My stay at Luces de Catedral was satisfactory. The location is perfect, walkable to all the attractions of town and great viarity of good resturant/bars/cafes, and it is very accesible for uber as well. We payed an extra fee for breakfast and thought it was very worth it. If you include breakfast the cafe is right next door, they offer an specific menu with 3 different options which you can choose from, from a light breakfast to fuller breakfast option. The food was really good and the service is quick.
The Staff was very helpful and kind, Alex who was at the front desk when we arrived to drop our luggage off hours before checking in and gave us a map of the town and highlighted for us all the POIs which was extremely helpful.
If you are looking for a great culinary experience and also great food highly recommend visiting the restaurant Voltereta a Tanzania and make sure you have a reservation, it was a lovely experience and delicious food for a fair price. If you are looking to see Flamenco dance performance, check Blacky bar, they dont have a lot of options in food and drinks but the flamenco shows are absolutely worth it.

Wonderful helpful staff, immaculate clean room. We had a great time visiting Alicante at the festival time. The hotel and staff made our stay so easy with letting us check in early and allowing us to store our cases after check out. The breakfast was delicious too and very good value for money. We would highly recommend. Thank you for a wonderful stay.

While the room is cute and not uncomfortable, the checking in was a huge stressor. No one at reception as published (and two different times published for the close of reception). We arrived well before reception's closing time, but no one was there to let us in. We made 5 phone calls; no one answered. More than an hour later (while we moved around the city with our suitcases) we got a very impersonal response that we could pick up our keys through the lockbox. They (the keys) were not there when we tried earlier. No apology or explanation for the bad reception. We had chosen not to check in in advance via internet (prefer face-to-face). We had no reason to think folks would not respond to our arrival during their posted hours of reception, nor to respond to our calls and emails to let us in.

The place is amazing, spacious and clean, all what you need. The fridge is leaking, i didn’t used it.
I couldn’t sleep all night, noisy neighbours from other rooms and from the street too. Needs asap new windows and sound proof walls.

Our corner Deluxe bedroom (Room8) with 3 amazing windows was amazing. Bed was very comfortable the decor was very authentic. However the shower area does need to be replaced. All the reception and cleaning staff we met were very polite and helpful. We have no hesitation in recommending Luces de Catedral.

No wifi and lift worked twice in our stay (did not work on arrival and when we left and we had extremely heavy bags). Cleaner only made the bed and put the towels away, did not clean the kitchen. Location was excellent and the condition of the property was good.

If I return Alicante this is not definitely a hotel I will book.

The hotel itself was not bad — clean, comfortable, and the housekeeping service was nice.
However, the parking information provided was incorrect, which caused unnecessary delay and stress upon arrival.
It would be very helpful if the hotel could update the parking details to avoid confusion for future guests.

The hotel is very centrally located and check in was easy. I checked in after hours (the front desk is only open for certain hours) so plan ahead of time and it’s stress free. The directions they provide are very straight forward and accurate. The room had huge windows and internal shutters that blocked out light and helped to block out some of the street noise. As this is a very central location do expect some noise. We happened to be there when the entire city was celebrating a holiday near the end of June and you could hear a lot of the festivities but any other time I’m sure it’s a lot quieter. All in all if I came back I would stay here again!

Good location but average stay

The location is very convenient and the room had plenty of room. It felt a bit more like an apartment than a boutique hotel, and I found the overall decor in need of some TLC as the walls needed a new paint job, couple light switches needed repair, and the rain shower head in fell while I was showering, which was certainly surprising. But the water pressure was excellent. Maybe too strong for the pipes :P the wooden shutters were excellent for blacking out the room, but the bed was maybe just a touch too firm with very firm pillows as well.

This made it tricky because the most difficult part of the room is that you can hear everything. I’m not sound sensitive while sleeping, but the door and walls really seem very thin. The toilet and pipes were constantly making noises, and I could hear everyone’s comings and goings. And this wasn’t anyone being loud or drunk. Just opening/closing doors, walking etc. But because the pillows are quite heavy and firm, it was difficult to put one over my head and keep it in place to block out the sound.

