We had the best few days away in Weymouth!
Nikki and Pete were fantastic hosts and the stones throw guest house was absolutely stunning!
We had fantastic weather for our few days away which absolutely made the holiday 10/10 too!

Home from home

Loved it the moment i got in the door,i had that comfortable homely feeling, not all Ikea like most places,very interesting building, slept like a log,silent night's, breakfast beautiful, i had eggs benadict,so yellow yokes,the lady was lovely felt like my family, and my wee dogs had VIP treatment, and free parking just out the the front,private car park.Location was perfect, Stones throw away from everything. The towels thick fluffy, i had my own towel and did not want to upset the towel display. Lots of history to the building, and the one next door had an amazing tree of little birds. Thank you for your hospitality perfect hosts.Hope to come back.

Stones Throw guest house is first class. Nicki was so helpful and lovely. Lovely breakfast (various options all piping hot) definately the best dog friendly guest house we have ever stayed in. Nicki made us and our Cavalier king Charles Spaniel feel so welcome. We would most definitely recommend Stones Throw to anyone and we will certainly be going back.

Absolutely brilliant!

I dont usually leave reviews. But Stones throw was 10/10

Comfiest bed ive ever slept in! Nikki was hands down the most accomodating host ive ever met, due to my travel needs i left prior to breakfast starting. I was met daily with a fresh backn sarnie wrapped in foil for the day ahead.

Couldnt rate thjs higher and will certainly return if im ever in the area again!

Super welcome from Nikki who couldn’t have been more friendly or helpful. This is such a well equipped and beautiful B&B with delicious biscuits and fresh milk available. It was a home from home for our dog who had a bed, treats and bowls with her name on! It really is a stones throw from the beach, perfect for exploring Weymouth. We will return!

Nikki & Pete were wonderful, we received a lovely and warm welcoming and they were very helpful and attentive throughout our stay. The room was homely & perfectly clean. Breakfast was fresh, well cooked and very tasty. The property is in a perfect walking distance to the sea front, restaurants and bars. It’s safe to say that we will be returning to this excellent B&B. It’s a 5* from us!

A lovely little b&b close to the seafront in Weymouth. I felt very welcome and the breakfast was nice. The room was a great size but could do with a bit of updating - the TV was a bit old and the bed wasn't super comfortable.

Just a stones throw …

Great find in a central location. The room was clean and comfortable and the breakfast was excellent. The owners were really friendly and offered some nice extra touches such as home baked cakes and fresh milk. This guest house is super dog friendly and Alfie loved all the doggy extras. His own bed, bowls and a jar full of treats not to mention all the fuss from Nikki! Thanks for a lovely stay.

This place is a rarity in today’s accommodation business.

The service is incredible, the organisation and efficiency of the owners is also to be admired.

The professionalism and communication of Nikki isn’t something that you come across very often.

Little comforts, like breakfast served to the room, apple pie on arrival just topped off the stay.

As others have said, the overall experience is exceptional and fully deserving of a 10, I wouldn’t hesitate to return and I cannot remember the last time I said that!

Charming and Great Value!

My husband and I stayed in October 2020 and had a lovely time at the Stone's Throw! We stayed in Room 1 and felt very at ease with the hand sanitizer available, mask wearing, and overall cleanliness of the hotel and our room. Nikki and Pete were extremely friendly, had excellent local recommendations, and cooked a fantastic breakfast in the mornings. We personally liked the guest house decor as well. Lastly, the guest house is located within walking distance to everything, and we didn't have to use our car once while we were exploring Weymouth! Would definitely stay again!

Great B&B, central location and an amazing host

We loved our stay at Nikki's wonderful guesthouse. The B&B is situated a stone's throw from Weymouth beach (with parking) and our host was very friendly and caring, greeting us as soon as we had arrived. My partner, and dog felt very welcome during our short stay. The room was spacious and comfortable and had all the amenities for us and our four legged friend. We had a nice sleep in the double bed and the location was quiet at night. There was also a good variety of choices for our breakfast and we enjoyed it very much. Thanks Nikki and we would love to come back some day.

Quick trip to Weymouth

Nikki was very welcoming and accommodating as I was leaving early for a walk so offered me a basic breakfast alternative to take away or have in my room. Room was comfortable clean and business was easy to find. I would be happy to stay again. Would suit a couple (standard double bed) solo or business.

We had a fantastic stay Nikki & Pete and their 2 lovely doggies Ludo & Bella made us feel very welcome in their lovely guest house from the moment we arrived until the time we sadly had to leave everything was perfect. Breakfast was amazing. We had a lovely comfy room with homemade biscuits and fresh milk. We will definitely be going back and would recommend this gem of a guest house.

A fantastic bed and breakfast very close to the beach and to the town with parking.
This is one of the best dog friendly b and bs we have stayed in. Nikki and Pete are wonderful hosts - very welcoming and friendly. Rooms have good wifi and tv, comfortable bed, nice bathroom and treats for guests and dogs alike.

