Was a nice hotel but got to my room & there was no toilet rolls & no remote for the tv. Kindly went to front desk & they were very helpful of given me those products. However when I turned the tv on there was no tv as it was stuck on a few channels connected to bbc iPlayer.

Very disappointed on arrival. The hotel looks run down. Had to call a mobile number when we arrived. Poorly sign posted to get around the hotel, which was like a maze. It states that breakfast is included, the staff said that they need to remove this from the website.

Won't be staying here again.

The room we were assigned had not been cleaned since the previous guest, but we were promptly assigned a new room when we mentioned it to the staff. The room was adequate for a night's stay on our way to Gatwick (20 mins drive to drop off the rental was easy at 7am on a Saturday) but I wouldn't want to stay any longer. The bed appeared clean but was uncomfortable - it seemed to be missing a box spring. TV was adequate, with access to streaming services.
There is plenty of parking at the hotel, but I wanted to stretch my legs after arrival, so chose to walk into Reigate for dinner.
It was a 30 minute (downhill) walk into town to get something to eat. The Five Spice restaurant provided excellent Chinese food, and the Uber fare was well worth it to avoid walking back up the hill!

Walking through the corridoors you see fire doors that dont close, intumescent strips sticking out. If there is a fire in this hotel, people will die. There are fire doors chained closed which will compound the problem. We approach the stairwell to our room and there is a metal fire escape stairs which is entirely unmaintained. Around these are blinds hanging damaged. Clearly the place is not maintained. The we get to our room. A convoluted entry system means you have to take multiple trips to reception where nobody is around to get this sorted. In the room eventually, there is a bed frame smaller than the matress just waiting for someone to fall out. A towel rail in the bathroom has a wire where the chords are sticking out just ready for a child to pull and be electrocuted. Thats the best bit of that wiring, on the other side of the wall the fixed wire system the towel rail was wired to has been bypassed by a flex that goes who knows where. Then theres a door held together by metal straps onto a poorly maintained balcony. Who dares stand out there is a braver person than i. Then we have a random cable hanging down with a choc block on the end. Who knows if its live or not. I will not be going any where near it, however it it dangling over the curtains so any short and were on fire. The lighting is controlled by one main switch and all other switches control who knows what. Then back to the bathroom, the fan comes on randomly linked to the next room. Terrible, scary!

This hotel should not be listed on Expedia! This Hotel is being used to house Asylum seekers. It was filthy, the bedding was stained. There was loud music playing at 12:30am from a function happening in the property.
There are no keys to the hotel rooms, they're on digital door codes - which made me feel very unsafe that anyone could get into the room if they had the same combination code.
I did not feel safe at all. I did not stay at the hotel. I am now trying to get my refund from Expedia.

Have used this hotel (use word hotel loosely) in the past & yes it has looked tired for a long time. I stupidly thought that as it was not available to book for a long period some upgrading may have taken place. How naive of me. Checked in at reception & our room had been changed. Not a good start as both me & my partner have mobility issues. Change of room then necessitated a steep set of stairs. Have plenty of photographs showing a lack of cleanliness of room. No housekeeping, dirty cleaning cloth left in bathroom sink along with a spoon. Window that did not close, bathroom was not very clean. Only one drinking cup, no bath mat (had to use hand towel). On day of departure at 09:35 there was a knock on room door quickly followed by someone tapping the door

Stayed here a number of times as it’s affordable and well located for my needs. I was greeted by someone in my room, transpired that my room had changed and the staff were less than helpful, otherwise it was an acceptable stay. Adequate car parking, food available via UberEats. Room is acceptable, beds are quite comfortable. No issues.

I have photos of all the terrible stuff in my room.
Air con was broken , the hotel didn’t care
The bathroom was disgusting.
The carpets were really dirty
There was mould on the curtains.
The chair leg was broken
There were screws sticking out of the walls where pictures used to be.
I paid for breakfast on your site, the hotel said they don’t do breakfast ( I wand a refund please )
There was cigaret stumps on my balcony floor , nobody had cleaned the balcony

I cannot believe that a big booking company like Expedia, have got this hotel on there books, I was in that area to see my dying brother and had a budget to spend , if I could afford it I would have left immediately

What are Expedia going to do about this ?

The room itself was very run down, had broken lights, broken doors, broken sides and had nails hanging out of the wall. The smell was awful and the hallways were all dirty with broken blinds etc.

We ended up leaving and rebooking with a different hotel.

