This hotel is a good choice if you have a car and want to visit Catania and nearby towns like Taormina and others. Its location allowed us to drive to towns we wanted to visit without having to deal with the heavy traffic and parking hassles of Catania every day. It has plenty of free parking on site.
The front desk staff was always helpful and friendly. The rooms were clean, spacious and very comfortable.
The worst part of our stay was the lack of dining options. There are no \"good\" restaurants or eateries within walking distance. There are a couple of decent restaurants within driving distance, but as we found out, you may need reservations on weekends and in season.
The hotel restaurant is set up to accommodate large tour groups, which usually means mediocre quality food and that's exactly what they serve. Menu is limited, food quality is mediocre to poor and service is non existent. My wife and I walked in for dinner and were told the restaurant was reserved for tour groups and they couldn't accomodate us. Upon our insistence, they reluctantly set up a small table in one corner of the dining room. Service was terrible and food quality was very poor. We never returned.

We stayed here the night befor flying back to the US. The hotel was clean, staff was friendly, and they had a bar open during the day, as well as a dining room for dinner, and our rate included breakfast (although we had to skip breakfast to catch our early flight.) Only took about 30 minutes to Catania airport. Good alternative to staying in Catania.

The hotel was great overall. The customer service was good. Our only complaint is that our room smelled like strong cigarettes. It was as if someone was smoking while cleaning. Towels, tissue paper, and pillow cases all as if we were breathing in ashtray. Aside from that, the view was great and the pool nice (minus an adult man that kept spitting in the pool!) The staff was fabulous. The breakfast was amazing and dinner very good. It was nice to get up and away from the tiny Italian streets.

Front desk took 20 minutes to check us in, weird. Second front desk person came out only to get back on their computer. Place is nice and comfortable. Pool was not open in May, and it was very swimable weather. Breakfast is in a basement, no windows and kind of eh. Great town though, comfortable beds and easy to find. Inexpensive and worth staying there though.

Not a bad hotel, the dining staff were great and very nice. The issues were 1) the bartender was always rude and treated us poorly. Asked for a corkscrew and he yelled at my wife that it was not allowed. We were offered a free drink on the hotel, were given a slip for the bar, and when we presented it to him he questioned it as if we were trying to rip him off and he called the front desk to confirm it was legit. He was a dick. 2) Too many rules. No outside food even though there were minimal options within walking distance. No snacks, wine, or anything. We just wanted to enjoy a glass of wine on the balcony but they got pissed off. 3) Lousy breakfast. Eggs were as dry as sawdust, all the bread was stale, and the options were limited. 4) Cleaning staff kept removing toiletries and not restocking. Always clean though. Would not return and would go elsewhere.

The hotel is a bit far from the airport and downtown Catania. However, with rental car, I think this hotel is a better choice for the values: it is a 4-star hotel with free buffet breakfast, self parking, and many other amenities. The staff is very friendly and helpful. For that reason, I booked twice President Park Hotel, 3-day and 2-day stays separately. I would recommend this hotel to travelers having access to cars.

Decided to splash out and spend a night in a better hotel having already paid for 3 nights in a different hotel which we did not like. The main reason was the pool. Sadly when we arrived the pool was not open, and would not be until May. I really think this should be explained prior to booking as the main photos are the pool. The hotel itself is nice, rooms lovely and comfortable. Breakfast was fab, including eggs and bacon. Nice bar- and from which nice snack sandwiches. Not walkable- up a massive hill, but loads of parking. We spotted a few restaurants behind the hotel, but didn’t try them as had sandwiches at the bar, following a large lunch earlier at the harbour. The castle is well worth a visit. Lovely area.

When we asked for the iron and ironing. Board, the board came without foam on it and they put towel instead. All in all the stay was not bad, but we did expect more.

The rooms are average. The double bed consists of two single mattresses pushed together. The mattress was a plus as it was firm. The shower did have strong water pressure with a rainfall shower head and wand.
Another plus was the breakfast buffet and breakfast room on the 4th floor with a view to the sea. They actually had eggs: hard boiled and scrambled which we found to be rare in Sicily. Skip the bacon as it tastes like shoe leather. All in all, a pleasant stay and a pleasant hotel.

It's a nice place if you want to get away from it all for a while and focus on work or just take in the scenery. I don't recommend long stays. 3 to 4 days tops will do. I do wish there were more excursion options. Management may want to consider teaming up with Airbnb experience service providers. The food is hit or miss and really depends on who is working that day. Services are a bit overpriced. The staff is friendly but could work on their follow-up, especially with email replies and guest requests. It would also be nice if there were some planned activities for guests such as live music, game nights, exercise classes etc since the hotel isn't really close to much. Definitely recommend renting a car is you want to get around and see more of the town.

Very kind at check-in. We were able to check in early and had a brilliant day hiking into Catania city centre and back. We saw so many beautiful views and lived the central square. The only downside was being below a noisy conference centre and lots of squeaky chairs and conversation noise from 6-9 pm.

Nice but confusing, with a number of faults.
Unusual place about 10km from Catania near Aci Castello, requiring a shuttle bus to travel into the nearby village, and quite an expensive taxi ride from Catania airport/train station. Appears modern, with the air of a premium hotel, but a lot of little quirks seem to let it down. Some of the service was incredibly poor and unhelpful, while other staff were really nice, and the facilities open at strange times (like the pool shutting at 7pm) or are not open at all. Lot of up to date technological aspects which are great, but also somewhat confusing, but overall the place is nicely decorated and modern. The hotel seems generally confused about what their customer base should be.

Great position of hotel, high on hillside overlooking coast of Acitrezza and with distant views of Capomulini. Glad we had hire car to explore local areas rather than relying on hotels’ (free) shuttle bus. Tasty breakfast ibuffet tems but hot items (eggs etc) not really hot enough. Live music a nice touch but 12 midnight finish on first night arrival an hour too late in my opinion.

