What a gem!

The hotel could not be more perfect. Beautifully maintained, great pool a f a short walk to Black Beach. Lots of restaurants, supermarket and bakery within walking distance. The owners were extremely helpful in all their suggestions and are arranging transport. Would visit again.

This is a wonderful place to stay, we were there for 8 nights and Perissa itself is much quieter than Oia and Fira but in a good way. Plenty of restaurants, bars AND just a short walk to the beach (no hills).

Be prepared to fall in love with this Greek delight and not want to leave.

For cat lovers out there, there are plenty to feed and love - local market sells cat kibble 🐈‍⬛

We stayed here for our honeymoon and had the best time! We loved how friendly the owners were and how close it was to the beach and restaurants. We visited other towns during our stay but we spent a few days lounging by the pool, drinking and playing card games and it was amazing! Highly recommend!

Can hear the toilets flush in the other rooms that's about the only downside of the room, the walk to the beach is about 3 mins down the road, busses are on a timetable but your just as well guessing your own but that's not the hotels fault, all in all it's a great hotel in a great location for the price you pay.

The villa is very clean, has a nice swimming pool and the staff is super attentive to details. The room was cleaned everyday, fresh towels provided daily and the air con in the room made our stay much more pleasant in the hot weather.
Perissa beach is just 5 min walk from the hotel, with many restaurants and bars.
There are also shops in walking distance, so you have everything you need in the area.

The only down side was the man who insisted my grandson only go in the baby side of the pool despite him being a good swimmer and having 3 adults in the pool looking after him.

We had an amazing stay at Villa Valvis. Staff are so professional, friendly, approachable and they make you feel at home. This little hotel is the best place to spend your holiday in Santorini. It’s affordable, clean and drinks are good and not too expensive compared to other places, swimming pool is the right size. Villa Valvis is located 300 metres from Perissa beach where you can find really good restaurants. Also located 5 min walk from a delicious bakery, markets and other shops. There’s also an information centre on the main road which is helpful if you require tips about Santorini and want to book a tour. We booked a boat tour to the volcano and the other cute island. Really good tour!!! Then we hired a car and went to Fira and Oia for the sunset.
Marina is so lovely and full of positive energy.
This hotel is highly recommended. Thank you everyone for making our stay so good.

Lovely place and hosts were fabulous and nothing too much trouble. We were given a semi basement room but this had a nice outdoor seating area. Room was spotlessly clean with fresh towels everyday and clean bedding every other day. Close to beach and bars/restaurants. Would highly recommend.

What a lovely little hotel. The couple who run the hotel couldn’t be more helpful or friendly. The rooms are very clean with towels and bed linen changed regularly. The only thing missing in the room for me was a long mirror. The pool bar is great for breakfast, snacks and drinks, but could do with selling ice creams, but to be honest I’m nitpicking. The location is a short walk to plenty of bars/restaurants and the beach. These is a lovely supermarket and bakery just up the road.
I wouldn’t hesitate to book this hotel again.

Loved this little hotel! Lovely young couple who own it couldn't be more helpful and nothing was a problem to them. Rooms were spotlessly clean, beds changed every other day and clean towels every day. Nice little bar near the pool with very reasonably priced drinks. No problem getting a sunbed no matter what time of day you went to the pool. Pool was quite cold but very refreshing once you got in it. Would definitely recommend this hotel and would be sure to stay here again when visiting Santorini.

I would recommend staying here if you want to be close to the bus stop or the beach. It was an alright experience. Beds weren't that comfortable, wind was coming in through door so room was fairly cold, coffee cups and maker but nothing to make coffee, when i went the hotels nearby were all under construction so not the prettiest view. Pool is great as long as it's a sunny day. The bar doesn't have enough options, so never used it (however there is a bar right next to the hotel that's pretty good so not the worst thing. Unless like myself you want to drink daiquiris next to the pool) Would probably stay here again for the convenience of the hotel.

Quiet hotel with friendly staff

This hotel was clean and quiet. Although the hotel isnt decorated with the latest designs or modern facilities, it was still a lovely place to stay. The views outside the hotel are not great, but the beach is only a 5 minute walk away. As are the local bars and restaurants.
The room is cleaned daily and towels replenished. The room was equipped with a fridge, and a kettle.
The staff are very friendly, and certainly go the extra mile to ensure you have a great stay.

