A lot of stairs which was not told befor, was a big problem for us. Location is good for someone who needs hotel in harbor, otherwise would not choose.

Place is very old and run down. We were placed in a room covered with mold and not at all inviting.The Laundry closes for the week end and the luggage locker was not sucure. Check process was painful and slow.

Not worth it!

1 towel in room, and 1 small soap for a couple. No WiFi( even though its advertised as free WiFi in rooms). We had to walk about 20 steps with 2 large suitcases and 2 carry one more to get to our room. Bed is extremely uncomfortable and the pillow was flat. We arrived at the hotel around 2:15pm, put our bags down and then went to grab some lunch, but to our surprise all the restaurants in the area were close and would be opened at 7pm. Overall its not worth €115 per night!

The property is close to the Marina and many restaurants. There is also a market at the Marina which is helpful. There in no beach access. This is not a relaxing vacation hotel but more just a place to sleep. There was no soap or shampoo or anything like that (there was soap container on the wall which did not work; I complained and the clerk reluctantly gave me two small soap bars. There is a pool but now towels. Lastly the bed and pillows were very hard. Honestly I've been more comfortable in Motel 6s in the US. But the price was reasonable and the location was nice.

Bare Basic hotel Room

The hotel has friendly people there. They keep the hotel very clean daily. Its in a great place directly 3 minutes from The Marina area. All in all, it's a good hotel. My not so good comments come from getting a standard room that is located down some steps with no elevator as a solo traveler through the parking lot. Not a good idea for me as a solo female. I asked to be upgraded but it cost me too much so lesson learned. Because of my hotel room location, I made sure I was back in my room locked by sunset. During the day, I walked around, sat by the pool and just enjoyed the view from the hill.

The good thing about this place is the pool. The internet service is a disaster. It requires multiple levels of sign in security, new passwords several times per day, and limits one's ability to use VOIP services. I hated it. There is no bar, and the restaurant is limited to breakfast, for which they over charge.

Unpleasant stay.

Check-in was unfriendly and there was no luggage assistance...no trolley. Had to drag the luggage to the room and had to negotiate endless gravel and steps....what a tedious exercise on one's vacation. The room was very dark and the furniture old. Would not stay again. Housekeeper was friendly.

While checking in, my iPhone could not find the hotel wi-fi. When it finally found it, it connected but was still unable to go online. So the manager gave me a mobile wi-if device (mobile provider: Orange Fr) to use for the duration of my stay. As it was portable, I could take it with me and use in my rental car around the whole island. Fantastic service!!!

Room was spacious if a little dated, bathroom (shower room) seemed newly refurbished. Only negative was that the tv was not opposite the bed and only French language channels, but with incredible wi-fi, this was not an issue.

Property is very close to the marina and numerous restaurants. Breakfast was mediocre. No other amenities on site.

There were no directions at all in the room so we had a difficult time operating the stove, the enclosure for the balcony and even the phone system

Super cute little hotel in ale Gosier next to the marina. Walking distance to the grocery store and restaurants. It had weird entrances to the rooms but overall was really nice. Clean, with a view of the marina and a nice pool. People were really friendly too. Will definitely stay there again if we find ourselves back in Guadeloupe

Good for one night stay, too “city” for us.

One night stay following late afternoon arrival. Area has many restaurants to choose. Room clean, basic furniture, standard hotel layout. Hurricane shutter needed to be raised with rod hidden away on balcony.
Saturday night was very busy and noisy. Closing balcony door and putting AC on blocked noise.
Hotel built on hill, so you need to be able to navigate sloped paths and stairs with your luggage. Walk to village is steep, not very long.
Breakfast buffet not included in hotels.com rate, was 10 euros per person.

Great location near harbor restaurants for 1 night

We stayed for one night to be close to the airport, which this hotel was perfect for. It was a short walk down to the harbor for dinner which has numerous good restaurants to chose from and great ambiance. The AC, internet, and shower all worked fine. The view from the pool was beautiful although we didn't use it. The unit had an updated modern bathroom, but overall the hotel could use a little updating. It was very comfortable though and we had no complaints. I would stay here again if I needed a 1-2 night stay and didn't want to drive as far as the beach areas.

