The room was spacious, the bed comfortable and overall clean. The bathroom shower was hot and the room opened onto an attractive balcony. The breakfast buffet provided a good assortment of options.

Front staff were very friendly and accommodating

Perhaps the only odd thing was a rule of no outside alcohol allowed in the room. I have never encountered such a regulation in a hotel

The breakfast was probably the highlight of our stay. The staff were nice and accommodating, but the building is in disrepair with several maintenance needs. One of our friends room has an odor that was nauseating and their TV did not show any picture, but had volume/sound. The amenities shown on Expedia, specifically the pool was not available due to what appeared to be needed repairs.

The room was very basic and tired. I would not equate this to a 3 star hotel. The hotel seemed under staffed but they generally seemed to be doing their best. There was no real terrace to speak of and the balcony was uninviting. We paid extra for a sea view but it was a small strip in between 2 other buildings. The exterior of the hotel was grubby and uncared for. Bit of a disappointment really

this is not a 3star hotel and should not be sold as that.at best a 2 star or hostel.there is no garden or outside sitting area.Ipaid for an upgrade to deluxe sea view.i could only see a thin blue line between two buildings.the building is old and tired.the room was clean and quiet and the staff were helpful.breakfast was o.k. but slow to replenish.

Room 010 on lower floor. External building and rooms need refurbishing. Exterior had black stains on the white paint. Wood floors scratched and stained. Bathroom tiles cracked, grout had dark areas that appeared to be mould. Breakfast was good and staff were helpful. There are steps leading into building and also to our room, which was tricky with luggage. There was a lift, but you needed to walk up stairs to access it. Free parking across the road, but does get full.

The property is in walking distance to the historic center and a few beaches. Be warned the favorite beach with clear water is not walkable. The property is overdue for renovation, but basically clean. The staff is amazing, friendly,, welcoming and extremely helpful.

Property doesn’t match the photos, based on what is displayed on Expedia, older boutique hotel. Entered the room hair was on the bathroom floor , couldn’t watch TV due to it buffering all the time.

A decent hotel

The hotel is located on the outskirts of the city, next to the N125, easy to reach if you have a car, not so easy if you are on foot ( approximately 25 minutes mainly uphill walking from the train station ) In theory you should be able to hop on the number 2 bus just outside the station and that bus should drop you off just outside the hotel but in practice the bus seldom bothers to turn up at all. And that sadly was the case with most of the local buses.
However, the hotel itself is very good, a bit tired perhaps and in need of an update but that said it was in a decent state of repair and very clean. The staff were friendly, welcoming and helpful.
Our room was excellent with all the usual refinements including air conditioning, tv, safe and a very smart en-suite.
Breakfast was mainly continental, offering a reasonable choice to suit most appetites. There was a cooked option of scrambled egg, mushrooms and something masquerading as bacon but it was always cold and didn't look too good.
Overall we thought the hotel was good value and would be happy to stay there again should we ever return to Lagos.

Rooms were a bit cramped, but nice to have a balcony and the location was within walking distance to everything we wanted to access. The shower was constantly draining water all over the floor- it could be easily remedied by a thick silicone bead along the edges. Breakfast was nice.

A very nice, decent, basic hotel in a convenient location. Nothing fancy but it met all our needs and the staff were great, always friendly, warm and very helpful with any suggestions we needed. We definitely recommend the breakfasts -- plenty of healthy, taste choices that kept us full until late afternoon! It's a 10-12 minute walk into centre of town or to the beach and we really enjoyed the stroll. There are 2 good Chinese restaurants near the hotel, but you will have to head into town centre for more choices.

We enjoyed our stay! The location was nice because it was between the beaches and the town. The staff were friendly and available. The free breakfast was a nice bonus and had a good variety. It would be nice if they could keep the hot food warm with the hot plate or have a microwave to heat it up. The shower floor is flat so all the water flows out easily making the bathroom into a swimming pool so just pay attention when showering.

Good location. Old Town Lagos is a short walk away. Several beaches are also a short distance away. The room had a balcony but mine was on the ground floor and had a view of an alley. The facility seems pretty old and the bathroom and closet doors stuck a bit when opening and closing. Otherwise very comfortable and enjoyable stay!

