Lovely stay!

Such a gorgeous hotel! I loved my stay - it was perfect. Lovely staff, gorgeous outdoor areas, and really just a peaceful place. I spent lots of time on the terrace enjoying the sun and the location is perfect, quaint and cute and a bit calmer than Avignon! I will definitely be back.

We recently stayed with my family and had a wonderful stay!! The rooms are comfortable and have a great charm to them. The staff and owner were just amazing! Always asking how our stay is going and offering to provide suggestions on where to go for wine tasting and what to see. I highly recommend staying at this hotel!

Watch the parking!!

There is 1 space in a busy town to park while you unload, this was full. We were told to park in a square a few minutes walk away (I never knew it was a market place,) 2 days later there was a market and my car got towed! €130 later and 2 hours I got my car back. Do not trust the staff when they say you can park there.
Room was small. Bathroom handle was dropping off. There was no hot option at breakfast, only boiled eggs if you make them yourself.
Positives
Cakes were left out first day for all to help themselves. It’s a great position if you’re careful where you park and don’t listen to the staff!

What a wonderful stay! The decor is tastefully curated, with charming outdoors areas. There is no restaurant on site, but plenty of great options within 1-5 min walk. The staff is friendly and helpful. We had such a great time we decided to extend our stay by another night. Definitely better than some boutique hotels we've stopped at.

Very charming hotel in the old part of Villeneuve-les-Avignon. Great location to walk to local sights and dining, and easy public transport to Avignon over the river.
The rooms were perfectly decorated for the style and location of the hotel, and we enjoyed our stay immensely.
The manager of the hotel was extremely helpful and we were able to get parking nearby easily.

Fantastic small hotel in Villeneuve-les-Avignon! Like staying in a family home in old France. Beautifully furnished, a wonderful Salon, outdoor walled garden and a delicious breakfast with fresh pastries every morning. Hotel staff is gracious, friendly and extremely helpful. Hotel is located within a five minute walk to cafes, a bakery and market. A bus stop nearby for Avignon proper is convenient with frequent service. Probably the best hotel stay we have ever experienced! Intend to return often!

This hotel is an oasis from the noise and bustle of the city. It is in an old structure made livable and home-like. The staff are wonderfully helpful and friendly. The surrounding neighborhood is filled with fabulous restaurants and the Thursday morning market is every good thing you’ve ever read about the markets in Provence.

The manager gave several fantastic suggestions for sites to see, and a library of tourist reference material is available. The breakfast was superb and nutritious.

We stayed only one night but would come back to stay longer! Such a beautiful and quaint hotel that is very cozy and picturesque. The front desk was very nice and accommodating. Fresh pastries and teas on the main floor were a wonderful touch. Beautiful courtyard. Rooms were clean and comfortable. You will be hauling your luggage up stairs to get to your rooms, so I was glad I only had a carry-on sized bag.

I loved how this property was adjacent to the busy, central part of town, with so many cute restaurants and shops within walking distance. An easy cab ride to town.

We got a little bit larger family room with an extra bed this time and enjoyed a little more space. Our last room for two was pretty tiny. This hotel was the highlight of our Provence trip. The owner and the staff couldn’t have been more attentive. They are generous on their servings. The location of the hotel is perfec for both local and for day trips. There’s a map on the wall with recommend place for those like us who do road trips. We stayed 3 nights and wanted to stay longer. We felt part of the family! The breakfast served is extra but economic and overflowing and a delicious way to start the day. Cookies and tea in the lobby at all times. They sell the best jams too. A true oasis in the middle of a hectic city. Walking distance to St André gardens. We were so lucky to find heaven on Avignon!

A gem in a sweet town next to Avignon

Charming hotel! We had a deluxe room category that was spacious. Very clean and comfortable and well appointed, with lovely personal touches. Shower was great....good pressure and plenty of hot water. This was a great find. Down the street from several restaurants and plazas in Villaneuve. On Thursdays and Saturdays there is a large, busy, wonderful public market down the street. The town is about a 40 minute walk from Avignon. Can find plenty of parking in Avignon at the garage at the main square though. Maylis at the front desk was wonderful! Very helpful and welcoming. I would definitely recommend this hotel.

