i was staying here for work at the houston rodeo like i have been for the past 2 years the hotel was ready when i arrived i always recommend first floor it’s easy access the wifi is not the best but will work the kitchen amenities were good everything worked it was easy to use the washer and dryer since they have a app for it the weight rooom is not big but will do the job i never had security issues 🙏 i would definitely recommend this hotel especially if your staying long term

At $150 a night, I expect at least a hint of feigned luxury from a hotel that looks that welcoming off the freeway. WoodSpring Suites Houston 288 South looked promising... but it lands near the bottom for me.

Check-in was quick and clear. But for a double queen room with two guests (my 16-year-old son and me), we were given one key card. I've never seen that before.

The room was okay and had a kitchenette, but no dish soap -- just a dishwasher tablet (overkill for the one fork I used).

No iron or ironing board.
No hand towels.
No soap and shampoo dispensers in the shower.
No closet doors.
No phone.
No USB ports.
The A/C squealed like it had rodents living in it.

The TV setup felt straight out of 1985 with the slow-scrolling cable guide. My son missed the name of a movie and had to wait for the entire channel list to cycle back around. In 2026, why are we still doing this instead of smart TVs with streaming access?

The Wi-Fi barely worked -- maybe five good seconds every fifteen minutes. I ended up driving to Walmart for an HDMI cable and used my phone hotspot just to stream.

No \"Do Not Disturb\" sign meant a 7:45 a.m. knock from housekeeping looking for a towel request that wasn't mine. Then came three hours of hallway maintenance noise, ending just before checkout.

Hotels shouldn't feel like anxiety endurance tests. This place had potential, but too many avoidable issues made it hard to relax -- especially at this price point.

Wouldn't return.

Staff was never at the front desk I had to find a ganitor to go get someone for the front desk and when she did get him he still didn’t come so she had to get him again and he finally came with a attitude. We needed toilet paper a staff member told us we have to go out and buy our own and they don’t give out toilet paper.

My check in was late due to flight being delayed so finally got there around midnight then waited at least 30 mins on someone to show up to get my key, got to my room that smelled really bad so I asked for a new room and was denied by the sleeping front desk attendant, I asked for a refund and also was denied I left the place and got a room elsewhere, worst place ever

They stay was good. Only thing is that we were on the 2nd floor and that’s the pet floor so the hallway smelled like dog poo. Also they have a two burner stove top but if you cook bacon the fumes from the bacon set off the fire alarm twice while we stayed there. Other than that it was a pretty good stay.

Before making the reservation, I was hesitant, but I still went ahead and reserved it when we arrived at the hotel I thought about the reviews and it didn’t do justice. The hotel was perfect. The hotel was clean actually smelled very clean. Our room was spotless. The staff the staff was awesome. Every time we passed by there them they would greet us. Everything about the hotel is great and I highly recommend it.

Positives: room was quiet. Refrigerator was cold. Negatives: check-in (with no one in line) was slow - nearly 15 minutes even with a pre-paid advance registration. kitchen had no coffee/tea maker. Room HVAC worked, but was damp / musty with high humidity. Shower door wouldn't close completely. No soaps/shampoos/lotions in the bathroom. Lobby desk/ office was closed (with roll-down security wall locked in place) at 8 am to check-out.

I would not stay at this hotel ever again they didn’t have the cart for me to bring my stuff up to the room so I ended up having to bring it all the way to the 3rd floor by hand one at a time luckily I had help from some of the other guests I didn't have any help when I left and the cart was still not down there 7 days later when I checked out so I was forced to have to carry it all my items down by myself with no help at all the kitchen was missing certain items and they did not do any sort of housekeeping at all after a long day out I came to my room to it locked and when I found out the reason I was pissed becuz I was hit with a $25 linen fee which I’ve never had to pay for at any hotel let alone them locking me out of the room for it and it happened to be the day before I check out which I felt was jus insane the people at the front desk were unprofessional in every manner and provided very little help jus an overall bad experience I wouldn’t recommend the hotel to anyone

IF YOU BOOK FOR 28 days which is what this app allows and not 30 days , night staff awaits for you to get down to your last (2) days of stay to tell you : A) the rate you paid here isn’t their rate B) fees when you’re leaving because no one told you th linen you returned & borrowed over time cost or to pay $1 for tissue at the desk. Everything is a cost !

We got there and doors were lock and nobody was at the front desk, I had to call and when they finally answered they couldn’t gives exact directions on where was the front desk, when we found it, he finally open the door and open the window for the front desk. Was rude and didn’t explain where the elevator was or where was our room. Building was hot all over. Room ac didn’t cool off enough and because of the conditions we had to leave at 5am, room temp was unbearable. When we were trying to return the room key the frond desk was closed and when I called he took again forever to answer and told me just to leave the keycard by the window. When we were leaving also it was a random man sleeping in the lobby and when he heard us he got up and look at us and walk out. This was our worst experience. I’ll appreciate if a refund will be issued to us for the horrible experience and also we didn’t even get to rest to continue our trip. Please I’ll appreciate if we get our money back. Thank you

When i arrived staff obviously doesnt want to be here .key didnt work ...so i called and dailef 500 as is states ...addinent once sounding sleepy . Told me to to try the \"other\" doorsand if that doesnt work call back... ....im confused at this this point buy its bren a lonh day . So i walk around the building 2 orher doors dont open ...so no phone had to walk to the original door to call ....then the roomi just want to up load the pictures. Feel like im bothet the night guy anyway