MOLD!! There was a patch of mold on the ceiling about 40 cm x 40 cm in the bedroom! Not like a few specs, like mold that is growing in the walls. There was also mold all along the rims of the shower. I had to kill 5 fruit flies at various stages of development on arrival, so there is some sort of colony growing there. When I told the front desk I could not stay there because there was active mold which is unsafe and unsanitary, they made excuses about having a work order. They said they had other rooms I could switch to, to which I responded \"If you have other rooms without this problem, WHY would you put me in one that is growing mold? How can I trust your judgement and ethics when you have put me in an unsafe room?\" No apologies, no offers of compensation, just emphasis on the fact that I was choosing to leave, it wasn't their problem. So - I wouldn't recommend staying here. I didn't save any money, because I had to pay for an entire new accommodation after paying for this one. The area is not very nice either. I thought it looked closer to the coast than areas in the old town, but it was just dirty streets and noisy traffic. There are so many far better places to stay while paying just a bit more.

The staff were very friendly and nice. The breakfast was also good. The room was terrible. The bathroom faucet was falling into the sink, I had to hand tighten it from below to use it. The shower drain was completely clogged so it overflowed. I had to remove old gross hair from the drain to use the shower. The hot water took about 20 minutes of running to get to the room so a shower was even possible. The AC/heater was very loud. The wifi was unsecured so people's devices could access each other. The tv would randomly come on at all hours of the night. I think that was a network device issue but not sure. They had crazy rules like no eating or drinking in the rooms. We were so unimpressed we left a day early. This hotel might be a 2 star, not a 3 star.

I truly had a wonderful experience staying at WOT Lagos Montemar. We occupied the family room featuring a bunk bed, and I found the mattress to be quite comfortable. Even with the bunk bed, the room was surprisingly spacious. The property is extensive and teeming with young guests. Breakfast was delightful, offering a variety of items to kickstart your day. The hotel is conveniently located within walking distance of the beach and the Fort. The cleanliness and organization of the hotel are consistently maintained. The front desk staff are always friendly and eager to assist. We spent 5 days and 4 nights there, and we will certainly return on our next visit. If you’re traveling by car, you can easily reach other nearby beaches, such as Portimão and Sagres, which are just an hour away and well worth the journey. Additionally, the hotel is a short walk from the main grocery stores, Continente and Pingo Doce. One concern we had was the shower situation in the bathroom; the design of the enclosure tends to allow water to splash everywhere. It also appears there isn’t a fan, leading to significant humidity in the bathroom.

More than adequate for a one night stay for the price we paid (just over 50 Euros through Expedia). Bed not so comfortable, and pillows a bit lumpy. No kettle or fridge in room. Room and bathroom very clean. Continental style breakfast was good. Would use again for a short stay.

I would have given 5 stars if the room had a mini refrigerator and a regular TV in the room. The TV was actually an Android box which had to be connected to the internet before using it. To access the application available once logged in (Netflix, Amazon, YouTube, etc.) you needed to have an account and every time you opened the TV you had to enter again your credentials. We were not able to watch the news in the room.

Great option for visiting Lagos on a budget. Very walkable location. The building is a little old and the rooms don't have the best sound proofing, but it was never noisy at night. There are no fridges in the rooms so finding cold water can be a challenge. Staff was friendly and allowed us to store our luggage for a few hours after checkout. All in all, an affordable and comfortable stay

The location of the property was very convenient as it was very walkable to many things Lagos has to offer.
However we only spent one night there and the hotel did not have hot water during our stay. Front desk staff said there was nothing they could do regarding the hot water and it just is what it is.

Looks a bit rough from the street view but absolutely no complaints! They have everything you need from a safe, private bathroom, balcony, to a free breakfast with lots of variety. It was a perfect 10 min walk to the beach and just under 10 to the little town, right in the middle. No complaints, we had a great stay!

Pros= Very walkable to main beaches, clean hotel & very nice breakfast. Rooms had balcony with chairs = perfect for wet towels & bathing suits. Cons= room was very humid/damp even with leaving a/c unit on and water sprayed out of shower onto floor no matter how showerhead directed. This is a young partiers hotel ! There is a bar downstairs open until midnight and you can hear people scream until 1h30 am ! I even called the reception to ask the guests to keep it down and they laughed and nothing changed… do not go if you want a good nights sleep and go to bed before 2am !!

The stay was good although rooms needs updating.
The plates x 2 was stolen on the day we checked out. It was so scary, I had rented so many cars and this the first time the front and back plates were stolen.
The cave we went was far from this property. I will not stay here the next time I go to the Algarve area.
