This property was clean and in a very neat location with stores and restaurants all around. It felt very safe. The people working there were quite rude and curt and never made us, or some other guests staying there while we were there, feel welcome. They were curt when answering questions. If you want a place that makes you feel welcome, this is not it. You must use three keys to get into the building, then their actual part of the building, then your assigned room. No food was available for breakfast as advertised.

Very small but couldn’t have found a more perfect location! Very centrally located, even in a busy area it was pretty sound proof! The room we stayed in was a family room and was perfect for me, my mom and sister. The beds are pretty hard but doable for a couple nights. I would definitely stay here again!!

The place was hard to find at first. Locanda Navona is within a building complex and by that I mean that its a building divided by different sections within itself and lets say the second floor is Locanda Navona and the rest are something different. It was hard to get the online access key to work, luckily there was somewhere there when we arrived who facilitated the check in. The front desk was nice and checked us in quick. The room itself was ok, small but it was cleaned and ok overall.

Had to pay city taxes with Euros.

Great location. Only complaint is, had to pay city taxes in Euros which I was not informed of that prior. All the other 7 hotels we stayed at for our 2 weeks vacation we were able to use a credit card. Due not knowing I had to use Euros, I had to find an ATM. I am fine with paying Euros but would have been nice to know in advance. All else was good.

The location is of course special. The room is not much and not a nice as the photos. I was unimpressed with the attendant. Perhaps this was all adequate. There is no lift so a flight of stairs. Noise was not a problem the inner doors on the windows are soundproof.
The room is not inspiring I didn't trust the outermost door however you get a special location at a very low price. I have stayed at another place right on Piazza Navona, Navona Stay. Not prefect but better then this and even better location and view.

We loved everything about the stay right down the road from Piazza Navona. The only potential issue was loud music until 2am on the weekend but if you want to stay in the heart of the city, that is to be expected.

Other reviews mention noise at night and yes there was a minimal amount of noise on one night of our four night stay but nothing to impede sleeping, rooms are sound proofed well and our family suite #106 was on first floor (2nd in USA) and everything was perfect! I’d recommend this property and stay here again.

When we were dropped off by our taxi we struggled at first to find the door to the apartments. The apartment owners could do better to explain where the doorway is located. However, the location of the apartment is fantastic and really close to Piazza Navrona and within easy walk of all the major attractions - Pantheon 5 min, Vatican 15 min, Roman Forum 15 mins etc. The downside to this central location is that it can be very noisy at night and the rooms are small.

Overall, it’s served our purpose for exploring Rome but I wouldn’t hurry back.

Location of Hotel Locanda is excellent. Within walking distance to nearly all historical
Sites and not to forget restaurants and shopping. Very friendly and helpful staff, large room with a view to a charming neighborhood, one really gets the feeling of being in Rome. I’ll be back for sure!

The Locanda is not a hotel. It is a set of rooms partitioned out of a single apartment a residential building. It is not well labeled and the two exterior doors are not pictured its photos. (You must first enter the exterior residential building door, then go up to the 1st floor to enter the apartment door to get into the part that is Locanda and its rooms. Only then do you find the small lobby off of which individual rooms are individually numbered.)

The exterior door had garbage piled up next to it. A loud pub is near by. It was not what was pictured or represented. I departed after the first night and stayed at a real hotel to save my trip to Rome. Laconda would not refund the remaining two unused nights.

Overall was disappointed. Would not stay again in this property, but would try other “hotel” in the building because the location is pretty good. The pictures are better than the actual place. ITS NOT A BED AND BREAKFAST. Its in an apartment building thats turned into a “hotel” (but is typical in italy). There IS NO BREAKFAST. Sheets felt paper thin, but bed is comfy overall. You have a mini (not full balcony) that overlooks the street. It can get loud at night, but not too bad. Its ok.

Great location - we were able to walk to various tourist spots and there were a ton of restaurants right outside the hotel. The bed was comfortable, and the room was clean. They provided water, juice, and snacks free of charge in the room. Be aware there is no elevator so you have to carry your luggage up one flight of stairs. We had large suitcases, but fortunately the staff helped us. I would stay there again.

Great location and nicely appointed room!

This property is not a traditional hotel, it only has 6 rooms on one floor of a very old building, about 150 yards from the Piazza Navona. That being said, this is not uncommon for the oldest parts of Rome. We never would have found it if our driver had not showed the door to us. Unfortunately we had the smallest room, although it was still larger than our Paris room! We would have preferred a larger room. The bathroom was a good size however, The daily snacks, the complimentary bottle of wine, the fridge and coffee were all nice touches and appreciated. Folks who worked the desk were very helpful and friendly, especially pre-arranging the transportation to and from the airport. 45 euros was definitely a good deal and much easier than a taxi or public transportation. Although right above a very touristy area, the room was 95% quiet at night from street noise. Any disturbance was worth being in such a prime location. Tons of shops and restaurants and attractions within easy walking distance. Although not a traditional hotel, it was a lovely stay and I would recommend this property.

