Average quality hotel

I usually stay at another similar hotel next door, but thought I would try this one for a few days.

Nice size room but very sparsely furnished. But found ladies hair all over it, so it had not been cleaned thoroughly. Shower pressure was awful and had to ask for the shower head to be replaced. It was mounted at chest height, so had to crouch to get under it to wash my hair. Mattress was lumpy. No kettle or hair dryer in the room.

On the plus side, there is a nice swimming pool, internet speed was excellent and staff very friendly. The price was reasonable for a hotel in a good location and included breakfast, although the selection was very basic.

Whilst I would not rule out staying there again, I would prefer to stay at the other hotel, which has been my favourite for over ten years.

Breakfast was poor, basically rice, noodles or Hot dog sausages.
Great location 10 minute walk each way to Walking St, Beach or Soi Metro.
Staff were friendly and helpful.
The toiletries in bathroom were just little sachets, so had to go out and buy shower gel.
Really frustrating that they wanted an extra 200 baht for any extra guests each night, considering it’s in Pattaya.

Desperately needing modernised.

The hotel really needs a revamp, the room I was in had broken floor tiles & the sink plug didn’t work. The shower curtain had mould on it & only 3 of the 4 room walls had been painted ?
At breakfast there was always Reserved tables but never anyone using them ?
The public Reception areas air conditioning was mostly turned off during the day.
The staff were nice enough, but I won’t be staying at this hotel again until it gets a make over & freshened up.

I stayed for nearly a month and my adult children a week. The WIFI on floor 8 doesn't work unless you stand at the doorway. They were moved 3 times due to broken shower heads, wifi and water being sprayed on the light above. I stayed where I was for the entire time, shower head had been taped. The cleaning staff were great. Reception took a bit to get them to smile but they do it tough with many grumpy tourists yelling at them. They were great after I got to know them. It really is great value and in a fantastic spot but the food, OMG, dreadful.

About 2 weeks in I complained the eggs have a skin on the yolk because they had been cooked so long ago and they were cold. They replaced these with eggs that had uncooked white around them then every other day old eggs again. The waiters often played on their phone rather than pick the plates up, or they picked your coffee up because you went for food then you had to make sure they didn't pick your food up when you went to replace the coffee. NO speak english any of them, that's fine I don't speak Thai but really, in a service industry surely one could.

Anyway the salad supplied had a mayo that had a crust just like the eggs, mostly the food was cold, boring and old. Their one saving grace was the Thai food and if you got it hot was delicious. I would stay again but question what floor the disgusting old men were staying on, as they had Sex workers screaming in the halls around 3am most nights.

Average hotel for a decent price

It's an average hotel. But probably for that price, it's decent.
Pros:
- Rooms were spacious
- Had basic toiletries, TV
- Had swimming pool
- Location was near to walking street (7 min walk)
Cons
- Definitely can be cleaner, we found some cockroaches as well
- Bathroom ventilation can be improved
- Food choice for breakfast can be improvided quite a bit (very less choice for vegetarians, no egg counter, no sides for porridge etc)
- Staff can be more friendly.

I didnt stay even one night .. so dirty and a really bad customer service.. they were so rude to us .. the breakfast room was so dirty no food is good.
I suggest to take off this hitel from ur list and please do not recommend it to any of ur clint at allll.
I have to book another hotel for my stay in pattaya the hotel was 100% clean and very professional service.

Noisy, noisy, inconsiderate Indians from India!

I have been staying at this hotel for the past number of years. Although not the best it was acceptable. However this time I and other guests complained on a few occasions about the noise coming from the rooms, the loud chatter in the passages, the slamming of doors and the shouting by other guests arriving from a night out early in the morning. All this by guests from India. Furthermore the Indian guests would talk on the top of their voices in the dining room during breakfast and allow their children to mess all over the place. The Indians from India (I asked) need to be informed of hotel etiquette. The management of Welcome Plaza needs to pay attention to the chipped, cracked and stained cups and sauces. This is a health hazard and totally unacceptable. This issue was discussed with the staff in the dining room and was informed that they have requested replacements of same months ago. Oh and the cockroaches in the room! Everyday I would kill 3 to 4 cockroaches. I was informed that the hotel was fumigated recently that is why the roaches are around. Nonsense they should of been dead! And the miserable reception staff, all but one would greet. They look at you and wait for you to speak. Totally unacceptable. The only reason I chose to stay at this hotel was it's location and that it offered an inclusive breakfast. I will certainly NOT be going back there until the is a vast improvement. There are other hotels of similar price range that would be better.