Hosts very friendly and professional. Couldn't fault them. Good welcome; homemade apple cake in room. Fresh milk delivered to room after 5 pm. Bathroom too cold to bathe in, but lots of hot water. Radiator not really working well, but soon to be fixed! Furnishing nice; clean and modern. Breakfast good. Dogs welcome, which is nice although we don't have one. Would advise family to stay here.
Cons: telly small. Lots of dust on top of wardrobe where stored cases. Bathroom very cold.
Pros: really nice hosts.Comfy bed. Good value for money. Parking!! Breakfast. Location.
Embarrassed to write any cons, as we liked the place and would like to stay here again!

Nikki & Pete at Stone's Throw Guesthouse welcomed us upon arrival and helped take our bags to the room. The location is fantastic, one street away from the seafront, and there is free onsite parking.

The room was very clean and had everything we needed. The breakfast options are really good and very well cooked. There is fresh milk provided for your room and the home made biscuits and cakes are delicious.

Nothing is too much trouble for Nikki and Pete and their hospitality is very welcoming and makes you feel very comfortable and at home.

This B&B was just what we wanted as it is a two minute walk to the seafront and beach and a five minute walk to the main town shops, yet it is surprisingly quiet for such a central location. The only noticeable noise was the mechanical streetsweeper which passed by every morning keeping the road lovely and clean. Our room was spacious, the bed was really comfortable, a very good breakfast, and the young owners were welcoming and efficient. We would recommend it.

We had a wonderful couple of days here. Nothing was too much trouble for Nikki and Pete. Their aim was to ensure we had a lovely time. The hotel rooms are spotless and tastefully presented. Bathroom was also beautifully clean and modern.
Breakfast was superb and freshly cooked. And we were just a short walk from both the beach and the town. We absolutely loved it.

Went on the reviews and thought great this is just what we wanted for a 4 night stay. Although the room was clean it was exceptionally small for a double. The bathroom had been put on one side along the wall and was only as wide as the shower ,the sink was narrow but even so you had to stand to one side to wash your hands. My hubby tried to sit on the loo but his knees hit the door so if he needed the loo he would have to have the door open. I phoned the owner and said we would be checking out after breakfast as the room wasn't suitable .That night he came with a full refund and said, no breakfast you have had a full refund and he didn't want anyone there who wasn't happy .We didn't ask for a refund as we were prepared to pay for the room and breakfast, we were going to give him the room rate minus breakfast costs. After his not very polite attitude we decided not to leave him any money and left early the next morning. This was a downstairs room and there was no mention of its size on the website.

Wonderful Short Break

Just returned from Weymouth and had a brilliant holiday. Guesthouse in a really great position, close to sea front and all amenities. Room was lovely, nicely decorated, very clean and bed very comfortable. Breakfast was SUPERB, haven't had better. Staff all very helpful and friendly. Ainsley couldnt do enough for us, and was knowledgeable about the area and things to do. Will most definitely stay here again. Such a beautiful area to explore.

Faultless!
Welcomed on arrival and bags taken to room, breakfast was fab and adhered to requests. B&B is 1 road set back from the promenade and in the centre for the shops etc.
Room was plenty big enough for 3 nights and very clean.
Would definitely return to the Melcombe Villa Guesthouse the next time we are in Weymouth

I found the staff to be faultless, so welcoming, helpful and knowledgeable about the area.

The room was nice and the bed was comfy although the windows could have done with a clean (seagulls)

Like any seaside stay do not take your car for a car wash beforehand, you will need to once you leave as the seagulls have a field day.

The guesthouse was ideally situated by the seafront.

We were very happy with the choice of B&B. Our room very was clean and tidy, good size but the bathroom was very cosy. Both mornings the breakfast was fantastic! Staff at the B&B were very helpful, friendly and welcoming. We were able to walk to the beach, shops and restaurants.
Parking was always available.
Would definitely stay here again!

Outstanding B&B in a perfect location in Weymouth

I stayed here for 4 nights in May 2016 having found the B&B on Trip Advisor. I am extremely pleased I did find the Melcombe and would strongly recommend it to anyone.
I used it as a base to visit Dorchester, Swanage, Poole and Bournemouth. At the same time, I discovered other places off the beaten track such as Wimborne and Tolpuddle.

1st stay at Melcombe Villa Guesthouse was perfect

Me and my partner would deffo stay there again, Aynsley did a great job in looking after us, And brekkie was first class. The only downside however was the parking, Just enough for 4 vehicles, So may have to ask someone else staying there to move their car if you wanted to go out, But at least there was free parking and free parking for 2 more vehicles on the road, So yeah we would recommend.

A cosy guest house near Jurassic coast.

The proprietor was very helpful at our late check in. The power shower and the comfortable bed provided a good night sleep. We also had a full English breakfast before we journeyed on.