The property was dated, carpet dirty, bed simple and hard, room side was dusty, no proper tv only iPlayer and YouTube etc, bathroom small and stained and noisy because of the water pump when running hot water and when the next room uses the water, all switches switched all the lights on and off and nothing in-between, stank of oil based paint for the whole of my stay overall wouldn’t stay here again

Stayed for 1 night. On arrival was greeted by having to shout to the reception staff as the function room was right next door with a wedding and loud music. States free breakfast on Expedia however, the hotel does not provide any breakfast. This was one of the main reasons for booking this hotel. Walked to the room through dated corridors up and down numerous steps. Corridors smelt \"old\"

The room.....well where to start?....entry light to the room flickered on and off and if you wanted the main lights on this could not be turned off. Mould on the walls, mould around the windows, curtains thin, hanging off the rail and covered in paint, one plug socket a plug wouldn't go in fully and made an electrical fizz sound. Paint work shoddy and must have been completed by a child. The room sloped down.

Bathroom.....loose sink, out of hand soap and the shower would not get warm even after playing with the controls for 10 minutes.

On the plus side the kettle and WiFi worked.

In need of a serious health and safety review and major update or just flattening.

The room was spacious but very drab, bathroom wasn’t cleaned especially the toilet from the previous guests. Shower lacked any type of power and the cold tap on the sink didn’t work. Parking was the only thing that made me give this review 2 stars, as we managed to park directly adjacent to the room since we came by motorbike. Expedia provides an option to pay for breakfast as an extra, however the hotel DO NOT do breakfast - we had to communicate with reception this dispute and Expedia directly to resolve the issue.

Shower black mould put me off a bit. The bed boasted a collapsed spring mattress. A kettle was provided but no cup or drinking device. I improvised by putting a teabag in it and drinking from the spout. It was after 10 pm and reception was far away. The ladies in reception were friendly and helpful.

We recently used this hotel as a stay before a flight and it was the worst hotel I have ever used, I’m not sure why hotels.com are still advertising it. The hotel looks abandoned, our room had mould on the walls, stains on the curtains, plaster was falling off the wall, the window wouldn’t shut, lights kept flickering, the bathroom was filthy. We were located in the family room 11 when I asked the reception about changing she said they had no other family room and would not allow us 2 rooms, she said she would offer a refund if I contact hotels.com but they never answered their phone to them so I could only get credit back. Avoid at all costs it’s not worth the sleepless night.

If you require accommodation in this area, then take a tent! Booked for two nights, but stayed only one. How this establishment can be allowed to house human beings, is far too difficult for me to imagine. Health and Safety Executive would shut down and condemn in a heartbeat! A stale and sickly malodorous stench, which no doubt is from damp spoors, festoons the entire building, corridors, rooms and even reception ! If you do book in, then sleep on the floor, if your mattress is anything like mine was. This place is way past renovation. It needs a bulldozer!!

It was cheap but not cheerfull. I had low expectations due to the price, on the plus side the bedding and towel were clean. The room and corridors are shabby and in need of an overhaul. The worse thing was a shower which did not get warm at all. No amount of adjustment got anything but freezing cold water. It's a shame as it would have been cheap and relatively cheerful had the shower worked. Reception were apologetic.

I didn’t expect much it was cheap and clearly outdated from the photos. We purely stayed here because it was the closet place available to Reigate Hill where we were attending a wedding but I at least expect a clean room without boogies, kettle full of limescale and mould all of the shower in the bathroom which they hadn’t finished painting.

Close to gatwick for travel, free parking and friendly staff. Other than that it isn't good, not worth the money even though low, it's no more than 1/2 stars and shouldn't be more than £30. We managed to get some sleep and move on. Even if the breakfast had been available as advertised, we wouldn't have eaten it.
Place needs a major clean and refurbishment, which I can now see has been promised for some time on reviews.

Moved me to another room where another guest entered the room (using the same key code) as I stepped out the shower. Mattress had an interesting feature where a spring poked in my back.

Very pleasant staff at check-in and out and bar service in the foyer but this place was shabby. There was a smell of freshly painted woodwork inside so maybe they're in the midst of a refurbishment but there's a lot to do. My room was not pleasant. The carpet throughout the hotel was dirty and the corridos smelled of smoking. My sheets and towels were clean but the matress and foam pillow wasn't comfortable. I didn't dare look under the sheets or pillowcase. They felt slightly damp. The surfaces in the room were filthy. I cleaned them with wet loo roll before putting anything on them. It was super cheap and now I know why. Id stayed in a travel lodge the previous night for the same price but they were worlds apart.

Avoid at all costs – absolutely disgusting!