Locanda Navona is in the PERFECT location. Every top monument is within comfortable walking distance, including the Colosseum and Vatican City. The hotel also provides daily coffee, water and juice in your mini fridge, which was a nice touch. The area surrounding the hotel, particularly Via del Governo Vecchio, is wonderful for food, drinks, restaurants and bars.

If we go to Roma again and I hope we do. Locanda Navona will be the first place I look for availability. The staff are very friendly and could not be more helpful. The location could not be better. Just two blocks or a 2 minute walk from Piazza Navona. Central to most of the other famous landmarks. Farthest, was the Colosseum at 25 minutes walk. Local amenities at the Locanda Navona where literally at your doorstep! For example, out of the front door turn left or right and you have a selection of coffee shops, pizzerias and delicatessen’s.

Great Stay in Great Location

We had a great experience staying at Locanda Novana. The staff was very helpful in ensuring we were comfortable. The returned my emails the next day with the many questions I had about the location, food, tours, cabs, metro, air conditioning, etc. They answered all my questions ahead of the trip. They spoke English which made it easier to communicate. They helped me get a cab from the airport to the Hotel. They called a cab company that I booked and helped them with directions to the hotel door steps. The location was perfect. Immediately outside the hotel were cafe's and pizza. A few minutes walks and you were in Piazza Novana. The room was clean and modern with greaet wifi connection. I would definitely recommend and book myself again.

Amazing location! Very helpful staff! It can get a little noisy late at night because of nearby bars but this is a great spot to be at! There's a very nice cafe just downstairs, perfect for your morning cappuccino and freshly-baked pastry! Free snacks and bottled water provided by the hotel was a bonus!

Was impressed by the guest ratings for this bizarre hotel. Saw a cockroach after a couple of hours out of the room. The night manager spent two hours yelling on the phone. It’s right above a party bar. The bed was moderately comfortable, but the room wasn’t particularly clean. “Breakfast included” is just granola/yogurt bar crap. Last night of our trip, huge disappointment.

Locanda Novana is in a spectacular location. Literally walk out your doorstep onto a street of vibrant shops, restaurants, and little 100 yards from an amazing piazza. Room was modern and comfortable, but a little on the smaller side. Despite being noisy outside, room was incredibly quiet and well insulated! A/C worked like a champ. Bed was very comfortable. Definitely would stay here again.

We stayed in the deluxe room for three nights. The rooms are on the first floor directly above a cafe/bar that stays open and plays music until 2am. Then at closing they seem to clean and every night we were kept awake by people moving around table and chairs until 4am + and that is no exaggeration- if you want to sleep DONT stay here!!!
Apart from that, it's in a good location to get to the main attractions and our room was clean and well presented. However we would definitely not recommend due to the noise, which is beyond the owners control, but nevertheless ruined what could/should have been a great stay.
Please avoid.

Located moments away from piazza Navona and with bars and restaurants in whichever direction yiu go from the hotel it's in a very good position . Located on a first floor with a huge Italian door you feel as though you're living like a local. Rooms are great and ours had a fantastic view of the busy scenes below. Fridge contained free water and juice and snacks which was replenished fully every day for free! This was possibly the best thing ever . Would highly recommend this hotel for Rome

A wonderful location just 2 mins from Piazza Navona. You really are located in the heart of old Rome within the narrow streets lined with restaurants and Pizzerias. Thouroughly recommend the coffee shop just below the accommodation. Coffee and croissant for less than 2 Euros. Some reviewers had commented about noise. I can confirm that since you are located in the heart of old Rome and above local eateries there is some music and noise into the late evening. However we never found it to be a problem as the windows provide ample sound proofing. Main Rome sites are within a 25 minutes walk at most. Thoroughly recommended and we would book this hotel again without hesitation

Lovely quaint guest house, hosts were wonderful rang bell and someone came down immediately to carry luggage up for us, quick check in, wonderful hosts nothing was too much trouble. Had not booked any tours; they had a contact ready who they phoned and arranged two tours for us. Room lovely and clean and comfortable, bathroom very clean, shower really nice. We stayed here for the first two nights of our honeymoon. Overall the experience was great. The hotel is comprised of a few rooms on the second floor of a shared building. Great small hotel to return to after long days sightseeing. Comfortable, clean thoughtfully laid out superior room with nice complimentary gestures - ie cakes & biscuits, water in fridge, slippers, toothbrush & paste; tv, mirrors & plug sockets well positioned. Welcoming, polite staff.

Perfect location within walking distance to all sights. Lots of bars and restaurants on doorstep, which does result in street noise but double glazing very effective & this did not disturb us.

Excellent taxi transfer to & from airport arranged by hotel.

Would not hesitate in returning or recommending this hotel.

Great location.

