Wonderfully relaxing and quiet holiday! The beach, the room and its restaurants were good and we even rented a car for a day and got out to the rainforest and waterfalls as well as swam with turtles!

The room was clean, the food at both restaurants was good, the staff was helpful and friendly. The buffet breakfast had lots of options, although I did wish they had an option for self serve for tea and coffee, it is just more accommodating to get it ourselves than to flag someone and wait for it. The beach is clean and the water is good for swimming, the beach chairs with shade is limited.

Customer Service Needs Improvement. We loss water for a few hours and the young girl at the front desk was pretty flippant telling me that “it’s normal” for this to happen. No apologies for the inconvenience. Unbelievable!
To get to the building where my room was, I had to climb many steps and walk a short distance to get to the elevators. Very inconvenient.
Common areas were hot. They should consider installing fans. Very uncomfortable.
The bright spot was our friendly bartender Maika. Great customer service, outstanding mixologist.

A very beautiful property! Warm staff! Didn’t like the broken elevator which didn’t work for the 5 nights we were here. The walk to and from our room with our bags was not fun on the numerous staircases. We managed though. It’s an expansive labyrinth of hotel rooms, and we Likened it to being in IKEA. Hard to find your way! 😀
The air conditioner seemed to be working but because of the placement of the beds, the air didn’t reach us. The air con hit the entry only. So it was quite quite warm at night.

Staff were friendly, room was clean and bright, good air con, no coffee or tea making facilities in the room. Lovely gardens, lots of birds/chickens, good selection of food, but breakfast lacked \"hot\" food, bacon and sausages regularly cold. Nice freshly cooked omelettes. Lack of english spoken and menu translations, thank goodness for google translate. Rooms were serviced every day and there was an option for fresh towels and sheets if required. The access road is very poor and regularly floods with any rain. The hotel is in a great location if you have a car and want to explore the island. It's a nice place, but it's unlikey we'll return.

Enjoyed my stay - great location

I really enjoyed my stay at the hotel. I liked the included breakfast, the towel loans for the beach and the parking. The room was clean and nice. The best part was the access to the beach, it was nice if we chose to stay around the area, as well it was nice for a night walk. As well 5 min walk away from the hotel in front of the casino there were 4-5 small family owned restaurants 😃.
The only negative for me was that my flight out was only at 5 pm and I asked for a late check-out at round 1:30-2:00pm and I was advised that it's 50% charge of one night. I understand if the hotel was at capacity but I checked and there were still free rooms possible to book.

The only negative thing I thought was that it was challenging to find the room…, I checked in at about 9:30pm or so, someone took my bags to my room. I thought that they could have waited and just directed me to the room at the same time. It is a big resort.

Friendly ish staff (depending which area, friendly overall but behind the bars).
Bathroom v dated (tiles and sanitaries : bath and basin vanity), very poor AC (complained on how hot the temperature was in room so a nice electrician came and said it’s set at 24.4 degrees and that’s that!) therefore set much too high!! It made our stay difficult as it’s 32/34 degrees outside! The pool itself the one nearer to beach) seen better days ( really dirty where the liner meets the surrounding pavement), the ladder quite dodgy and a few tiles missing too.
Definitely not a 4 stars, more like a 3! food buffet good and friendly staff in Reception and restaurant area.

This was our third trip to La Creole Beach hotel and we had a wonderful stay! The buffet food was terrific, the service was efficient, and the beach is always beautiful. You almost don't want to recommend this gem because what makes it great is that it is more laid back than a lot of traditional hotels in the Caribbean. You don't have to fight for a seat at the pool or beach and it really is the definition of relaxation on such a beautiful island.

It is supposed to be a four-star resort. It hasn't been upgraded for years. The staff is unfriendly, at times rude. It's outrageously expensive compared to other hotels on the island. It has a great website, but the reality is more modest.
We paid for the most expensive room and asked for a king-size bed, veranda, and ocean-view. When we got such room with no view, they moved us to one with view, but two beds. Our check in time was delayed by more than an hour for no reason.
During the stay, the food quality is more like Holiday Inn than a resort. Hot tea or coffee is not available, but instead warm is as hot as it gets.
Not only would I not recommend this place, I'd ask Expedia to consider removing them from your offerings as it reflects bad on your judgment.

Upon arrival, they were unable to check us into our room, so they supplied us with a free drink. We ate some food on the beach to pass the time. The food was unappetizing. When we finally accessed our room there was a water leak from the air conditioner. We asked for a room change which they didn’t want to provide us with at first, but ultimately did. We paid for 3 persons per room, but were supplied bath towels for 2 people. It was difficult trying to get extra towels. The pool had lots of children. It is very family friendly. The beach water was filled with seaweed on the day we decided to go to the beach. They cleaned the seaweed the next day, but by that time we were over the beach and decided to stay at the pool. We only found one restaurant on the property to eat. The food was delicious, however, they seem to have a roach issue, which we found out at the end of the meal. We tried to book an excursion a day in advance. Everything was either booked or not leaving because there was not enough people. The experience overall was more like a 3 star hotel

Horrible, left hotel early to find anywhere else

Guadeloupe is a beautiful place and should be on everyone's bucket list so it a shame that a hotel like La Creole exists.
It is hard to know where to start with how bad this place is, but we left after only 2 days of a 4 day booking.

