Had to wait for someone to come to the desk and then she forgot to give us a key. I am allergic to feathers and she brought ida new comforter and pillow but it was actually a dirty matresss cover. Was so gross. We just slept under the duvet cover. Hair in the shower. Not impressed at all.

Driving into the hotel was quite dark and the main entrance was not lit up. Parking was difficult to find and no signs for disabled parking visible. The room on entry had a bad odour.
However the dinner was lovely and staff friendly., but srroundings were very dull in the restaurant.
The hotel itself lacked any atmosphere.

Reception staff need to be more helpful when we checked in no information of where our room was. We had to ask no warm welcome. Not great a great first impression. We were just handed a sheet of paper with information.
Spa is dirty. needs a good clean. Again, reception staff not helpful chatting we signed in and then asked where we had to go.
Room was lovely, very clean. although walking along main corridors, there were lots of bottles glasses ECT from previous guests left along the windowsills for a long period of time not cleared up until following morning!
Housekeeping staff very noisy in the mornings and woke us up, even though we had signs on our doors, asking not to be disturbed.
Restaurant, managers, warm and welcoming.
Our waiter Craig was outstanding. He’s service and attention to detail was excellent on Valentines evening, our meal was superb.
Sunday morning breakfast was absolutely horrendous not enough staff no cups, glasses, plates, bowls. There was literally no food.
complete an utter chaos! We had to try and find a table and wait at least 40 minutes with one man trying to do everything!

The room was not ready until late (about an hour too late!) and no apology or goodwill gesture was offered while we waited, not even a coffee! When booking, I requested an accessible room or one close to the bar and restaurant for my mother due to mobility issues. Instead, the room was around a 10 minute walk from reception for someone with reduced mobility, including several doors, which was unsuitable. Reception said no closer rooms were available, so I suggested swapping rooms with my mother once ours would be ready, to give her our larger family room nearer the amenities (which cost a lot more for 3 of us!).

Due to the late room availability, we also missed the spa before joining our party, our relatives checked in 1.5 hours before us! Given this and our willingness to accommodate by swapping rooms, I would have expected some acknowledgment of the inconvenience.

Bar service was poor, with staff appearing moody and abrupt. I felt uncomfortable asking the price of a brownie, an agency worker was spoken to abruptly when checking the price of something with a colleague, and a spoon was slammed onto my plate. We were polite guests, not making unreasonable requests.

Our young daughter found sweets on the floor in our bedroom!

The pool was cold and a member complained and left. Even the poolside area was extremely cold, I had a sauna and left.

I won’t go into detail on the poorly cooked breakfast buffet, it was a mess!

Very disappointed as we spent a lot of money.

Ideal stay for Winchester or just a relaxing trip. The hotel is quite spread out so if disabled or can’t walk far I suggest asking for a room close to reception.
Maintenance staff were fantastic. Cleaning staff great. Bar staff friendly.
Highly recommend. Definitely going back.

Waited 45 minutes for an afternoon tea that was pre booked- had to chase up 3 times. No communication or care from the staff. Also had to wait similar time for dinner- it was chaotic with no apparent system. Lots of untrained new staff by the looks of it. Food was actually nice when it came but it was stressful getting it. However maintenance guy was extremely efficient attending our room and resolving an issue for us. Think this should be a 3 star hotel.

We have stayed here many times before and always enjoyed our stay. However this time when we checked in there was a power cut and we were informed that they were hoping for it to be restored at any time. 2hrs later still no power and no lights or running water in the rooms. Reception staff offered us a refund and to be sent to another hotel but we refused as the hotel suggested was a half hour drive in rush hour traffic and they couldn’t guarantee a room for us. So we stayed as my partner had chosen this hotel for the amenities even though we were unable to use them. Another couple who did decide to leave told us that power cuts have happened before at this hotel . Thankfully the bar staff let us know that the power was back on around 8:30 pm,so we could at least shower before bed. The room was nice but very stuffy even though we opened the windows we struggled to sleep both nights. Food was tasty but lukewarm.

