We were not given key code upon check in…which was at main hotel;Congress Hall. Inn door was open upon entry at 5om…but locked when we came back from dinner…forcing us to go back to Congress Hall. Girl at desk did NOT know code, and could not find manager. Took a bit to find someone who knew code for us to be able to get back into our room

Overall the room was good. I especially liked the bathroom. Showers worked well. The location is nice because it is right across from their parent hotel, the Congress Hall. There is a nice coffee shop in the lobby and another right next door. Cape May is a friendly town. Nice walk to and along the beach.
Some rooms are not completely modern, and some do not have the best views. But if you are looking for an historic and comfortable stay, the Star is a good choice.

The place is very clean quaint. A little dated and there was no fridge or microwave in the room, but we were not bothered by it. Great location right by the main strip, and you can also use the Congress Hall grounds as the two properties have the same owners. It’s also right across from Congress Hall. My husband and I really liked it.

Major misrepresentation of actual rooms appearance . Stayed inside main house rooms, that are very old, tiny claustrophobic with few antique partially dysfunctional and broken furniture items. Our first room had impossibly small shower and sink less than the size of the airplane ones. Were able to upgrade to a bigger room, but the old smell and overall discomfort was impossible to fix.

A very clean and more intimate way of staying in Cape May than the big grand resorts or the motels. I found it both very peaceful (1-2 min walk from the beach) and in the heart of things (equally close to most of the excellent food places and shops in the area). The innkeeper was fantastic. I never use concierge services while travelling but touched base with her twice a day as a solo traveler new to the area simply because she was so helpful and kind without being overbearing. The café is enough to grab a quick meal or drink if needed but small enough not to disturb you with foot traffic noise if you're in the rooms above it during operational hours.
Everything was cleaned to my liking. If you like cozy, you'll like this place, if you like sleek modernism or minimalistic interiors this isn't the place for that. I loved it, it was very 'Cape May' and tastefully done.

Right in historic area so can walk to beach and the Mall with all of the stores and restaurants. We had a little porch w rocking chairs. The room was so clean and decorated beautifully. Our stay at The Star Inn far exceeded my expectations! My family usually stays at Congress Hall during the holidays, but decided to give The Star Inn a try this time. The location can’t be beat as it’s located directly across the street from Congress Hall and all the festivities on the lawn. We even had a lovely view of the carousel from our room’s front porch! The service was excellent! The inn keeper was so friendly and accommodating, it felt like we were being welcomed into a family member’s home! The rooms were spacious, clean, comfortable, and nicely decorated! My husband and I loved that we could get a delicious latte from The Star’s cafe each morning. We’re looking forward to our next stay at The Star Inn!

It’s mostly what you would come to expect from Cape Resorts. Access to the highlights of each hotel, beach plum farm toiletries, etc. We stayed in the main house, queen size room and it was fine. Great size closet (small room) and very good size bathroom. Decor was cute, great access to town highlights and a coffee shop in the lobby.

Our family of 3 had such a great time during our stay here. The location was perfect, everything was walkable. We also loved that we could use the pool at Congress Hall and all of its amenities. Beach passes were included and the beach was beautiful. I also appreciated all the little extras like water bottles, ear plugs, dish soap, kitchen sponge, toaster, keurig with plenty of creamers/sugar, silverware, dishes, and pots/pans. The place was so clean and housekeeping was in twice a day to empty trash, replace water bottles, and tidy up. Turn down service was such a nice touch. We will definitely be coming back here again!