This place should not even be allowed to operate as a hotel. The moment we walked in, the stench in reception hit us – it smelt like waste water, absolutely foul and stomach-turning. By the time we got to our room, our eyes were stinging and watering from the damp, mould and disgusting odour inside from the unbearable smell of paint fumes.

The staff were completely unhelpful when we raised our concerns, showing no care or professionalism whatsoever. Within just 10 minutes, we had to leave for the sake of our health – staying any longer would have made us seriously unwell.

This was by far the worst experience I have ever had with a hotel. It is a disgrace that OYO allows this property to trade under their name. Do yourself a favour and book literally anywhere else.

I did not stay, was not given a refund even 4 months in advance. No replies to email. The address on communications through Expedia was given as 1 Reigate Road. Google maps shows it about 5 miles from that address. After a 9 hour flight and an 8 hour time change I could not risk this place for me or the friends I was with.

Tv had no signal. WiFi didn’t extend to our room so apps wouldn’t work on tv and phones and tablets couldn’t connect to WiFi. Electrical sockets not working. Ethernet cable hanging out of wall. Broken shelf sat on floor ehen entered room. Room and paintwork tired and flaking. Light fittings broken. Corridors smell of cigarette smoke. Uncomfortable bed, rubbish pillows, no bathroom bin, taps running (not dripping - running continuously) as they won’t turn off properly.
Any concerns ignored by receptionist.
I swear we are not picky travellers - we’ve stayed at hotels with poor ratings that we’ve enjoyed and we will give credit where credit is due but this place’s only redeeming feature is its distance from the airport.

We arrived at the hotel and used an email with our room no 20 with the code to get in. Code didn’t work and phone number left on reception desk who gave us a different code to get in. Room standard was poor as dirty and stains over carpet. Also no soap or shampoo in dispensers. Also when about to go asleep, we hear the door and a random gentleman walked in our room!!! I also emailed to complain that night, which was unanswered. All of this is unacceptable!!!

I'll be honest. I was very glad to be staying just for one night with my husband. I don't recommend hotel to solo female travellers as I mentioned to my husband I wouldn't feel safe going here alone as a female.

Staff at reception didn't speak much English or at least didn't understand much of what we were saying. They weren't rude just unhelpful.

The cleanliness..... They tried. But the doors felt sticky, bath didn't look clean. The only thing that appeared to be clean to me was the bed sheets and the room looked vacuumed. For one cheap night it satisfies but Im used to better quality.

“I checked in to this property and found the experience very difficult. A new receptionist was left alone to manage check-ins and was unsure how to respond when the fire alarm went off. Parking registration was confusing — despite staying one night, I had to register for two days to avoid a fine. The allocated room code did not work consistently, even after being reset. Corridors were full of building equipment and tools, which did not feel safe or welcoming. Because of these issues, I decided not to stay. The lady on reception was lovely — probably because she’s the only thing about this hotel worth smiling about. Unfortunately, everything else is a disaster. The moment you grab your key, the whole experience takes a nosedive.

The décor feels like Basil Fawlty lost a bet, had a few too many drinks, and then let someone with zero sense of taste finish the wallpapering. The plumbing is unreliable at best, and the beds… well, they’re less “comfortable furniture” and more “medieval torture device disguised as a mattress.” Sleeping on them felt like wrestling with a shopping trolley, and the bloodstains on the sheets? Let’s just say they add an unexpected “personal touch.”

The carpets probably haven’t seen a vacuum cleaner since the 1960s and are so grimy they seem to have their own ecosystem. I half expected David Attenborough to pop out from under the bed to narrate the wildlife thriving in the dust and grime.

Calling this place a “hotel” is generous. It’s not a getaway — it’s a cruel experiment in patience and tolerance. If the owners spent half as much time cleaning as they do cutting corners, it might barely scrape the level of “tolerable.”

Honestly, you’d be better off sleeping in a bus stop, a skip, or even a cow field. You’d be cleaner, more comfortable, and less likely to leave needing antibiotics.

I only needed a bed for the night and had a late check in. The hotel looked very tired and in need of refurbishment. The room was tidy but not the cleanest. The bed was uncomfortable with the springs coming through the mattress. I did not use any facilities other than the bedroom so just checked out and left around 08:00. As I walked out of the main door there was a dead mouse and a pair of men’s underpants lying right in front of the door. Unlikely that I will use this hotel in future.

The room we stayed in (room 11) was full of black mold. There were bugs and hair in the beds.

There was no way to lock your door and they keypads wiere intermittent.

