Lovely boutique hotel

The location is great, our rooms were clean and comfortable and the staff was friendly, efficient and accommodating - and they really went above and beyond when we decided to add an additional night, completely handling the move for us to an available accommodation. Of course, the stairs are tough but that's part of the charm of Old Towns - just something to take into consideration.

I would 100% recommend Heritage Hotel Dea in Hvar! It was a beautiful ancient building that was modernly updated and stylishly decorated with beautiful flooring, tiles and quality linens. The breakfast was amazing. The breakfast courtyard was adorable. The staff was accommodating and friendly as we started our day there. The quality of the food was outstanding for a free breakfast l. It was a very enjoyable part of the day.

The location was amazing, incredibly close to the water and restaurants were everywhere you turned!

All staff members were super helpful and friendly!

I booked this room with my partner as a last minute switch-up to extend our trip to Hvar by another night.

You can reach the hotel in 2-3 minutes from the port. There are around 20-30 steps, however, so it’s worth keeping in mind if you have heavy luggage. The hotel offers luggage assistance if needed.

The location is very equitable for those looking to spend their time in Hvar’s town center. It’s a short walk to the Pjaca and the area is full of different food, coffee, and other shops.

We arrived at Heritage Hotel Dea Hvar early from our previous booking and several hours ahead of check-in. The staff was fully accommodating, allowing us to leave our bags safely secured in the lobby and enjoy the day at the beach.

Check-in is quick and clear. You will take a few steps to reach your room. The rooms are clean and cozy. The window provides an intimate view of nearby rooftops and a sliver of the Hvar Riva & marina water.

The bathroom was sleek and modern, and (most importantly) clean. The curtains are a bit wonky and hang a few inches from the window - easily rectified if you are someone who needs to sleep in total darkness.

There is a small sense the check-in desk is in earshot - worth noting if privacy in volume is a high priority for you. We were entirely unaffected.

We were informed that a staff member is on duty at the check-in desk through the night. Our ferry to Split was at 7:50a and we had no issues checking out at 7a.

Overall fantastic - wish it was longer.

The property is tucked away in a quiet, charming neighborhood, offering a peaceful retreat while still being just a short walk from wonderful local restaurants and the historic old city sights. The rooms are comfortable and well cared for, and the atmosphere feels both welcoming and authentic.

Mia is an exceptional hostess whose pride in the family inn is evident in every detail, from the way she shares stories of what was once her family home to the genuine care she shows her guests. Her warmth and hospitality make the stay feel less like a hotel visit and more like being welcomed into a family home.

This is a really great little hotel. Perfect location, walkable to everything. The manager met us at the ferry and carried our bags up to the hotel( loads of stairs). The breakfast was made to order with many options and was delicious. The staff were all hard working and helpful. The room was smaller but very clean and had a view of the water! The hotel staff greeted us upon our ferry arrival in Hvar. The guy was extremely friendly and helped carry out bags up a crazy amount of stairs to get to the hotel entrance. He also then delivered them to our room up more stairs after efficiently checking us in. Our room was very pretty and spacious. The breakfast in the morning was also nice.

We usually stay at boutique hotels and this ranks amongst the best in our significant experience. Thankfully this hotel (and Hvar in general) has not gotten the ‘attitude’ common in so many others.

Excellent location, just a few blocks from vibrant fun, yet relatively quiet! Staff is amazingly friendly and helpful. We were met coming off the ferry boat, and assistance provided carrying our luggage up to the hotel.
I should note - as is very common in Hvar, stairs are encountered. There is a walking option minimizing stairs, but there are some stairs that cannot be avoided for the final ascent to the hotel, as well as to the rooms. Breakfast was fresh and very satisfying. We had an amazing stay - highly recommended!

Amazing experience staying here. We booked a night at this hotel for our anniversary. It’s an awesome little hotel tucked away in Hvar, right near the port. From there you can walk anywhere and explore the old town and all the dining/drinking options. The room was super clean and they provided us wine with glasses for our anniversary free of charge. The staff was very friendly and helpful and the breakfast was awesome as well. If you’re looking to stay near the port of Hvar, definitely try this hotel.

