There is nothing near by to walk to especially when it is cold and snowing out. They don't have a liquor license so you cant gamble and drink there. To get to the garage for parking you have to leave there go down the hill to the stop sign. Then you have to make your way back up the hill. Its on a one way road. Not very convenient at all

Had to walk all the way to the front desk to ask for a wifi password, it’s odd that they don’t have that information on the keycards or in the room. Not the best area to stay in as there were homeless people outside of my room at midnight asking for money.

We have stayed at the grand z before the first time it was great. The room clean and nice view staff was good.
2nd time they put us right next to the elevator and we barely got any sleep. This last time it was worse the room again right next to the elevator then when we went to the room after being out for a while i wanted to shower and get some rest but that didn't happened first the toliet didn't flush it took several times, then the shower leaked out of the lines and was wetting the floor it was horrible. When i went to check out they didn't even ask how our stay was they didn't say anything so i said just wanted to let you know that the shower is leaking out of the shower line and the toliet doesn't flush correctly all she said was oh ok i will write it up. I was like really not even any concern for how bad our stay was it was more like oh well . Im very disappointed in the way she reacted . Just sad

The room was extremely hot and the ac didn't work. The room was not clean, stuff all over the floor. The bathroom has \"stuff\" all over the walls and there was pink mold. They did not clean the room after the first night, even though we placed the placard on the door handle to clean it. Apparently they do not do it unless asked. The casino was poorly attended, and machines were out of service. Won't be going back.

If the room is old, at least it should be clean. My husband and I stayed here for our 31st wedding anniversary and immediately upon getting into our room, I wanted to check out. There were mystery stains on 2 walls, dust in the bathroom around the toilet and stains on the bedskirt. We reserved a deluxe king room, and I was VERY, VERY disappointed. We’ve had a better stay at a Holiday Inn Express. The bed tables were damaged like someone was chewing on them. The lighting was dim, the shower glass was cloudy and water stained. I didn’t sleep at all. The time was enjoyable only because of being with my husband. Again, if the rooms are old, the least they could be is clean!

We pulled into the parking garage and elevators were all down so had 3 flights of stairs. Check in was good, rood was good. The casino had no staff, no drinks, restaurants were open but no one working. Only food was the snack shop. The table games were closed. Very disappointed

Hotel room was ok. Could definitely tell pets had stayed in my room before. Breakfast service was terribly slow, just from my waiter. After an hour of waiting for my food and no water refill during that time, I decided to leave.

I lost my phone/wallet at one of the slot machines and everyone from the wonderful cocktail server, the front desk people, and the security team, all took the incident very seriously. They checked cameras, and found my phone. This is a fantastic team at the Grand Z, and we will be staying here every time.

The room was extremely small and DIRTY. We’ve stayed here many years & it has steadily declined. The elevators are a pain to get up to the rooms. And most especially when they aren’t working, which is what happened when we were there. Had to be taken on the employee freight elevator to get up to the rooms. We will not be staying here ever again.

The gal that checked me in was efficient but had less than a warming personality..She did advise if the $150 deposit which will make it back to my account in a week or so.
I found my way through the maze to a wonderful room. Spacious very comfortable bed, Xtra blanket, good lighting lots hot water and a properly sloped tub for a relaxing bath.
I went back down to the desk to ask if there was a restaurant I could have a beer and a quick snack. The reply was \"I don't know\". Ask the bartender if you can food and eat it there, and she went back to her phone.
Rather than work the .aze to find an expensive beer and another maze to find a to go burger I opted for food I'd brought in my room.
I am not a gambler so the maze of slot machines did nothing for.me. I needed an affordable room in this area. I managed not to get lost and would return to for the comfort of the room and to walk the narrow hillside streets. Raining this trip.

Dirty sink in room to which I informed front desk about. They did nothing. Offered nothing. Just ‘noted’ it in comments about our room/stay.
At 2 am when turning in for the night, after a long day we discovered that the sink did not drain. Tried to find a fan to circulate the air and found the control screen unattached to the unit.
When we checked out and relayed all the issues with the room I was told clearly that all my unhappiness could have been avoided had I called the front desk and let them know. They would have sent someone. Really? Someone knew that sink was not draining the last time it was cleaned AND I did let the front desk know shortly after check in. There was no offer to clean it. The control panel for the air was removed by someone!!!! They should have reconnected it then. I could have called but at that hour I really didn’t want workmen in my room for work that should have bee ln addressed before I got there.

The room was spacious and well laid out. However, I was unaware of a $150 deposit at check-in after booking and paying for the room. Also, the room had not been vacuumed or dusted. The next morning we wanted to have their breakfast special but they didn't have any cooks so after letting managers know of the situation, the gave us $15 each to by deli sandwich that were overpriced $7 and already prepackaged. The location is a few blocks from Central City (going up hill) and only one tram was available on the half hour. This was not a reflection of the hotel but does impact your getting around. So I would not recommend staying here.

So effectively your going to pay $25 more than what you buy online. Nothing appeared open in the AM if you’re an early riser, so if you like coffee in the AM…Nada.

Grand Z is on my A-list

Grand Z has an excellent room rate and is the best discounted room for people that don't use comps. Very clean through n through. The beds are very clean and very comfortable. The room was spotless and the bathroom was clean with zero complaints. A lot of lighting if you need it in the room. Grand Z hotel is affordable and its an easy check-in & check out process.

One bed was lumpy, the other was okay- lvf,flooring would be a big improvement as the carpet is sticky in patches in the bedroom and corners in the bathroom need cleaning.
The furniture is chipped. The air conditioning was good.

The HVAC system is very noisy! The room was big, clean and the staff very friendly. We ate at the Grand Bistro, the food was good but terribly expensive. The service at the restaurant was average, I would expect above average for a place that charges $70 for a steak.

So I pre paid for 55.00 dollars for the hotel then the app said when you arrive the hotel will only collect 27.00 and some change for the remainder amount when you go to the hotel. So I show the screen shot on Expedia to the front desk. He says well that will be additional 150.00 plus the remaining amount owed. Now I use this site alot and always scroll down to the page that says deposit or not and nothing was placed on Expedia the app said only the remaining amount is what the hotel is to take. So luckily we had the hwy robbery hold of 150.00 for the deposit. Then we go to the room and it's so so basic the beds in the room are not back friendly. The only thing I can say it was the front desk fault he was super polite. But other then that deposit hold of 150.00 is a little high. You expect people to gamble in your establishment. I won't be coming back...niether my family or friends. A business that doesn't trust their guest doesn't deserve my money at all. Back to ameria star I go.

Overall pretty happy with the place and the stay check in was easy my only complaint is that our rooms smoke detectors went off at 5am till 7am for no god dam reason making it impossible to fall back asleep we called the front desk from our room and our phones and got no answer to see if they were running a test because there’s no reason it should have been going off and stopping like that on the dot

Grand Z Hotel needs some serious upgrades.

We have stayed at Grand Z many times. The quality has gone downhill. The staff continues to be accomodating but they seem hamstrung by corporate policy. For instance, it was on our third room that we had AC working but not great. Also, the handicapped switch to open the doors from the garage to the elevators has not worked in months on several levels.

The hotel seemed so understaffed. Was only able to play table games in the evening, and when the table games were open, there was maybe 1 or 2 bartenders for the whole casino. Had 2 drinks while I played Blackjack for about 5 hours, and they weren't served to me, I had to go to the bar to get them.