The staff were friendly and offered a new room, but it would've required splitting up the family, and it turned out to be a rough area

Sock-shocking standard

The receptionist did not explain the room entry procedure so I had to enter the long number 3 times before I realized that I had to press the lock symbol too. Also to have to do this each time you entre is a pain and a key card system would be much better.
The room smelled of cigarette smoke and i soon discovered that a sock had been stretched over the smoke detector. I am appalled that the cleaner had not noticed this as the sock was clear for all to see.
There was no chair in the room. I went to reception to request one to be delivered. On my return to the room I received a call on my mobile to suggest that I go onto the neighboring balcony and take one from there.
The electric towel rail in the bathroom was permanently on which made this area far too hot, also the worktop surface by the sink was torn and pealing.
The door to the terrace was already unlocked and the securing bolt was far from adequate and needs replacing.
The television has far too many channels, over 4000 it would appear. But to find the basic terrestrial channels, BBC 1 etc, took quite an effort, eventually going via BBC iPlayer.

There was an Indian wedding party in progress
and the music was so loud it was impossible to stay in our room.
No one informed us a wedding reception would take place.
So never stayed.
I want a refund please

Dont do it!

Its really bad smells of mould and weed and has drunks loitering outside ,room was filthy.
So i left immediately.
Looks ok from the outside but the inside is like a 70s throw back.

Needs lots of TLC

This is a cheap and convenient place to stay. Only 15-20 mins away from Gatwick Airport. The Staff seemed friendly however did not speak much. The room was clean however if you are expecting a Premier Inn standard you will be in for a big disappointment. The edges of the room i feel havent seen a hoover in a long time with dead bugs on the floor. You do however have clean bedding and bath towel.

For us the location was very convenient. The room was clean and the location perfect for walking, with beautiful viewpoints very close by. It is off a busy main road but no noise issues.
The building and decor are a bit tired but did the job and all was all fine for our needs.

Hotel Not Nice.

Not a nice hotel. Base of my shower was falling apart and there was a continuous pipe gurgling sound throughout the night above my window. Uncomfortable bed, one pillow. All the carpets were dirty and stained, even though the corridors. No information about food etc! Never again!

I chose this property for its location. The best thing I can say about it is that the two members of staff I made my complaints to were very polite and did their best to listen and help. The photos displayed on the site are not representative of the accommodation, and even at a budget price, one should have good pillows, mattress covers and clean rooms. The whole place is in need of serious investment to renovate it to an acceptable standard. Given its location, it's missing out on a large potential market.

I stayed here in May. Despite advertising \"Free On-site Parking,\" after registering my vehicle and following all instructions at the kiosk inside the hotel, I still received a 90 GBP/$170.29 CAD parking ticket from the Parking Authority.

I tried to resolve this with the hotel and Expedia, and the hotel just ignored it and did not make any attempt to amicably resolve the situation. Very disappointed and now out $170.29.

The hotel was also dirty and in poor condition, with unfinished boards of wood nailed to the bathroom floor by the shower.

I would never stay here again and not recommend it to anyone. You cannot trust that the hotel will help you with issues, that the rooms are not clean or in good repair, and errors with their parking registration kiosk or staff registering the vehicles could result in very expensive parking tickets on the hotel property.

I tried for 3 weeks to resolve this with the hotel to no avail.

1 star out of 5. Terrible and expensive experience and a poorly kept hotel.

Probably the worst hotel I’ve stayed in

Probably one of the worst hotels I’ve ever stayed in.
I wasn’t expecting a lot for the price but walking in it stunk of cigarettes in reception. Whole hotel was dated and depressing.

Room was very small, bed was the most uncomfortable bed I’ve ever slept in. The springs dug into my back all night.

I didn’t use the shower as it was filthy.

The toilet didn’t flush well. There was no soap provided in the toilet.

My door did not fully lock.

The iron was good which was great and the free coffee provided was OK.

I arrived late after a long day or id of gone elsewhere.

Our stay was good. We werer late (10.30pm) Check-in was quick & easy. Room very good. Room facilities e,g, Coffee remote tv plug in for recharging phones clean Shower need a boost (no pressure). All in all a GOOD EXPERIENCE normally use Premier but would DEFFINITELY us OYO again.

Worst hotel in UK that I’ve stayed in. Shower didn’t work, windows wouldn’t shut, aircon ineffective, Wi-fi wouldn’t connect, power socket in bathroom wouldn’t work, carpet sticky in places, hairs in bed when we checked in. Reported lack of shower to management every day but nothing happened. Refused to move our room.
