My wife and I had a wonderful stay at Melia Chiang Mai over Chinese New Year, and it exceeded our expectations. The hotel arranged a seamless airport pickup, which was a great start to our trip. The staff were absolutely fantastic—friendly, attentive, and always ready to help. They even assisted us in booking a couple of excellent tours around the area.
The buffet breakfast every morning was a highlight; delicious variety and great quality to fuel our days. I really enjoyed the well-equipped gym and the relaxing pool—perfect for unwinding. Location-wise, a lot of Chiang Mai's nightlife, markets, and restaurants are just a short walk away, making it super convenient.
Overall, a luxurious and comfortable spot with excellent service. We'd happily return!

We stayed here for our honeymoon and it was amazing! The hotel was very clean and very well decorated. The staff were amazing and so friendly! And the food was great as well! It is also right next to the night bazaar and had tons of things within walking distance!

The epitome of Asian hospitality, the staff were genuinely friendly and took pride in their work. They accommodated my requests, rooms were clean and beds were comfy and cosy. I had booked some spa treatments and they accommodated my request to have my elderly mother sit in the treatment room with me as she has dementia and cannot be on her own. If I ever visit Chiang Mai again I will definitely stay there.

We spent two nights at the Melia in Chiang Mai and enjoyed our time there. The staff at the Melia were wonderful. They were so friendly and kind. The buffet breakfast was delicious with something for everyone. I enjoyed the gym as well as the pool and the kids club was huge with lots of different areas for our 2 and 4 year old niece and nephew to play in. The room was spacious and comfortable. The two, very mild, negatives were the air conditioning as it was hard to get a comfortable temperature. It was either way too cold or too hot, despite us trying to set the temperature to something reasonable. The shower, although very comfortable, also filled up with water quite quickly so I think the drainage might need to be updated. The hotel was close to many massage parlours and coffee shops and about a 10-15 minute walk to the center of town. We would definitely stay again.

I stayed in The Level Premium Room with club lounge access. The service has been impeccable since I arrived - with welcome drinks, detailed explanations of the lounge and other services such as free ironing of 1 garment per day. The lounge on Level 21 also provided a great view over Chiang Mai, and guests were also given afternoon tea with delicious scones (and other pastries) with a variety of drinks and then evening cocktails with light dinner bites. The room was spacious and the bed was extremely comfortable. Highly recommend this hotel in Chiang Mai!

Nice hotel with friendly and helpful staff. We (a group of six) stayed at the level premium rooms which is super spacious. Love most the shampoo and handwash as they are of nice fragrance which I like. All very well except the drain in the showers were relatively slow. Also, coffee from the buffet breakfast was worth highlighting. All of us had a great stay at this hotel. Will stay again next time when we are in chiang mai!

Booked here very last minute due to a change in plans, and ended up LOVING the stay. From the moment you’re greeted out front to the minute you leave, everyone is so pleasant and friendly. The rooms, atmosphere, pool area, and dining are STUNNING, and the staff is so attentive and amazing. Room service was so amazing, and the cleaning was immaculate. As a family hotel, I enjoyed my stay at Melia Chiang Mai as a couple. We upgraded to a Level suit and found the amenities worth it. The best part was the daily happy hour but you can also have breakfast with much better quality of food than found in the buffet. The location is quite walkable and near the night market and the old city but also a lot of great local restaurants and cafes. The food in the northern Thailand is amazing and you will never run out of options. The pool is amazing and they have great pool service but unfortunately, even though there is a kids pool, it does get over run with children. It would be great if there was an adults only or a Level pool for upgraded guests who prefer a quieter environment. The hotel staff were so warm and friendly, I need to give a shout out to Mos, who really made my visit feel as though I was appreciated at all times. Other highlights of the hotel is they make their own Kombucha that can be purchased at the bar. We did have a small issue with a leak from the air conditioner but the hotel sent a service man up ASAP and the issue never occurred again for the rest of our stay. I would definitely make a return visit next time I travel north in Thailand.

Minor criticism: at breakfast (which was very good), the coffee machines didn’t seem able to make hot coffee (though once mentioned we had hot coffees made especially for us).

My partner and I spent 9 nights here at the end of June, and everything about our stay was exceptional. From the moment we arrived to the moment we (reluctantly) checked out, we were treated with such genuine care, professionalism, and attention to detail.

The service was absolutely top-tier across the board—from housekeeping, pool staff, and restaurant teams to the doormen and security. Every single interaction felt warm, seamless, and thoughtful. It’s rare to find a hotel where every staff member takes so much pride in their role, and it shows.

Our room was spotless, modern, and extremely comfortable. The hotel itself is beautiful and well-maintained, with stunning rooftop views, a relaxing pool area, and a calm, elevated atmosphere throughout. We genuinely looked forward to coming “home” to Melia each day.

Checked in Melia Chiang Mai, when we opened the door and entered the room, we could only describe it as \"Wow\"! The space is spacious and comfortable, and the interior is clean and tidy! The surrounding environment is also quite quiet, and there is a night market nearby, which is very convenient!
We dined in the restaurant twice, once at noon and once during happy hour, and the service was very friendly! I believe we will come back to stay again!

Our 5 nights stay during early February 2025 was ok,not memorable nor bad.Our Melia room was well appointed,clean and everything worked well but given the good size of it,the bathroom was incredibly very tight with a very narrow sliding door although the rain shower was strong and delightful.The low ceilings were sometimes striking at the different corridors.The gym was well equipped with state of the art treadmills. The breakfast was good as can be expected in such property and very well organized despite the high amount of guests every morning,I really appreciated the automatically squeezed fresh orange juice . The location is at walking distance of the city center and main markets.The lobby, lifts and in general the common areas were mostly crowded.The staff was nice and helpful.My wife and I were discussing about the experience and decided that the next time in Chiang Mai we will choose a less crowded boutique style property.

Everything is good except that the staff is a bit penny pinching and stingy. It did not happen to me but i saw a young couple tried to bring a banana and a muffin for their late-rise child from the breakfast buffet, and a staff stopped them and said that's not allowed. For a 5-star hotel breakfast buffet, i think it's at least not friendly. When i checked in, i was told i will enjoy late-check-out because i had a long stay(8-nights). But when i checked out, they don't agree on this. Finally it's resolved and i didn't pay extra. Overall, the hotel is clean and new, walking distance to everything, it's nice.

A true to form Melia hotel. Staff was very kind, room was very stunning with great views. The hotel is well situated to key items especially the sunday night market which was amazing. The tom yum soup from room service was absolutely amazing, probably one of the best ive ever had.
Staff can be a little slow on responding to requests. We had to ask twice for laundry bags. The bathroom had a very unkind smell which we reported, i believe the cleaner came when we stepped out but the smell did not leave.
