The Novotel city centre Bucharest has a superb location. Right on Victoria Street/Boulevards, old city is only minutes away, easy location for guided and walking tours. The Main Street is full with coffee shop, dessert shops and restaurants all with different style and vibe for every taste, and on weekends transportation is not allowed so street and road are open for pedestrians.
The reception staff were always helpful and welcoming especially Alexander. We got help with recommendations and directions.
We only used the hotel lounge once as we wanted to try the local area. Ruth from the lounge is a real ray of sunshine with her hosting skills and bright smile.
The room was spacious and clean, with air conditioning and beautiful city view.
We had a minor issue with a smell from the bathroom sink, and the hotel tried to resolve, but couldn’t after several attempts. I hope they managed to sort it before the next guest. (Room 711).
Each floor has a water cooler if you wish to fill up your bottles ahead of your day.
All in all a great stay, and would highly recommend this hotel.

Had a family room but v small and felt cramped - with old fittings around it - it needs a refurb. Breakfast choices limited - juice and coffee of low quality. Came here 2 years ago and since then the hotel has gone down - will not be returning as there are better choices around

The staff were very helpful and accommodating during our short stay. The rooms were all clean and spacious. We didn't make use of the hotel swimming & spa facilities, but the restaurant/bar were very nice and offered a good selection.

The location is well sited. Not far from the famous umbrella street and within an easy commute to locate train and bus stands.

There are lots of places to eat & drinks nearby too. The short stroll back to the hotel was much needed, so yes, it was actually a prime location for our group.

The room was well appointed. The hotel itself was quite nice, and the lobby was beautifully decorated.

Shout out to Sorin in the bar who was lovely each time my wife and I went down for drinks.

The only major issues were the elevators were in a constant state of disrepair causing significant delays going up or down, and the room was terribly hot. The temperature setting for the winter season over-compensated. Besides these two issues, it was a good stay.

the hotel was clean and bed was very comfortable, located a few mins from the umbrella street so not too far from the places to eat and things to see, staff could have more information with regards to things like time the Christmas market closes, and things to do around the hotel, the shower door in our room was also not closing properly so we have issues with keeping the bathroom dry after using the shower

The hotel is good. Not great. It’s clean. It has decent amenities. However the room was very hot and the hotel also has nowhere to buy personal items. The restaurant was good and they have room service which was nice. Overall I would say it’s a fine place to stay but just not luxurious.

The hotel is in a very convenient and quiet location. Breakfast is great! However it is too dated and needs serious upgrades. Carpets are musty, the room furniture especially bed is ancient and the room configuration is awkward. The room is very spacious but ironically has a really tiny bathroom and toilet

The moment I entered the lobby for checking in I did come with the a new description for Hotels
FAST FOOD Hotel. You are almost just a number. No connection. Fast in fast out, next. The room was nice but then I realised there was no window that could be opened. And the same was with every floor-corridor. No fresh air. I would definitely not recommend unless you stay for 2 hours in the room.

This experience was terrible. The room had no hot water and the water that was coming out was brown. Apparently there was a broken pipe causing this issue however we were never told about it. Also the sofa bed is absolutely horrible.

We stayed two nights with my kids and had a great experience. The hotel is centrally located, just a short walk from the Lipscani old town area—very convenient for exploring Bucharest. The breakfast was delicious and diverse, with plenty of food and drink options for everyone. The staff were kind and helpful throughout our stay. When my daughter accidentally reset the safe-box code and locked it, I called the front desk and within 5 minutes, someone from IT came and fixed it quickly. Great service and overall a pleasant stay—would definitely recommend!

Too generic. Too pricey for what you get

The hotel was centrally located. The cleaners and the service was good especially the cleaning personnels. However the state of the hotel is. A lot to be desired of. The carpet is horribly stained. The Aircon can’t be changed even if it’s 41 degrees outside.

The room is spacious but it’s unnecessary as the bed is too small for 2 person.

I tried to arrange transfer from the airport. Instead of messaging on Expedia the wanted to email. I responded to the request and thought I had booked it. When I got to the arrivals I called and they said I had not.

Then I took taxi. He said I couldn’t pay with card and charged me $100 USD. HE RIPPED ME OFF

The hotel’s location is perfect! Downtown, close to cafes and restaurant and tourist spots.

The staff was nice.

It would have been nice to have some water in the room. There was a fridge, but no water or other drinks, not even for pay.

We later found a water dispenser in the hallway, but no one had told us about it, even when we asked at the reception where we could get some water. We were sent to the nearest supermarket.

The breakfast is really good, with a lot of options and very good food.

Nice stay at a strategic location

The stay was very nice, staff was very friendly, room was generally clean, and the breakfast was very very nice. Breakfast staff was also very kind especially when I asked them to provide the details of a very tasty jam (forest berries; they offered some free amount for the days there if needed and the details to order it online).
Hotel has a strategic location, close to city center and Old City, ideal for sightseeing, with shops, cafeterias, restaurants, and parks close to it.

In the drawbacks: despite we reached hotel at 10am due to early flight from Athens and we were waiting in the lounge for long time, we were informed that our room would be ready until 2:30-3pm. After asking 3 times, 3rd at 3:10pm, we were informed that room was ready but when we went to the room, it was prepared for 2 persons despite hotel knew we were 4 (2 adults, 2 kids), so we asked hotel to prepare the additional bed (sofa converted to bed) and to bring us additional bath towels. Fortunately, staff was fast and prepared these within 20 minutes. A couple of the \"public\" toilets at Reception level also need some refurbishment.

Centrally located, within a few minutes from the historical Old Town and the buzzing high street with restaurants and bars. Nice and welcoming staff, ready and willing to assist. As expected, the hotel at this time of the year was busier than normal and that must have had an impact on the room service as that was inconsistent. Apart from that, happy with the overall service and was pleased to see that they had \"Rituals\" shampoo and shower gel in the room, that was definitely a plus.

The hotel staff were friendly and very helpful. The room itself was nice and clean. It was a little weird that the toilet doesn’t have a sink and is separated from the bathroom but we got used to that. The breakfast was great. The only downside to the hotel was the WiFi which was slow and tended to disconnect a lot.

The staff wasn’t very friendly. Not unkind or rude, just not friendly. We were disappointed upon arrival as we had requested adjoined rooms or at least rooms near each other when we made the reservation. We were given rooms on different floors. I had also called the day before to confirm and they said it would be possible. So that was a disappointment for our family.

We stayed intially in the junior suite which was spacious, quite stylish and included a free mini bar. Our initial room had shown as being cleaned on the hotel system but in fact it hadnt but we were moved swiftly and compensated with complimentary drinks by a very efficient and pleasant member of staff. Due to availability we subsequently stayed in an executive room on the top floor. It has a more restricted free mini bar and a large smart tv and was quiet but felt a little more cramped as were spoiled by the suite. the hotel is in a superb central location close to the Old Town but in a quieter area close to cafes and convenience stores and the common areas including the bar are impressive and contemporary
