This country house hotel is conveniently located close to Caterham, Redhill and Crawley & Reigate. It is also within easy reach of the centre of London, as well as attractions like Hever Castle, Chartwell National Trust, Chessington World of Adventures, Thorpe Park, Legoland, the RHS Gardens at Wisley and Lingfield and Epsom Race course.
Gatwick Airport and Heathrow Airport are roughly 14 km and 54 km from the hotel, respectively. The hotel, which dates back to 1872, is an idyllic country mansion set high on Nutfield ridge.

Staff were amazing, the restaurant manager, Alfie and Caroline in the restaurant, stand out. But I have to say all the staff in every department couldn’t do enough. The property is amazing with amazing views across a beautiful valley. I had an exceptional breakfast two days running and Sunday lunch all of which were delicious and incredible value. The portions were superb and I was very full after every meal!
I was in the Elliot suite which was amazing with lovely extra touches such as a stocked mini bar and hostess trolley with cocktails and all the equipment to make more! The bed was so comfortable and as I said before the views were amazing!

Other guest began to arrive so I went back to check in Front desk clerk checked in several reservations and when I made sure she could see im still waiting she said they're getting my room ready. Which was way at the end with no good view as requested. T.V. never had clear image as if they have poor satellite service. But of course we were there to enjoy the BEST COUPLES massage ! The pool area was very busy no one figured out how to turn on hot tub until I arrive and the bubbles were a bit weak and just warm.

We stayed in one of the feature rooms which was beautiful and spacious, as described. The property was beautiful and the spa facilities were a nice feature. The staff was friendly and helpful. They ordered us a taxi for the following morning which took us to Gatwick Airport, only 20 minutes away. Highly recommend if you are looking for a quiet, classy stay near the airport. The food at the restaurant was also delicious. Make a reservation if you plan on dining for supper. Thanks!

I went for a short break from my family and it was perfect. The staff were friendly, helpful and hospitable. My room was beautiful with stunning views and all the amenities within were of the highest standard. We stayed for a night as our flight delayed. We checked in around 8 pm, the lady working there was not happy and helpful at all. Pointing me to the exit door in the car park to get to my room! When I asked we have two heavy luggages, she still insists that’s the shortest way to get to our room. We paid £400 for a night! The breakfast is minimum; the buffet was empty and they had short of staff! It’s a shame because the building has some characters and beautiful garden!

Nutfield Priory Hotel And Spa was a marvelous place to stay and to experience! My wife and I were on our honeymoon and would stay here on future trips! Nutfield was extremely convenient just outside of Redhill. Though it was just a short distance away, it truly felt as an exclusive retreat once you reached the property! The staff were so welcoming and knowledgeable! Additionally, the dinner service was fantastic!

Really enjoyed our stay. The hotel is superb with tremendous well kept grounds. Sitting on the terrace in the evening looking out over the grounds and across to Redhill air field is so relaxing. Spa facilities really good though slightly longer swim times for children would be welcomed. Food and bar services top notch with all staff totally customer focused. Terrific weekend break to recharge the batteries!

The property is wonderful and extremely exquisite. It’s literally a castle in the English countryside. Everything was ready for our arrival and even a little bit late we managed to have dinner which was great! The only downside is that they put a rolling bed for my daughter with a really really bad mattress - so thin that one could feel wood from the bed frame - and unfortunately nobody could help us with that. Breakfast included was great, just a little slow - but, if you are not in a rush just enjoy the wonderful views. The food, considered Modern English Food was extremely well prepared! Didn’t match our taste though, but no complaints here!

When we arrived we were given our room key and directed to a totally different part of the hotel. We rang reception and we’re told we had gone the wrong way even though we followed the directions exactly. We were given new directions which involved several flights of stairs but when we arrived at our room, the key card did not work. We rang reception and had to insist they bring us a new key card. Breakfast choice was very restricted and the service was atrocious-the tea was so weak it looked and tasted like water and it arrived with some toast before we even had cereal! Toast entirely cold by the time we ate our hot breakfast. Also the glass of orange juice we requested was only half full on both mornings and there was no staff around to request a refill. The hot breakfast was just ok but again was so small in quantity, twice as much would have been normal in any other hotel we have ever stayed at. The room itself was relatively clean but the bed was the smallest bed we have slept in in over 40 years. The overall impression was that the hotel is very very overpriced at £ 400 per night and at that price we’d have expected a much better room, a bed large enough for 2 people and definitely a proper full breakfast. Also our tv didn’t work It seemed that serving as little as possible to maximise profits were the main and really only motive behind providing breakfast. The worst hotel experience we’ve ever had and if I could give it a minus rating I would. Extremely disappointed

I will definitely be staying here again. Rooms are great, clean, bathrooms are good, breakfast was tasty, parking and access was easy. It definitely has an an old mansion house feel versus a modern sleek hotel feel. It just about justifies its price though could make some slight improvements which maybe better next time anyway! For example, for room service, a cappuccino and flat white were exactly the same despite us reordering (and both were poor -the capsule coffee machine in the room made better coffee) The pillows are not right - that could be a personal taste. And we had a full on speaker system blasting club music from 7am somewhere in the hotel.