It was tricky finding the place but the hotel sent us directions and stressed that there is no outside visible sign of a hotel. Once inside, someone helped us with the luggage as we are one floor up..no elevators.
The staff could not be more helpful. The rooms were a delight, and breakfast things all layed out in the room.
You have to keep both sets of windows shut at night so you can't hear the noise on the street, if you do, it's nice and quiet in the room for sleeping.

The perfect spot to centre your stay!

I cannot give this hotel enough praise. After travelling for the past month, arriving at Locanda Navona felt like a holiday within our holiday! The staff were incredibly helpful and available, the room was clean and had everything we needed. The added bonus of complimentary snacks and drinks was just that....a bonus. All major attractions were within walking distance. I can't wait to recommend to friends and come back to stay once again!

This is small hotel located on first floor of usual building.
1. Excellent location, with 15-20 minutes walk to every tourist attractions (95%) in Rome
2. Good service.
3. Air condition was excellent
4. Internet is fast and good coverage in the room, but not exist outside of the building, which as advantage (A+++)
5. Small bar with fresh free water bottles (2pcs) every day + tea + kettle
6. no breakfast, but available outside the building 3 meters from entrance

Hotel was spotlessly clean, the staff could not do enough for you, we were given a map of Rome with all the attractions, bus routes etc marked on it and explained to us. We were also told to visit the fair which turned out to be more of a market that runs along the river, this was something that we did not know about but had a really nice time visiting, I assume this opens every evening in the summer, lots of stalls, open air eateries and some games. The location of this hotel could not be better it is so close to the Piazza Navona, there are good restaurants in the square, and in the roads leading to the square, I could honestly say that all of the main attractions were in half an hour walk. I would definitely stay here again and recommend it.

6 rooms only-- book early!

Loved it! Book early as there are only 6 rooms. Awesome value for the money, completely comfortable rooms with good amenities. *** No breakfast *** but downstairs is coffee shop etc. Is completely irrelevant and frankly closer than some large hotels' breakfast rooms. Can get a little noisy on Sat. nights, but didn't bother me. Book it and forget it-- you're getting a great value right in the thick of it in Rome. Staff wonderful-- I will stay here every time I visit Rome!

Loved our stay at Locanda Novana!!

After staying at hiltons during the first 2 segments of our Italy trip (one of which was the Hilton Sorrento resort) this hotel stacked up perfectly against them. If you are going to stay in the historic part of Rome, this is the spot to experience all the city has to offer. Overwhelming at first as this was our first trek to Eurpoe. Once we found the hotel, the managers and staff were completely helpful in detailing where we were, arming us with maps and made sure we knew how to get in touch with them if needed. Had everything standard needed to stay comfortably in the heart of Rome. Super clean! Best location!

Excellent Location

We absolutely loved this hotel. It is in the heart of the Eternal City and we could see the Piazaa Navona from our window (it was literally 200 meters away). The hotel is small, only 6 rooms, but they managed to meet our every need. We were greeted with a basket of treats on our first day and it just seemed like something new arrived everyday after. We were there on New Year's Eve and they sent us a complimentary bottle of champagne. It was very easy to communicate with the staff and they were able to arrange our shuttle to and from the airport with no problems or delays. The hotel is within walking distance of nearly everything including a bus stop and taxi station (on the other side of the Piazza Navona). I not only recommend this hotel but look forward to visiting it again myself very soon!

Great place, great price, great staff,

Great hotel an great location. Staff was very helpful. We were in the smallest room they had the 1wt night. It was a little small but have been in smaller and we were not there to spend time in our room. They offered to move us to a larger room after the 1st night without us even asking. Sat TV wasn't working, service providers problem, but with the free wifi was able to stream to my device. They coordinated private airport transportation to and from hotel that is less than the taxi fare. Pastry shop right next door and grocery with wine, beer, cheeses, meats and bread out the door to the left. Many restaurants just minutes away. Will definitely stay here again.

Hotel staff very informative stayed on 1st floor,room excellent with street views. Water and orange juice in fridge each day along with tea coffee and biscuits we took porridge sachets for breakfast but coffee shop next to hotel if wanted. I would definitely stay at this hotel when I return to Rome

Couldn't have been better

The location of this hotel could not be better. The nightlife in this area is wonderful. We had a balcony with our room and even though the street was right below, there was no noise since there is double set of window doors for the balcony. There was plenty of room for our luggage as well. The hotel staff were very helpful and very friendly. They assisted with our luggage and called cabs for us and let us keep our luggage there in storage past check out time. The only negative is that you have to ask for an iron and board if you would like one each day. Also, they were wonderful with providing water, juice, cookies and pastry every morning.

Great location near everything!

This is a perfect Rome hotel. It is located within walking distance to all the popular sightseeing sites (Piazza Navona, Vatican, Pantheon etc.) as well as shops and restaurants. The rooms are very clean and nice and the staff is helpful but discrete. It is quiet inside even though it's located in a busy part of Rome. Highly recommend!