We had a lovely stay at the hotel for the 5 days that we were in Santorini. The room was very clean when we arrived and the hotel staff went out of their way to accommodate us. The pool at the hotel is wonderful. When we checked out, they let us keep our luggage behind the pool bar for 6 hours or so until our flight left. They also called us taxis on multiple occasions which was very nice! If we could change anything, it would be the wifi connectivity, which was abysmal in the room. It would take over 15 minutes to load one web page and it was much easier to just walk to the beach and use the wifi at one of the many restaurants. I highly recommend they install access points in each room to fix this problem. Another issue we had was with the cleaning woman moving our shoes in the room to clean the floor. Normally this would be fine, but she piled all of our shoes on top of one another and never moved them back, which was frustrating because some of our shoes were wet. Other than these things, the room was amazing and we would absolutely stay here again.

AMAZING place to stay at. Marina, the hotel owner, is the absolute best. She's there 24/7 and is so willing to help you plan your day, answer any questions, make calls for you, etc. Great vibe to the hotel, very relaxing and private but not isolated from the rest of Santorini. Black Sand beach is a minutes walk away, as well as many food places, 24 hr bakery, bus stop. Very clean room, great showers, A/C, TV, outlets, everything.

Reasonably clean and comfortable. Linens and towels clean and in good condition. Some windows did not close tightly and rattled when windy. Hot water only during the afternoon initially; took 2 days to rectify. Problems with the shower drain due to cleaner not removing hair adequately. Friendly and helpful staff. Near a supermarket and \"24-hour\" bakery open 05:00-23:00. Nice pool. Small refrigerator in the room, but no desk/table or chair in the room Table and 2 chairs outside the door. Internet very slow in the evening.

Nice appartments although our room was rather small. The bathroom could do with updating. Nice to have a hairdryer, kettle and fridge. It was cleaned every day and the sheets were changed often.
The pool was well looked after and clean. Plenty of sunbeds and shade or sun available. The owners were very nice and friendly. We were coming to the end of the season so facilities were being run down.

The hotel was only 10 minutes walk away from the beach and all the restaurants.
It's a typical small Greek hotel.
Lovely clean pool area, plenty of sun beds and a little bar. I don't think they did food. The owners are very nice and friendly.
Our room was cleaned every day and we had fresh towels and bedding every day too.
The only complaint I have is we went self catering......when we got there we had a fridge, kettle, 2 cups and 2 spoons!!!!!! Now, not that we wanted to cook but we would have liked to have had breakfast and make some lunch!!!
We didn't let it spoil the stay, we went out and bought some plastic plates and glasses and borrowed a knife!!! But I did feel it was a bit of a let down in that respect.
I'd stay again tho!!

Meticulous attention to detail, ranging from the position of sunbeds to the cleanliness of the pool. As for the pool the jacuzzi feature was a nice touch. In addition the location is perfectly situated close to the 'high street' facilities of super market, bars and restaurants as well a short three minute walk to the beach and the various bars and restaurants. Jackie and the team were happy to assist with any questions and offer advice.

Great place to stay on a budget

I stayed here in a triple studio room with my sister and cousin and it was exactly what we needed. The location is perfect! A short five minute walk gets you to the beach strip which is lined with restaurants, shops and bars. A two minute walk gets you to a 24 hour bakery and a grocery store. The room was ok, a little dated and the shower was a little finicky but everything functioned just fine. There is A/C that you can control which is nice and our room had a small fridge which was perfect for picking up food at the little grocery store around the corner. The best part of this place is the staff - they're extremely welcoming, helpful and accommodating.

I don't usually write reviews but I feel that this hotel deserves one! Villa Valvis is a nice place to stay. It's 10 minutes away from Perissa Beach and close to restaurants, stores and the bus stop that takes you to the bus terminal in Thira (where you can take buses to other places, such as Oia). However, it's a little far from the port.
The staff is amazing! They gave us information about buses and places to go. They are extremely helpful and very nice!!!
Finally, the rooms are comfortable and they have air conditioning and a fridge. They are clean and spacious. The pool is not big but seems very clean and looks very nice at night. Breakfast costs 4 euros and I think it's a good price for what you get.
I would recommend this hotel if you want to stay close to the beach and scape the crowds and noise from Thira and other popular places.

Amazingly helpful staff

Villa Valvis is perfectly situated. A 2 minute walk to the beach, easy access to a bus stop going into the capital, and most importantly, very close to the Santa Irini Bakery. We ate from here every morning, it's so good! The staff were super helpful, booking us taxis, letting us stay late, telling us anything we wanted to know about the island or how to get around it. Santorini is great, and when we come back, we'll definitely stay here again.