Overall the property is very nice and one of the best places I have stayed. First time to Sicily and could not have asked for a better place to stay in Catania. A lot of different areas within an hour drive if wanting to explore, balcony overlooking the sea, and helpful staff. Only downside I found was the shower was on the smaller side, which after visiting other hotels in Italy I would believe this is normal. Bathroom was very nice, just could use a little more room to move around in shower. Would not let this from keeping me to come back for another stay are recommending it to anyone I know.

The view is phenomenal, if you get the right room. The servers at breakfast were busy, efficient, and friendly. We enjoyed the choices at breakfast. American hotels are not the best for breakfast, but the pastries, yogurt, fruit, fresh bread and meat and cheese were great! The cappuccinos were delicious!

On every opportunity they have live music (one day even until 01:00 in the morning). Due to Ferragosto we were obliged 4 consecutive nights to listen to bad loud music and after we complained music stopped at 00:00 the following days.
Of course even on the next Saturday 19/8/2017 (4 days after Ferragosto!) there was again music and bad magic tricks and we had an early flight next morning.

Hotel is a 1 km steep climb up the hillside. No pavements, little street lighting and very winding road so you are often very exposed to traffic. Shuttle bus not available in off season nor are there any buses so not really suitable to go into the local town after dark - had to eat at hotel each night. Food good but very limited menu. Breakfast very boring as same fayre each day
Although only 7 km from Catania it takes roughly an hour and a half to travel by local bus back into town and you need to go back to Catania to get transport to anywhere else on the island. Not much English spoken and the bus drivers were just ignorant. No names on stops so no idea where you are most of the time.
Although only 7 km from Catania it takes roughly an hour and a half to travel by local bus back into town and you need to go back to Catania to get transport to anywhere else on the island. Not much English spoken and the bus drivers were just ignorant. No names on stops so no idea where you are most of the time.

Very nice hotel, bit off the beaten path but that was no issue for us as we had a car. Lovely pool, good breakfast, comfortable rooms - though we did have problems with the fridge not working the first night, the in room safe never working and the air-con being a bit weak (strangely the air con is controlled centrally from reception!). Staff were helpful in trying to assist.

Me and my boyfriend recently stayed at the president park and had a great time!! The staff are lovely and so helpful!! The hotel is perhaps a bit dated but the rooms are cleaned to a great standard everyday so it wasn't such a problem :) would definitely recommend this hotel.

Once a nice hotel but very old now. Had problems with the keys and had poor assistance from the staff. Beds old and hard but clean. Nice breakfast on the top floor with a nice view. Several miles away from town and not really convenient to any of the attractions or Catania

This is our third time that we stayed in this hotel.Not only did we have a magnificant view with mountains on one side and the sea on the other.The hotel staff were always very friendly and they did their best to please us.Breakfast was really good ,a great assortment of everything ,from pastries to cereal,yoghurts,cheeses and cold cuts.I will definately stay in this hotel again

This was a nice hotel except for a VERY noisy European bus tour that were so loud in the restaurant at night it was impossible to hear yourself talk. They were singing laughing out loud that you ate your meal and ran just to get away .this hotel was quite a way out, but overlooking the sea. The provided a shuttle bus to the station ant time.

We had a lovely room overlooking the pool area. Great to be able to swim after touring the whole day. Hotel a bit far out, but we knew that before booking and decided it wouldn't bother us since we had a car. Very comfortable and clean room. Great shower with \"jacuzzi\" type sprays. The hotel is nice. Far from the centre of Catania or any other place. You'll need the car and certainly a satnav. There were rooms with balconies looking to the swimming pool but, although it was practically empty, we were given rooms looking to the back of the hotel. Things were clean but a bit old (although that seemed to happen in most hotels we stayed). The swimming pool was nice, although it closed at 18:30! We went to their restaurant twice and that was the best service of the hotel. They were lovely and the food was very very nice. Staff were nice.

Think carefully
Think carefully before staying at the President Park Hotel. I think I chose the wrong place for the time of year. On the plus side the hotel was clean and comfortable and the staff friendly and helpful (though don't speak much English, so you will need some basic Italian). Aci Castello has many second homes which in April were all shuttered up. The only people around were tradesmen getting ready for the summer. This meant there was very limited choice for eating out. The hotel is on a very steep hill and whilst it's only 20 mins to the town , (or if you go out of the back gate, 20 mins to Aci Trezza) it seems a lot more on the way back! There were a number of conferences on at the hotel - again perhaps due to the time of year. There didn't seem to be many buses to Catania. Etna was via an excursion, booked through the hotel who rang round for me.

TIP: Hotel is much easier to find if one drives along the coast (SR114 from Catania airport) rather than going out to the highway (autostrada) and then coming back in. There are hotel signs all along the way pointing you in the right direction, but the left turn off this road is quite sudden & steep so keep an eye out once you're in AciTrezza. And ask for a room with a balcony! You'll have a wonderful view of the Bay and coastline. Unfortunately, although the hotel said they had wireless internet, it was quite expensive & could only be bought for 3 hour intervals. We enjoyed our week at this hotel although I must admit we were gone each day from 9:00am to 8:00pm! Sicily is incredibly beautiful! And definitely take the Mt. Etna tour. We don't usually do tours, preferring to trek ourselves, but I'm glad we went with the hotel recommendation- Acquaterra.
It was 75 euros each for a full day, including a scrumptious homemade lunch at a Mt. Etna farm & winery. Although it was just my husband & I & the guide, I think that usually the tours are in groups. We just lucked out (I think). The hotel is an excellent location for driving to other parts of the island.
