The onsen was wonderful and there’s a great relaxation room on the same floor. There are massage chairs, vending machines and a manga library there too. And laundry facilities and free popsicles. And a great view!!! Will definitely stay there again

Room is spacious, it's located a bit further from Kawaski JR station (like 7 mins walk) but it has everything you need around the corner - a 24/7 convenient store, supermarket and bunch of restaurants around. The only downside is during late night, there's seem to be some people standing on the street, next to the hotel entrance, asking if you want to get massage or get drinks at the bar. I guess it's still a safe area but you're a female solo traveler like me, you probably don't want to deal with those \"promoter\".

Also the onsen is relatively huge compare to other Dormy Inn. But I can tell this could be a popular place for local business traveler, as the resting areas and onsen on the top floor it's packed with locals even during weekday especially at 10pm-1am. Luckily the onsen opens till morning so I usually go there ard 2,3 am where you get to enjoy the onsen by yourself.

During my six-day stay, I received fresh towels every day, but the loungewear remained the same throughout. On the fourth day, I had to ask the front desk for a new set of loungewear. I chose the eco-friendly option without daily cleaning, but I would have liked the linens to be changed at least once during my six-day stay.

I’m so glad to be able to enjoy the hot spring bath in the city. The food is excellent, we were able to get good vegan food. We were able to store our luggage for several hours at the hotel after we checked out.

Loved the amenities!

This hotel was very close to several train stations which was perfect for the last bit of our trip. The amenities at this hotel were the best by far. The onsen was a wonderful experience (daily code for women) as well as the late night ramen. Overall, we would stay here again.

So nice! Feels serene and rural even though it’s steps from the cable car stop. The room was quite large and of course the main attraction was the private onsen out on the porch. Multi-course meals were lovely and I couldn’t get over the view from the dining room! I spent one night and I think 1-2 nights would be a perfect chance to unwind during your trip.

Love love the hot springs……Rooms are on the smaller side and definitely needs more hooks to hang stuff. They offer a complimentary drink which I think should be available 24hrs per day. They also offer Raman noodles at night which we really enjoyed. We stayed there for the hot springs and was definitely not disappointed.

Very nice onsen on top floor with fabulous black water. Break room after onsen had nice free treats.

Downside was no English-speaking television station

Coming from CA, US we visited Kyoto and back to Tokyo for 3 nights.We picked Dormy Inn in Kawasaki due to its proximity to Tokyo at good price and larger room. After arrival we found out that our money, driver's licence and keys were left inside the safe in Kyoto. So we rushed to Dormy Inn counter to make phone call, and decided to rush back to Kyoto to pick stuffs up. The front desk lady informed us the hotel we stayed in Kyoto, Onyado Nono Kyoto Shichijo, belongs to the same chain. So they can send the money to Dormy with no charge. Since we arrived at Dormy at Saturday evening she told us money could arrive on Tuesday, the day when we would leave. So to be safe we decided to extend our stay two more days, instead of visiting the west coast of Japan. Indeed our money and stuffs arrived on Tuesday, when heavy snow fell on the west coast. Many trains were delayed. So we did not miss anything, but spent two more days in Tokyo. Many thanks to Dormy and Onyado!!!!

We visited Tokyo by staying in Kawasaki nearby. The price and room size are much more reasonable. Train ride to Tokyo station is 4 stops for about 20'. We walked through a busting food street with all kinds of restaurants, grocery and bars. We tried several, and one is excellent just near by. They have several front desk speak good English. All of them are super polite and helpful. The room is not spacious as 220 sf, but enough for two with comfort. The bathroom and toilet are in excellent shape. We booked for 3 nights, and extended 2 more. It was a great stay

If you love a good Japanese breakfast, and I mean very good Japanese buffet, this is the place to fill your palate. It is by far the best breakfast buffet ever. I would go back just to enjoy the breakfast buffet again. Beds were comfortable. The station is nearby with plenty of shops. Their laundry facility had enough machines that didn’t feel stressed to secure an available washer or dryer for clean clothes. This hotel is well thought out with Onsen and late night ramen for guests. Very few westerners as guests and more were from other large Asian country, unfortunately some were rude without proper etiquette but did not detract from the wonderful Japanese experience. The staff didn’t speak English but were nice and very helpful. They do not reply to any email communication

We stayed at this hotel both the beginning and the end of our Japan trip. For the first part, we got a room on a higher with a nice view and was able to catch a sunrise. There were street noises though, but especially bad during the second part of our stay when we were on a lower floor. The latter room did not smell fresh and the wifi was so bad at this facility. However, we did enjoy the onsen and sauna facilities. The hotel staff was friendly and the breakfast was great!