Person over stomped and jumped all night waking up my kids and myself throughout the night and morning. Even after staff called they wouldn’t stop. The worst experience was when I went to extend my room for an extra night and was told by a staff member named ANGIE that I would have to pay my original price from check in that included taxes! Something I have never done. Even argued me down that you can’t extend a room without taxes , even though I’ve done just that multiple times!!! I refused and me and my children left. Needs better training working check-in. UNACCEPTABLE

Roaches and mold everywhere

On first glance, the room was fine. As we keep staying, I started noticing molds in the shower, and saw baby roaches about 4 times during my stay. They come from the bed frame, AC, and in the wall cracks. I even saw one crawling on THE BED during my last day there. The bed was also making me itchy and I had bug bites. It was so gross.

Oh gosh where do I start? The staff? LOVELY! The property? LOVELY! CLEANLINESS? LOVELY. Absolutely LOVELY! The property manager was amazing I can’t remember her name but my gosh was she amazing at handling business! The lobby attendant was amazing also we stayed for the Beyoncé Cowboy Carter Tour… the amount of time these girls were willing to put in for us to make sure we were safe while attending events around Houston should be illegal! I was very adamant about coming to this property because of the reviews but turned out it was lies. 100% will be coming back here for my next trip to Houston! Thank you girls so much for everything you guys did to make sure we had a great stay and perfect trip!

This is one of the worst places I have stayed. It gives off clean environment but it’s not. It’s a lot of drugs users and ghetto people that stay here. You have small dogs to huge Rottweilers. You have to pay for clean linen. I have never ever paid for clean towels and sheets. Never again.

At first glance seemed cleaned but the room had such a high humidity that the floors and walls were constantly wet. Showered Friday night and the towels never dried. After checking in i noticed . My room heat was not working called front desk she informed she would send up maintenance. After 45min waiting. I had call back she ssid she would call
Me back . This repeated for 2 more
times never once a phone call back.
I had go doen to front desk then i was told a couldn't get maintenance tell Monday . It was Friday evening . I asked to be move to a another room. She said it was against thier policy.
To have customer to change rooms ask to speak to upper manager then i was told it would be more money to move into another room.
They run this place. Like thier customer are homeless transients. Dont waste your time with this place. Upper management dont give a hoot

I didn’t know it was that type of hotel, I’ve stayed at extended stay apt/ style hotels and this one did not meet my expectations. Although the hotel was very clean on the outside and outside of the rooms, the rooms were pretty bad. Modern, yet filfthy. A roach fell from the ceiling onto my hair curler. It was plenty of other roaches too. You have to pay for towels which I was never informed of in the beginning or I would’ve utilized the first set of towels they gave me, they don’t clean the room but offer brooms and dustpans but no other cleaning products.

Muy mal servicio no te cambian las tuallas y si quieres más al siguiente día te cobran $3 dólares extras no ay plancha para planchar la ropa quieren que uno saque la basura de los cuartos porque ellos tienen servicio de limpieza al día siguiente así que te tocará ti solo lavar las sábanas y lavar tus toallas no lo recomiendo de desayuno solo ofrecen café caliente.

There was no bathroom door in my room. It was very uncomfortable. I found out that there was not a bathroom door for over a year. The staff was wonderful and accommodating. It’s unfortunate that management was not more supportive of the stellar people they hired.

My family and I chose this establishment because of the easy location and extended stay rates. We came to Houston for the livestock show. The overall room was ok, it slanted down as you went towards the heads of the beds which meant when you laid down the bed slanted head low feet higher. There was a family above us that was extremely loud allowing their child/children to run around during later hours of the evening. That was kind of remedied but it still happened. The cleanliness was ok. It has definitely been lived in and no updates have been done. Minor things could be done to help with the overall feel of the room, paint over worn marks, clean up scuffs on floors and walls, and even air fresheners to help with slight odor. It is extremely convenient to have a small kitchenette in the room especially when traveling for a week away with family to help curb food expenses. I would ask for extra blankets in the room but everything else was just fine for what we were staying for.

Beware of auto theft!!!

Beware!!! On the second day my truck was broken into. I worked nights so it was 11:30 in the morning hour. Broad daylight. It’s a nice facility, relatively new. Great lighting and apparent cameras. Clean room. Mostly permanent residents. Feels like government housing. If you’re a working person with tools keep away!!! Someone is waiting and watching. I told the manager under the circumstances I would have to cut my trip short. She still refused to cancel my stay and charged me the full amount. Stating no refunds. I thought I was going to save some money because of the decent nightly rate. Wrong! Ended up over a thousand with repairs and theft of tools. Unfortunate all the way around. Stay clear of this place unless you’re part of the tribe. Outsiders beware. Someone’s looking to take advantage of you. Seriously.

Roaches in my room. 💩 stains on the sheets. I tried to ask for clean sheets but there is never anyone at the front desk. Working girls in front of the hotel. I stayed for a week and when I asked for clean towels on day 3, I was told to bring my old towels down to the front desk and there would be a $10 charge. I have never slept on such an uncomfortable mattress. If it weren’t for the roaches, I woukd have slept on the floor.
