The room I was given was big and had a tiny balcony with a side ocean view even though the room category I booked was with no windows. The food on the buffet for breakfast and dinner was very good with different four options each day. The hotel beach had no shade just limited umbrellas and the swimming area was quite rocky with lots of pebbles and small rocks. The incline to get in and out of the water was steep. However just around the corner was a much better beach with lots of shade and all sand with an easy incline to get in and out. The lounge chairs are free to use if you order drinks or food from the team running the section.
From here it is an easy walk out to the sand bar in front of the hotel.
The restaurant staff were all friendly and courteous however the front desk staff and excursion staff seemed disorganized.
The hotel sent a golf cart to pick us up from the ferry dock which was an unexpected surprise as they told us that we would have to walk the 5-8 minute distance with our luggage over the sandy streets ourselves. So there was a definite lack of communication on the hotels part.
We also had no idea that the hotel is actually 4 different buildings with separate amenities in each building. There are 2 pools and 2 à la carte restaurants and one buffet restaurant spread out over the 4 buildings. Only one beach area for the hotel though.

Arena Beach Hotel

Check in process was very slow and we hadcto wait in reception for a long time. Rooms were small but okay for a short stay.
Staff were freiendly and attentive.
There are alot of crows around the hotel, which is a problem during meal times and being woken up by them early in the morning.
Food was good, with a good variety.
However here are cats roaming around during meal times,whilst you are eating.

There is only one elevator, so the wait times were long at times.

I know it’s no luxury hotel but the condition is below my expectation. Room condition is not great, air conditioner is leaking water, balcony door won’t shut properly and can hear music downstairs until late. floor is always sandy, room is tiny. Staff are overall friendly.

Very nice facility, beautiful beach, room was nice & spacious except our room was on the second floor faced the ocean & restaurants so at night was really noisy. Breakfast buffet was ok. Excursions by the hotel was too commercialized not real - mediocre snorkeling with nurse sharks and with turtles. At one of the reefs the open water-the currents were rough & corals all died out. They did not provided full snorkeling gear, no fin if you have live vests. The night fishing was fun, but they didn’t cook one of the big fish we caught for our dinner - BUMMERS!!!!

It's amusing how they try to learn different languages and are fantastic at engaging with tourists in their own languages. I met many wonderful people during my visit. Hasim, in particular, was incredibly helpful and gave me great advice on what to visit and where to eat.

The 1st 3 days of our vacation we could not enjoyed much as it was raining on & off , but however we enjoyed the stay in our room as our room was facing the sea and we have best view from our room . The room was well lighted, clean and bathroom too.

The last 2 days of our stay , the weather was good, we enjoyed walking along the beach and swim in the sea,

The staff - front staff and housekeeping are friendly and courteous.

Buffet breakfast and dinner are tasty and there should be more varieties.

The spirals steps from the 10th floor up to my room on the rooftop (either 11th or 12th floor) should have markers so that guest are aware of the steps as they really steep.

We arrived to Maafushi at 11pm and had to wait 40minutes for our room to be prepared. We then requested for a late check out as our boat wasn't until the afternoon but this wasn't accepted. We found it strange that they asked guests to check out at noon but our room wasn’t ready at 11pm.

We arrive to our room to find out that our hotel has another hotel being constructed next to it (literally arms distance between the 2 walls). Nowhere was it mentioned on the website that there is ongoing construction. Of course noises of drilling and hammering started every day at 7am and continued throughout the day making it very difficult to get good sleep.

Wifi was poor and very slow.

Phone in the room did not dial so any queries we had to physically go down and ask.

Infinity rooftop swimming pool was a very small area. Nice view but water was freezing cold.

Staff were very friendly and courteous.

- [ ] Staff thought it was funny and mocked us as we walked past the second hotel
- [ ] Watch your final bill for add ons. They tried to sneak in $50 usd/ticket gala dinner tickets without telling us that it was a paid dinner. We didn’t go to the dinner and they still put it on our bill.
- [ ] They added two speedboat tickets without us asking even though we booked it at a kiosk down the road
- [ ] Paying was a hassle as they don’t have a working card machine in the hotel
- [ ] They left with our passports without an explanation and we had to insist to get them back
- [ ] After being on the beach for about an hour, we were asked to leave and go to the pool

Transport to the hotel was aggravating. I confirmed with the hotel and received confirmation of transit and who to meet. A few days before arrival they reached out stating I need to confirm arrival as well which I did again. They actually swabbed the greeting person without informing me which when traveling alone I don’t appreciate. I was told to wait in the waiting area and he would get me for the transfer, which he never did. When I approached the greeter with the hotel sign (different staff member) to see when the boat would arrive I was taken to a lead who then accused me of missing the boat and wanted to know why I did not ask him earlier.

