Friendly welcome and quick check in.
Room very big, no safe but fridge. No english channels on TV. Breakfast was very good, lots of choice and served 6.30-11. Staff didn't speak english but were helpful and always friendly. They seemed to talke pride in the hotel and kept it very clean. Free water and coffee all day was a nice touch.

The room was clean, this hotel was very nice, and close to the Malecon for walking our dogs. I also used the spa for a massage. Karen was good at her job and thorough with making sure my massage was a total body experience. We wooupd stay here again when we come bacl.

It is a comfortable place, very clean, good breakfast, but a little dated. I would definitely stay there again. Very nice friendly people. Nice walk to the beautiful historic center and very close to shopping and restaurants.

Have stayed here for 10 years. Used to be great, 5 stars. Now, shower door leaks a lot onto bathroom floor. Needs silicone. Mold around A/C ceiling area. Hardly any hot water during peak morning hours 7-9 am. Water pressure weak at all times. Hotel used to have a shuttle van service to downtown or wherever you wanted to go. Not this trip, had to call and wait for taxi. Room key had to be re-set daily at front desk. This has been an issue during past stays. Staff is still always available and very friendly. Services and maintenance are falling behind. Mattresses in 233 are worn out and uncomfortable. Was told property is under new management. Wish it was maintained and operated like 5-10 years ago.

My wife and I spent a few days here in August of 2021. The hotel was right on the malicon (boardwalk) and close to restaurants, stores and entertainment. The hotel was clean, and in good shape, with a beautiful pool. The hotel is not new and it shows a little, but the staff is what really shines. The workers at this hotel were so nice and polite and helpful. They took us to centro in the hotel van at no cost, and did everything they could to make our stay as nice and memorable as possible. If you have to have a freshly updated bathroom, or a refrigerator in your room, maybe there is a better hotel for you, but I am sure that no other hotel has nicer people than the Ocean View.

It was fine except for three issues. Pictures in hotels.com of the room were a bit exaggerated from the condition that I received. Very underwhelmed. The other was the room was not serviced the last day of my stay. Lastly, with the situation of Covid, I prefer the staff not go to my room at check-in to turn on the lights and A/C for my convenience. It is a nice touch, but not in these times.

I cannot say enough about the wonderful staff! Everyone is exceptionally friendly and helpful. The location was perfect for the 70.3 Ironman race. Because we are there for the race, we are not looking for a fancy hotel with expensive amenities. If we go to Campeche ever again, this will be our first choice of hotels. The only reason I didn't give it a perfect score was that the in-room refrigerator froze everything and was somewhat small. However, it's difficult to find hotel rooms in the area with any microwave or refrigerator, so we were grateful to have one.

The hotel is very clean and everything is neatly organized. The view is outstanding. Everything is close by. You are across the street from the famous Malecon (beachfront walkway). Very tranquil and peaceful area.

The hotel needs remodeling and the walls are very thin inside one could hear other visitors talk etc. Not a pleasant feeling. The pool is small and lots of birds are flying around. The staff is really nice just like most people in Campeche.

We took the one hour city tour. Very reasonable. Guide spoke in English and Spanish. We drove thru the narrow streets of calle 10 and 12. Saw the remaining walls, and important cathedrals of the city. Campeche is a very nice town.

After a whirlwind ten days my friend and I decided to park it for a couple of days. Splurged on this place. Took a master suite, no ocean view but was in the back separate area for suites only. Blissfully quiet and black out curtains (a rarity on our little adventure). Ended up staying for three nights. Cost ended up appox 55 a night each. Breakfast Buffet included (fabulous!!) Nothing around it for real Mexican atmosphere as it is along the ocean hotel zone but we had experienced plenty of that already. The pool wasn't large but adequate. Lots of staff..we felt like queens even though we only had clothes that definitely reflected our adventurous holiday, ie: tshirts & shorts..lol English spoken (quite well from some of the staff). Close enough to the historical centro to walk.

The staff and the location, right across from the Golf of Mexico and close to the old town, is the best thing about this hotel. Friendly helpful staff and an excellent breakfast. Rooms need a bit of updating but overall very good.

This is a fun city to explore history. The narrow cobblestone streets with their little shops inside the walls of the old city are fun to explore. There is also a great bike and walking path along the ocean. There is no beach or place to swim in Campeche. This a a very safe modern community.

Freezing in extreme heat
While the hotel is not new, the staff are incredibly nice and courteous. The only problem was that the AC system either worked at extremely cold temperatures or not. My daughter and I had a very hard time sleeping because of how cold the room got, but turning it off was simply not an option when the outside temperature bordered 90 degrees during the day, with also extreme heat and humidity at night.

Air conditioning broke in the middle of the night. Staff quickly offered us a new room. Hotel is just across from the ocean great location close to the plaza. No restaurant on premises. We ordered in from a menu provided by the hotel from a near by restaurant. Excellent food. Hotel is kind of old but still ok.

Absolutely horrible stay. Check in took over 45 minutes. The desk attendant could not find my hotel.com reservation and required me to charge my credit card. Upon entering the room it smelled of mold, cigarettes, and was humid. The A/C hardly worked. The after going to breakfast, I returned to the A/C being torn open and turned off. No notification was made about the issue. I turned on the A/C and it poured water all over the place. Upon requesting a new room, I was met with resistance. I was sent to another room after some time. I will not return. There are much nicer hotels in Campeche.

Worse than it looks on photos
We were in town for a Tennis Tournament for my daughter. The location of the hotel is great, right on the beach front walkway with view of the sea and close to a few restaurants and a mall. Easy to find. It had two tennis courts for practice which was great for us and it had a small pool which also was very welcomed by the kids. The pluses stop there though. The rooms are old and need updating, what was weird is the sign that they were remodeling or have remodeled already? You can hear other people doing their business in the bathroom from your bathroom which was well, not pleasant. We didn't get maid service for some reason, but the worst thing was that you actually had to pay for hot breakfast. I booked the hotel with the idea that the breakfast was included and it was, but only coffee, some stale bread and some fruit was included. If you wanted hot items off of buffet like eggs or other breakfast stuff you had to pay extra! This felt like a cheap trick to me as knowing that I would've booked another hotel that had hot breakfast included.

No complaints! This hotel was in a very good location and the service was excellent! The staff was awesome! We were a group of 15 and everyone was well pleased. We were walking distance from the mall, boardwalk, and many restaurants.

Pretty nice but a few glitches
We choose this hotel because it seemed large enough that there would be English speaking staff, and because they have an airport shuttle. Front desk staff DO speak English as well as Spanish, and were very helpful and friendly. The shuttle, though, was not at the airport as promised. It seems he didn't know much about air travel -- the plane was 15 min. late and we had checked bags (which had to pass inspection by a drug sniffing dog), so we're not at the door when he arrived, so he left! We had a newly renovated room but found that the bathroom fixtures leaked a bit, and we had to move the fridge out of its cabineted spot in order for its cord to reach the outlet.
Hotel location is good -- a 15 min walk from the old town area, directly across from the malecon, and 2 blocks from Walmart if you want to buy a large bottle of water.

The service was excellent for my short one night stay. It's as close as you can get to the ocean without getting wet basically. The surrounding area has a good amount of places to eat as well. The staff spoke great English and was willing to go out of their way to help. The room itself wasn't the best, but the location trumps any of the negatives.
