The rooms were clean but they didn’t have a refrigerator, coffee maker, and a microwave in the rooms. We had leftovers but couldn’t take them because we couldn’t keep them cool or heat them up.
The staff was wonderful though!! Hi praise there!!
The AC during the heat of the day struggled to keep the room cool but by 10 pm it was cool enough to sleep comfortably.

Building is old and not well maintained. Room was ok hallways in need of a good cleaning. Was told there were two elevators. The first one didn't work and had to walk to the opposite end for the other. When we walked back to the other end on our floor our room key didn't work. They gave us another room on the first floor with 2 beds instead of one like we wanted.

Honestly it looked like it was going out of business. The lobby was very nice and it looks like they maybe remodeling this location. The air conditioner was not good and clearly need maintenance. The room smelled like mold. We changed rooms and the bathroom didn't have broken tile in it but had all the above problems. We only stayed at night the rest of the time at the hospital with our grandson. If I had not already paid for the room up front, we would have moved. Didn’t feel safe and won't stay there again.

The stay was terrible. We asked for a handicap room. It was handicapped but at the end of two long hallways with 54 rooms each. The elevator didn't work so we had climb 2 flights of stairs. The breakfast was not sufficient, cereal but no milk. Dry scrambled eggs and sausage which we could not eat. THINK TWICE BEFORE STAYING HERE.

The room and bathroom were nice and clean. The main issue is that the air conditioner would not allow you to run the fan constantly. We were there during the Houston fair and rodeo, so we could hear many of people talking and laughing as they walked by late into the night. Plus you hear the traffic and people in the next rooms moving things around. Our room was reserved for 4 people. We were only given 3 towels and 3 washcloths. When I asked for an additional towel and washcloth, I was told that they might not have the extra washcloth. She did happen to find one. The breakfast could’ve been a lot better. There isn’t a waffle maker. There was Italian sausage in the watered down gravy. There wasn’t any jelly for your biscuits. They ran out of orange juice.
The staff is very friendly though.

The facility was clean, it’s definitely an older hotel that could use upgrades but I would stay there again if going to the rodeo. The elevator made lots of noise that definitely made you uncomfortable to ride it, so we used the stairs. I was a bit upset that you had to pay an additional $40 parking fee per vehicle that was never mentioned until you arrived. It was only to park in their lot, due to they were allowing people to pay to park to attend the rodeo. It made it difficult to find parking for those of us staying there. Breakfast was a joke, runny eggs, biscuits and some kind of gravy that didn’t look like cream gravy. No other options nor meats.

Room was clean upon arrival, but we stayed 4 nights and our room was never cleaned. (No toilet paper, clean towels, or trash taken out.) We were also told free parking, but it was $40 per night to park and charged an extra $100 for “incidentals” once we arrived. So we ended up paying almost $300 extra once we arrived. Also the “breakfast” was a joke. Just eggs and toast most mornings and that was served late.

First time at Wingate. Usually stay next door at sister hotel Wyndham. Liked the location better because it was shorter walk to stadium and less crowded. The rooms are nearly identical. Will probably stay here more.

We were charged for parking because of the rodeo, but the hotel was also charging people who weren’t even guests to park there, which made it difficult for actual guests to find parking. The room smelled awful, like it was dirty and moldy, and the air conditioner stopped working in the middle of the night, which made the stay very uncomfortable.

The lady at the front desk was very nice, but she was unable to do anything about the parking charges, and we were not made aware of those charges ahead of time. She did offer to cancel our room at no charge, which we appreciated, but unfortunately because of the rodeo there were no other rooms available nearby for us to move to.

You have to pay per car for parking per day but they sell parking to the public which leaves little to no parking for guest( which you pay for when you check in) The “security” officers block the entrance and will not get out of their chairs to let you in. When you move their cones they chase you down and call you entitled because of your skin color. Then ask you to come outside to fight. There is mold in all of the rooms it seems.

I rated it 4 stars. It’s frustrating that they charge for parking or have an * by it when normally it is free. $40 tacked on because of an event going on. That’s the whole reason I picked that place because of the free parking. Really difficult to get ahold of staff to request an early check in. Breakfast was not ready on time so we had to leave before we got to try it. Great location for events like Houston rodeo though or anything at NRG stadium. That is within walking distance if you are looking for that.