Beyond the arrival issues the staff are really nice and helpful. They hotel was clean, but my room seemed like it could use some maintenance.

Had noise issues from midnight to 4am which the night crew couldn’t seem to handle. It was frustrating when calling them trying to explain and to see what they could/couldn’t do. I gave up on after 2 calls.

I booked the hotel for our honeymoon. There were good things and bad things about the place.
The good: Some staff are friendly and helpful. The housekeeping gentleman was good. Room itself is pretty good. Decent amenities. The activities team are great. All professional and pleasant.
The bad: 1. Have to start with the concierge guy called Adriano. Extremely pushy & inconsiderate. He was almost wanting to snatch my credit card and swipe before answering any of our questions. He also got us to pay for a final day kayaking when it was fairly evident that the president would be visiting that day and that all those activities would be cancelled. We were so looking forward to kayaking as it was the penultimate day of our honeymoon and it could've been a memorable thing we did together. Another concierge lady (don't know her name) was extremely rude & even told us to approach the watersports just the previous day.I have no idea how she works in the hospitality industry. If they were honest & upfront we could've atleast planned it differently. incredibly disappointing how he was quick to take our money but then kept making excuses of being busy when we spoke about the refund. 2. Flies: Eating breakfast & lunch is a challenge due to army of flies. The fly fan is useless. Need for indoor dining options 3. Water. you get 2 bottles and then pay 1usd fro a small bottle. Tip: Go to the store nearby(landpro) & get a 5 lt bottle for 1 usd.

I really loved this hotel. I recommend getting an ocean view room. Its totally worth it. The rooms were really nice and clean and looked fairly new. They seemed bigger in the pictures though so pay attention to square footage and pick your room properly. The customer service was awesome, especially Brij. He literally never stops smiling! He was so fun to be around! The rest of the staff was really friendly as well. And, yes, the food was really delicious. I would definitely stay again.

Great place to stay. The staff are very friendly and cater to any of your needs. They have great live music every night. The private beach is wonderful which is great for swimming, snorkeling and lounging. The rooftop pool offers great views of the ocean. Breakfast every morning starts at 7am and is a great spread. Their dinner buffet has a great spread too! They offer great snorkeling options and also options to visit other resorts for a day. Their pick up and drop off from/to airport is on time and affordable. All in all, an extremely well run hotel which allows you to fully unwind and enjoy the island. Also, it is situated well to explore the rest of the island easily.

The people are amazing and kind, we like everything but the room as it’s small, no windows, not super clean, there was random small hairs on the sheets and a stain, the bathroom had used lotions and body wash in it. I also have a bad leg(medical issue) which tends to swell so I asked for pillows and ice , they didn’t seem to have 4 extra pillows and couldn’t give me a bucket of ice so I attempted with a glass and just had to stay off of my legs the remainder of the day/night because I was unable to fix it

It is right on the Bikini beach and at the busier part of the island. Next property is under construction, lots of noise and dust. The clientele of this hotel are loud and insensitive to others sleep after dark or early morning at 3 to 6 Am. There is always a low frequency but low noise from the building.... sleep was poor throughout our 5 nights stay. The staff are wonderful and very helpful. Hotel management will be wise to put up signs to remind clients to keep their talking in low volume or not to FaceTime family at 4 Am in the balcony for over 30 minutes. I won’t return or recommend this hotel until they start to address this problem.

our trip on Maafushi & Arena beach hotel.

We stayed for 3 nights in Arena Beach Hotel in mid-Nov 2018. We were assigned a room in a new building. Furniture and fittings were all new. Wifi worked well and there were 4 USB sockets for charging electronic devices. The hotel has a private beach. Wave condition was OK for swimming but the sea floor is paved with broken coral chips and has a lot of submerged rocks covered with shells. Walking and wading in water is a dangerous activity as the sole can get cuts.
The hotel offered fishing & snorkeling for guests. We joined a sunset fishing program. We caught several fish and brought them back to hotel for dinner.
Hotel staff are friendly and helpful. Our flight left Male at 10:45 pm. We were allowed late checkout until 3 pm.
Maafushi is a small island. There are not much things one can do there. The hotel has a restaurant and there some small restaurants nearby providing snacks and pizza. Prices are reasonable.