We had an okay stay, the hotel had basic amenities that you’d need and the pool was fairly good. The rooms and bathrooms were quite outdated but the main issue is the walls must be paper thin - you could hear everything from the rooms next door, and we were unfortunate enough to have neighbours playing music beyond 11pm. However at 11pm, about to try to sleep, used the toilet and the flusher broke so we had to move rooms. Not a great experience overall.

We had a lovely weekend break.
The room was clean and comfortable.
The pool area was great with a large steam room,sauna and good changing areas.
Breakfast was very nice with a good variety and items you could order.
The only issue we had was access to the ev chargers.
The hotel did not know the cost of using the chargers, and from the app they did not seem to work.

I didn't like being given a room with an accessible bathroom as it becomes a pool after a shower. The food in the bar was very poor - I didn't know you could make a cheeseburger so tasteless. The coleslaw was just mayo, cabbage and carrot, also tasteless. Chips were good.

My bathroom was dirty, shower door was a nightmare to open, shower head clasp didn’t work meaning trying to shower and rinse my hair was an issue. No air con and was not advised in this prior to check in. Pool area dirty and pool is packed with kids until 6pm so not ideal. It’s just an unpleasant environment generally not a relaxing spa!

In the bar I Waited 45 mins for a sandwich and they were not busy!
In the evening the Restaurant was so hot it was impossible to say too long so we ate just a main meal.
At 10pm I went to reception to discuss my room’s issues. When I spoke to a male member of staff about my bathroom he was rude, unhelpful and defensive. The staff generally need training in customer service most of which was pretty appalling. It’s such a shame as it has the potential to be a nice hotel but clearly they need to tighten their cleaning procedures and room checks the stay was sub par. I stay in a lot of hotels and for £176 this was overpriced and not what I was expecting. To be spoken to like I was piece of dirt is unacceptable and frankly being nice costs nothing! I was not asking for refund merely informing of the problem so the next guest didn’t experience what I did.

Overall a good hotel, it was smart and clean with great grounds and facilities .
The only slight disappointment was the prices and quality of the food! A chicken Caesar salad at £20.50 you would have expected a little more than a small amount of salad with a fairly tasteless dressing, around 5 small croutons and a dry, barely warm piece of charred chicken breast.
The breakfast was also a bit of a shambles as not one of the staff really looked after the hot buffet. The buffet ran out as soon as it hit the hot plate, so you then had to find a member of the service team to see if they could get some more food out .
The hotel in our eyes could be much better if there was just an eye for detail in the service and food quality as it was a wonderful experience other than this.

Norton as a hotel was fine, bit lacking in care with the breakfast outdoor seating area. Room we had was quiet and plenty of room. But they ran out of water for the rooms on the second night. Breakfast on the second morning being bank holiday weekend was a sham. Coffee machines dishing out very weak coffee and that was the ones working, ran out of yogurt, pastries, glasses and mugs. Let alone the sporadic hot food coming out and quite a que forming!! we walked into breakfast and no clear tables to sit at, a lot hadn't been cleared. so sat outside. no sight of a manager to help their staff out in the hotel!!!

Arrived early,we were told it would be £25to check in before 3pm.As we looked like nice ladies that would be waivered. Room was ready.
Room189. Felt extremely cold, windows were slightly open as room smelt slightly musty.
Started to unpack and noticed how dusty the room was. On the glass surfaces you were able to write your name in the dust.
Also along the bed head wiping with your finger you could create a small pile of dust!
The upturned water glasses had a layer of dust on them.
The glass shelves in the bathroom were also covered with obvious dust.
We mentioned this and were offered the room opposite which was also extremely dusty so we remained in room 189.
We were told that these rooms were used regularly which I dispute. Would think it had not been used for a few weeks.

The beds were comfortable.

The ladies toilet , near the the bar , had no hand towels in it for the whole time we stayed at the hotel!
I booked our room on 5th march 2025. I was meeting a friend of 55 years and looking forward to meeting up for a couple of days. May 19th to May 21st
We spoke to the Manager who offered us a complimentary drink at the bar for the inconvenience!

Our get together was tarnished by this incident!

