This was my second time staying at Navona Essence. Both times i’ve stayed here were only for a night prior to catching a flight from FCO. I chose this hotel because the location is excellent, right off of Campo de Fiori, and perfect for enjoying one last night in the city. The staff was friendly and available 24 hours. The room was clean and comfortable. Be sure to try Forno, an incredible bakery right on the corner of the street. There’s also plenty of great restaurants in the piazza plus a daily farmers market during the daytime.

The hotel is nice and comfortable. But it is down a narrow alleyway with cobblestones. It is necessary to drag your luggage along and that is very inconvenient and uncomfortable. Especially if the area is closed for events.

The location is fantastic, perfect to walk to most of the major sites in Rome.

The rooms are clean, comfortable and functionable.

Our only criticism would be the breakfast, which was low quality with cold eggs & sausages.

And a small thing, we asked about airport transportation options and they offered us a \"shuttle\" which was more expensive than the fixed fee for taxis in the city. To us it seemed an unnecessary attempt to get a few extra euros out of us.

A lovely hotel in an even better location. The staff were very friendly and our room was great for families. We booked a junior suite, which was excellent value for money - loads of room, with 2 separate sleeping areas, a walk in wardrobe and balcony. The hotel is in a beautifu, quiet, market street and close to Piazza Novona and a lovely market square, with lots of places to eat. Would highly recommend.

Tucked down a small lane off a bustling town centre the hotel was very quaint. The reception staff were all wonderful, extremely friendly and happy to offer recommendations across the city.

Unfortunately the room fell short of our expectations. Quite grubby in places and sadly the air-conditioning wasn't overly powerful (and during a heat wave, we really needed it). The reception staff again, were lovely and offered an additional fan, but when advertising a fully airconditioned room, you do kind of expect it sadly.

We didn't have breakfast, it was in the basement and did smell quite damp (not really their fault but put us off a little).

We loved our stay here! Excellent location (just steps away from Campo di Fiori), can reach most major monuments within 20-25 mins of walking, room was clean and cosy with lovely light and great aircon, and the staff were amazing and went above and beyond to help us sort something out (special thanks to Emiliano for being so helpful). Would highly recommend! Thank you Navona Essence for a lovely stay :)

Location is great, walkable and close to many great things, the only problem was that our room over looked the path that the stalls used to set up for Campo de Fiori so early in the morning they could be heard. A few issues with plumbing, the shower didn’t drain properly and the toilet continuously ran from time to time.

The room was nice and this is in an incredible location! Close to so many great restaurants and night life and walking distance to all of Rome's sights. The staff were extremely helpful and nice and provided lots of information and helped us to book a cab as well. Only thing is that the A/C did not work very well and we were in Rome the week of the heat wave so it was really challenging not coming home to a cool room.

We had a great stay! The hotel is conveniently located with close public transportation and many attractions within walking distance. The staff were nice and the room was very clean. Great AC, which was critical for a July visit. Our room had some steep steps in it which were fine for us but would warn for people who may have issues with stairs.

The hotel is located at a walkable distance to most attractions. During our stay we had to only book a cab to the train station, but otherwise did walk to our destinations. Lot of food options around, and the local daily market is absolutely a great plus. The hotel staff were friendly and helpful. We really enjoyed our stay.

The hotel is in a good location,campo di fiori for panini juice it is great, they have a mini market right next to the hotel very useful, taxi spot near by too if needed since you can walk a lot to close landmarks, FREE Breakfast good with their options, the room for three people is what we needed was great, the staff very helpful and friendly, we had an issue with the Air Conditioning and they tried to fix it however having a home with A/C that room was never @ 18 Celsius degrees even after they mentioned it was fixed, we need to have to work but the internet does not have the bandwidth or speed to work and we do not use tough apps, so if you like cold rooms after a hot day and a good internet this hotel is not it. Besides that the hotel is good

They helped us get to the hotel from the airport (despite it being outside of the normal hours because our flight was very delayed) and were very helpful in providing information about the area. We love staying in this part of Rome. We stayed on the same alley before but never saw Navona before. It is in a small alley street off the main square. There's markets, cafes, restaurants, anything you need just a few steps away. The room is clean, new and modern and roomy. Water pressure is good. AC/heater is super quiet and works great. Bed was a little too firm for me. If you need to catch a taxi to the airport, there's some right in the square waiting. We would definitely stay at Navona again!