Run down, basic 2 star.

The hotel is quite old and run down. Not like the photos on the web. It's a bit of a walk down the hill with the baggage. Then down stairs to get to the room. The bathroom had been redone. Our socks were filthy after walking around the room. The outside mini kitchen was spartan. No microwave or coffee pot. We rewashed all utensils prior to using them. The breakfast was continental. The second day there were no rolls or cold cuts. If you wanted to go to the local market or restaurant it was down a steep hill and back up the hill. Suggest you pass on this place and try other hotels in the area.

When first arriving at the hotel it's possibly hard to get to because it's on top of the hill and it seems like you're just driving in to the parking lot instead of the road. Probably the most important thing about this hotel is that they say there is parking, but there isn't anywhere close to enough spaces. Arrive early! I don't know where the nearest place to park might be if you can't get in there lot (that has about 20 spots total. Maybe). My guess would be at the bottom of the hill. Tough hike.
The room was clean and had a little patio where you could look out to the water. There was a little kitchenette area. The room looked kind of shabby and outdated, but then the bathroom was modern and new and lovely. The bed was very comfortable!
Just down the hill is a large area that had probably 20-30 restaurants, souvenir shops, and market. I don't know how late things were open, but an easy walk. The Marina is right there and that means access to water activities easily.
I would definitely recommend this place.

Okay for a short stay

I only stayed overnight and chose it because it was reasonably close to the airport (13km) and reasonably priced. It was much better than I expected, although my expectations were modest. The room was clean and comfortable, but a little tired. The staff were friendly and helpful, and their English was adequate. Breakfast was good and there are some good restaurants a few minutes walk away. Considering the price and it's age it was better than it looked on the internet.

We stayed at this hotel for just one night so that we could take the ferry early next day.
The room was simple, but it was only one night so we didn't need much. After being in the room for 10-15 minutes, my husband saw a small roach on the bathroom floor. OK, no need to panic, it's the Caribbean, this happens. Then he opened a desk drawer, and 4 or 5 roaches came out running, opened a second drawer, same thing.
We didn't ask for another room because we thought it would all be the same, we were tired and just wanted to get some sleep. Put our luggage on top of a table and tried not to think about it.
But we would never go back there.

Bad service. No WIFI.

Came here on a transit stay from the airport. First, despite being close - this was not simple - a hefty 60 euro return fare. Whatever, that's not the hotel's fault.

A few things that REALLY annoyed me:
1. Despite being there for only 10 hours, I was given a room far away from the entrance - which involved carrying my bag over rocks, down stairs, through a carpark and through a semi-construction site. That is not ok. When I was given my key, the receptionist just pointed me towards a building without giving clear instructions - this caused confusion and just made it all more difficult.
2. I was told there was wifi in the rooms. There was not. Despite going back and informing reception, they were insistent there was. I hate being lied to.
3. I asked the hotel to call me a taxi for the morning - I HAD TO PAY HIM A EURO. How petty is that? Like the room is expensive and calling an airport taxi is a basic service provided by hotels. I thought that was just pathetic.

The room itself was rundown, very much like a motel room. The bathroom seemed newer and more comfortable. No power points near the beds, no wifi. The area was good, 3 min walk to the marina and the restaurants there. Yet I would not stay here again. Overpriced and terrible service.

My son and I spent two nights at this hotel. Excellent location, close to many restaurants, ATM and bus routes. Hotel room in good condition, and kitchenette was a plus. Very clean.
Reception was very helpful and special thanks to Marie for loads of good advice.
Only negative was spotty wifi in the bedroom.

Filthy Dump. Rude Staff. Unsafe. Did not Stay.

