Beautiful view of the stream from our room. Only problem is that the ice is in the laundry room, which is locked from 10pm-7am. The parking lot is definately an off-road situation - gravel and holes.

Also, nice area of the property that you can walk to the river and have a seat in a few chairs. The Argo is within walking distance to a few restaurants. Price during the week was very reasonable. We knew going in that the Argo is a budget hotel. It's clearly an older property and we weren't expecting the Ritz. The bed was clean and comfortable, which is the most important thing. The room has a cute little patio overlooking Clear Creek. The room was really cold when we arrived, and it look a while for it to warm up. The shower was ok, but the water never really got hot. It was barely warm, and I was more chilled getting out than when I got in. Towels were another issue. There were only 2 bath towels; not enough for a couple. The coffee set up was also inadequate. There was only 1 each of regular coffee, decaf, tea, and cocoa; also not enough for a couple. The tv worked fine, but there we were unable to find any movie channels, or any info on how to navigate the available ones.

As you pull into the parking lot, you see an old and weathered building next to the Argo mine. If you were looking for a pristine Rocky Mountain wilderness, this place is not it. Yet it is conveniently located near Denver, which was my main concern. So I was delighted to discover that the room was super comfortable and clean, with a balcony looking out onto Clear Creek. I enjoyed sitting on the balcony and listening to the water rushing by while I ate delicious takeout from Eric's, next door.
The sheets, towels, shower curtains, everything seemed new, clean, and even elegant. I mean, this place was less than $100 a night, but it was one of the most comfortable and enjoyable places I have stayed. I spent two nights and walked everywhere and will choose this place if passing through the area again.

We are from KC. You can not beat the value of a place like Argo Inn. Clean and convenient.

It was a great location. An easy walk to downtown and right on the river. The room was Very clean but the door didn't close very tightly and I could see a Lot of daylight around the door in the morning and a lot of cold air was coming in around the door. They need to add some weather stripping. The gentleman at the front desk was very kind and helpful.

I love being on the river. The ambiance is great. Location is great and a short walk to the Smokin’Yards BBQ with fantastic beef brisket.

They did, however, offer a discount (did not say how much) for my next stay. I did ask for a credit which they would not offer. All that being said, I would def stay again. The room had not been maintained in years. While the bed is fine and the nightstands and dresser are attractive, there are lots of problems. There is mold all around the ceiling in the bathroom. The fan in the bathroom does not work so we had to open the outside door and turn on the room air to ventilate. The gas fireplace works but is so filthy that it absolutely stinks when burning. There are big strips of adhesive - 1" X 6" - in the middle of the bathroom mirror and a big, black chip in the sink. There is no sink stopper or cap on the faucet. Anywhere that used to have something hanging still has the holes and/or keepers in the walls. The wallpaper on the bedroom side of the shower is falling off probably due to wetness from the shower. The sliding door to the outside is extremely difficult to open because the wheels are bad. There are decorations above the fireplace that used to be attractive but they're so dirty that they're gross. The entry door turns green when swiping the keycard but doesn't always unlock. By the time we checked out, it didn't open from the outside at all. The facility allows dogs so we had large amounts of dog feces outside both doors of the room. I complained about that but nothing was done.

Amazing view from the balcony. Perfect spot to watch the sunrise. The creek with the mountain made for a breathtaking view. The room was nicely, updated and clean. Some signs of age around the hotel but overall highly recommend. If you came to this town for peace and tranquility, this is the place to stay.. Good size parking lot had room to park our truck and 18 foot trailer.
