Fabulous stay

Lovely small French hotel in Valbonne, would highly recommend the hotel and will definitely return!
Has a great sister Italian restaurant next door as well . Breakfast was simple but tasty with freshly made eggs if your choice . Bernadette was so helpful and even gave us a lift into the village when we couldn’t get a taxi !

While not the most expensive or opulent hotel, we absolutely loved our stay there. The only negative is if you have a car the parking is difficult at night due to the awesome adjacent restaurant. The staff went above and beyond to help with the parking situation. Would absolutely stay again. Wonderful property and staff. Lovely pool and grounds.

Traditional provencal style hotel that has recently been tastefully renovated with lovely bathrooms. Ideally situated for trips to Valbonne, Mougins and Cannes. Huge parking area and next door to an excellent Italian restaurant, Trattoria Quattro.

Overall we had a great stay. The rooms and property are well kept and very clean. There is plenty of free parking with the exception of lunch and dinner hours due to sharing a parking lot with the restaurant next door (which is understandable since the food there was amazing). The pool area is very relaxed. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. I would definitely stay there again on a return visit.

Great

Great room on the first floor with a nice balcony overlooking the pool. Very comfortable, great amenities and highly recommended. The only slight negative was that we didn't have a door on the bathroom which some people might not mind.

Shortage of doors in France?

Wonderful hosts, great location and beautiful surroundings. Mosquitos were a slight bother around the pool, and the popularity of the restaurant attached to the hotel meant that parking spaces could run out between 7pm and 9pm but the only real issues we had were that there weren't enough doors! No door on the shower meant the bathroom floor flooded every time, and no door on the bathroom meant we had to draw the full-length curtains every time someone wanted to use the toilet, or people walking by outside got the full show through the glass patio doors! Either the hotel needs to screen the rooms from people walking by with some cleverly placed shrubs, or they need to invest in doors. Having said all that, I recommend La Bastide and we will definitely return soon.

one of the reasons I booked this hotel because of the pool. When we arrived the pool had no water and the female staff member I spoke to was nonchalent about the fact there was no water and was patronising when I asked when it will be full.
During my stay I couldn't use the pool for this reason and other friends who booked the same weekend for a bday in France were also disappointed. Also we couldn't sit outside on deck chairs because she couldn't be bothered to put out all the cushions until we had to ask her but that seemed like a task for her. The reception area also needs music for ambience, it feels like a library that you can't talk in.

Nic hotel, but late night noise from kitchen.

Nice hotel with character. However rooms towards the back left of the hotel along the corridor are directly above the kitchen of the Italian restaurant attached. Therefore we were kept awake until midnight every night and there was often banging in the morning too. We asked to moved rooms but the staff said they couldn’t help us as the hotel was full. Also we unfortunately had a room without a balcony.

We really enjoyed our stay at Hotel La Bastide De Valbonne. The room was spacious and clean. The staff were amazingly friendly and helpful. We really liked the pool/terrace area.

The Wi-Fi, however, was unacceptably poor - especially when the neighbouring restaurant was full of customers using the shared internet connection. With Instagram inaccessible, I was forced to talk to my partner at breakfast. ;)

Hotel of choice in area, much better option than golden tulip. Only issue is room on ground floor near reception can be noisy in morning when people walk down corridor to breakfast room in reception. Breakfast is basic but ok, recommend going early though as there was not much selection by 9:30. Staff are great.

.SIX LOVELY DAYS IN VALBONNE, COTE D'AZUR

Most helpful, pleasant staff. Location quite convenient although difficult to walk into Valbonne itself, due to distance and lack of pavement.
Only real complaint was the pool area which was quite confined with all sun loungers crammed into one side, the other side being restricted to a plethora of tables/chairs which were never used by guests!!
We enjoyed the brightest and best located room on the first floor with a balcony overlooking the pool. Small bathroom but most comfortable bed.

Out in the middle of No Where

I see why this hotel had openings when all others were booked full. It is in the middle of no where.
It is Not in Valbonne!!
Even our Uber driver had difficulty finding it. We arrived ready to put our bags in the room and get some dinner. However, should you not want to eat at this hotel's restaurant, you are going to have to drive to Valbonne, so again called Uber. Once in at the tiny town, most of the restaurants were booked with previous reservations. In the room, the tv was crammed atop an old dresser in a closet. The view outside the room revealed some dry and dead bushes against a view of the road. Breakfast was the only positive. It was good and seating was by the pool.
Went to Valbonne from a Rick Steves recommendation. My husband I were in France 2 weeks and Valbonne and La Bastide were the low point of our trip. Every other town OUTSIDE of The Valbonne area/La Bastide and our vacation experience was wonderful.
I am cautious of information that gives sparkling reviews of hotels, restaurants, towns when contemplating travel. Cross reference information carefully when planning your trip. Who is writing some of these reviews stating XYZ was spectacular, I question?

Nice hotel but some room issues

Hotel was pleasant, quiet and relaxing around the pool. Staff were friendly. However our room was on the front facing the busy road and the car park for the newly opened restaurant next door. We also had a lot of noise coming from the kitchen of the restaurant through the connecting door at the end of the corridor our room was on which carried on well into the night, mainly dishes and cutlery being washed. Despite several discussions with staff nothing was done or offered about this other than moving rooms on the second to last night which at that point was more hassle than it was worth. The room was also a tight fit for four people.

I spent 3 days on cycling holiday and the hotel was perfectly located for me. Room was clean and quiet with a terrace. Breakfast was excellent with a fresh selection of food. Hotel staff was very friendly and always helpful in giving advices and helping me to store the bicycle safely overnight.

