Staff was excellent, breakfast was good and location was premium! Walkable to the Vatican, Colosseum, Pantheon, Spanish Steps and The Trevi Fountain.
We did have one issue and for us it was a major one: there was no wifi at the property for our entire stay. This was a major issue for us as we were travelling from Canada. We had to find wifi at a cafe in order to purchase an Italian SIM card to get connected, but this SIM card did not work while in our room. It was a major disappointment to not be able to communicate with our kids while in our Hotel. We were both surprised at how the Hotel did not offer to compensate us in any way for the lack of wifi - one of the conditions of booking the property was that we needed wifi. The property should have viewed this issue as seriously as we did and offered to compensate us something - even just paying for our SIM card would have shown that they understood the seriousness of the missing wifi for foreign visitors.

If the only available room are the Annex, don’t book it. Stayed at the actual Navona Theatre Hotel twice before and had a pleasant stay.

The annex on the other hand was closer to the Piazza but conditions of the room are unsatisfactory. The building it’s in is dirty and seemed unsafe - lots of foot traffic due to it sharing entrances with multiple airBNBs and hostel style like rooms.

There is an elevator but you have to take 20 stair steps before getting to it. And then when you exit the elevator, you have to take another 15 steps down to the entrance of the rooms. It was confusing.

Definitely a No- No in the future. And I am speaking as an Expedia Platinum.

The room was a block away from the hotel in an apartment building. It faced restaurants and bars that played loud music until 3am or so--super noisy. The bed was very hard and uncomfortable. We were not able to make the breakfast as only open from 8-10am. We only ended up spending one night there before moving to another hotel that was much more comfortable and quieter. I would not recommend this as an attractive option for travelers.

Everything else is great expect you can’t sleep at night at hour room. The hotel is sharing with other local residents, and the next room happened to be lunatics who kept on practicing piano and chorus until midnight and although the hotel had notified him.

A small hotel with rooms set under the vaulted ceiling of an old disco (and we assume theatre). Quiet, modern and a warm welcome. Excellent location with plenty of choice for bars and restaurants close by. Good quality buffet breakfast.

Staff were amazing. Rooms are nice and clean. It reminds me of an upgraded hostel. It’s just rooms and no front desk staff after 10pm. I recommend this hotel because close to everything. The only negative thing that stood out to me is a staff member or staff members friend pretty asian female was kisses non stop on the couch with her boyfriend on numerous occasions in the main lobby. I still remember the sound yuck. The lobby has an echo, you can hear the conversations and laughter in your room.

The streets they say is extremely safe but walking down a dark cobble stone alley late night is pretty creepy. But, again I definitely recommend it. The guy at the front desk was amazing, friendly, and knowledgeable.

The Hotel is located in a great location with plenty of bars and restaurants within a few blocks. If you are considering a room rate that includes breakfast I would highly suggest including breakfast. There were lots of items to choose from and everything was fresh.

A Roman delight.

Though this is a very basic hotel, we had a great experience. The hotel staff was amazing. Very friendly, very accommodating. The rooms are very basic but clean. Really good air conditioning, it was very hot in Rome. The hotel is on a small side alley, so it’s very quiet. They serve a decent breakfast. The biggest asset is the location. We were about 20 to 30 minutes, walking distance from the Vatican, the Colosseum, and the Jewish ghetto. There were numerous restaurants just minutes from the hotel, the beautiful Piazza Navona is literally two minutes away. I would highly recommend this hotel

The AC is not cold and it is sweltering in June. Staff turned off the AC daily when we were out. Bathroom had no counter space. There’s no ice machine. The hotel is down a dark alleyway. Otherwise a convenient location.

Location for the property is amazing and it is very easily accessible to very touristy places. The room we were in was a bit outdated, could be updated with paint. The worst thing was it had mosquitoes and the room we were given (which was not the one booked) was on the ground floor and beside a courtyard and right next to reception. It was a bit noisy but we remedied that with a white noise playlist.
Overall, we just wanted a clean place to stay and we wanted to get around with ease.

If you book this hotel do not pay in advance. When we arrived they told us they didn’t have a room for us and asked if we could stay at a similar property. That property was not nearly as nice even though both were three stars. When we discussed this the staff was dismissive about it. We ended up paying for another room last minute due to this.

We had 5 amazing nights in Rome at the Navona theatre hotel. The staff were all very friendly and welcoming upon our arrival and our room was ready prior to check in time which was a pleasant surprise. Housekeeping staff were also fantastic.

The central location also meant that we did not rely on taxis or public transport at all during our stay. Everything that we wanted to do/see was within a walkable distance.

