day.
I wouldn’t hesitate to book again or recommend it to friends and family. If you’re considering a stay here, don’t hesitate—you won’t regret it!

The room was very clean, spacious and well equipped. The breakfast buffet was varied and excellent. We didn’t try the pool as it was too cold during our stay ( october).

The location is excellent, you can walk to the beaches nearby and to the old city center. Therés also a surprising amount of good restaurants 2-4 minutes walking distance, try the Palacio da China nearby if you want a change from Portuguese cuisine. The Spar supermarket just down the road is fairly large and offers a great selection of wines, cheese and snacks at good prices.

This hotel‘s name says it all. Once we checked in and were able to explore the hotel we were captivated. It really was as beautiful as the pictures. It’s a very small property, but every inch of it seems thoughtfully designed and all details are well maintained. The staff were kind and helpful. The breakfast each morning could not have been higher quality and more diverse. The courtyard you get to enjoy it in was one of those places you usually only see in a magazine, not experience in real life. It’s not a big hotel and it’s not smack in the center of the old town, but it is well situated to both old town as well as the beach. The space in the room was perfect and the beds were comfortable.

We absolutely loved Dom Manuel. We were in a guest suite just 2 minutes from the main hotel and it was wonderful. Terrific space, great amenities and super shower. The pool was cool and refreshing, although we only used the one at our building. The main one was gorgeous, too. And the buffet breakfast was sensational and plentiful with so many fresh choices, hot and cold. Dom Manuel was the best place we stayed in, in our 5 week Spain and Portugal trip. Dom was damn fantastic. Obrigato.

Guest house vs hotel

Attention: lorsque vous réservez a cette hôtel et que vous prenez la Guest house, vous devrez sortir de la propriété pour vous rendre à votre building; donc pas de service de boissons ou de nourriture à la chambre ou à la piscine. Par contre, c’est magnifique, mais pas du tout dans le style de l’hotel. Au depart, j’ai été déçue car j’avais choisi cette hôtel pour son ambiance portugaise. Nous étions dans une chambre petite mais bien décorée d’une guesthouse de 6 chambres, donc tranquille avec piscine privée. La propreté de cette hôtel est irréprochable. Le petit déjeuner est excellent; beaucoup de choix vegan. Pas de crêpes ou gaufres mais un excellent choix! Bémol: le stationnement dans la rue qui peut être difficile. La piscine pourrait être chauffée pour en profiter au max. Il y a un réfrigérateur minuscule dans la chambre qui ne fait que tempérer, donc ne pensez pas l’utiliser pour refroidir. Vous pourrez vous rendre à pieds dans la vieille ville de Lagos.

Decent hotel - with one big noisy caveat!

We paid for what perceptively was one of the nicer “Suite” rooms - Room 14. Which is in the main part of the hotel complex but sandwiched between the breakfast/kitchen below and rooms above. Consistently each morning between about 6-10am the screeching of furniture across tiles, slamming doors, and the sound of grinding metal gates kept us up from a relaxing sleep. I come on holiday to relax and rest, not wake up at 6am as if I were going to work. One of the key tenants of a hotel is providing sleep, and unfortunately this room fails miserably.

Other improvements are there really aren’t enough sun loungers for the size of hotel, and bizarrely the breakfast doesn’t have pastel de nata which was a shame considering it’s Portugal.

It’s a shame because the room itself is nice, and the rest of the hotel and staff are great overall. I’d just recommend getting a top floor room, bringing ear plugs, and being a heavy sleeper.

I probably wouldn’t stay here due to not being guaranteed a quiet night sleep

For starters, Jessica was amazing—she helped us plan a perfect day with a great local lunch and a peaceful beach where we easily found chairs and an umbrella. The staff was super attentive, and the AC here was the best we had during our whole Europe trip!

The hotel is quite a walk to the marina, but close enough to restaurants and bars in the town center. It is also close enough to a few picturesque beaches. The main pool was a bit crowded in the afternoon, but luckily there’s a second pool across the street.

We stayed in the attic suite—spacious and charming, though the spiral staircase and slanted ceilings were a bit tricky. Still, totally worth it for the relaxing atmosphere and great service!