Staying at this authentic 16th century hotel was such a treat. We only stayed two nights, but loved every moment of it. Being surrounded by antiques, stone walls, rooftop terrace, outdoor patio gave this hotel such character. It felt like we stepped back in time, except with all the modern conveniences.
The room was so comfortable, clean and welcoming. The morning breakfast they provide is not to be missed, they even provide complimentary tea, coffee and cookies in the sitting room.
The staff were amazing, so helpful and kind. Including Ratatouille, the house cat. we would definitely recommend this hotel and was a highlight of our vacation.

A really charming place - an old house with lots of cute nooks and two beautiful courtyards - on a quiet square in a village just over the river from Avignon (a 20-minute bus ride or a 10-minute drive). The owner/manager is perhaps the most wonderful person in the service industry we've ever met: always ready to help, always kind and smiling, and always going that extra little bit that makes you feel really well taken care of (from nice cookies in the living room, and homemade jams at breakfast - interesting flavors: lemon, nectarine - to excellent tips on logistics. Our room was very large and the bed was super-comfortable. We were really happy here.

The gentleman who I guess is the host, is very friendly, helpful and thoughtful. He gave lots of advice and always smile and polite.
The hotel associates with a car park but he told us to park in the tourist centre which is free and only few minutes away. We have a car so it is only about 10 mins drive to the Avignon city centre, so very convenient. The hotel itself is a lovely building with big rooms and air-con! Therefore it is very good price compared to the average small-sized room in France. The garden is so nice to have a breakfast in. Overall, I highly recommend this comfortable hotel.

The hotel owner greeted us at the door and carried our baggage to our rooms. He was personable, friendly and very accommodating. The building was historic, which was what I was looking for and the facility was well decorated. Free coffee, tea and cookies were always available. There were some lovely extras to the hotel-a small bar, local products were available for purchase and other areas to sit and read the books for guests. The garden and roof top terrace added a nice touch.

Quaint Hotel in the Old Town - 16th century very charming with nicely renovated bathrooms. The soaps they offer in the bathroom are just divine- you can buy some of that brand of soaps in the hotel. Backyard garden just lovely to have breakfast in! We had one of the cheap rooms and would suggest to higrade to a better room if possible as the room looked more like a mansard than a real hotel room- nevertheless the bathroom was nice and renovated and the room spacey. Not for the mobility challenged- lots of stairs to climb if you are not on the main level.The location is A1 and right next to several restaurants. Parking is in a municipal park for free, not far from the Hotel or you get a private park space from the hotel for 9E. What is outstanding at this Hotel is the reception, the service and the Breakfast. Best breakfast we had while staying in France no doubt! Owner is very attentive and helpful with anything you might request. First class service! If you go to Avignon don't pass this one -it is a great stay.

Hotel stuffs are so friendly and helpful.
They are not pushing at all to give us good impression, but they are proud of their hotel and service.
We are so comfortable to sit and have coffee in small garden and cozy lobby.
We can feel the history of hotel ( build in 15th century ) but, inside room was very comfortable with
modern bath . All of my family ( with my daughter and her husband ) was so happy to stay in this hotel
for 2 days. if possible in future, we would like to stay at leaf for 4 full days.

The hotel staff was very kind and helpful. As we were checking in our bags were already brought to our room. The room was nicely appointed and clean. We also appreciated the 24 hour tea service and the wonderful petite déjeuner that was offered in the beautiful atrium courtyard. The owner is extremely friendly and provides the best he can, the rooms are large enough and very clean. The facilities are very quiet. I found this hotel on Expedia and was seduced by the photos of the back courtyard, a delightful place to enjoy a glass of wine in the evening. Reviews also praised the friendly and very helpful staff. I was not at all disappointed. When I had checked in, I was given a tour of the public areas and then Stephane (?) carried my large bag up to my third-floor room. (In other small hotels, I had often struggled to do it myself since many of the old buildings do not have a lift.) The interior is a combination of historic old building and modern, bright touches. I found it comfortable and attractive. I stayed for three nights and wish I could have stayed longer. There are good restaurants in Villeneuve and the #5 bus runs frequently between Villeneuve and Avignon. I chose to walk rather than take the bus to explore along the way.