I was in this hotel last year and liked it for the location. it was ok. but this year the staff were not friendly. At one stage I felt they are doing me a favour by giving me a room. they had stone faces, they need a crash course in smiling technique and told how to say Sawaasdee karp. very off putting. every thing else was so so. Good. value for money I guess. but I wont be coming back to those stone faced receptionists.

The bed had metal frame protruding from mattress

The mattress had metal frame shape protruding from the mattress. I asked to change the mattress and I was told they were all the same.

Also, there was mix up in my booking as somehow I reserved a room for one (I thought it was two), but my breakfast was for two. I asked Expedia to explain that to me and their service was worse than the hotel's mattress.

I had booked my room for two nights through expedia. I checked out after one night. Horrible!

Nice pool area and large rooms. AC was never very good in the room. Reception and restaurant staff are rude, cleaners were nice. Breakfast is not great and ends at 10am. At 9:40 I asked for coffee, the employee looks at his watch and walks away. At 9:50 they shut off the lights, music and AC while there were still 25 guests in the room.

The bed is hard as rock, the spring of the bed was poking my back as it is very thin. I could not sleep at all as it was very uncomfortable.

The staff at the restaurant was very rude, he accused my travel companion of stealing food from the buffet because she put her bag on the floor. He approached us and pointed to her bag and said \"No food\". We were shocked! We showed him there was no food in the bag.

Check in and check out process was painfully slow!!

Not recommended to anyone!

I went in the first day to register. I've prepaid for 3 nights. I end up staying with a friend that night so I never returned until 3 pm next day.
What a sh@@ show. They had thrown out my deposit slip for the 1000 bt deposit. Also, I had put the two bottles of water in the fridge that was now gone and 2 were on top of the fridge Try as I might I could not get them to get me 2 more bottles of water for my room that I hadn't drunk.

Hotel policy I was told.
Policy for what? To go in the fridge and take out two full bottles and put them on top of the fridge and not leave the next days water behind? Yes.
I ended up getting another hotel and will just use this for the view and shower when out and about in the area for the next few days.
Never again and stay clear of this rinky dink sh@@ show.

They couldn't find my key I'd left at front desk. They thought I'd checked out??? On the first night?????
Had to ask for a DO NOT DISTURB sign. Seriously. Stay away from this dive.

Further review for same stay 12-14/8/17 as the first one (somehow!) got scored 5/5 (certainly NOT by me!). Review reads - Old and tired hotel located in a car park for noisy tour buses. Uncomfortable beds and noisy aircon. The staff are awful and literally hate all guests. Worst service in many trips to Asia. All non white women are assumed to be hookers.

Just a place to Sleep

It's an OLD property. Rooms are big but showing their age. Plumbing is terrible. No hot water in both my rooms. I was moved from the first room because the shower was broken. Breakfast is mediocre at best. Not worth the money or time. The King sized bed in my suite was comfortable. For the price of $34, not bad. Great location. Close to Walking Street and plenty of restaurants. 15 minutes walk to the main mall. Close to a ton of great bars.

My experience at this hotel was really bad. Hotel looks big and nice from outside but once you enter and go to the reception, all your perception about the hotel will change completely. We went to the hotel reception and got really with sarcastic and rude behavior of the receptionist. Further when we been asked to check in to the room, we not been accompanied by any staff just to let us reach the room. They don't really care about you as customer.
About the cleanliness, the hotel must be given a 0 rating. Near to lift the cigarette/dust bin was so dirty that you would feel like vomit.
We are really disappointed.

This hotel is one of those \"okay\" hotels. It's an old building so when you pause to look around, you can see many flaws due to its age. I had actually booked and paid for a \"city-view suite\", but was given a large, nice enough city-view room and not a suite. Once the neighboring room's residents got too loud late at night, I brought the room detail to the manager's attention. She said there are actually no city-view suites at all, only pool-view (come on Hotels.com - - let's get it right!), so I agreed to move to one of those rooms. Sadly, my room did not overlook the pool, only some trash and an elementary school. Ah well. The really nice thing about this place are the friendly staff and the cool, clean pool. The breakfast buffet is terrible. The food is cold and there is not much of an \"international\" vibe to it. I ate there the first couple of days, then skipped it from then on. Not much of a selling point feature. The hotel is near a lot of places such as shopping malls, restaurants, laundry service, money exchange booths, easy taxis, and night club \"go-go\" places, oh and plenty of massage joints: \"Hello mister . . . massage?\" was heard quite frequently. So, it's an okay hotel with plenty of amenities nearby. Oh, as most hotels, the Wi-Fi sucked!