Hotel details state noon check-in. Not true. Manager told me I had to wait a couple of hours. Then rudely gave me a room when I showed him reservation details. Room was like a prison cell. Dark, no windows and so damp the floor was wet. Complete with bird feathers on floor and no wifi. Very steep stairs to get to room. Lugged suitcase back up stairs to change to a room with wifi.
Took suitcase back up steep stairs. Checked to see if wifi worked outside near pool. It did. Went to reception to change to room. Rudely was given key to another room. Dragged suitcase back across property and down lengthy steep stairs again. Another dungeon-like room and no wifi. Back to reception I went. Manager said wifi was free, and if it didn't work, it was free anyway. If there were no pillows, would they not be provided if missing?
Solution provided was to upgrade room to get wifi. Upgrade was near twice the price of original reservation. I was so tired, I conceded. When I got to third room, I found the lock on the door to be only a key in the door handle, which was so shaky it nearly fell off. There are people that stay here long-term, loitering the property. The area is not safe or secure, and no safes. I was afraid to leave and afraid to stay. So I went back to reception and said I was leaving.
Reception was so rude I can't even believe the experience. They promised to refund, but did not. I disputed original reservation with expedia and the \"Upgrade\" with credit card company. Crooks.

Dumpy place in a great locaton

The bed was like a hard board. The room was dark and.cave-like. The lock on the room door was hard to use and not reliable. The bathroom was nice, good size. Decent, clean, large swimming pool. No English TV.

The main good thing is it's proximity to the marina and it's restaurants. Also, fairly close to the airport.

This hotel is up a Steep hill from the marina and town. If you drive (2 minutes) to the town parking could be an issue and the walk is short but could be to much if you have issues.

Recommended hotel for your stay in Guadeloupe

Hotel Village Soleil is a good place to stay, located near the grocery shop and lot's of local restaurants. Peaceful, very clean, modernized bathroom, small kitchenette and great healthy breakfast with lot of fruits. People were friendly and spoke enough English. Especially the receptionist gentleman was very helpful and the gentleman taking care of the breakfast restaurant was super friendly. Walking distant from the must place Aquarium and if you like walking you can walk also to Pointe-a-Pitre city center (3 km). The only complaint was the quality of WiFi signal in our guest room, it dropped quite often, Recommend this hotel.

No wifi is a big problem

The first clerk was wonderful, polite, helpful, friendly; when we went back to get other info, the woman who replaced him was rude and unfriendly and condescending, as we should know already what she knew. We asked for the wife code; she told us that only one device per room is allowed to get wifi access (!! - we have two kids and our own needs). She \"generously\" gave us two codes, but neither worked and nothing could be done about it, so we couldn't look up restaurants, museum times, flight times, etc. How can a hotel function like that these days?
The hotel is a secure compound with a gate for the parking lot, which fills up. We were very worried about a car blocking our way out when we had to leave at 5:45am, since they don't take license plate numbers and wouldn't be able to identify whose car was blocking, which room the owner was in. Security seems to be a concern but we had no problem ourselves.
I used the large pool, which I very much enjoyed. The facilities in general are rather old, but functional. The Wifi issue and rudeness of the second clerk troubled our stay.
Just down the hill is the marina with alot of restaurants. The aquarium is in easy walking distance; the Memorial ACTE museum of slavery in the Americas is a short drive (and beautiful, very informative museum). In the morning, our car was not blocked in and we got to the airport in time.
Otherwise, the room was great, with a loft landing, and a terrace / outdoor kitchen. Nice bathroom, etc.

Good hotel top of the hill near La Marina

I was looking for a property with free carpark near Pointe a Pitre. This hotel is perfect for me. There are A/C, fridge, small kitchenette and TV in the room and also swimming pool, laundry and restaurant in the complex. You can walk down to La Marina where shops, supermarket, bars and restaurants are. However, you do need a car. Reception people are extremely helpful.

Great Hotel Only In Need of a Few Touch Ups

I was a bit skeptical before I came to this hotel as it had a 2/5 rating. However after trying it out, I give it 4/5 stars!!!

This hotel is perfect for me. First, I love the fact that there is 24/7 reception service. Secondly, the property is well protected with a closed gate 24/7 and controlled access. You truly feel safe here.

The room was very cozy and had more space than I anticipated. Buffet Breakfast was also excellent. Last of all, the hotel is near a boardwalk, walking distance, with a disco and areas to buy food.

All this hotel needs in my opinion is just some touch ups and upgrades. For example, every room should have an iron. Then the bed spreed given was threading. The bathroom needed a paint touch up. And the tiles around the pool should be placed back.