The accomodation was perfect for exploring Lagos. It was a 10 minute walk into the old town and a 10 minute walk to the boardwalk for the beaches and spectacular clifftop views.
The hotel has great staff who were willing to help you and always greeted you with a smile. The rooms had everything you needed and lovely traditional decor tastefully done. They aren't trying to be a 5 Star hotel but you can see everyone takes pride in the hotel to make your stay as enjoyable as it can be.
The breakfast had plenty of choices for a continental breakfast. Very happy with what was offered and it was available until 11am which is perfect for a lazy morning person like myself.
I normally go for hotels or guest houses that have tidy rooms, so I can leave my bags and go explore. This time I was happy to stay around. I think many guests were thinking similarly because some stayed by the pool all day. The pool lounge chairs are a premium, which meant that if you didn't time it right you would miss out on a lounge chair but it didn't stop me from taking a dip to refresh

Mostly couples. I was with my Sister and we had the best facials on site. The landscaping was fantastic. Breakfast was out of this world. We were in the Jr. Suite, room 131. So worth it, huge balcony and great view over the pool area. The only bad part was we couldn't stay another day. The staff was superb.

The place was great. Be aware the hotel doesn't provide any parking. It is in the street and not easy to get one. Close by you have some restaurants, not too bad.
Reservations required of course for hotel and highly recommend for restaurants.

It was a quiet oasis close to town and beaches. Check-in was quick and informative. The facility was beautiful and, charming. The room was a good size, with a deck overlooking the pool, lounge chairs, and lush vegetation. Everything was impeccably clean. The beds were very comfortable. They had a spa and rooftop lounging…also a bar. The breakfast was impressive with a plethora of choices everything was delicious and the staff was so pleasant. Honestly, stay here! It’s one of those places that just brings calm to your life

The breakfast was AMAZING! So many options and beautiful presentation- best hotel breakfast on our trip! My only complaint was the noise during the night- it sounded like there was construction happening in the hotel or neighboring property. Overall I would recommend this spot!

If I could give more than 5 stars to rate rate this property I would do so. The property is so beautiful not only the ground but the lobby areas and the decor in the bedrooms. Would love to everything about this place. It’s also a great location. The staff were wonderful very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was really good and there was a lot of variety in the food offered.

The only thing to be aware of is I’d requested a garden view room and my room face the street and I don’t know if that’s considered the same thing but it didn’t appear so on Expedia. However, I didn’t say anything to the staff. I was still happy with the room. The grounds around the pool and even the main lobby are just so beautiful.

The Chinese restaurant near the hotel is spectacular. Probably the best Chinese food I’ve eaten in 10 years.

This hotel was fine, but not exceptional (other than the excellent breakfast). A little farther from the town center than anticipated, and much more hilly. Bed was too soft for my taste, which didn’t make for a particularly comfortable sleep. Personally, I would select another hotel on a return trip to Lagos.

Room was nice and we enjoyed the brunch in the mornings. The front desk staff was less than helpful and extremely rude overall. I was here with my wife, and the staff talked down to us until they realized we were staying in a premium room. In addition, they insisted on writing out my credit card info on a piece of paper that they keep at the front desk in case of any charges at the hotel bar. This is an extremely insecure process as anyone in the hotel could find this information in their open boxes on the wall. We stayed here in part because of the pools, but the water was so cold we couldn’t get in.

Vitória at reception was amazing!!
She was helpful when we encountered a booking issue that was totally our fault - she recommended and booked us a short tour. The rooms were lovely and the breakfast excellent. Location to the old town was a nice short walk. Highly recommend this lovely hotel.

The hotel was like an oasis in the city and very convenient. The breakfast was extraordinary and staff very helpful. The room was very nice, but was located at the front of the hotel - something I’d not recommend because of the noisy garbage pickup early in the morning. I would return to the hotel but choose a different room.

We enjoyed our stay! Rooms were spacious and clean, breakfast was fantastic and the staff were very friendly and helpful. The beach and town are a 10-15 min walk from the hotel. Would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Lagos.

Four senior women travelling together. We thoroughly enjoyed our 4 nights here. Charming is the exact word for this hotel. Beautiful decor inside and out. The beds were very comfortable and the rooms were clean and quite spacious. The complimentary bottle of wine was much appreciated! Breakfast was beyond our expectations and we were given a packed lunch to take with us on our journey after checking out early in the morning. Highly recommend this lovely hotel!

Nice and relaxing

Large clean and comfortable room. We were in a separate building a short distance away from the lobby and breakfast area. Nice small pool and patio was dedicated to our building. Very quiet which we loved. Decent breakfast with lots of choices. Good location, walkable to town without the traffic hassle.

This was a very nice boutique hotel. Location was very nice. Parking was on the street, first come first served. Breakfast was awesome. Room was clean. Comfy and a good size with balcony. We would definitely stay again
