The room wasn’t cleaned properly coffee stains on wall,I then had a shower went to dry my hair and got a electric shock from there hairdryer which left a black mark on my hand, the hairdryer was so old wires hanging out and the pat tester sticker was un recognisable if that had been a child it good have been very serious not saying this wasn’t, the young girl moved us to another room and refunded me, but they should have offered me compensation as the manager I spoke to was sorry but did laugh which I didnt think it was funny.

Saff are brilliant, very friendly and really wanted to help unfortunately regional senior management still have not provided a deafguard as required by the equality act 2010 putting both myself and staff at risk in a fire, also interior is getting tired, i had a flooding issue in room 19 and room 15 smelt damp musty and needs a deep clean.

I’ll admit I did make the booking only a few weeks away from our arrival and because of that some of our regular hotels in the area were not available. I took a look at this Days in online and while it wasn’t ideal in terms of location I figured it looked ok for the few days we needed it.
The first issue was I booked a family room with multiple beds and was given a room with a single bed. When I went to the front desk I was told that even though I booked a room with multiple beds they decided to give me one with a single bed because I put on guest at time of booking.
I also prepaid for the early check in a few days before arrival and it was not in the system when I arrived. All that said the gentleman at the front desk did change the room and allow the 1pm check-in.
I thought that was the end of any issues until I actually got into the room, the condition of the room left a bit to be desired. I’m not sure when last the carpet had ever been cleaned. There was Mold in the shower and around the tub, I had to create a shower mat out of a plastic bag in order to use it. There were spiders and other creatures in the room.
The bathroom sink drain was stuck shut and I asked a member of staff to assist hoping he would see the condition of the room and maybe realise the room hadn’t been cleaned (in months) he just banged at it with a spoon and acted like I should have been able to fix it.
This was not a great experience at all.

Unfortunately when we arrived in our room the door was already open, which might be a normal thing but it was dark and 10 pm at night, and we were two girls so anyone could have been in are room ! Again it was 10pm and we was tired as we had travelled from London so panic mode had set in . Once in the room both bursting for the toilet NO toilet roll and didn’t want to go back to the reception as we was up stairs we couldn’t have a drink as there was only one milk sachet ! No tea bags so nothing to drink , the desk was covered in food crumbs which was absolutely disgusting!

We arrived & were given our key. In the room there were 2 TV’s neither of them worked due to wires being broken. Our shower had mould on the floor & after being on for less than 30 seconds started to overflow onto the floor due to the drain being blocked. The only staff member on shift came to the room twice to fix it but couldn’t. We were offered to wait until 11pm with 2 small children sleeping or the next morning. We asked to move rooms, this wasn’t able to happen. Our beds were extremely uncomfortable too.

No breakfast was seen that I pod for throughout. Property smells bad, it’s grubby inside and there’s loots of rubbish outside around the eating area where' I saw a large rat. Also there’s lots of noise from the services. If you are desperate to rest and the price is right it’s fine but have no expectations beyond 1-2 star in quality.

Good enough for the one night stay to break up travel. But had to ask for a new room as the stench of smoke almost knocked us over when we entered the original room. The bathroom was filthy too. A new room was provided which was much cleaner but didn’t appreciate staff trying to say the smoke odour was “air freshener that’s used between stays” and if it was just the “fragrance we didn’t like?” - definitely wasn’t a fragrance and had clearly been heavily smoked in despite all rooms saying “non smoking” on the doors. Did the job though but very very basic for the price.

Hotel and rooms all desperately need a refresh. All very basic. When booked paid for breakfast but not restaurant so had to buy food at neighbouring service station. Staff said this happens regularly. Shower tray almost flowed onto floor, since loose, sockets loose.

short stop over on route to a family holiday, this room had a dirty carpet, tv which didn't work and a poorly maintained bathroom with mould, damaged door and a toilet roll holder falling off. The bedroom also had cold on the skirting board.The maintenance on the property and decoration is needing a complete rethink as tired to say the least.

I knew this was at a service station when I booked it, however at this one the hotel is near the service are and the side of the main services area, meaning it is quite noisy with deliveries. Also when I booked it said breakfast included, however there is no breakfast available in the hotel, and no food was included. You are limited to the food available at the service station. After 7pm in the evening this is Costa and Burger King - so limited choice and very little healthy options. There is a microwave at the htoel which you can use to heat a meal bought from the M&S.
In the morning there are a few more options open - Pret, The Cornish Pasty Co and Greggs open up.

This is in a motorway service station - you have to go up to the next junction to return to the hotel - which is a 16 mile round trip. This should really be made clear when booking. It was our intention to use as a base and get a taxi from an event - we were unable to do this because of the additional 16 miles. No glasses in rooms. No mugs in rooms. Fire alarm at 1am. Our stay was refunded.

Starting with bathroom Mould all over the tiles not just mildew which was there as well and mould on the outside wall by sleeping area. The maintenance of room was beyond poor. Toilet roll holder almost falling off the wall, wall painted as if a child had done the work, not even a matching colour. There is no quality control or standards being adhered to here. Walls are filthy and cob webs all over the ceiling which I removed. No extraction fan in bathroom thus creating the condition for mould. The bottom of shower looks awful and what appears to be glue or reside from a bath mat. We left for the day touring, came back room wasn’t cleaned towels not replaced. Left again came back and still no cleaning or towels. Went to reception and was told we didn’t ask for our room to be cleaned but she provided toilet paper and towels as well as removed garbage. Website states rooms cleaned daily and despite leaving the door hanger out that room is available to be cleaned so there was no lack of communication on our part. Last night fire alarm kept going off,we thought it was the smoking outside our window so closed it. Went off again then silence. This morning no hot water until just after 9 am so much for an early start. Never have we stayed at a Days Inn that looked like this. We understand that these are budget hotels and that decor may be dated but there needs to be some minimum standards set. This Inn would do well with the rent the room out by the hour clientele. Bed was comfy!

The main redeeming feature of the property was the friendly service from the staff. The room is outdated, the bathroom had rusting taps and showerhead, there was one bath towel in a room allocated for a family of four, and the hotel had run out of breakfasts so we had to make alternative arrangements. Not good.

Hadn’t been vacuumed fully, couldn’t access WiFi, tv didn’t work, curtains were partially falling off and the room had no towels. There was tea and coffee making facilities though. We've stayed at this Days Inn quite a few times and always found it acceptable. We were quite disappointed this time to find the shower floor was dirty and we felt unable to use the shower. The other big issue was finding that the heating was off in the room - on the coldest day of the year !!!! The wall mounted heater was obviously known not to be working because a portable heater had been put in the room - l just wish they had switched it on before we checked in - which was after 8pm.by the way.