The building is on a pedestrian only street. You have to find your own way from the taxi. There is a shared door with a beauty parlour . You have been texted information about how to get through the door - there are no staff. Reception is implied but there are no staff. You find your key using info provided. Room is excellent. Road very noisy over night. No receipt provided. Makes claiming expenses very difficult.
If you don't mind everything by app then you will love it.

Very much loved the decor and roominess of the apartment. Good level of amenities. In spite of the lack of a front desk (we arrived on Sunday, late afternoon) we had no issues with the check-in. We thought the property was fabulous, being roomy, well appointed and in a great location. The only two downsides were the very hard bed, and the fact that you were practically on top of two building sites (less than 10 metres). We were woken up at 06.24 when the compressor was turned on, and then had lots of noise from thence forth.

No Soundproofing As Advertised Dont Expect 2Sleep

The main requirement to a room is so you can sleep. Unfortunately that wssnt the case. It claims the rooms are soundproofed which is not the case. We constantly could hear all the other doors banging and closing especially the main entrance door to the 1st floor which made a loud bang throughout the night. We could hear people talking outside and then early on the following morning the cleaner doing her duties. You can also hear people in the bars as well. We literally had 1 hour sleep if that. Even the trick of leaving the AC on at night to drowned out the noise wasnt available as it was set on a thermostat that switches on and off all night adding to more disturbance. Unless you set the thermostat down to 17c then maybe it would stay on all night but with one tiny sheet youd freeze. The queen bed wasnt there either just 2 single beds pushed together so another thing to wake you up when you are falling in between the cap! Had no reply initially upon arrival to bag storage and was never told there was a reception to assist so you wont get bag storage here. The room itself is clean and modern however for the money they charge its better to stay in a branded hotel for more or less the same price as you get what you pay for.

Apartments and location superb. Check in quite odd and messy. After 2pm check in with clear messages on how to collect keys but to call in at pharmacy to pay, pharmacy shuts at 2. Telephone attempt to contact staff to be told he is out go lunch so ring back in a couple off hours. Saturday night, out at dinner telephone contact please pay now. Had to return to accommodation Rubbish set up, we were only there one night they had our CC details.

Unfortunately we did not meet the hosts during our stay although they answered a query via e mail. Instructions were missing for the Heating/air con system so we were unable to control it ourselves.

The room we were given was nicely appointed, but only had internal windows (no street view) so felt a little claustrophobic, and no so comfortable to hang out in during the day.
But the property location is absolutely excellent. Also, the manager was available by phone etc, and helpful.

This is a great and spacious room with a well equipped kitchenette. Bed is quite comfortable and big enough to sleep two people with room for another. TV promised \"international channels\" but none of those work, the remote control was a pain as the batteries haven't been replaced in a long while.. Fan in the bathroom needs a clean as it is full of dust and very loud, if you are unlucky and your neighbour forgets their bathroom light on, their fan is so loud that it will keep you up.

Overall the place is fairly clean, not as clean as some people described and the location is perfection.

Favorite place to stay in Alicante

This was by far my most favorite place to stay on this trip. Beautiful room, very comfortable, close to beach and promenade. They were very accommodating to allow me to leave my luggage before check in time so I didn’t have to drag it around. Will come back again. Highly recommend this lovely hotel.

I booked this hotel last minute, as I had an unexpected overnight layover in Alicante. As soon as I booked, they sent me a message with instructions and the manager came promptly to welcome me (reception is not available 24 hours).
The hotel is perfectly located next to the cathedral, the city hall and nice restaurants (especially the super nice shop Madness Coffee right beside). The room was very clean.

Great place to stay in Alicante

Very nice place, clean and modern. Good central location near the beach and many good restaurants. It was bit loud on Friday and Saturday night so would be helpful to have ear plugs. The pillows were too firm for us as we prefer soft, fluffy pillows but I would recommend it due to good location.
