Had a problem with the shower as there was no hot water. Husband had a cold shower but not only that but the water goes everywhere. Very nice member of staff who upgraded our room , we now had a window with hot water and a coffee machine that worked once. Still a dreadful design of the bathroom you need towels by the door!! Bloc is not cheap! It was the first time we used this hotel but would not use again unless half the price.

Outstanding hotel. Lovely staff on desk, clean comfortable and amazingly quiet room overlooking the planes. Powerful shower. It is right next to departures South terminal. enough. I got a bit lost finding it from the station (Google Maps isn't very clear) but it is v straightforward. It could not be more convenient

Very convenient for an early morning flight - a 4.30am wake up was way more welcomed than a 2am start from Central London.. however there was no toilet roll in my room, the handwash container was running very low, and the shower splashed everything in the bathroom. I do have to say that overall it was still an easy solution to a super early flight, and I would stay here again for convenience, however the amenities leave something to be desired.

Great little rooms right in the airport. No windows means they are pitch black when the lights go out which I find great. Nice and quiet overall. Excellent for an early morning flight. Bathrooms are small wet rooms with a good shower and nice hot water.
Staff were also really friendly and helpful.

The VIP room was not of the same standard as that we had previously booked. Most notably due to poor sound proofing; constant running water and traffic noise. The outlook was also not as good, but this was not of significant concern.

Staff on reception were great.
Air conditioning had only 2 settings too cold or too hot.
There was only one light switch in the room for both the room and the bathroom, so when one of us got up in the night to use the toilet we both woke up.

The location of the hotel is obviously its biggest asset, and the rooms are perfectly adequate for a single night. Although the wet room is s good idea for saving space, it does mean that the floor is permanently wet once the shower has been used, and I noticed the floor of the main room was slightly sticky, presumably as water had been transferred into it from the wet room.
The ability to check in online is useful, however I found the 'app' was rather inconsistent when operating the lift. So it's a good idea to get a key card. The 20% discount at certain restaurants was welcome, given the inflated airport prices.
In conclusion, I'd definitely use the hotel again.

We only stayed one night while waiting for our flight and the room was clean and comfortable. It was very tiny so I wouldnt want to stay for a long time but it was in a great location and very suitable for the night. It was very modern and the front desk staff were very helpful.

Definitely for younger travellers. Getting in and out of the bed is difficult as you have to climb over the other person. The lighting in the room is terrible, and with the surrounding noise, the maximum volume on the tv is too low. The wet room is WET. Cannot take anything in there as it gets soaked. Was ok, but probably won’t use again. Staff were very nice though.

Bloc is my go to for London stays and I have the best sleep ever in there. The rooms are pitch black and silent and the bed is super comfy. Rain shower is great and there are some fun controls like light and temperature from your phone if you’re into tech things.

Helpful discounts for Gatwick restaurants and cafes. Indoor room was pleasantly big enough for crashing overnight. Shower hose leaked a lot and worth mentioning the bathroom is full wet-room style, so you need to strategically place towels all over the floor after showering. The web-based app stopped loading during the evening but was able to control air con and lighting from a room panel.

The hotel is in Gatwicks Sth Terminal so is very convenient, minutes away from Nth Terminal by shuttle.
The room was small (as wide as our bed was long
The bathrpom was functional but we had trouble finding how to get Hot water.
We did eventually manage, the shower was the room, so wet floor for other users.
Overnight stay ok but nowhere to unpack anything so longer stays would be difficult.
Again as 80 somethings we would not use it again. Youngsters would be fine.
Not sure how a family would manage.
The reception staffwere very pleasant but we saw no evidence of others except those doing rooms

Very conveniently located inside south terminal. Small but functional rooms. The double bed arrangement would be difficult for older people as one person has to crawl across. The bed was a bit too big for the space. The shower control was a bit fidly to get hot water.