The outside could really use a remodel. The screen doors that are framed on the inside and open on the outside are unappealing. My door did not work properly which was a safety risk and the staff honestly could have slowed down at introduction. Check-in was fast but almost too fast. Other than that room smelled great beds was clean and it was close enough to the rodeo for us to walk

On your website it says free parking . Upon arrival they charged 40$, elevators didn’t work . And the manager refused to come speak to not only myself but another guest who was having the same issue about parking . Overall it was horrible checked out very early the next morning

I was disappointed in the stay. When I arrive they informed me parking was $40 a night. That is $10 more than what it said in the sight when I reserved. When I book it said $30 parking which is high anyway and then to add $10 to it is ridiculous.
My room was not clean. The bathroom floor had something on it and the windows were dirty.
It is close to NRG stadium, that is the only plus to the stay.

The toilet leaked and ran all night, the elevator broke, the free breakfast was a joke no fruit no milk they ran out of juice and plates. The eggs were raw. The people who work there are absolutely amazing! Oh ans my king room i had book for weeks prior got givin away apong arrival. 100% not a good stay the more i talk the more i remember the socket in the washroom sid not work as well.

The first thing that bothered me was that they have parking fees. On the website it clearly says “free parking” when we checked in there was a $30 parking fee! The next issue was that some of the staff didn’t speak English very well. I told the housekeeper to come back in a few minutes to give us time to leave….. she didn’t come back at all! Also, I told the front desk worker that the door on the north side of the property didn’t lock. She said “ok I’ll check it out” and did nothing. The door remained unlocked all night. Anyone could’ve gotten in the hotel! Next is the room. It was terrible! It smelled like it hadn’t been used in years. I had to go to Walmart to get air freshener. The drapes and the dresser had dirt on them. The tub drained very very slowly! We asked to have maintenance drop by and fix it. We got back and the tub still drained slow. The only bright spot in our stay was a young man named “Waseem” he tried his best to make our stay very comfortable. To sum it all up I’ll NEVER stay there again!

I've been using this hotel for over 3 years now for the houston texans game day weekend. They didn't have their continental breakfast at all. This hotel used to have eggs, protien of either sausage or bacon, bread, bagels, milk, etc. And NOTHING of that sort was available. They also stated that they would start charging $15 dollars for gameday parking when they never did before. The staff was clearly told to also rush the guests by knocking twice within the hour before check-out to ask us \"will you be checking out soon?\" This experience was uncomfortable. The only reason i give it 2 stars is for the affordability of it.

Price has more than doubled over last 3 months. Hotel has gone down hill terribly. I was a frequent stay there and use to be ok. Now everything has changed. Huge price jump, no amenities, no empathy from staff. All appears to have changed to making more money with less or no amenities. \"Do not stay here unless you want disappointment. A $70 hotel at best and now charging over $230 a night around any events. Not safe, deadbolts not working on doors, etc.

Had to wait in line over 45 minutes just to check in. Feel light hotel is price gouging. I have stayed at this hotel over a dozen times for football games. Just recently they have more than doubled their price. They also just started charging for parking at $30 a night around any events. They no longer have refrigerator or microwave in rooms. Electrical outlets in room are terrible. They have a short in each socket and sockets are loose. Night stand outlets do not work. The deadbolt on door did not work. I feel like $75 per night is to much, yet I paid $234 per night and also wanted additional $30 per night of stay. I will never stay at this hotel again and will offer a word of advice. \"Do not stay at this hotel\", you will be very disappointed. There are no amenities as advertised, they said they have taken them out. Very dissatisfied at this hotel.

Building is very old and not well maintained. Elevator had not been safety checked and was missing pieces of interior wall. Ritalin closet next to elevator on my floor had been ‘broken into?’ And had smashed handle and lock and was always open. Hotel had gates around the property that didn’t get opened in the mornings like they were supposed to so it made travel difficult.

I saw some other reviews and was worried but the hotel was very clean and the staff friendly. The caulk in the bathrooms was brand new and so were the bathroom countertops. My one issue was the bathtub didn’t have a plug so no tub bath; and the water wasn’t as hot as I like. Breakfast was good but limited in selection. Overall pleasantly surprised and satisfied.

It was raining when we got there and there was water dripping from the ceiling everywhere. Buckets were collecting water all around the hotel, the elevators were rattling and getting stuck in the middle of floors. When we stepped off of the elevator finally there was a literal waterfall happening at the seam of it. Our room smelled horribly of mildew and mold.
