The property needed updating, I wasn’t sure if they were starting to do it as the corridor lights were hanging off the wall. The room was clean and the view from the balcony was great but that too needed a lick of paint. The grounds outside the hotel needed a good clean there was cigarette ends everywhere.

The staff went out of their way to get a downstairs room ready for my parents who couldn't manage the stairs.
The hotel was conveniently situated. Plenty of parking. The room was a good size and the bed very comfortable.
All round very satisfied.

Great location and host - but needs updating

The owner of the hotel is fantastic and offered brilliant service, it was a real pleasure to be a guest of her's and really went out of her way to help. The hotel looks like it's been mid-renovation though and the rooms are not in great shape... in fact, a bit poor. While very clean, my bathroom was not easy you use and had a dripping WC pan all night... also the food service at the bar was closed during my stay, so there was no food in the evenings and being 'out-of-season', there are no alternatives in the village. Great location, just needs smartening up.

Staff lovely had an issue sorted straight away . The lady serving breakfast very friendly and meals lovely we ate in the restaurant at night too and very nice .
Room had a lovely view from a balcony
Think some rooms have been refurbished and others I think will be done too
Enjoyed our stay good location.

This hotel was ok for us as we only needed a bed for the night and didn’t have high expectations.
It was a bit noisy as it’s a bar and there was a party on but it didn’t go on much beyond 12pm, the breakfast was home cooked and really nice. I noticed it is pet friendly too

Fawlty Towers in Cemaes Bay.

No shaver point, no full length mirror, had to ask to get towels changed, ran out of loo roll. Room never serviced in 5 days. No information in room. Good shower but ran either very hot or cold. No evening meal for 3 nights.

Yes it is tired looking, room was basic but bed was clean along with bathroom.

Hotel in need of total renovations!

Room very dated, door needed replacing as well as everything else. Room warm asked for fan never got one. Waited 1 1/2 hours for food, when it came chicken breast was like rubber and inedible. We were told there were no others rooms we could change to and he also pointed out that it stated on the website that the hotel was in the middle of renovations, IT DID NOT STATE THIS. Shower room needed gutting and no place to dry yourself after as toilet was in the way (the sink was in the bedroom!)
Thankfully we were only there one night!

Excellent friendly staff ,made very welcome excellent food ! Hotel needs refreshing but manager agreed and did say that it's a work in progress situation ! Would definitely recommend this hotel and will definitely be going again later this year !

The hotel was spotlessly clean the rooms are basic but have everything you need. The staff & Ben the owner are very much on the ball friendly & helpful.s The most intriguing & quirky positive part of the hotel is the large interesting bar area which acts like a bar, restaurant, lounge, coffee shop & general hang out community hub fantastic!!!

Overnight stay

Cemaes was a very convenient play for an overnight stay for us. Unfortunately, there was very loud music (couldn't even hear the TV in our room) but it did stop after 11pm. We enjoyed a big room, great harbour view and a balcony. Food was good.

Comfortable Hotel

We really love going to The Harbour. It could do with a bit of updating, but it is clean, food is excellent and the staff are so friendly, accommodating and excellent in their work. And of course they are dog friendly.
Many thanks again and see you again soon.

No thanks . Feel sorry for staff .

The staff were really nice and friendly but that's the only good bit . From the moment you step into the room ( or hours could have done a limbo under the gap under door ) it was disappointing. Didn't get any sleep as every 20 - 30 mins what I can only guess , the tank filled for the mens urinals below my bedroom ( no14 ) . The bedrooms are really dated and shower is either hot or cold . The food was just ok . Was going to order from specials menu , to be told that shouldn't be given out as there was no specials on . For the price of hotel , I have stayed in alot better . Think it just relies on location to get people in , without spending on rooms . Could be really nice ! Asked in the evening about having an earlier breakfast as had ferry to catch . Went down to be told NO ! Not even offered coffee or toast !

Loud and mouldy needs updating, like a hostel

We stayed in a family room, which was situated right above the bar area, music was blaring till very late and you could hear acrual coversations in the bar. So kept our kids awake. Our view was a wall and flat roof and the mould on the walls by the window and on the roof in shower room was awful. Quilt was very thin so we were cold, and walls paper thin so next door to us had their TV loud till 5am!!! So zero sleep for us. Furniture was painted but not well, and this was a 4 person room with only 2 cups??? Also, need to tighten the bunk beds, slightest move and they were creaking and wobbling, the youngest thought they were going to collapse. Badly in need of decorating and updating, and all the doors to the rooms looked like they didnt fit, this should not even have a 1 star rating, its more like a hostel. Only saving grace was the breakfast which was very nice, and the blonde lady serving was lovely.

Unfortunately The hotel is not suitable for over night guests when they have a group / band on as the rooms have no sound proofing

We had an email to notify us that they had a live band on & that the bar would be busy
It didn’t mention the noise level for the bedrooms

The band started at 9.30 & went on till 12.30 so we couldn’t sleep as we appeared to be directly over the speaker.

They’re either a gig venue or hotel but definitely not suitable for both

We have stayed several times previously but never when there has been entertainment on

This is such a shame as it is in a beautiful location, the balcony rooms have a lovely view over the beautiful harbour
But when you’re up early to explore the surrounding areas you need to be able to sleep
Hence we will be looking for another place to stay on our next visit

We arrived just before 9.30 in the evening and received a nice welcome from a young lady who quickly got us to our room, we then returned to the bar shortly afterwards for a couple of drinks before bedtime as we had been travelling all day. The same young lady served us at the bar, and again in the morning for breakfast, which was very good, she was extremely courteous and professional and looked after us very well.
The staff seem to do their best to keep on top of things and the room was clean, but the whole place is in poor condition and needs a refurb. I wouldn’t stay here again unless I knew it had been.

Room was ideal for us and very comfortable. Staff were very friendly and helpful. We were visiting friends near by so hotel location was great and being so close to the lovely bay and beach an added bonus. Finally the breakfast was fantastic one of the best hotel breakfasts we have had! Great value - would use again.

My stay was amazing, came for 4 nights with partner and my two dogs, hotel staff where friendly, food was lovely, rooms where big and very clean, my dogs got a tennis ball and treat each from the staff, would highly recommend, location is brillant too

Just the job!

Great position for coastal path walking, lovely views whilst having breakfast food was good and plentiful, we had fish pie for evening meal. Hotel / pub a bit tired and grubby in places but room was clean and towels fluffy.
Would stay again for the price.
Staff were friendly and helpful.

Lovely one night stay

We had a lovely 1 night stay the room was lovely and clean the bed was very comfortable and the balcony was a huge bonus, overlooking the beach. Service in the bar and restaurant was very good and the food was excellent. We had Sunday lunch and breakfast the following day. We will be back to visit this little gem.

We have been before & always made to feel very welcome it’s a great place to stay & they welcome pets too which is great for family’s with their children who have flown the coup but you still have four legged children in your care the food is good & service too it’s nice & warm inside & the rooms are comfortable & cozy the staff are hard working they are always busy doing something the views are quite frankly stunning it’s a little fishing village & everyone knows everyone but they do go out of their way to make it homely for you !
All in all no complaints to be very fair ! 👍