There are minor things in my opinion which did not affect my comfort and experience though. I definitely recommend this hotel to others.

Not the best start to a holiday !

1 night stay close to the marina which was perfect .Had a nightmare with the guy on reception who insisted that we pay for the room even though I had all my documentation to say this reservation has been paid in full . He demanded we pay again and if I could prove I was right ? He would give me the money back . We were getting nowhere and very tired having just arrived following a 9 hour flight. Eventually someone else arrived and a very heated argument took place between them and the recent employee arrival gave us our key and said yes we had paid . Our room was though an open air garage and down a very steep flight of stairs. As a 65 yr old and my husband 67 we were offered no help with our bags on arrival or departure . Very basic rooms Very overpriced

We booked this hotel for one night prior to an 8am flight the next day and were quite satisfied. There were several different restaurants just down the hill that were convenient. Not being sure about how to get to the airport, we did a \"dry run\" the day before and were glad we did. The signs were a bit confusing!

The hotel was pretty good. Our room was nicer than we expected. The hotel staff in the office isn't too friendly though. And they refuse to give you more towels when asked. They will only give you the allotted per person per room. The area is a good area if you don't rent a car. The marina is right down the street. You can walk around, eat and get on one of the day cruises! Overall it was good stay. Nothing fancy but good.

Convenient to the airport

My wife and I had an 8AM departure from remain airport and needed a place for one night a short cab ride away. This hotel was fine for this purpose. The staff at the front desk were very friendly and helpful despite our poor French and arranged the cab ride for us. The hotel is short walk from the shops and restaurants at the marina, which was a pleasant surprise. The facilities are basic but clean and everything was in working order. Aside from the marina itself, the neighborhood looks rough.

Nice greeting and ok in a pinch but wouldn't return as it is old , run down and in desperate need of upgrades and major renovations in all aspects. Was clean and bed was comfortable with a good location to marina at the bottom of the hill.

A notre arrivée, nous avons constaté qu'il n'y avait pas d'eau. Interrogé, le réceptionniste nous a dit que cela faisait trois semaines. Il a dit que si on voulait se laver, on n'avait qu'à le faire dans la piscine. Puis ils nous a donner un pack d'eau. Nous donner un hôtel où il n'y a pas d'eau pour l'hygiène, c'est une honte. Nous demandons un remboursement partiel de notre chambre. Merci de votre compréhension.

jeg spurgte ved ankomst om det var muligt at købe 6 timer på afrejsedagen, da mit fly var sent om aftenen, ja ingen problem, skulle betale 40 euro for de 6 timer, hvilket jeg sagde ja til, men men da jeg kom op til receptionen kl 10 formiddag, kunne det ikke lade sig gøre, da der kom en ny gæst som skulle bo i mit rum over længere tid. jeg kunne så få et andet værelse, som normalt ville koste 109 euro, men jeg kunne få mine 6 timer for 69 euro. Takkede pænt nej.
Og det er generelt alle steder, andre jeg kender boede på airbnb samme udtalelse,
Der var ingen vand på værelset , kunne dog købes i receptionen,
Jeg kan desværre ikke anbefale dette hotel pga dårlig service

C'était mon 3ème séjours dans cet établissement. Hormis le parking qui est vite rempli le soir, RAS. Excellent rapport qualité/prix. Le petit déjeuner est copieux et varié, et les salariés souriants et serviables.

L’état de l’hôtel est ancien, voire très vieillissant mais la salle de bain a été refaite entièrement avec goût et beaucoup de qualité, ce qu’ils est très agréable. La clim fonctionne parfaitement et tout est très propre.
Le personnel est très souriant.

L'eau courante coulait sans aucune pression. Du coup les douches étaient désagréables et beaucoup trop longues. Pas très écolo.
Je n'ai pas apprécié que l'une des hôtesses à l'accueil, très agressive se soit permise de m'engueuler parce que la personne qui m'a raccompagnée à klaxonné devant le portail. Heureusement qu'elle n'était présente qu'un seul jour durant mon séjour !
Sinon le personnel en dehors de cette personne est très agréable.