Amazing staff that were very helpful throughout our stay, and a short walk to the beach, shops and restaurants. The rooms were very clean and what we needed for a one night stay. Pillows were great but the bed not so much, and the door had a window without a shade on it where a light from the neighbor directly across would shine in, particularly on the right side of the bed right into my eyes which made my sleep difficult.

Very convent to the beach (5 minute walk) and food market (two minute walk). Very quite with a nice pool. It is a budget hotel, so the room was pretty small, at least by US standards. The mattress was a little too firm for me, but after I talked to the owner, she provided me with a foam pad which helped greatly. The owner, Marina, was very helpful with whatever we needed. Some have complained that there were no beach towels provided, but they were good about replacing the in room towels while we were on an excursion. The one problem we had was a sticky door lock. It happened twice. Once was the morning of our early departure and we thought we were going to have to crawl out the window to catch our transfer. Luckily one last hard slap on the handle got it to working. There are no phones in the room.

A great place to stay in santorini. Perissa beach, 24hr bakery and supermarket are all very short walks away. The air-conditioning in the room works really well (life-saver), the rooms are cleaned everyday by a very friendly lady, the pool is kept spotless round the clock. The staff at the pool bar are incredibly friendly - drinks brought to you with free nuts :-) also the drinks are cheap. The wifi is free and works pretty good outside round the pool area. We found the pool was nearly empty most of the time - in July which was a surprise. Book this place, you wont regret it.

Greeted at midnight by Marina who showed us to room 1 next to the pool and gave us some info about the area and where to head to eat. Typical basic Greek style room but with great bathroom.. Shower cubicle with doors! Kettle and fridge but not full self catering facilities so check out other rooms if this is important. Fantastic pool with jacuzzi section. Location is 2 mins walk to main road, bakery and supermarket and 5mins in other direction to the beach. This was the better end of the beach for me as much quieter and close to Perivolos for a change of scene. Great value for money and helpful friendly owners. Book it and prepare to relax in paradise!

Perfect value for money-would definitely recommend

The villa is very clean and is serviced daily. No concerns regarding the room. The couple who own the villa are very friendly and accomodating. Located in the villa is a swimming pool and bar by the pool which is open from 09:00 to 21:00. The villa is a 3-5 minute walk from the beach which also houses the restaurants and bars along the beach strip. It's also a 1 minute walk from the main road (and bus stop) which has transport links to the rest of the island. 3-5 minutes walk away along the main road is a 24 hour bakery which is definitely worth a visit as well as a supermarket and other amenities such as an ATM and vehicle hire. We hired a 2 seater beach buggie to travel around the whole island which is very small, of which we visited the main towns such as Fira and Oia amongst other destinations in one day. Definitely worth considering a vehicle hire to travel around the island, as was recommended to us prior to our travel.

We stayd at the hotel for 4 nights, it is owned by a lovely couple who were very friendly and helpful at all times. The hotel itself is small and very quite(Just a bit off the main road of perissa). The pool was also very nice and rooms were kept clean daily. Overall perfect stay, very close to everything(bus, bar, market etc)yet very quite, friendly and homely feeling.

2 Wonderful Peaceful Weeks

If you're looking for somewhere to relax and unwind this is the spot. My husband and I just spent a long awaited holiday here and we couldn't have picked anywhere better. The location of Perissa we found to be great as it was really chilled out unlike Fira and Oia which are full to the brim with eager tourists! The location of the hotel is a walk away from the great black beach and the main high street. There are lots of restaurants and bars to choose from and food is reasonably priced. Our room was just what we needed (including air con). The pool was lovely and the family who run the business were so welcoming and helpful. We honestly couldn't have been happier with our holiday.

The staff were great, there was a nice pool and the pool bar was open all hours. Continental breakfast was good for 4 euros each. It was about 300 mtrs from the nearest bit of beach and 50 mtrs from the bus stop to the capital, Fira. There was a kettle, 2 mugs and a fridge but no cooking facilities.

We enjoyed it at Villa Valvis and the English-speaking manageress was very helpful with local info and arranging a transfer back to the airport. Her husband was pleasant too. Like most places in Greece, the mattresses are hard so extra padding under the sheets may be necessary for people who suffer from bad backs.