Great hotel location, 30 mins from landing, collecting cases to being in the room, hotel is within the terminal. Rooms are very small and double bed access from only one side, but contain all you need, free coffee is available on 5th and 7th floors, 20% off food at surrounding outlets. Would only recommend for pre and post flights due to room size. No baggage storage on site. Family rooms have a double bed and a bunk bed.

Was very clean, and was given a room with a window I could see the planes. As others have stated, was very quiet despite the airport location. Close to the train station, about 20 mins by train to central London. There are a few shops close by, but only 2 restaurants that trick you into leaving a tip, so that wasn't so great. There was a Wetherspoons but their prices were a lot more than the Wetherspoons in Cardiff, so airport prices are higher than outside the airport.
Best part was easy access to my flight. The only down side was the shower had no curtain or glass so the water goes everywhere in the bathroom!
The TV had trouble getting some reception, and when I discussed with staff, it was fixed and my heating seemed to work better at the same time, weirdly enough. Due to the room's size, one or two nights is best.
Free coffee was supplied which was a nice touch, in a special coffee room near the elevator.

The staff were courteous and professional. The location was nice in the airport. I found the bed to be too firm for my liking but others may like it that way. The room was small and the bathroom was smaller. This may be a standard in Europe but with the toilet and sink effectively in the shower stall, that is hard to work with. The bathroom floor was wet when I got to to the room and the shower head kept dripping on the floor, right in front of the toilet. I let it be as I was only staying one night.

Perfect for a night at the airport, location is perfect. Bed is super comfy. Small and compact, but literally only used the room to shower and sleep. Really quiet, couldn’t hear anyone or any planes during the stay.

We flew from the North terminal but the train is super quick from the south. Ideal having the Wetherspoons so close for an evening meal too.

Having an early morning flight we will always choose the option of staying the night before.

Only negative was the corridor has a funny smell. But the room smelt fine.

There is one main gripe - arrived late and then realise that - after using the shower - it dripped like Niagara Falls throughout the night. Otherwise it was very well located and nicely fitted out for a one night stay. But please fix that shower

Arrived at Gatwick by train needing to stay overnight for an early flight. We were able to make use of the twilight bag drop before heading to the room. Everything was done by use of Phone, lifts, entry to room etc as checked in online beforehand. Room was small but very clean and as we only needed it for one night so couldn’t really fault it. Also had a free to use coffee machine on our floor which was ideal. Would certainly use again.

Have stayed here a few times and always been positive. Had a family room last night and there were big gaps between both the double bed and the bunk beds and the wall. Made sleeping uncomfortable and there was quite a bit of debris down the gaps. Not so nice.

The bathroom layout is poorly designed. The shower is completely open with no glass screen or curtain to contain the water. This creates a huge mess, flooding the entire bathroom and forcing you to walk across wet floor, which can be dangerous and messy too.

It is a convenient hotel right in the airport and the bed is comfortable. The shower head was spotty and the automatic room controls were hard to manage. If you want a room smaller than a prison cell and have to climb over your partner to get out of the bed and go to the toilet which is soaking wet because its also the shower (which decided to start dripping in the night and soaked the seat and the bathroom floor) - then THIS IS 4 U.
If you’d rather pay £20 more for a decent hotel room where you can swing some cats then make like me next time and go elsewhere

The hotel succeeds in creating a quiet space, which is the most important thing. The view from the window is iconic, in its own way.
There are some design misconceptions: a wet room is installed without floor gradient, slippers or squeegee. The blinds don't fully obscure the decorative purple lights by the window which for some reason remain on. To keep the rooms soundproof - presumably - there is no option to open the window, however the minimum ambient temperature the air conditioning attains to is quite high. The central light and climate controls are not intuitive. The coffee machines give you a different thing from the thing you ask for

The Bloc Hotel was a perfect location for a layover at Gatwick. Plane to hotel took about half an hour and I was in my room relaxing within an hour. The room was small but perfect for the purpose of getting rest between flights. Staff were efficient and welcoming. Complimentary tea and coffee were a nice touch. I actually overestimated the time it would take to get to my flight in the morning - security was very swift and it takes so little time to get to the flight I could have slept another half an hour.
