Nice one bedroom apartment, close to the beach with a nice restaurant, but restaurant in a hotel was closed for dinner, very inconvenient. Spa and pool only open till 6 pm, just the time to relax. And no robs in the room. Usually hotels with spa provide them. Next time will look for another hotel.

Fantastic resort with multiple pools with 5 minutes walk to the beach. Our two bedroom apartment was clean and modern. There is ample parking and we felt very safe as two women walking late at night time. I would come back to stay here again.

Very nice hotel with excellent service. Front desk was always very helpful and informative. Cleaning staff did an awesome job. Outdoor pools are not heated and were too cold to swim in but the indoor pool was quite nice. Fountain outside our room was in disrepair. I had Green curry with rice for supper and it was delicious. My husband and I enjoyed our 4 day stay.

Wonderful stay at the Belmar. Property is beautiful and well maintained. Our apartment in the main building was beautiful with a balcony overlooking the adults only pool. Great kitchen equipped with everything you need. Nice bathroom and wonderful king-size bed. Buffet breakfast included with the room was wonderful, best that we had on our trip. This property is ideally located beside one of the most beautiful beaches in Lagos, offering both convenience and stunning surroundings. The on-site restaurant is a great option, with several additional dining choices just a short walk away.

We stayed in an apartment that was exactly as advertised — spacious, comfortable, and equipped with all the amenities of home. The grounds are very well maintained, adding to the overall appeal of the property. The housekeeping team was excellent; though we never encountered them directly, our apartment was always spotless upon our return.

The adults-only pool was a highlight, with easy access to nearby snack and beverage bars, creating a relaxed and enjoyable atmosphere. While public transportation is available, we found Uber and Bolt to be quicker and comparably priced.

Reception staff were consistently available and helpful, providing directions and assisting with reservations whenever needed. Their attentiveness made our stay even more seamless.

Overall, this property combines an excellent location, comfort, and attentive service, making it an outstanding choice for a stay in Lagos.

Great property in Lagos. Very quiet area with a couple beaches, hiking trails, and restaurants within walking distance. 10 min drive into the main town but not walkable.

Rooms were clean and the amenities were great. We only visited two of the pools and they were a little cold and made it difficult to swim. Gym is ok but the highlight is the spa.

Overall a great stay. A quieter option for a vacation to Lagos.

Belmar is a beautiful resort property and very clean in a good location! The bed however is very uncomfortable and the staff is not very friendly! The breakfast room service was not brought correctly three times and still didn’t get it right! The balloons from the package love were deflated when decorated and no one gave the money back! It was disappointing in some of these areas!

The hotel and our room were amazing. The pools were clean and beautiful (although cold). Our only dissatisfaction was we found the staff to be not very friendly or happy. At check in the man checking us in was arguing with another staff member which delayed us. And we had to wait about 20 minutes for a drink at the pool bar when there weren't that many guests even there. The bartender also was arguing with a staff member. I would still stay at this hotel again but hope the service would be better next time.

Reception staff were excellent. The apartment was comfortable but could use some updating . The kitchen had what we needed. The pools were lovely and walking distance to beach was nice. We were disappointed by service ( or lack thereof) at the adult pool bar . I would recommend this property as it is pleasant with the understanding it is not perfect.

This property offers a great location with multiple pools for relaxation and swimming. However, it lacks some amenities that other hotels provide, such as moisturizer, conditioner, and basic toiletries. Despite this, the property is very accessible to the beach. I booked a spacious studio room that felt like a one-bedroom space. The mini-fridge wasn’t very cooling to store my medication or food. Unfortunately, I couldn’t order room service because my phone wasn’t working. On the positive side, the rooms were very comfortable, and the patio overlooking the pool was beautiful. The food and drinks at the bar and restaurant were good.

The resort from the outside is beautiful, but it’s the details that count. To start, the lobby is quite busy, but there is only one or two people staffed at any given time so even if you have a simple question, you will wait. The suite is beautiful when you first walk in. However, there were many inconveniences. There are no hooks in bathroom to hang towels or robes. The shower glass door is 1/3 size so it water covers the floor when you are done showering. Then your towels are soaked because they are on the floor because no hooks or place to hang towels. It also takes 10 minutes for the water to get warm. You have to bend low to adjust where water sprays from which is under a bar, so prepare to smack your head a few times. Once done, also prepare for the humidity to last about an hour. You can open front door to lessen the time to 45 minutes. There are very few outlets so don’t have more than one phone to charge. The air conditioner was very unreliable and shut off in the middle of the night every day. You have one bottle of water and if you ask for more water, you will be told to go to the bar to purchase it. If the single bartender is busy, you will wait until he finishes making drinks until you can buy your water to bring upstairs. The bed is very uncomfortable and you have tiny pillows. They are also very uptight about the towels. I am giving 3 stars because overall the staff is kind and because of the beach access. The beach area was fantastic!