The penthouses we booked were different from the photos online because those were in another building w no lift. Ours were in the new building w lift so we didn't change. The hitel was veey accommodating. Food during buffet were always different. Nearby restaurants and shops were handy. Very goid beach and location for watersports and you can book excursions with other agencies apart from the hotel.

Had a pleasant stay at hotel. Chose this hotel for its ability to be reached by boat and not too far from airport. Staff was helpful and always pleasant. Appreciate the accommodation for my late check out on departure as I wasn't feeling well. Hotel is on small local island located on the beach. Surrounding area was under construction but wasn't bothersome at this stage of construction. Island has a few small grocery stores cafes and
restaurants. Only found one decent place to eat at during stay. Quiet calm and relaxing for the most parts. Minor ant issues in room even on higher floor but not too terrible. Bed was comfortable and bathroom had nice shower. Non sea view room had nice view if up on higher floor. Only problem i had during trip was the day visit to Olhuveli Beach & Spa which was sold through hotel during my stay. I would not recommend it. Price was different from what i thought i was to pay, they don't accept local currency, and the included food and drinks alcoholic or otherwise are only included in your package during lunch. They also force all visitors to sit in same section at lunch away from hotel guests. I wouldn't return. However the spa was nice and relaxing.

The hotel staff are nice, food is good and it is right in front of the bikini beach. We arrived at Male on Saturday evening, and decided to take public ferry from Male the next morning at 10am. (public ferry available at 10am and 3pm on Sunday). When we arrived Maafushi ferry pier at 11:30am the hotel staff are already to pick us up. Various excursions provided by the hotel. Most tourists who stayed here are from Asia. The only thing we don't like is the construction work next to the hotel. Noisy and they work till late in the evening sometimes. Oh, don't forget to get yourself some mosquitoe repellant, i am very attracted to mosquitoes and I got quite some kisses from them... . Strongly recommended to get a seaview room with balcony. There are few sun-bathing benches and umbrella in the beach, so sometimes we prefer to sunbathing or do some reading in the balcony instead, where you can enjoy a better view of the sea. Overall, we enjoyed our stay very much.

I pay reasonable price for world-class service.

They arranged someone at the airport jetty to fetch us to the hotel. They welcomed us with mini wet towel and fresh guava juice when we arrived. They offered us activities with reasonable price and we booked from them. They delivered us the best service ever. Snorkelling with their team feel safe, fun, and we enjoyed so much with them during our 4 days stay in Maafushi. We would even get free photos taken by them during snorkelling. In a nutshell, they are all very friendly, i can get along with them just like family. They made us feel like home. Wonderful, just too beautiful here in Maafushi Maldives. Picturesque view, beautiful hearts, pretty moments :') I missed them all already.

We booked this hotel for 5 nights and couldn’t be happier with our stay.
Book an ocean view room, waking up to the sight and sound of the waves is blissful. They also face north so you don’t get direct sunlight heating up the balcony, which mean you can use it all day.
The room is comfortable and so is the bed, though the pillows are a little hard for my taste.
The shower is lovely. Bring your own shampoo and conditioner etc...their products are a little harsh but More importantly keep your plastic waste to a minimum by packing in and out. Recycling is in its infancy or non existent on these tiny islands, garbage appears to be mostly burned. Not pleasant.
check in was easy. We didn’t ask for anyone to meet us but there they were, at the dock when the public ferry rolled in. They took our luggage, put it on a trolley and walked us to the hotel (about 3 blocks a 5-10 minute walk). We were met at the desk with cool towels and a glass of juice. So refreshing!
Meals were good value - they do curry wonderfully well so have that. It’s awesome eating outside on the sand under the palm trees.
They make an effort to have entertainment most nights which we really appreciated since there’s not that much to do after diving and snorkeling hours are over.
Speaking of snorkeling, take one of the snorkeling trips, the fish are unreal and the guides are super nice. They include photos for free! The bikini beach in front of the hotel is great - bring aqua socks, read up on stingray

Great island stay in a local island!!

The whole stay there was just amazing! All the staff were so nice and the location of the hotel is perfect! The island is good for family with small children as well. The kayak rental is free for the hotel guests ;)

Unsatisfactory stay at Grand Deluxe Penthouse

I have made this reservation on the Grand Deluxe Penthouse, in high anticipation of a relaxing \"vacation\" stay with a large balcony looking out to the sea.

