The oldest mattress's in the Netherlands

If it's supposed to be a 4 or 5 star hotel that's somewhat newly built, then why are the king beds in the suites 20 years ild? The furniture and mattress were all falling apart. I expected alot more based on the photos of the hotel. Save yourself the disappointed and don't stay there!!

Free parking in a garage attached to the hotel is very nice and convenient. Rooms are spacious and modern. Nice views and the breakfast was excellent! Easy transport with a bus stop near by or the train station. Walking or biking is also easy to do. Highly recommended.

Absolutely loved staying at the Vander Valk Lent again. Breakfast excellent,staff lovely our only issue was the room was chilly and found the dining room and bar had the temperature set low. So had to wear cardigans and jumpers. Not a comfortable temperature

I booked this for four of us so we could attend the 80th anniversary of operation market garden. Hotel was excellent overall. Rooms are a good size with all amenities you could want and very clean.
Bar is excellent with helpful staff and the food in the restaurant was excellent.
We would definitely use this hotel again.

Comfortable room, easy access and helpful staff.

Having stayed at this hotel before, we knew it would be a good stay. The access to the freeway, central location and ease of parking makes it an easy choice.
Rooms are comfortable and stylish. This visit we found the rooms bathroom was clean and bed comfortable. While evidence of the the previous person's breakfast was on the carpet....it was probably an oversight by housekeeping.
Will plan to stay the next time we are visiting friends in the area.

Great place for a weekend getaway

We had a lovely stay in this hotel. The restaurant was wonderful in food and service. We had dinner and breakfast there. We walked into Nijmegen via the bridges over the weekend. Quick one stop from Nijmegen central if you want to use the train. We will definitely visit again. The room was very nice. Bed was so comfortable.

2 week stay in Van De Valk. Although not in the city centre the hotel makes up for this with peaceful rooms with fantastic views from the corner rooms. Service is great, and the staff are friendly. Would recommmend

We had a two bedroom suite with bunk beds. Amazing space and views. Very clean and modern. Wish there were some drawers to keep underwear and socks in. Our key cards did not work in the fitness room. We were on the 3rd floor above the terrace which was busy at times so that was awkward. Would have preferred a higher floor. Didn’t ask to move rooms as we had 2 kids and already unpacked. Restaurant was delicious. Free parking. 4 out of 5 stars.

Perfect R&R spot!

One night stay to position us for a drive to Middle Rhine area. Hotel is perfectly located on the edge of town across from a nice residential neighborhood with good food options. Hotel is new, quiet and clean with a great patio for dining al fresco.

Best family stay

We stayed one night en route from Denmark to UK. Amazing family room, small play corner, fantastic bathroom, comfy beds and an amazing breakfast buffet (really amazing). We have done quite a few of these one-nighters and will keep this one on file and return next year.

Wonderful room in a large and quiet hotel

The hotel is a 30 minute walk from downtown Nijmegen, but right next to the Nijmegen Lent train station. The walk is a fairly nice one, mostly along a bike path that goes over the river. The hotel was quiet, the room was fantastic (great bed, bathroom and separate toilet room, fridge, etc). The front desk people were very helpful.

I stayed at the Van der Valk in Nijmegen-Lent for the Velocity 2017 Conference. I had a corner room 504 and it was a dream room to look at the cycling infrastructure. I could see busy car traffic at traffic lights, a bus lane, the train station, the car park, two or more bike paths and the bike parking at the train station. It was perfect for me as I was interested in the traffic flow and the number of bikes being ridden for transport as people rode to school, to work or just for recreation on a summers day. The room was quiet and the bed was comfortable I was there for a business conference about cycling and had a wonderful 180 degree view of bike riders in the distance as I worked. The curtains could be drawn to provide privacy and enable good quality sleep when the sun was still shining brightly outside. The sunsets were beautiful from this room. It was easy to walk tot he train station and the staff were helpful with information about catching the train to the airport when I left. They have lovely bikes to hire or you can bring your own. It was an easy ride to the City of Nijmegen via the bike path on the bridge over the River Waal. I locked my bike in the secure bike parking overnight and this kept it from being out in the weather or knocked over by the wind.

Great newly built hotel with amazing views!

For those of you who know the Van Der Valk chain from the 80's and 90's: this is a whole new experience. This is a wonderful newly built hotel, with great styling of the rooms and bar and restaurant areas. We were on the 11th floor and the super comfy bed faced the window, we left the curtains open all night so we could look at the lights of the surrounding area and of the barges going along the Waal river. During the day we could see as far as Arnhem. The staff was very friendly, and the restaurant was great. I travel internationally frequently and wish I could have an experience like this everywhere I go.

The location is good for trips into Nijmegen and Arnhem, and also has very easy access into Germany. We parked in the multistory car park attached to the hotel which felt safe, and had no extra charge. For those without a car, the Lent train station is just about next door.

We felt very welcome and at home and will surely be back in the near future!

Mooi en goed restaurant, kamer op een lager niveau

Ik kijk vooral naar prijs kwaliteit en dan zit het hier niet goed. Een sober uitgewoonde kamer met pvc houdende, wandbekleding die ook nog slecht verwerkt is en loslaat op plekken.
Het restaurant en het personeel verdienen een dikke pluim!

We vonden het raar dat toen we aankwamen, we niet naar onze kamer werden gebracht. We moesten ook zelf onze koffers naar onze kamer sjouwen. Ook moesten we toeristenbelasting betalen. Naast ons verblijfskosten, vond ik de toeristenbelasting prijzig vooral voor de inwoners van Nederland. Toen we in de kamer kwamen, zagen we dat het best wel stoffig was.

Het uitzicht was wel mooi.
De locatie is wel ideaal en gelegen. Naast het station en een eigen parkeerplek.

Al met al vonden we het erg prijzig voor wat je ervoor terug krijgt.

Perfect hotel op kruipafstand van station Nijmegen-Lent voor een weekendje Nijmegen. Onze geboekte Comfort tweepersoonskamer op de hoek was verrassend ruim, had een goede douche, lekker groot bed en een - niet overdreven - prachtig uitzicht.

Het is misschien allemaal niet state-of-the-art, zoals de eenvoudig functionerende flatscreentelevisie en een wat omslachtig klimaatregeling systeem, maar als je veel op pad wil, is dat natuurlijk allemaal bijzaak.

We hebben van de verdere faciliteiten alleen gebruik gemaakt van de lunch in het café, en dat was prima verzorgd. Met een treinstation op 100m waar zich ook nog een kudde deelscooters had verzameld, was het voor ons in ieder geval de perfecte uitvalsbasis, en zouden dit hotel deze kamer iedereen aanraden.

Misschien enige verbeterpunt voor het hotel (al hebben we er niet naar gevraagd): 1 kamerpas als stel bracht ons soms wat logistieke problemen. Daar hadden we graag allebei 1 van gehad, en kan personeel mogelijk ook werk ontzien wanneer er bijvoorbeeld een deur per ongeluk wordt dichtgetrokken met de pas nog in de kamer.