We were happy with:
1. It was a decent room
2. Staff was very pleasant. They suggested several good restaurants that made my birthday dinner …very wonderful
3. It was great location.
4. They left a thoughtful note and bottle of bubbles for my birthday. :)

We were unhappy with our room stay for the following reasons:
1. Sent this list to the hotel twice before posting…went unacknowledged.
2. Upon our arrival we found we had to walk 1km through the square to check in at another hotel desk. The took bags back to our room.
3. Fruit flies in our room and in the lobby.
4. Room door had to be slammed hard to make it shut/secure. Came back from walk to find it was open as we had not known to slam it.
5. Floor dirty. We found a good amount of dirt/dust kept getting on the bed from our feet due to the dirty floor.
6. Hooks to hang towels. One was broken off and missing. The other was 1/2 hanging off.
7. I ran out of hot water during shower on the first night.
8. Bathroom lighted mirror was not working.
9. Bathroom countertop was chipped/broken.
10. Drain plug in bathtub was broken and would not work.
11. We paid $8 each for a breakfast which we could not finish/enjoy as the basement room was full of fruit flies...very frustrating. We needed to find another breakfast place to eat so we paid twice.
12. There was not any place to relax other than room. No patio to enjoy a glass of wine. Tried the lower hallway sofa but pestered by fruit flies.

Fantastic room and bathroom. Beautifully decorated, clean and plenty of room for cases and the such. The mini fridge was great to keep water cool and the electronic safe was useful. The sweets scattered on the bed (which was so comfy) on arrival was a lovely touch. The free wifi was great! Breakfast was good but I didn't like the number of fruit flies that were around. Having to check in at the other hotel was fine but my son and I didn't like not having any staff on reception. Location is good.

Position was brilliant - just off C di Fiori.Reception does not exist so you have to check in at another hotel-5 mins walk away over cobbles with nobody to help with bags.We hadn't realised this before & did not like it! It meant we had to alter destination of booked taxi from airport - we have a little Italian, but the driver had no English, so this was a bit tricky. When we arrived at the Hotel Teatro di Pompeo to check in, the receptionist was lovely, but we got lost walking to Navona Essence Hotel, as it is easy miss - just a doorway in a small street. Also we didn't like the feel of being in a hotel with no reception - an empty desk is not welcoming.We went to celebrate my partner's 70th birthday & it was a nice touch that a small bottle of prosecco was in our room.The room was very pleasant with a contemporary yet comfortable feel & had excellent soundproofing (the pedestrian street is noisy late at night) Our 2 daughters joined us for 2 nights but were told they would have to change rooms after 1st night-annoying as they only had a brief time in Rome.Room cleaned daily but we had to borrow bath towels from daughters one day when they forgot to replace them!The breakfast room was a bit dark in the basement with chilly ac.Breakfast was adequate - coffee from machine (but tasty) Not fresh breads. Cereals, cold meats and cheese ok, juice - not natural.There was an abundance of fruit flies - not nice.Overall ok but not good enough for the price of the hotel.

This hotel was hit and miss. You have to check in at a completely different property across the square which is a bit of a pain, there is no one at reception on the property. The room was nice and spacious but lacking a bit in cleanliness. We had a junior suite and the tub instantly filled up with water when showering, drain needs to be cleaned. The balcony was lovely and the bed was comfortable, plenty of closet space. So some good, some bad. I would give it a 3.5 star.

I'd already done 'my homework' via reading various reviews, and we were not disappointed, situated down a quiet street just off a busy piazza with good eateries, with a larger and very impressive piazza across the road (Navona)....all the major attractions are easliy reachable as well, the 'Pantheon' is a 5 minute walk and a 'must'.
The Staff were 'excellent'+ in my opinion, cheerful and helpful, room was modern and roomy, breakfast, in a real nice dining area, was varied and plentiful.
We had to check in/ out at the 'Essences's sister hotel...the 'teatro de pompeo' which is literally just around the corner, again the staff there were ' immense' extremely helpful pleasent and polite.HUGE THANKS TO THE 2 LADIES WHO SORTED OUR BOARDING PASSES OUT for us...YOU KNOW WHO YOU ARE!.. ( it may not seem like much but when your dealing with someone whos not very computer literate, with dodgy eyesight (me!).....it was a massive help).
All in all I would definately recommend , thanks again to all concerned.
( Footnote: I couldnt find a decent pint of 'Peroni' anywhere!....I kid you not )

Location was great! Convenient to many fun things to do in Rome, plazas and bus services. Room and bathroom were wonderful. Walls are bit thin. The front desk closes at 11pm, just for your information. Also, one of the front desk workers did not speak English which was difficult when we needed help. She was lovely, just couldn't help us much.