Just outside Avignon old town but it's in a small beautiful village with nice restaurants nearby. We had taken different ways going to town like on foot it's a nice walk around 30 min. It took 15 min & 10 min by velo & by bus respectively. Hotel staffs were very nice.

Definitely one of the best b&bs ive had the pleasure of staying at. It was cozy, well kept, an extremely beautiful old building. It had a lovely courtyard where we ate our meals. The best part was definitely the service provided. The receptionists and the owner were very friendly, welcoming and helpful with providing tips. They also had a great selection of teas at our disposal.we sipped teas every night while sitting around the lounge, talking to other travellers. It was definitely a great way to end our nights.

We absolutely loved this charming hotel and will go back. Villeneuve-les-Avignon is a lovely neighbourhood which we much preferred to Avignon itself (although Avignon is within walking distance). Is not near central sights of main Avignon town and I do not recommend you walk there with your cases - but Villenueve was relaxing and charming spot with its own sights to see and you get great view back to main Avignon with Popes palace. A beautiful hotel in a quiet, picturesque setting

The online reviews swayed us to stay in this beautiful hotel. Initially we were a little reluctant because it is over the river from the main town of Avignon. We were only staying for one night before continuing our journey to Antibes and we didn't want too much hassle the following morning to get to the train station. It is a short walk to the bus stop and the local bus takes less than 10 mins to take you into the centre of Avignon.

We were not disappointed at all and after an evening meal in the centre of Avignon we knew we'd made the right choice as we were grateful of the peace and quiet the hotel afforded us. The next morning breakfast was taken on the terrace which was stunning and there was lots of choice.

Unfortunately we didn't catch the name of the young woman on the reception desk but she was incredibly welcoming and helpful.

We wouldn't hesitate to recommend this hotel and would certainly stay again if we find ourselves in the area.

Our own town

Nice to be in Villeneuve just a short transit ride from busy Avignon. Small town plaza, good restaurant recommended by our host.. Our hosts were exceptionally friendly andpersonal in their service. Lovely courtyard for relaxing and good breakfast.

Picture perfect Provence

Efficient and friendly check in with owner ( who speaks very good English), room clean , hotel close to bus into Avignon. Lovely , well maintained property, lovingly cared for, mainly amenities, lovely gardens. Secure parking and free parking available.

You Want to Come Here

First of all we screwed up our dates. Not only did they not charge us but took care of us for a good price two nights later when we finally showed up!

Best place we stayed in nearly a month of travel through three countries!

Nice boutique hotel

Excellent service. Breakfast is served from 7 am to whenever you like for a very reasonable price. Nice and safe neighborhood with lots of restaurants within walking distance. They offer safe parking for a fee. The location is very convenient. Bus stop to Avignon is a block away and only a 10 minute ride. Overall the location and the hotel is excellent.

Fantastic and a quaint village

Authentic 1625 building, with small and comfortable hotel. Friendly staff. If you want to stay in an authentic old village, this is great. Beautiful little village, full of old stone buildings. Walk 2 minutes to a great restaurant in the market square - Aubergines - great food. Enjoyed this hotel and village enormously.

Avignon across the river

Wonderful atmosphere, extremely helpful staff, very welcoming and warm hotel. Located across the river Rhone in pleasant village setting, 4 minute number 5 bus into tourist centre of Avignon old town. We had a car and parking was within 100 metres and free, we noted they had a garage lockup for cyclists to leave their bikes so ideal for that type of traveller.

We loved this hotel and will go back!

If you're thinking it's only a 2 star, well, think again. This hotel is a gem and we were so glad to have stayed in Avignon Villeneuve. This hotel is the best of France; both historical and quaint/charming. Clean, comfortable and close to public transportation.

Superb!

I read all the excellent reviews before booking De l'Atelier and wasn't disappointed. The owners and staff are very friendly and extremely helpful. I would definitely recommend the hotel to anyone. The rooms were very comfortable and the building has so much character. Easily within walking distance of Avignon and there are also regular buses if you are not a walker. I would certainly stay there again.
