My partner and I recently stayed at The Samaya Seminyak (Nov 2025) and it was stunning, the villa was so luxurious surrounded by beautiful gardens, the staff and personal butler were amazing and so friendly (nothing was too much trouble), the food was delicious, and the resort is in a perfect location, right on the beach and easily accessible by foot to everything. HIGHLY Recommended!! We will definately be back.

My second visit to Bali was also my second stay at Samaya. Quiet in the midst of the central Seminyak. Walking distance to everything I needed to be. Only set back was the breakfast was limited . Would be nice to have a buffet spread . Other than this , it was excellent!!!

The Samaya is an amazing hotel on all levels. The location is perfect with easy walks to all of the best restaurants and shopping in Seminyak. Even an easy beach walk to Kuta/Legian and Canggu if you're keen. The staff are all super friendly and keen to help with anything that you need. We'll be back for sure!

Fab stay. Greeted with a garland! Villas are excellent and hotel pools are clean and great to swim in. Spa treatment was fabulous and a real treat but one can use local street spas as well .Beach is great for walking and talking surf lessons. We regularly had breakfast with sea view. 6 nights wasn’t long enough.

Another perfect stay at the Samaya!

Our 2 night stay was perfect, from the check-in, the villas, the restaurant, the staff and of course the views it was all perfect!
The resort is very well maintained. The villas are amazing, very spacious and clean. The staff is so attentive, it’s like they could read your mind…they’re right next to you before you actually call them.
The restaurant staff especially Mini was absolutely awesome, she brought me a pillow for my back every time we ate at the there.
This is my second time staying at the Samaya and will surely be back for a third time as soon as I can.
I would definitely recommend!!

Truly excellent hotel- the 1 bed villa with private pool was such a pleasant experience and exceeded our high expectations- both in size as well as facilities. The staff were universally friendly and genuine, the spa is excellent, the sunset view is beautiful, and the hotel is right next to, but nicely removed from the hubbub of Seminyak. In-resort food and drinks are fairly priced and great quality. Attention to detail is excellent. I cannot really pick a fault with his hotel. The standard is high- keep up the great work!

It’s hard to write this review as the Samaya is a gorgeous resort. Unfortunately the property has not been well maintained during covid. We stayed in the Royal Pavillion (top category) o the first day a piece of decking flipped up an cut my foot. The entire decking was unsafe.
The staff are fabulous …. Would I stay again, yes if they replaced the decks as it’s a serious accident waiting to happen.

The Samaya is a beautiful property on the beach of Seminyak. Close enough to the touristy areas of Legian and Kuta by taxi, but far enough away to avoid the noise and crowds. We were welcomed by Angela, who was obviously a world traveler too. Her perspective really helped us make better choices on how we wanted to spend our time in the area. Everyone was very helpful and friendly at The Samaya. A nice man by the name of Yoga was always around to make sure we were happy. Yes, we were! The Samaya is a great choice with some shopping, restaurants, and street food down the street. They can often book a late checkout for a fee, which is wonderful. Bali can be hot and humid. A lot of flights leave Bali late at night, a dip in a plunge pool in the afternoon can be heaven as you wait for your flight. Once you enjoy a plunge pool in a hot location, you will never go without. I would recommend the 1 bedroom pool villa, as it is close to the beach and very large. It shouldn't go without saying, the included breakfast was really good. The breakfast consists of an a la carte menu that has traditional western and Balinese dishes that are prepared to order. There were plenty of items to satisfy even vegetarians. It was obvious they take pride in their Breeze Restaurant.