Set in a lovely situation, away from all the hustle & bustle! The woodland walk on property that we asked about was actually no longer accessible, but just walking along the long driveway provided nice views of the countryside and flower-farm in the distance! We made use of the bar menu for our evening meal, and the breakfast buffet was good. The spa (Sunday daytime) was very quiet which was perfect. The staff were really nice and friendly. Unfortunately we were kept waiting 30 minutes for our lunch, but other than that it couldn't have been better. I would visit again if I was in that area, or recommend to others.

We stayed here for a night while attending a wedding nearby and our stay was very pleasant. The staff were helpful and accommodating and the breakfast was pleasant enough.

The hotel accommodation is set over a large area so there might be a bit of a walk from the hotel reception to your room but the rooms are fine for a short stay. Clean and comfy with good water pressure.

Relaxing Stay, cannot fault

Overall a very good stay. Room spacious, bright and quite. Well equipped. All the staff very friendly and helpful. We were travelling with a dog and she was very we catered for and everyone made a fuss of her. Breakfast was buffet (which suited us) plentiful, varied and tasty. We had our own seating area outside the restaurant for the inclusion of the dog but were made to feel very comfortable. Spa, although nice was, I feel dated. It had sufficient facilities, and staff again were lovely, but it was more gym than zen. There were facilities for children only swims and aqua aerobics if you felt inclined. All clearly stated on a hand out sheet at book in. The hotel is sprawling but you soon get your bearings and soon learn the cut throughs. Bar was relaxing and again excellently staffed. Overall a most enjoyable, and welcoming stay. Cannot highlight a staff member as all were very very good. Plenty of grounds for dog walking. One idea - maybe a picnic area - weather was excellent and we sat on the grass near our room to eat lunch. It would be lively to have designated picnic area.

Room was cold and souless. Dust everywhere. I had to wipedown the interior of the wardrobe. Long wait for food in the bar and when it turned up it was poor quality. Hot dog was over cooked and cold and roasted pepper soup tasted bitter. I guess they left the charred skin in the mix. The walk from the deluxe room block at the farthest point from reception and restaurants. Is not for the faint hearted!! Take a coat.

I found the room small and the bed had seen better days with an obvious dip in the center where several guests have slept. Coldest room i have ever slept in even the TV didnt work properly! Food mediocre, oven baked salmon was so dry it sucked the moisture out of your mouth, charred burnt burgers and schnitzel so hard could be usec it as a weapon. Salt and pepper squid yummy, obviously brought in, as was the dairy free dessert. Also, watch out for the £100 pending charge for a £9+ outsranding balance. Outrageous, if dining room staff had done their job in fisrt place, there would be no balance to pay. Some staff were surly and arrogant. Wouldn't recommend as a stay, found this to be case in chain hotels, get them in, rip them off send them on their way.

Great Spa Hotel

We had a 2nts stay including a spa treatment & was absolutely lovely. The room was very clean & the bed was very comfortable, we had a spa treatment each too which was amazing but we did have a minor discrepancy regarding payment which was soon rectified & spa facilities excellent. Overall our stay here was very nice & would definitely stay here again in the future.

Very very disappointed

I booked a night with access to the spa after a shopping trip for my daughter's birthday. The room was freezing and the TV didn't work. Housekeeping came and verified that it wasn't working and that maintenance would come, so we waited in the room for over an hour. I went to reception to let them know we were going for a walk incase maintenance need access and are told they had left for the day - would've been nice to have been told!
We went to the pool for a swim and a steam room but the steam was out of order which we had not been advised about.
When we got back to the room it was freezing, we had to snuggle together in all our layers under the covers as despite turning the radiator up it didn't come on. Very disappointed, more for my daughter as she had been so looking forward to it.

Won’t be returning

I was really looking forward to this weekend stay with my boyfriend. The room was great, can’t fault it at all, we loved it. Drink service was great at the bar and there was a lovely lady who we think could be the manager who always served us with a smile. However, food service was slow at the bar and we actually had three people complain about service/food while we were there for lunch. Food arrived cold and took longer than expected for two paninis, so I imagine it must have been sat a while before served to us. Finally the spa was small and the pool water has turned my hair green, so I’m having to spend more money to remove the green from my hair than what I paid for the weekend stay. Not sure what was in the water for that to happen because I have dark hair not blonde which is normally the colour of hair that turns green.