We loved our stay here and certainly plan to return. We were given Prosecco and stollen cake on arrival and enjoyed it by the gorgeous Christmas tree. The room was very comfortable and a good size with lovely views from grand windows. Relaxing visit to spa. Great breakfast. The thing that really stood out was the service- everyone we encountered was ever so nice and happy to help- we felt very welcomed.

This was a very disappointing place to stay. Our room was adequate but overlooked two car parks. The service was mediocre at best and the dinner low quality and over priced. The spa / gym facilities were tired and dated. This was supposed to be a luxury experience - but wasn’t luxurious in anyway. Our overall feeling is that they’re just trying to cut costs at every opportunity.

Beautiful hotel in a beautiful surrounding area. Food in the restaurant was perfect. Only downside was in the bar where they only had 1 beer on tap which was out of order, so as customers you have no choice but to order bottles. We ended up in a local pub to taste a selection of craft beers.

Our flight was cancelled due to storm Ciara, as it was cancelled late so all local hotels to Gatwick were full. It was about a 20 min taxi ride but really worth the journey. What a lovely hotel, food was delicious, beds really comfy, they turned a bad situation into a positive!!

I expected more from this place really. I was booked in with a large party who also booked their own rooms however some checked in at different times and when I enquired to book and pay for an extra night on behalf of my friend they were very unhelpful and not accommodating. My sisters and best friend had different staff check them in and the guy quite frankly didn’t have a clue about how to treat guests and was adamant he took a credit card at check in even though the room was booked and paid for. There was another young lady at the check in desk who was very pleasant and helpful. Breakfast took long and toast was burnt. We were also told by that other particular member of staff that breakfast stopped at 9:30am when in actual fact it was 10:30am.

The building is very impressive but our room (one of the cheaper ones, but still ~£150 per night) only had 2 small windows with a view of the car park. It was next to a room with some big tumble driers which are quite noisy and meant our baby struggled to stay asleep until they stopped at around 10:30pm. Breakfast was tasty but not everything on the menu was present on the buffet and the service was extremely slow, the staff were doing their best but they just seemed short staffed. Spa is nice although the jacuzzi was a little cold.

A perfect place for experiencing a sense of history, elegance and beauty in the English Countryside. We were on a land tour and stayed at nice enough hotels, but nothing like the Nutfield. The staff were lovely and very accommodating. You get a sense of Downton Abbey here.

For the cost we expected more. The bed was to soft which wasn’t very comfortable. We called the reception with a query and was told they would call us back in a few moments... they never did. Our breakfast to the room which was requested the day before was forgotten we had to call and enquire where it was. The. We had to rush to check out on time due to breakfast being late. Great location near to the Surrey Hills AOB, We stayed for our Silver Wedding Anniversary, we found the hotel to be clean and tidy with lovely views of the Surrey countryside from our third floor room, the restaurant and terrace area, I particularly enjoyed the on site Spa & Health Club. The only downside was the portion size of the restaurant menu taking into account the prices. Overall we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would recommend.

Our room was absolutely filthy with many cobwebs and thick with huge layers of dust which was blowing through the freezing cold air conditioning vents. We were moved to another room, which was tiny in the attic, had to crouch in most areas as no headroom. Toilet would not flush. No heating. Paid a lot and expected to have accommodation which reflected the high price. Worst hotel we have ever stayed in for the price.

We arrived 20 mins before the 3pm check in time. The room wasn't ready and the receptionist couldn't get rid of us fast enough, despite the fact there wasn't anyone else waiting. We were told to come back at 3, but no direction about where we could wait. On coming back at 3 the room still wasn't ready and we were told by another receptionist (after she got my name wrong 4 times) that she would come and get us when it was ready. We had called ahead to check it would be ready at 3 so this was a really poor start.
Rest of the trip was similarly shambolic, cocktails not mixed in the bar, waiter at dinner trying to sell us another bottle of water when we hadn't even started the first one, empty glasses from the night before not cleared away in the outside areas by midday the following day. Generally just really missed the mark on service. On the first day at the pool there were children using a potty next to it.
The spa was incredibly disappointing. We booked a package with lunch and a treatment for both of us at 3pm. On arrival (12.30) we were told the treatments were now at 1.45 and 2.45 as they were very busy, despite the fact they had accepted our booking. No apology.
We were also told the earliest we could have our 2 course lunch was 1.15 so just 30 mins before the first treatment. Eventually they offered to do it at 1. The treatments were then 15 mins late. Again no apology. There were lots of dirty glasses/mugs left in the relaxation room for the duration.

From start to finish a perfect night away! Very friendly staff and easy check in, with a convenient large free car park. Beautiful room on the third floor with fantastic view. We were totally underwhelmed by this hotel. A sweeping drive leads to a stunning hotel building, everything after that is very ordinary, a bit tired and scruffy in places. Our room had a fabulous view as did the bar and restaurant. Outside/grounds non existent. Spa in need of refurbishment. Enjoyable stay but disappointing.