Stayed in both one bedroom pool villa & courtyard villa. Personally prefer courtyard though not in main complex.
Pool villa-close to beach, clean and new towels. Complain, found a piece of tissure paper floating in the kettle, sticky thing at bottom of cups! : (

We stayed at royal court villas for two nights. These are villas across the road and down the lane from the main complex. We fully utilised hotel buggies to ferry to and from the main complex. It was so seamless as it would turn up within minutes. This complex is also a short 2 min walk from Semyniak square.
Villa (no 317) had an amazing large pool and many luxuries inc spa, twin showers etc. Minor negative was consistent construction noise during the day from the neighboring site.
Highlight of our stay was customer service which at Samaya is second to none. Nothing was too much trouble inc late check out, numerous buggy rides at all times and so on. It is what separates old world hotel like Samaya from new hotels like Indigo where we spent 3 night and ultimately regretted.

Stayed at the Samaya for our honeymoon - we stayed in the villa's which are about a 5 minute short walk from the main hotel. The villas are amazing - we had an amazing pool with lovely garden and very clean and well kept rooms. Breakfast is complimentary and can be taken at any time of the day (which we took full use of after our nights out in the Seminyak area drinking cocktails), the mini-bar is free and refilled everyday and the complimentary afternoon tea meant was also great. The main plus of this hotel is the service, where the butlers and all members of staff are incredibly helpful. Seminyak itself is slightly more reserved then Kuta (which feels like a south east asian version of Ibiza), but still had plenty of bars and restaurants to explore that after a week we still felt we had only scratched the surface. We absolutely loved the hotel and would definitely recommend it to others

We had a villa and it was beautiful. Hotel is on the beach and in a very good location within a few steps to Mexicola one way and KuDeTa the other way.

I was a bit disappointed in the service at this hotel. We stayed for 7 nights and this hotel is not cheap so you would expect great prompt service. Not here though. Often, we would order the standard afternoon complimentary afternoon tea and we would be kept waiting over 30 minutes for it to arrive. This happened on about 3 or 4 occasions. Some staff didn't understand or speak English well enough. Some staff were wonderful and remembered our names straight away. Nice hotel but no wow factor for us.

A superb hotel with wonderful apartments

Top class facilities and helpful staff ensured our stay was relaxing, enjoyable and one of the best resorts we have stayed in. The flexibility of having breakfast whenever we wanted was really useful - especially when we were jet lagged and didn't wake up until 12 noon! The afternoon tea was a bonus too together with the all inclusive mini bar. We felt very well looked after and the staff were attentive without being over bearing.

Wow! Best and most relaxing in Bali

This was the last of 8 resorts we stayed at on our 16 day trip to Bali, and it was the best!!
That being said, it was also the most expensive but so worth it.

I researched almost every resort in Seminyak, I'm a research nut, and my conclusion was that this was the best for what we were looking for: large room, private pool, quiet and relaxin', easy access to the beach/ ocean, walkable area with spas/ shopping/ etc. I compared this with The Legian, Oberoi, W, Alila, Anantara, Katamama, Luna2, and Elysian (which I also stayed at and was amazing).

So what was so great?

Well first off the room. Wow. I've never been more impressed at first sight of a room, ever. I've been to resorts around the world and this is definitely one of the biggest and best. Huge private pool, big enough to do laps in, a monstrous bathroom with indoor and outdoor shower, and huge jacuzzi. Then there's the large bedroom with king+ sized bed that was soo darn comfortable you never want to leave it.

After being wowed by the room, the wows kept a coming. With the level of service, the quality of the food/ drink, and the very relaxing property that is facing the ocean where you can watch the sunset every evening. I walked a large part of the legian/ seminyak beaches and this was definitely one of the nicest and closest beach access resorts.

Note, we were looking for relaxing and thats what we got. If you wanted more of a party I'd suggest something like Katamama or W.

The Samaya Seminyak definitely is a hotel were the guests receive a royal welcome. You have your own personal butler with a 24/7 service and the villas are certainly very spacious. Breakfast is great with a nice ocean view. The villas are indeed on the expensive side but as a guest you also receive a 1st class treatment. The Samaya Seminyak is certainly on my list again for my next Bali visit

We stayed here for 5 nights and it was a wonderful stay. The villa was spotless and extremely comfortable. The staff were friendly, helpful and kind. We were travelling with a small baby and he was looked after so well by the staff. The resort pool is in a lovely location, looking out over the beach. The meals were delicious and the hotel is close to some great restaurants as well. I would highly recommend staying at The Samaya if you visit Bali.