It's possible to walk up to ancient Thera, which overlooks the village from a large headland, if you are fit. Alternatively, you can go up on donkeys or mules. There's also a boat service around the headland to Cameri and then you can take the road-train up to the ancient city for 10 euros (24 hairpin bends make for an interesting ride). The views are great.

Handy for beach

We were very happy at Villa Valvis. It was simple accommodation but a fridge and kettle meant that we could do a certain amount of basic self catering. Sitting on the balcony outside our room for evening drinks and snacks was very relaxing. The pool was very handy and we swam in it every day as well as swimming at the beach which is just a ten minute walk away. Maria and Mikailis were very pleasant and helpful hosts. The only negative was that the booking system led me to believe that I had booked a studio apartment with self catering facilities which meant that I was very disappointed initially at not having those additional facilities. It seems that other people had also had this problem as Maria said this had happened before.

Friendly hotel near the beach

This hotel is very near to Perissa beach and the local bakery which is very popular! The pool is small but perfect for a few lengths and to cool off in the heat.
The owners were extremely friendly and even let us stay in our room for an extra day as our flight home was so late.

Great if you're on a budget

The hotel is great if you're on a budget.
Pros: free wifi, has a pool, close to the beach, very clean, the hair dryer was brilliant (I had friends staying in much posher hotels and their hair dryers were dreadful), the staff were lovely - very friendly, welcoming and happy to advise you on buses and beaches and closest shops etc. Good shower water pressure. Good air con. The hotel is quite close to a bar but I didn't hear any noise or music blaring at silly o'clock in the morning.
Cons: quite far from the main area but not too bad if you don't mind taking a bus which is far cheaper than taking taxis if there is only 1 or 2 of you staying. The bus is between 2 - 3 euros whereas a taxi to the main area is 20 euros. I had no curtain in my room, only a net curtain which was annoying as I had to get dressed in the bathroom which was quite small. Also, the lack of curtain meant that I woke up at about 7 as it was so bright.
Really for the price you can't complain but it all depends what you're looking for on your holiday. If you want to be near where all the action is then I would suggest booking somewhere closer but if you just want to stay somewhere clean and close to the beach and restaurants then I would be happy to recommend this place and would stay again :)

Convenient position- excellent staff!!

Lovely, kind staff that work here- the cleaner was fantastic, the owners were so helpful and hospitable.. We lost our room key and they went to the key cutting shop strait away and gave us another one free of charge.. The pool was perfection- 👌 it's situated right down the road from the most famous beach with loads of cheap restaurants!!

Villa Valvis are excellent value. You are made most welcome by the owners. The pool was ideal and well maintained. Some days we had it to ourselves. The accommodation was the best we have had in Santorini and this was our third visit to the island.

A perfect location and so relaxing

Wonderful place to stay. The owners Michaelis and Marina were so kind and couldn't do enough to help us. Our room was lovely as was the pool and bar area. The maid changed our towels and bedding every day which was so good to see and her towel art amused us every day! The location was great with bars and cafes on the beach 5 mins away. A 24hr Bakery was just up on the main street as was the bus stop. This is a great place to stay, cheap bar prices served with a smile and friendly faces by the pool.

Very nice room, hotel is very well run

I would definitely recommend this hotel for any one to stay in Perrissa, Santorini. Marina and husband-(can't remember his name-Sorry!) were fantastic. From the moment we arrived , they greeted us with genuine smiles and acceptance and could not do enough for myself and my travelling companions. Every day the room was cleaned and new towels and sheets were changed. They gave recommendations of places to visit, eat and cost of either taxis or buses. The pool was fantastic and the location of the hotel was 5 minutes up the road from the beach!!. Only 2 negative things I would say is that the A/C needs to be a bit updated but I was told that they would be improving the systems, and that all the rooms should have a kettle-(but that's me being British!). In all I would definitely give a rating of 4.5

Villa Valvis was excellent we wanted, good value, clean rooms, great locatoin and the owners really care about their guests.If I had to pick a negative, it would be that the sound proofing of the rooms was not great and therefore sleep could be distrubed. excellent value for money otherwise.