We loved everything about Navona Essence! This was our first trip to Europe and I was very nervous about everything. The hotel staff was so friendly and happy to assist with all of my questions before I even booked the room. The triple room is VERY spacious, almost like two rooms joined by a bathroom and walk in closet. We had a king sized bed and a sleeper sofa. The sleeper sofa was large and comfortable for my 6'3 teenage son. We also have a balcony that had ample seating for 4. The location was perfect! Walking distance to many sites. The hotel was steps away from a large plaza with over 15 restaurants. The plaza also turned into a large market everyday at 6:30am with all types of vendors with fresh fruits/vegetables, olive oils, clothes, etc. The market is broken down every evening which makes it lovely to sit outside at the restaurants. I can't say enough about the staff! So attentive and helpful. They assisted with taxis, printing boarding passes and even calling the Italian airlines for me when I could not pay for my luggage online. Thank you for a wonderful first visit to Rome! I highly recommend!

Just back from a wonderful few days in Rome. There are so many hotels to choose from but really happy with the one we went to. The Navona Essence Hotel was just beautiful. From the time we arrived we were greeted at reception by Francesca who was just wonderful so friendly. All the staff were lovely. It was my birthday during the stay and they very kindly gave us a free upgrade to a stunning room. Location wise it was brilliant we could walk to everything. loads of restaurants all around us and every corner lead to a quirky side street which was full of character. I am looking forward to our return to Rome already..beautiful city with beautiful people. . Would highly recommended the Navona Essence Hotel

Right in the heart of Rome. Great location next to almost everything you’d want to see and do. We walked to the Vatican, Pantheon, Trevi fountain and more. Lovely staff and a beautiful room. Navona Essence was amazing! We loved our room. It was very comfortable and in an excellent location. We walked to the Colosseum and Vatican City. We enjoyed the daily breakfast. The best part was the people. We were greeted by Valeria at the front desk. She was AMAZING! Extremely friendly and helpful We also enjoyed meeting Elisabetha who was a new trainee. The hotel arranged for transportation from the airport which was fantastic and honestly cost the same as it would for a taxi. After a long flight from the states, it was great to be able to just hop into the Mercedes van that awaited us. Finally, we give Navona Essence an A+ for attention to detail and noticing that my boyfriend's birthday was during our stay with them. We returned to our room after a day of sightseeing to find a split of Prosecco, 2 champagne glasses and a lovely note. We highly recommend Navona Essence.

Lovely small and very clean boutique hotel with funky modern decor and excellent amenities in the room and bathroom. Fabulous location walking distance from several tourist attractions and run by very friendly and helpful staff. The walls between the rooms are thin so we were disturbed by the noise from the neighbouring room, but once we changed rooms everything was fine. We had a happy four days staying in this hotel and would stay there again. The staff were so kind and knowledgable about sightseeing in the wonderful city of Rome.

Modern facility close to the market and restaurants. The staff were superb! Most excellent with directions, restaurant recommendations and arranging for transportation to the airport. Clean rooms & clean breakfast area. Breakfast includes self serve cappuccino, cold meats, fruits, yogurt, pastry, cheese & cereal. Location to all the sites were manageable on foot. A lovely experience and most certainly will go back. Our room streetside was a little noisy late night, maybe from the bar crowds so if your a light sleeper be prepared. Most definitely will stay there again anyway.

This lovely hotel was right off of Campo Di Fiore. We walked to so many places- Piazza Navona, the Patheon, Piazza Venezia, Villa Borghese, the Spanish Steps, Piazza del Popolo and Trastevere. Staff was very friendly and helpful. After checking out, we were able to keep our luggage there while we explored. The hotel was spotless. Breakfast was plentiful. I would definitely stay here again!

Stayed at this boutique hotel for 7 nights. It is in a perfect location, just a short walk to the Campo di Fiori. Within 5-20 minutes walking of the Piazza Navona, Pantheon, Piazza Venezia and the Colloseum. Quiet room with comfortable beds. Reasonably sized for hotels in Rome. From the moment we arrive, up until the moment we left, the hotel staff was extremely accommodating and helpful. We were welcomed by name and given recommendations on the best local spots to eat and how to get around Rome. Would recommend this hotel to anyone. Looking forward to returning.

This is an exceptional hotel that is very well located between the colosseum and the Vatican. It's about a half hour walk to both. It's on a quiet little street near a nice little square. The staff is super friendly and helpful. The hotel is a small unique older building that has been very well modernized for comfort. We really enjoyed our stay here.

A Gem of a Find

I thought the reviews were to good to be true , but decided to give it a go. The price was brilliant and the location so we book.
Well what an awesome experience, such friendly and helpful staff that guided us to an amazing area for a brilliant meal for our last day in Rome, a definite highlight. So accommodating , It was our best stay of the trip. They organized our transfer and what a lovely cute room with the modern touch which in the center of Rome where space is a premium was a rare find. Loved it !

Awesome little hotel right in the heart of Rome.

Rebooked here last minute after we had problems at a competitor, and were pleasantly surprised, the nicest place we stayed during our entire vacation. Just steps to Campo De Fiore, super nice accommodations, and the front desk staff had some great recommendations for restaurants in the area. Loved it!