Amazing stay!

The breakfast is \"da bomb\" according to my travel friend...and it sure was the crown jewel of this experience. I could post pics, but I want every person to have the same joy we had walking into the breakfast room. You really need to do it. We wonder if there's an option to just buy a package including breakfast & onsen...like a daypass. Our other friend opted out of breakfast, and we almost cried for him. Between bites of delicious food, that is. Seriously though, there were a lot of Asians there for some reason, and everyone was ON TOP OF IT for every food opportunity. I swear, free shoyu ramen started at 930 and by the time we got down there at 934 it was packed. You don't wait long however, as the ramen barista is superfast. I'm pretty convinced we need to make this our last stop if we ever visit Japan again. EVERY person was so well-trained and professional--they were very well-staffed here and our experience was absolutely 5 star. This place is so underrrated I really want to keep it a secret. Please keep doing what you're doing Dormy Inn Kawasaki, you guys are doing amazing job from the front desk staff to the ramen server, from the room operator (always picked up within 3 rings) to the breakfast team (despite the volume of people and the variety of food, nothing ever was short each time I went up....and I went up several times), beef griller, omelette cook, ramen barista #2 (yes we had ramen again, a different one!) ....and yes laundry machines with the detergent.

There is a foriegn currency exchange ATM in the loddy, the staff members are top notch customer representatives. The train station is within walking distance and cost 320 Yens (as at Oct 2024). Great place to stay.

Ok place, but a bit dated with dark carpets, hard pillows, very small shower, and dirty windows. It hits the mark as a basic, budget hotel, so the price was on par, but unless you had direct business in the area or needed to stay in Kawasaki and didn't have any other choice, I'd look for something else. Can't comment on the Onsen as I have tattoos and they are not allowed.

Loved this Dormy Inn. The ofuro bath was large, with indoor and outdoor options. The breakfast buffet was excellent with a wide variety of Japanese and Western options. There were free drinks on arrival and free ice cream or yakult after baths. Beds were comfortable although pillow were a bit hard.

Only one older person before we were able to get into room who helped us with Wi-Fi. Had a hard time finding my reservation despite handing them copy of my Hotels.com copy. And I mentioned free breakfast, also included in my copy, and was told no. After dickering and checking he finally agreed it was included. Had to be own bag person to room. Also, requested more pillows since only one small pillow n room, which I had to pick up at registration & lug up myself. My paid upgraded room was very small and one side of bed was only inches from wall making it difficult for one of us to get out and around bed.
Onsen was okay only and buffet breakfast was satisfactory.

A great motel, I had a room to myself so was able to have plenty of room it would have been a little cramped if there was two people on the room. I took my own pillow as I had read that the pillows were small and hard, very glad I did as this was true. Very friendly staff and patient when needing to use google translate. Free drinks, ice creams and noodles was very handy. A 7/11 right downstairs, plenty of restaurants close and a short walk to the train station. I’d stay again. I didn’t use the onset but I heard it was lovely.

The location hotel is an economical option outside of Tokyo when traveling to Japan. Very close to Tokyo, Henada airport, and Yokohoma another big city that should be visited. Conveniently located with close walking distance to subway stations and airport shuttles. However, dining around the area is not as diversified compared to other cities.

I found it to be a decent budget-friendly option for a short stay. One of the standout features of this hotel is its reasonable pricing, making it an acceptable choice for those on a budget.

However, there were a couple of aspects that caught my attention. The bedside table and wardrobe in the room were quite compact, making it a challenge for two persons to comfortably utilize these spaces. It felt a bit cramped, especially for a more extended stay where ample storage and surface area become essential.

Another point worth noting is the additional charge for room cleaning. While some hotels offer this service as part of the package, which may come as a surprise to guests expecting standard housekeeping services included in the room rate.

This place used to be immaculately clean, hopefully they can trained their staff or hire a new team of cleaners the dust on the dashboard and the bathroom commode have dried pee all over and you you tell there not as Terrell as it used to be, this was our to go hotel for years and years however we are disappointed how the property was dirty.