Lovely little villa

This hotel offers a great location that is just a few minutes walk to the beach and restaurants. The immediate Surrounding area was not really very developed or busy, but the hotel itself had a beautiful pool and was very picturesque. The cleaner did a great job everyday, and the owners were so kind and very helpful in any way. They were always there if you needed them. Only downside we had was that we expected 'breakfast included' based on what our booking told us but this simply included them making you toast, juice and coffee in the morning. Still appreciated, but not really the full breakfast we expected. Also the beds were extremely uncomfortable and the pillows were super flat. Our recommendation is to have several drinks before you try to go to bed ;) overall, lovely stay for the amazing price but the rooms could use some upgrading.

Lovely friendly hotel with local feel

Villa Valvis is a beautiful hotel in a beautiful location. The rooms are a good size with balconies and tvs. Very clean and comfortable, with amazing towel art daily!

Marina is very helpful and is always around the property.

The pool is clean and has adequate sunbeds, umbrellas and mix of sun and shade.

There is a bus stop 1 min walk away and a 24 hour bakery, supermarket and atm about 3 mins walk away. The beach can be viewed from the hotel and is a 5 min walk.

I would recommend in a heartbeat and will stay here again when I come back to Santorini.

STAY STAY STAY AT THIS HOTEL

I will make this review brief and to the point. The owners of this property work tireless to keep the guest rooms and pool in IMMACULATE condition. I could eat off the floors in our (newly renovated) enormous suite. Marina is the sweetest lady and very knowledgeable about where to go on Santorini Island. This was my best hotel in Santorini in the 4 years I have visited. The beach is less than 10 minute walk. Driving or buses to Fira is only 20 minutes. Great restaurants within a 2 - 5 minutes walk from the hotel. Also, throughout the day or late at night the hotel is calm and quiet. Around the corner from the hotel is a 24 hour bakery with honey glazed, nutella-stuffed, croissants that will make you even happier you choice Villa Valvis!

We stayed in a great hotel. It was quiet and peaceful. The hotel is about a kilometre away from the black sands and restaurants of Perissa Beach. There is a bakery, grocery store and bike rental shop right around the corner. The hotel has a pool where we can sit and relax. We had a studio apartment and although we didnt use the kitchen, we did appreciate the extra space. The bathroom was a little on the small side. The service we received was awesome. AC and WiFi worked perfectly. A great and inexpensive place to stay.

Great hotel in Santorini.

Our experience in this hotel was brilliant from start to finish. When we first arrived we managed to get lost and the hotel owner came to pick us up free of charge (for future reference if you get the bus from Fira to Perissa, get off just before Perissa at 'Agious Antonios' and turn down the road with the 'Young Bar' on the corner).

The room was spacious and had everything we needed and the bathroom looked like it had been recently re-done. We looked right out onto the pool which was great.

The location is perfect, minutes walk to the beach, as well as other resources, including by far the best bakery I've ever been to!

The owners are a lovely couple who were always friendly and helpful.

Book it!

We stayed at Villa Valvis as a friend was getting married on Santorini. The villas are lovely and clean with a pool and jacuzzi built into it. The bar is stocked and manned brilliantly and whatever the owners can help you with they will - we borrowed an iron and they telephoned our transfer for us! The beach and restaurants are are a 2 min walk, brilliant bakery and supermarket just around the corner! We could not recommend a visit to Villa Valvis more!!

Villa Valvis in May 2013

This hotel was recommended to us by a friend who is a beach bum the whole time he is in Greece (3 weeks every year). When we arrived it was a bit cool so we didn't get to enjoy the pool until the 2nd day there after we spent the day at the black beach which is conveniently located very close by within walking distance. The hotel is even closer to the main strip in Perissa that contains several restaurants, taverns, bakeries, grocery stores, etc.

The hotel owners are great people and will help you out in any way that they can. They took a phone call and message for us from our wedding photographer while we were out touring the island (who otherwise couldn't get in touch with us). We were also meeting with our wedding photographer the night before flying out to Toronto and she thought we had a laptop with us so she didn't bring one along to show our pictures. She asked the owners if she could use their laptop for a few minutes out by the pool so she could show our photos to us and they gladly allowed us to use it! This was above and beyond for us!

Great people, great place, great country!

Excellent value in Perissa

The hotel has a nice pool and sunbathing area as well as a bar. It is situated in a great location right off the main road and in close walking distance to the black sand beach.
The rooms were very nice with 2 sinks and a counter top with lots of room to spare. The rooms are also cleaned everyday.
The only downsides to the place was the door lock was difficult to use and the rooms weren't very sound proof. The location of Perissa is also only good if you want to go to the beach (but not the hotels fault)
