The new owner has been in place for about two years -- during the pandemic -- and has used the time to improve everything. The staff is excellent. Very nice dining rooms and lounge. Easy access to everything in town and to the university. It's the best place in Wageningen to stay.

After being in many nice, comfortable “chain” hotels, the hotel de wereld was a very nice surprise. It’s so very unique! Which sets it apart in our opinion. Their vision is to create each guest room in honor of a person who has contributed to the cause of freedom. We were in room 107, dedicated to Ingrid Lindgren of “Pippi Longstocking” fame. Such a whimsical room, with a real swing and reminders of the book and shows everywhere! We didn’t see any other rooms but ours was just the best. Beyond the decor, though, the service, friendliness, excellent-English-speaking team members, breakfast (huge and excellent!) and location are just top-notch. Very highly recommend this hotel!

Everyone at this hotel has been amazing. Very friendly and helpful about the hotel history, which is why we wanted to stay here. Also, very helpful and knowledgeable about the city. I asked if it was Asparagus time and the chefs made a special dinner with Asparagus for us. The restaurant is great. We want to stay here again soon.

Lovely room and very friendly staff. The room we had was very spacious, clean and well-equipped with a kettle and coffee maker. The sense of history attached to the hotel has been preserved downstairs in the wood-panelled lounge and bar. The location is in the centre of town - close to the shops and within a short drive of many WWII sites. All-in-all, a delightful stay.

Check was easy and friendly. The delix double room was lovely spacious and well decorated w coffee machine and fridge. The bed was big and the linen clean. The bathroom stunk of urine and despite telling the staff this was not fixed. The walls are thin and there was workmen outside my windows loudly chatting at 8am.
Breakfast was great and plentiful. I had a hot choc which was dangerously hot and I’m still missing the tastebuds from my tounge.
That being said ... this is a quaint historic traditional Dutch hotel and it is super cute. Just avoid room 106 it stinks and there’s a weird wet patch in front of the shower

Helaas konden we geen gebtuik maken van het terras dan wel restaurant ivm t.v. opnames. Op mokn opmerking daarover gaf men aan dat er een mail gestuurd zou zijn hierover. Deze heb ik niet ontvangen. Wanneer ik e.a. Van te voren had hewesten had ik voor een ander moment gekozen om in dit hotel te overnachten.

Vindbaarheid: Mijn GPS kon het hotel makkelijk vinden.
Parkeren: Als je van de stadszijde aankomt stuit je op een barriere. We moesten aan de receptie vragen hoe en waar we konden parkeren. Kom je van de andere kant dan zie je wel een verwijzing naar een (stads) parkeerplaats. Pas als je die borden volgt zie je later borden met Parkeren hotel. De parkeerkosten waren heel laag (€ 3,50 per dag).
Ligging: Het hotel ligt pal midden in het centrum. Voor slecht ter been zijnde mensen ideaal.
Receptie: Tijdens corona crisis lag receptie vlak bij keuken. Je kon de koks aan het werk zien. Het personeel was uiterst behulpzaam. De receptie wist niet welke TV-zenders er te zien waren op de kamer. (We wilden de formule 1 zien)
Lift: Er is een lift (klein) maar om onze kamer te bereiken moesten we wel een hellingbaan en een trapje van 4 treden nemen. Niet geschikt voor rolstoelgebruikers.

Algemeen: Er was een ruime variatie aan lectuur beschikbaar (gratis) bij receptie, waaronder 2 kranten.
Terras: Ruim terras onder bomen aan de \"stille\" kant van het hotel. Met zicht op gasvlam en \"Nakie\".
Parkeren: Als je van de stadszijde aankomt stuit je op een barriere. We moesten aan de receptie vragen hoe en waar we konden parkeren. Kom je van de andere kant dan zie je wel een verwijzing naar een (stads) parkeerplaats. Pas als je die borden volgt zie je later borden met Parkeren hotel. De parkeerkosten waren heel laag (€ 3,50 per dag).
Ligging: Het hotel ligt pal midden in het centrum. Voor slecht ter been zijnde mensen ideaal.
Receptie: Tijdens corona crisis lag receptie vlak bij keuken. Je kon de koks aan het werk zien. Het personeel was uiterst behulpzaam. De receptie wist niet welke TV-zenders er te zien waren op de kamer. (We wilden de formule 1 zien)
Lift: Er is een lift (klein) maar om onze kamer te bereiken moesten we wel een hellingbaan en een trapje van 4 treden nemen. Niet geschikt voor rolstoelgebruikers.