I would recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Rome

First of all, we booked the Navona Theatre Hotel (***) but got a room at Adrianus Hotel (**). Adrianus Hotel - it is a flat with three of fore separate rooms which is situated 300-400 m out of Novona Theatre Hotel. Very loud place, if you open the window. If not open the window - you can't use the conditioner in cold mode. As staff told me - the owner of the hotel does not give permission to use a conditioner. No telephone in the room connected to the reception. The reception is closing at 22:00. What was good? The room was clean and friendly staff. It is not recommended to book this hotel in the future.

From the moment we arrived at the property, we were made to feel at home. The rooms were as expected, could perhaps use some updating, but overall good experience. We were provided an overview of the surrounding area, given a walkthrough of our room, HVAC remote, etc. Since we had an early flight out the next day, they offered to prepare a box-breakfast for us since we were going to miss it. We've never had a hotel offer to do this in years of travel, and the box breakfast was delightful. Their service is as good as any we received in Italy.

When our taxi driver dropped us off as this alley where the lobby was, we were shocked because the lobby was down a dark, graffiti-laden alley and the lobby was just the only door down the alley....the girl receptionist was very nice and she said that we were going to be in the annex, which was 2 streets down, which she had us follow her down the street....our keys unlocked this large double-door that didn't have any sign on them as to being the Novana Hotel Annex, but it opened to a room with about 20 steps up to this tiny elevator...we had to lug our 4 large suitcases up the steps and go up the elevator to the next floor, and then lug them down about 15 steps down to the landing where our room was...our room key opened another large door to where there was about 6 rooms, and then our key got us into room #3...the room was very nice with a view down the street...it was very quiet until about 7:30 every morning to be woken up by another guest leaving their room and slamming their door shut...the doors sounded like a bomb going off, so we didn't sleep in at all the 6 mornings.....we had so many suitcases because we were on 3 different cruise ships in the USA and did a trans-Atlantic cruise from Florida to Rome and spent a week in Rome......NOW THE GOOD PART OF STAYING AT THE HOTEL.....the annex was the BEST location we could have imagined in Rome....we walked out the doors to a vibrant atmosphere of restaurants, coffee shops, stores, a pharmacy and Rome life!!!!...

This place was not the bacons theatre hotel. What a scam. Nowhere on the booking does it actually say we’re staying in a completely separate run down building a block and a half away from the hotel. It smelled like moth balls and mould. There was no concierge. They made us drag the bags without any help to the new building and then drag them back to check out only to be told we didn’t need to do anything because we prepaid. Even though we called to ask if we had to come check out a couple days before. This place had mold growing in the frames and walls the lights were burnt out the rooms smelled nasty and so did the building and the drains are backed up. It’s close to some things but there are so many restaurants right below so it’s super loud and stinky if you open the windows.

Excellent choice if you’re staying in Rome.
The hotel is located at a 20-30’ walking distance to all main attractions: Vatican, Basilica di San Pietro, Colosseum, Castel Sant’Angelo, Fontana di Trevi, Pantheon. Plenty of restaurant and gelateria choices around.
The staff is friendly and good breakfast options.
Highly recommended.

first floor room with uneven floor and bars on the window was not very inviting. Lighting on the night stands was a bare very ugly bulb. Pillows were horrible. On a particular dirty ally. Nice folks running it but would not stay again.
NO SERVICE AFTER 10 PM DOORS LOCKED AND YOU HAVE TO USE A CARD TO ENTER WHICH WAS SO SO.

OK! With a few “comments”.

We recently visited and booked for the annexe room. This was two roads away from the main hotel in a separate building called the Antonis hotel, on the second floor.
Practicality wise with a baby, I wouldn’t book this room again. The stone pebbles with a pram from the main hotel to this room was quite difficult also with luggage and also the fact this room was on the second floor meant we had to climb to the first floor to get the lift (only fits 1 pram and 1 adult). The lift also didn’t stop exactly on the same floor as the room so we had to take a flight down the stairs to reach the room with pram etc.

The hallways of the Antonis building hotel were so hot. You are sweltering when doing all the above manoeuvres.

The room was very clean and nice. We liked it. A nice touch would have been if the hotel turned on the air conditioning prior to arrival so we could come to a cold room. Nonetheless it didn’t take more than 5 minutes to get cool but after the hallways of the building - you get to the room quite hot and bothered.

Also, we booked with a baby and there was no cot bed. We were told we had to request this, I wasn’t aware. This would have been nice to have already been put in our room as the hotel knew we had an under 1. Nonetheless he slept with us and the bed was big enough (2 singles put together).

The bed was comfortable.

Breakfast was a let down. Poor choices. The orange juice was fizzy (I didn’t say anything). Doesn’t matter.