A lovely hotel with very helpful staff

We were delighted with our week's stay at this hotel.
The room was most comfortable and led straight out onto the patio and pool.
Breakfast was fabulous and lovely to eat outside.
The staff were very friendly and helpful.
We found the location perfect with easy access to Cannes / Nice / Monaco and also the hilltop villages of St Paul de Vence, Gourdon, Mougins.
We would certainly stay there if we visit the area again.

Lush Cote d'Azur gardens, arbors, patios and pool. Public areas inside and out are pristine and lovely. Our room was a walk-out to the pool with a private two-part patio with full dining set. Inside was ordinarily roomy with a nice desk, bed, armoire, chairs, and bedside tables. Two sinks for convenience.

Stopped here for one night on a business trip and found it an excellent choice. The room was very comfortable in a cottagey, rustic style and there was an open fire in the lounge. Mid week in February and the hotel appeared really quiet. My satnav found it a little difficult to find and it's in a quiet, slightly remote area where you certainly need a car. The reception staff were excellent - friendly and helpful. Really nice breakfast as well. Will definitely return if I'm working in this area again in the future.

Short stay prior to wedding

The hotel is small but personal. The rooms are a good size with some with a sofa and some with an extra bed. The rooms on the ground floor all have small terraces with half looking onto the pool. We had a room on the ground floor on the pool side with a sofa and it was fine. The only minor issue is that other guests breakfast around the pool and are close to the bedroom windows. The second night we were joined by our son and moved to a non-poolside room with an extra bed. The extra bed was fine for a 6' person. Breakfast was continental and of very good quality with lots of choice. It should be noted that there is not a lift to the first floor. The grounds are small but beautiful. Parking is easy and close to the hotel reception. The hotel is too far out of Valbonne to walk especially in the summer and as the hotel does not do evening meals a drive to the town is necessary. However there are several good restaurants in Valbonne.

Everything you could hope for as Cote D'Azur base

The hotel location is close to everything yet away from the beaten (and crowded) path. Exactly what we were looking for. It was scrupulously clean and well appointed. The pool area was a relaxing oasis. All that being said, the best thing about this place is the staff. They are unerringly cheerful, helpful, and efficient. Julianne, especially, was extremely helpful in assisting us with locating places to go (or not go) and where to find what we were looking to see and do.

I would wholeheartedly recommend this hotel for those that have their own transportation and want to be in a centrally located relaxing environment.

La robinetterie de la 101 douche, est un peu grippée donc pas facile à fermer lorsque tu as les mains pleine de savon ! Sinon tout le reste très bien !

We hebben hier met veel plezier verbleven. Mooi hotel in Franse stijl, goed onderhouden en zeer betaalbaar! Een van de fijne dingen van een klein hotel is dat er altijd wel een ligbed beschikbaar is aan het zwembad. Naast het hotel vind je een heerlijk Italiaans restaurant. Een auto is wel een must.
Wij komen hier zeker nog een keer terug.

Hotel bonito, acogedor y cómodo. Con terraza privada y nevera pequeña. Muy limpio y personal amable. Un puntito de mejora: no había una puerta entre la habitación y baño, por la cual la gente de la piscina podrían verte en el baño.

Établissement de petite taille , convivial où il fait bon se reposer au calme autour de la piscine en journée.
Situé à quelques minutes de la ville de Valbonne.

En revanche , notre chambre étant mitoyenne à la cuisine du restaurant de l'hôtel, nous avons été réveillés tôt le matin par le bruit de la mise en place.

Chambre dans une bastide agréable

Excellent accueil avec une très belle chambre dans le style provençal et une vue agréable sur l'intérieur du mas (vue piscine).
Petit bémol, la télévision se trouve dans le placard et est peu visible sauf en étant allongé sur le lit (3 chaines de la TNT manquante).
Autre point négatif, pas d'eau chaude le matin pendant une demi-heure ...

Fantastisk og nyrenovert hotell, men at de pusser opp rommene og lager toalett og dusj uten dør trekker ned. Ellers så hadde vi et flott døgn på hotellet. Den italienske restauranten i tilknytning til hotellet var topp!

Nice and clean hotel a bit far from the village

It is a great hotel, very clean. They clean the hotel all the time. The hotel it self is nice and the room is comfortable. The negative is that the leg room in the bathroom from the toilet to the wall is very tight and I don´t have long legs and there is no fridge in the room.

I had a room with a balcony facing the pool. It was nice to sit on and read etc. The pool is not heated so it was a bit cold when we were there. It is almost 2 k into the village which is not far but there is no sidewalk and heavy traffic so it doesn´t feel safe walking. That made us depended on taking the car for dinner.

Overall I really liked the hotell and would stay here again.

Stille og rolig sted litt utenfor Valbonne

Hotellet og restauranten Trattoria Quatro er drevet av en hyggelig familie.Da vi var der i mi var restauranten stengt tirsdager og onsdager. Vi spiste der en dag og restauranten kan anbefales ( Litt høyt lydnivå )Hotellet er en nydelig gammel bygning med fin hage og bassenganlegg. Frokosten var veldig god med nydelig hjemmelaget brød. Vårt standard rom lå på bakkeplan og hadde en hyggelig sittegruppe utenfor. Rommene var store og sengene gode men badet veldig lite ( men det var helt ok) Hotellet ligger fredelig til.Det er ca 20 min å gå til Valbonne sentrum. Greit å gå om dagen men bil anbefales om kvelden. Anbefales absolutt!