This is a great little place with small but nice rooms convenient near the Ferry port and lots of dining. Staff met us at the ferry and portered our 2 heavy bags up the plentiful steps. They also carried them down upon checkout (which is huge because there are a few sets of steps). This is not a place to stay if you cannot go up and down stairs, but otherwise I highly recommend. Oh, and Hvar itself is a great place to visit.

Beautiful small hotel in the hearth of Hvar.
Malte was very attentive even before our arrival, he meet us at the ferry station to help us with our luggage (so many stairs to arrive to the hotel), the staff was very nice and friendly all the time.

This was the best hotel experience we’ve had. They met us at the ferry to help bring the luggage up the many steps to the hotel as my husband has back issues. The town is on a hill so steps are unavoidable! The room was wonderful - nice original art work, big bed, clean and crisp sheets. Bathroom was spotless and had all the amenities. They sat with us and explained the town,sites and excellent restaurant recommendations. The breakfast was amazing. To order cooked eggs, full meat and cheese buffet , fruit breads. We had a wonderful but too brief stay! The room was great. The location was great. And the owners were great. They were very helpful and kind. The breakfast on the terrace was delicious. Beware of stairs to the hotel but if you are visiting any of the islands old cities you will accustomed to stairs!!

We had a fabulous stay at Heritage Hotel Dea Hvar. The accommodations are spacious, clean with all amenities you would require. The breakfast every morning was plentiful with both hot and cold options. The staff made our stay so comfortable from providing touring options on the island, to booking dinner reservations to assisting us with our luggage back down the stairs to the ferry port.

Great place with personalize help by the staff, they couldn't have been more helpful including carrying our luggage to/from the ferry. Perfect location, wonderful breakfast. Small hotel with nice rooms, recently redone. Right in the old town. The family running the hotel are always there to help - only downside is telling the difference between the two twins at the desk! Definitely will stay again.

I only booked this last minute as the original hotel I was meant to stay at emailed me a week before to say that they were not opening yet due to the pandemic! This was the next best alternative and a good choice. Located in a quiet street at the back of the main marina but well located to all tourist attractions, restaurants and bars. Very central. It looks like a new hotel. Rooms were very spacious with a balcony. Staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast is included and there is a restaurant on the premises but I always prefer to try different places so did not bother. Mini bar in the room plus free tea and coffee facilities. Wifi as per most of Croatia was hit and miss. I would stay here again. I was out most of the time and wanted something central and clean with friendly service to come back to. This ticked all the boxes. If you want something more fancy then stay somewhere else but you will pay a lot more as Hvar is not that cheap. Just a few small negatives, you need to climb some cobbled stairs in the heat to get to the hotel (not a lot) but you will feel it if you have heavy luggage combined with soaring summer temperatures! The shower needs a door or curtain as it floods quite easily. Although the hotel was extremely clean and room service done well, there was a funny smell. I can't think what it was! Otherwise I would highly recommend and stay here again.

We so much enjoyed staying in this hotel. The service was the best we experienced in Croatia- very helpful and welcoming! The hotel has great location, not far from ferry port and party life of city. Breakfast was delicious and diverse.
This hotel has all you can ask for and is very authentic. We would love to come back to Hvar and stay here again!:)

Lovely, lovely, charming hotel

Amazing place—the entire staff are friendly, helpful, accommodating. The place is lovely but—be forewarned—the ‘street’ it’s on is a set of stairs. It’s charming and wasn’t a problem for us, but if you have any mobility issues, getting there or carrying your bag there could be a challenge. We loved it. It was close to everything with wonderful restaurants, bars, and cafes nearby. It’s about 5-7 minutes to the ferry landing so super convenient. Oh, and the breakfast is outstanding!

What a wonderful stay from check-in to check-out. The place is well design, clean and everything was well thought out and my room has the patio which was so very nice. Excellent stay. Location is right in the old town just a few steps from the main strip and Riva. Next to all the good bars and restaurants. Very quiet in the evenings. We had a lovely balcony with views of the fort. Staff were super helpful.

Great service and location!

We had a lovely stay at Hotel Dea! The service was incredible - the staff went above and beyond to make sure we made the most of our holiday. The hotel is also in a great location that's two levels up from the waterfront, so we were close enough to restaurants and bars, but far enough to get a good night's rest.