Great in all aspects but mind u when u reserve the villas they will put u in compound opposite to the beach side which is secluded and looks like a prison.
When u ask to upgrade to the beach front. Here comes the trick. 50% additional fees from ur booking fees.for me its worth it.but as for bali and for prices in bali its over priced but again its a magical place.

Six days as a Princess

Far too many vacation experiences have been memorable and very nice, but with these trips i was always a tourist visiting. AT the Samaya in Seminyak for the first time i felt like a princess, transformed not only by the scenery and facilities but by the service. This hotel is not large and sits on some prme beach real estate in an area of Seminyak filled with restaurants and shops. The villas are out of this world. They are very private and luxuriously furnished for comfort but not over the top. The private swimming pool and lounging area is very romantic and peaceful. The outdoor shower room is just one option of three for bathing in each villa (also an oversized jacuzzi and oversized indoor shower). The giant king bed is very comfortable. Outside the villa, the grounds are magnificent, with the greenery of the well kept lawn contrasting with the blue of the communal pool and ocean. Even though we had the villa, we still found ourselves drawn to the comfortable lounge chairs and cabanas by the ocean during the day or at night for a sunset cocktail. But the most important thing to know about the Samaya are the people. We were always greeted with a smile and by name. Many of our wishes were anticipated and our requests were always accomodated with politeness. These are not just staff workers, but professionals from the butler, to the waitress to the front office. Thank you to all for their kindess and excellent care.

Fabulous boutique hotel

Lovely small hotel with a very secluded and private feel yet offering all the service benefits of a larger complex. Staff made a big difference to our stay being very attentive yet offering us enough space to not feel crowded. Location suited us, was a little bit out of Seminyak Village (about a 20 min walk) or $2 in a taxi (but the hotel offers a free shuttle service also). Restaurant was excellent as was the setting. I'm the sort of person that normally books the best available room in a hotel but we went for the pool villa which was fabulous, I didn't feel we had missed out on their better accommodation as I believe essentially the rooms/suites are basically the same, it's just the courtyard etc that is larger. We went out of season and prefer a quieter complex with no children so not sure how it would compare in high season.
The spa is well fitted and the staff very attentive.

Great villa. Excellent staff. Perfect Location

Had a wonderful stay. Villa was perfect- quiet, luxurious and perfect pool with the right combination of sun and shade. Staff were friendly and went out of their way to assist us and give us a late check-out till 1600 at no additional cost. The massage was perfect overlooking the beach. Delicious breakfast and afternoon teas. Ate at Breeze their restaurant twice. 2 minute walk to Bodyworks (more massages) and so close to Potato Head and Ku de Ta- easy walk along the beach. Will definitely be back.

We stayed in the Royal Courtyard Villas and loved our time there. The villas were beautiful and very private. Nice and close to the resort and beach and also so close to seminyak square. The restaurant was great. The staff from Samaya were wonderful. Highly recommend

Lived up to it's expectations

There has been many times we have booked into hotels to be greatly disappointed as they don't resemble the description or photos on their websites. Not in this case, in fact it exceeded our expectations. Our villa was was extremely well equipped with quality fittings, air contioning units, lovely fresh linen, toiletries and not to mention the private swimming pool, totally magic. Our room was serviced twice a day, with a bed turndown service (and a yummy wee treat left in a room every evening).There was a small mini bar available to us free of charge. The staff were just amazing. They were ever so friendly, greeted us with our named and very obviously enjoyed their work, nothing was ever too much trouble. Made our holiday a memorable one and we can't wait to go back.