It is worth staying at the Welcome Plaza Hotel just for the very large swimming pool and large bedrooms but unfortunatly that is where it ends.The whole place does not have any management structure whatsoever.You cannot get any sense at all from the very young reception staff,They say they have room service and when you ask for menu they cannot find one.You try and ring for room service and no one answers the phone.At breakfast do not eat the fried eggs as they are always very cold.They have them standing in trays just outside the kitchen for one or two hours and then fill up the so called heated trays when they are empty.They say they have Wifi in the rooms but for two thirds of the day cannot get a signal.In two weeks had hot water only once.

I liked this hotel, and the location of the hotel was excellent. Apart from the staff which wasn't very friendly and also they were making some jokes behind us as well.

before I book this hotel, I was thinking that this hotel will have some vegeterian breakfast in the way the grand bella hotel is providing for the vegeterian people. There was nothing to eat for me and my friend.. rest of the experience was not that bad. Overall experience was good with the room, room service, swimming pool, and the locationwise.

We have stayed here many many times. Sometimes we just phone them and reserve and if we want to use credit card then we use Expedia or Agoda.
We know the staff and they know us. The pool is great, big, clean and with very reasonable food and drinks.
Central position on second road, near bars and resturants.

A pleasant stay with everything nearby.

From the seventh floor there are amazing views of the Gulf of Thailand. A few hundred feet from the front entrance is Second Road where there are plenty of places to eat, shop, or get a 1 hour massage for 200 baht. Walk down one of the side streets and you are at Beach Road. The complimentary breakfast is a buffet with everything from salad, stir fry, to french toast and scrambled eggs. With a comfortable experience, I recommend staying here.

My 1st time in Pattaya. Very nice hotel. Recommended by friends. Will sure come back again with friends

Hotel to avoid

- Aircon not working
- Luke warm water in shower if you let it run for 15 mins before taking a shower.
- Unfriendly staff at lobby
- Guest visiting needs to pay thb 300 per visit. If 2 persons visit then pay thb 600 etc.
- Same breakfast every day. Not great and no variety.
- Very warn down and outdated interior of room
- No WiFi in rooms, only in lobby and slow.

Did not invite my friend from Holland, who came over from BKK, to my room but I stead met in lobby due to the thb 300 they charge.
I understand if someone stays the night, but a social visit and insist on getting extra money for that.
Need I say more. This hotel NEVER again!!!

Easy to go to walking street and community mall

This hotel is easy to find and comfort for looking a shopping place or the night of pattaya. Just walk for 5 minutes to walking street.
The room is o.k. It's good for the pool that has been seperated adult and children zone. More of customers are not Thai.

Was not worth it never wanted to stay again.

Was not satisfied, no wifi in rooms ,security is poor,bed was so old the bed spring was up when you touch the bed ,service was poor.

pattaya again

pattaya is nice,even though still mourning the king ,things were just about the same as normal,non stop partying,nice area to rent motorbike and tour around to 1000000 year old animal park ,the temple (nice souvier shop there where ladies from militaty men make items at selll at very low costs toward jomptien up on the hill,was only a short journey from phillipines were i recide in the winters from the cold in usa

No wifi in the rooms and no security lockers in the roons if these two are not present there is no use renovating when basics have not been provided.

Good location, lovely swimming pool, not too cold.

Only complaints are, the eggs were cold at breakfast and couldn't get WiFi in the room. Also, would be good if cushioned sunbeds were provided.

Booked with Expedia over the phone paid double what i thought it was worth. No hot water, shower in bath and did not work. No lift althought its only 3 floors. Wifi wasn't great. Staff helpfull, Hotel in quiet street

Huge rooms, all basic aminities, excellent pool, but very average breakfast. Good location. close to beach, walking street, and garden plaza mall.
overall good hotel.

AVOID AT ALL COSTS

We eventually got a room with a double bed and a bath after four attempts, and even trying to upgrade. The pool area looked very bare of guests. and we saw very few at breakfast the following morning so I don't think they were full by any stretch of the imagination.

Smooth stay, mostly enjoying the pool. The hotel has really good customer service and it's placed very close to the walking street which makes it easy to access.
