Our room was small, pokey, very cold and very noisy overlooking the busiest roundabout in TW.

The hotel is on the main street accessed via a side alley with steps and parking is available across the road.

We had room 20 which was spacious and had a view onto the bustling Pantiles street area of TW.
If you are like us a couple staying overnight for a nice dinner and a few drinks, this is actually a perfect place to stay.
On the Sunday morning because we were up early, we decided to have breakfast at the hotel which is à la carte and I must say the coffee was of an excellent standard, akin with Black Sheep, so well done on that front. My partner’s sausage on sourdough was lovely and I had a light Toast/preserves which was also lovely.
Service was understated but good.
No air con but the fan was surprisingly effective.
Enjoyed the stay.

The staff were great, the restaurant and food was good, the hotel is a little tired, my first room was unbearably hot and noisy being on a main road, but they kindly changed me to a different room with aircon, but I had to leave unexpectedly at 05.30 this morning due to an emergency at home and it was really difficult to exit the hotel because the door release button wouldn't work initially! But all ok in the end

Excellent hotel in a perfect location for our visit. We stayed on the 3rd floor at the front of the hotel. Comfortable room. Some noise from passing inebriants, but nothing to keep us awake and to be expected in such a busy area. Fantastic restaurants close by and the Assembly hall just a short walk. Would definitely recommend.

Lovely location for a stay in Royal Tunbridge Wells. We were on the top floor, 5 levels of very narrow and winding stairs, no lift. It was manageable but a little annoying.
Staff were friendly.
The room is quite small but sufficient. It was cold with a draft from the windows, often rattling in the wind. We also discovered a very large wet patch in the wall and floor in one corner, which we did mention upon check out. This is a major issue that needs addressing. We received an apology but nothing else.
Be aware, parking is provided by crossing over a busy road. Also, charged at £10 per day!
We ate in the restaurant and I can only provide compliments. The food was fantastic, perfectly served and cooked.

Stayed for 3 nights for a business trip, I chose the hotel mainly as I've been to the area a few times, been quite disappointed with others in the area and wanted a hotel that had a good location for things to do after work. The hotel is within walking distance of the main shopping town, lots of restaurants and bars and train station too and it proved to be perfect for me! The immediate surrounding area of the pantiles was lovely with plenty going on if you don't want to stray far but even though it was busy I didn't get disturved by noise from the town below which was an initial worry, it's very convenient!
I was on the Fourth floor, which had lots of stairs and as an old building, it had no lift, this was fine for me but definitely worth taking into account when booking as a special request if you have limited mobility! My room was impeccably clean, I've been in the area many times at other hotels and this hotel was the best by a mile! The coffee supplies, water and towels were changed daily and the bathroom was modern with great shower and bath facilities! I only ate in the restaurant once but found the food to be absolutely delicious and fresh, there was a great varied selection and very reasonably priced for a hotel! The check in/check out process was very smooth and all the staff I met were incredibly friendly and accommodating! 10/10 stay, I will be back again and highly recommend!

Lovely, characterful hotel. Stayed in the single room and it was great - had everything needed. It was very hot in the room, but imagine that'll be nice in winter. There are lots of narrow stairs, which makes walking with a suitcase difficult, but the staff member on check-in did offer to carry my luggage to my room. I look forward to staying again.

This is my second stay at this hotel (in the same room coincidently). During the night there was a lot of noise sounding like a toilet cistern filling up (not mine) which I could not figure out where it was coming from. I got about 2 hours sleep in total. Checking in experience was not great as they were busy preparing for an evening event. On check out I was checked out by the night porter as it was quite early. Couldn't recommend this hotel enough - my room was very comfortable with a huge bed! The bathroom was lovely with a great shower and was spotlessly clean. The pipes do make a lot of noise and the floor is quite wonky but I thought it added to the charm! Everyone was very friendly, and check-in and check-out very speedy. No lift, so if you dont like stairs, request a room on the lower floors.

Hotel was ‘fine’ for one night. The customer service was patchy. While they were efficient, it came at the cost of being friendly or welcoming, which was severely lacking at the hotel. The staff did respond to asks for a charger and a food delivery but they seemed rushed and busy with trying to run the restaurant and then also manage guest services.
The rooms were also patchy, they were clean however the fitted sheet on the bed was ripped, the bed was hard and lumpy and the bath/shower was not practical. The water temperature would fluctuate between cold and scolding hot when in use, and was actually unsafe for my child. The bathroom products were basic and cheap.
Unfortunately the breakfast was also disappointing and served with chipped crockery. The food looked great however taste did not match up to it. The staff did refund two of the items, though ignored us and were dismissive after we mentioned the crockery being cracked and quality of the meal.

we were a little disappointed there was no on-site parking as the off-site parking was not monitored. It is a lovely old building which has been beautifully and tastefully updated. However for anyone with mobility issues it is a difficult site to negotiate. The staff were really pleasant and couldnt do enough for you. We all thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this beautiful location.

I couldn't find the information about where to park before I arrived and I got a bit lost looking for the parking space. That aside, the bed in the little room I stayed in was very comfortable and it was clean and luxurious. I only needed a single bed so I had to climb to an attic room and it wasn't east to find, but it was definitely worth the extra £30 over the Travelodge I stayed in once in Tunbridge Wells. Will stay again.