Loved everything about this property. Views and property were beautiful, rooms were spacious, modern, and quiet, easily walkable to a great beach (Praia do Porto de Mos), multiple pool options, and 10 min walk to access the boardwalk that runs to the lighthouse and then the string of beautiful beaches close by (Praia de Camilo, Praia da Ana etc). Very close drive to Old Town which was very charming and had tons of shops and restaurants. Would highly recommend!

Good property, but be aware that expectations of a \"Resort\" should be tempered. It's a close walk to the beach. While there are alot of positives, they openly note that they don't provide typical services or amenities of a full service resort, or hote. Small things like charging for in-room coffee beyond the 2 capsules provided at check in, public areas not cleaned of obvious debris over three days of our stay, no TV in bedroom, no explanation of the property layout or facilitiles,use of a physical key for the safe are all examples of items not be expected. Most are not significant, but do distract from what otherwise would be a fantastic property. There are some great features such as ability to use the property facilities day of checkout, an in-room laundry machine (with no way to decipher how to operate it or instructions), a water therapy area included (but without any ventalation so stiffling in summer with the humidity and heat)...

Aside from some minor investments, many of the items could be easily corrected by staff training, improved communication with the guest and engagement, and overall if you are aware of these elements and expect them, it's great property overall.. just not the level of service, attention to detail, or best approach in many cases for a full service resort and very much the management's view (confirmed through staff comments) that they are running an apartement rental property vs a full service hotel is reflecflected in their approach.

Nice property. 4 min walk to the beach and runs were clean and sizeable. Some strange nuances. 2 Keurig coffee pods provided on day 1 only (additional ones needed to be purchased). Needed to ask for toilet paper to be refilled (not done daily). No tissue. No change in towels over 3 days. Needed to ask for a key to the lockbox in room. Pool was not heated and quite brisk. Spa pools had a number of jets not functioning. These are issues I wouldn't expect from a hotel a fraction of the price, let alone this caliber of hotel. We enjoyed our stay but thought the cost consciousness was out of place and impacted the experience at this $.

We loved this hotel - well apartment really. It was spacious and clean. Had everything you would want. We had a 2 bedroom- 2 bathroom suite and were there during an extreme heat wave. The rooms were very cool with the in room air conditioning units. The staff was friendly and helpful. You can walk to the beach from the Belmar and Ubers were plentiful. Would highly recommend.

This place is dirty. It’s all the tables are all scratched up. It reminded me of a motel six it wasn’t worth the price that I paid the shag rug, which is 1970 look is dirty and spotty. All the hallways are all smelly from the carpet and spotted and dirty spots in the carpet. Also had a very bad stench smell in the room. The front desk people are rude. Never heard of putting the pillows in the closet couldn’t find them. It was not worth the price or the time of being here, but I’d booked it through a third-party Expedia and never again while ever stay here again can’t wait to leave to go somewhere else because they won’t give me back my money awful disgusting stay away

We had a great stay at Belmar. We stayed in an apartment style unit including a laundry machine which was incredibly useful as part of our 2nd leg of our Portugal trip. Overall it was very spacious. Facilities and amenities at the resort like the pool, gym, and spa were very good. It was also extremely close to the beach and to a really fresh seafood restaurant. Finally the breakfast was one of the best hotel breakfasts I've ever had including a variety of fresh fruit! I left one star off for the following reasons. 1)In unit air conditioning is quite old and had a bit of a musty smell in one of them. 2) really not picking here, but the bed in one of my units was extremely hard and the pillows were very worn out and could use some replacement. 3) TV has a lot of channels but the actual tv is quite old and doesn't have modern features. This one is just nit picking because we are obviously not picking a hotel based on their TV. I am so glad I picked this resort as it was truly so relaxing to stay here and it has more than I expected. It was also close to old town Lagos via driving.

Belmar is NOT a true 4-star hotel.
It's more of a chalet or rental apartment near the beach, with no hotel-level service- no towel changes, cleaning, or luggage assistance. Pillows are uncomfortable, furniture is basic.
Be aware the advertised main hotel is misleading-there are two other compounds with no sea view or any design. False advertising at its best.
The only positive is the peaceful location and proximity to a beautiful beach.
Book if you want an apartment, otherwise avoid the disappointment and look for a real 4-star.
