Great stay, the room was well presented, warm and cosy. The staff, friendly. The meals in the pub, excellent. Breakfast in the tea room was also 1st class.
On our second night, we went to the pubs sister pub, The Anchor, and listened to the folk club. Absolutely brilliant. We will be back.

Family summer stay
We stayed for 2 nights in a family room, our room was small for 4 people but had everything we needed. The sofa bed wasnt the best, however we asked for a 2nd duvet to put ontop of the mattress and they were bmvery obliging and helpful. The staff are very courteous and nothing was too much trouble. The room was spotlessly clean. The kids loved the sweets left for them. The filter coffee in the room was a really nice touch. We ate in the restaurant the 1st evening and the food was very nice and service good. The breakfast was really nice and is cooked to order. Again service was fabulous. The 2nd evening we went to the curry cabin for a meal and we had a lovely meal. Food and service again was great. Was nice to see everywhere so busy.

Hotel is in amazing Peak District area. Located above the pub but we wasnt bothered about any noice. Room and amenities are a bit dated but its comfy and pleasant. Its great for the location.

Staff very welcoming and pub busy due to arrival of off road bikers and a motor cycle group- who remained outside and were no problem.As only pub open a number of locals and small folk music group present. Room a bit dark as property very old and en-suite rather basic. Carpets on stairs to rooms need replacing. Breakfast was limited due a problem however again staff very good.

Big disappointment was breakfast was not included in the price. £115 I’ve never booked an hotel that doesent offer free breakfast I’m sure it was listed has free. But we had to pay. We don't usually stay in a B and B but we booked this one for a Terrorvision. gig in a cave in Castleton. It was a beautiful walk to and from the venue.
The room was absolutely lovely and the staff were brilliant.
Free parking made the deal even sweeter.

Very happy with our stay. Staff were helpful and friendly. Room was very comfortable and bathroom was clean and the shower was easy to use. The only slight problem was we were in room 2 and the traffic outside was a bit noisy!

We dumped our luggage and went into the bar/restaurant for a bite to eat. Service was great and food delicious. I had the steak pie and have to say best I’ve had for a long time. My wife had the burger which was equally as good.
Had a really good nights sleep and the bed itself was really comfy as were the pillows/duvet.
Breakfast was in the cafe and having arrived we were told by the woman serving that there was a “no show” from the chef but she would do her best to get us a decent breakfast and offered tea and toast. Some 10 mins or so after we arrived the chef did turn up, so we were able to order a cooked breakfast after all. Have to say the lady in the cafe was brilliant in managing the situation she found herself in and it didn’t spoil our breakfast experience.

It was quirky, and I might even add ,a bit spooky- 4 posterbed, dripping chandeliers everywhere, creaking floorboards a creepy suit of armour in stairwell, view over graveyard( Bamford suite). I loved it ,to be honest. It had all mod coms,too, and I would recommend it to all, especially Goths and those of us looking for somewhere a bit different with character.
Try the Indian restaurant in the village ,it's excellent. But get your alcohol from Spar first.

Pub was great with good beer and nice atmosphere. Room was spotless and well equipped. The bed was rather rickety and the matress and pillows exceptionally soft. The bathroom again was spotless and well equipped but the macerator smelt really bad. The problem was the noise from the bar both on the evening, but more frustratingly the music from the breakfast room at 8am.

We had a very nice two nights in the Old Hall Hotel. The staff were very freindly and helpful and the food in the restaurant was excellent. There was a pleasing range of draught ales as well. The plumbing/toilet system is a bit noisy, but it is an old building, and we got used to it!

Checked in late Monday afternoon for a one night stay. Emily made us very welcome and showed us our room. After a walk to Castleton we returned and ate in the bar. Food was very enjoyable. Service was good. Met the owner later in the evening and had a drink with him. Very pleasant and a good night. Both slept well. Room was the right size for us and room for the dog's crate. The only issue we had was the shower, which was difficult to get at a reasonable temperature all of the time, as it fluctuated very, very hot and then cold. The unit was leaking and I would suspect needs replacing. However, would happily stay here again as we were made more than welcome. Thank-you all.

Lovely place, really nice room with everything you need. Shower is amazing! Staff were so friendly and made us feel very comfortable. The only let down really was the breakfast, the teacups smelt of fish and we found mould on the bread, not ideal obviously and totally put us off our food. I also noticed some staff not having the best hand hygiene when handling food and drinks. The little village was amazing and totally worth visiting as it has wonderful views.

I spent four great nights in this friendly, informal and engaging place. My room was simple but perfectly adequately appointed and comfortable: the quarterly chimes of the church opposite lulling me to sleep. The welcome when I arrived, and throughout my stay, was very warm and friendly. The food - at dinner and breakfast - was wholesome and appetising, and the service was excellent. The hotel's wifi didn't seem to reach my particular room, but I could afford to set up a mobile hotspot. Importantly for me, the hotel is within walking distance of the local railway station. All in all, I'd very happily stay at the Old Hall Hotel, if I'm in the Peaks again.

Lovely cosy old fashioned style over night stay . Room clean and I loved the decor throughout . The staff on arrival were so friendly and welcoming. The food was good value and tasty. The hotel are following safety measures with one way system, table service and hand cleaning stations. The only drawback was the table service meant that we waited to order drinks and up to 30 mins for the drink to arrive but it was busy so understandable.