The overall experience is a great letdown. There is construction work which is just next to the hotel and being in a Islamic country, we cannot be wearing scantily and sitting by the balcony while the construction workers are just working less than 5 meters away in distance.

The Hotel staff proudly claims that its Grand Deluxe Penthouse has \"private\" access but there are pairs of eyes watching you when you are on the balcony.

There is no lift access to this Penthouse on level 4.

This Penthouse is not on card access but key.

The Air-conditioner compressors are just next to the door and that makes the balcony area hot.

Being on the top of the roof, the hot afternoon sun is heating up the room even with the Air-conditioner on, and the tap water is hot as the water tank is also being heated up.

The room decor and overall cleanliness are worse than its lower room category \"Ocean-View\" room which I had stayed.

We couldn't stay any longer and requested to downgrade to Sea-view room without refund.

The sea-view room is slightly better than the Grand Deluxe Penthouse but still loses out to the its Ocean View room - the balcony access is directly above the Barbeque area where the cafe serves buffet dinner every evening. So, your laundry gets the BBQ smell too.

Unsatisfactory stay at Penthouse :-(

Clean room. Good Service

Among the 3 room types in this hotel, this is the best in my view.

The ocean view room gets the morning sun, with windows in the bathroom which regulates air circulation (in the bathroom) and has natural daylight.

Its room size is good for 2 persons and the bed is comfortable (with 2 single size combined together that feels like a king-size bed).

There is a lift in this building (where the ocean-view rooms are).

Please see my next review on the other 2 room types as I have made separate booking on different room types for this trip.

This was our first visit to Maldives. The experience was really something else. Hotel was very clean and staff very polite. The location on the beachfront makes it ideal.

Perfect location

Clean and tidy hotel. Best spot on Maafushi with private bikini beach right in front. Very nice setting for the restaurant on the beach. Staff were very helpful and changed our room without trouble when there was an issue with the first one. The beach could use better sun chairs and more shade for the customers.

Clean and new hotel. Live bands at night. BBQ/buffet dinner. Water sports and resort visits arranged by hotel. Private beach. Simply it offers everything you need.

BEST ACCOMMODATION in Maafushi

This is the biggest hotel in maafushi, They provide great service to every customer, you can stay here with cheap price but high quality service&nice room. Room is very clean and their staff also friendly, try to fullfill our requirement. Once u reach there, they have a lot of fun package to customer, such as snorkeling, watch dolphin, night fishing, etc.

HIGHLY recommend everyone to choose this hotel!

Seaview for cacthing sun rise

Staff are friendly. Seaview room has faNtastic view though balcony is very small. Room not big but comfort. They serve Mas Huni for breakfast. Pizza resto in the back side of hotel.

The best hotel in Maafushi!

This is the only hotel in Maafushi having a private access beach.
Staff were just amazing- ask for Moussa, Jamal or rafiu - they will take care of everything.
Breakfest is just okay - Dinner buffet is awesome though.

Nice hotel on the beach. Definitely best location

Please take water shoes or your feet will be cut for sure. The beach is full of brown corals for the first 10 feet at least. The hotel is good and clean. But we stayed in new building. Breakfast buffet was good

Great and friendly service

Very comfortable stay and delicious reasonably priced dinners ($10 for a buffet!). Breakfast was mediocre and nothing to write home about. The staff were friendly and super helpful the entire stay. Highly recommended place to stay when visiting Maafushi

nice hotel with beach in close proximity. rooms are neat and tidy with wuite model facility. organizes excursion trips for fishing, snorkeling etc. however, construction going on all around and quite noisy in the day.

Ótima localização em frente a bikini Beach de Maafushi!

Equipe muito simpática e solícita. Fui muito bem assessorado pela Yulia, que atendeu minhas solicitações durante a estadia.

Na reserva de excursões, o Adriano montou o roteiro e ainda deu desconto ao reservar mais de um passeio. Ficou mais barato do que as outras empresas de turismo. Falem com ele assim que chegar ao hotel! Os passeios na sua maioria tem refeição, fotos e vídeos incluídos. Sem surpresas ou outras taxas, muito bom!!

Vários restaurantes e lojas de souvenir ao redor.

Experiência maravilhosa!!! Espero voltar em breve.

La struttura è notevole, tuttavia mi volevano far ripagare una notte persa a causa della cancellazione volo qatar...sul check out troppa rigidità e ci sono molti lavori in corso, si deve essere fortunati con la stanza altrimenti i rumori...le vista città hanno balconi attaccati ai dirimpettai,le piscine e la spiaggia sono bellissime