Had booked a junior suite which, in reality, more closely resembles a prison cell. Dirty underwear was left on the window from previous occupants which took 2 days to be removed, bath is cracked and dirty.

The hotel is in a poor area so you must get past security guards before the hotel. It is extremely difficult to find parking.

Upon arrival at 4pm the room wasn't ready which is fine and reception said they would ring me when ready. This never happened and upon returning after 1.5 hours found the room was ready all along.

Massage does not happen beside the sea as per hotel photos but rather in a room in the hotel.

Staff simply do not seem to care, even when checking out 2 days early to go to a different hotel there was no interest in why I was leaving. My suspicion is that this is not the first time they have had this happen.

WiFi is extremely poor in the rooms.

The beach seems to be an artificial beach and is extremely shallow, if you want to swim best to try and find space in the swimming pool.

The hotel is dirty, we left two bottles of beer on the public terrace one evening with an ashtray. When we returned the following evening they were still there.

There is so many other faults with this place but not enough space on this site

The property is kept very clean everywhere. The views are fantastic. Meals are hot and cold buffets where you can eat as much as you want. A great relaxing place to be. We only met one other British family there. The staff were good at dealing with my lack of french. Most of the accommodation buildings are at a bit of a distance from the bar, pool, and restaurant area and things are often at different levels.

This was equally expensive and the choice felt similar to what was on offer at breakfast. It did not provide Creole type food that we were hoping for. A great place to stay on a wonderful island.

A lovely well kept property with a large and very interesting pool, plus a beach. The staff was super; they were of course trained well but they were so genuinely friendly and sweet. The buffet meals wee well above the norm with an excellent variety of offerings.
OUr room was large and nice but the air conditioning seemed a little weak though it did work, The TV was built into a mirror wall which prevented any use of a USB to watch a movie or show of our own, especially since my French, though ok for everyday communicationg, is not good enough for movie or tv watching and there was only CNN in English (the other English channels were over dubbed into French). Otherwise however, it was a wonderful place and we enjoyed it very much.

Good rum drinks at the bar. My room was comfortable. Inconvenient location for the elevators if staying in rooms close to sea. Pretty good overall.

We waited for over 2 hrs after checkin for our room. They ended up giving us a different room than the one we were originally assigned. The room was not as expected. Expedia said there would be 3 king beds. There was one king bed and one pull out bed. We called down to reception and they said they would call back. They never did. Then when we asked for bedding for the pull out bed they said some would be sent out. Nothing ever arrived. There was only scalding hot water, no cold and The toilet wouldn’t flush. Very expensive hotel for a rotten experience!

The hotel is great. You have to be patient as service is very slow , they are under staffed at front desk , the hotel is huge , walking from the room to the reception may take up to 5 minutes , and a lot of stairs . Elevators don’t work . They barely speak any English , most staff members speak only French . The concierge is very helpful but there is always a line .
I must mention we came for Christmas /New Year break and the island was shut down from a 1.5 year till October 8th due to Covid and it must be their first busy week .

This was a total disaster. We arrived at 4:30 pm but the room was not ready till 6:15 pm. We were offered a coupon for free drinks but the stuff at the bar told us that they don’t know what this coupon is. The room was dirty to the point that even the toilet was never cleaned after the previous guests. Actually it is dirty all over the hotel at all the facilities. The next morning we rushed from the hotel elsewhere though we were even refused to be helped with the luggage upon check out

Nonetheless the staff is not very well informed since I was told the spa was closed at the reception while another staff member told me it was actually open. I called and it was indeed open.

Perfekte Lage zwischen eigenem Strand und mehreren hervorragenden einheimischen Bars und Restaurants unmittelbar außerhalb der Hotelanlage. Das Hotel hat eigenen Jet-Ski-Verleih ! Am Strand bei einem der Nachbarhotels kann man Rundflüge mit einem Ultra-Leichtflugzeug (Pilot 1 Passagier) buchen, zB 30min € 100.-.
Generell kein Auto notwendig, es gibt einfach nicht wirklich etwas zu erkunden. Mit einem Boot kann man auch kleine, einsame Strände anfahren.
Strände gibt es eigentlich nur im Süden und tw. Osten der Hauptinsel.
Für Wanderer soll es sehr schöne Wege geben.

Great buffet breakfast and grounds. It would be better if more employees understood english. The bar didn’t have a printed drink menu, making it awkward to order. Workout room was nice , but both treadmills needed service. Calling a taxi was clumsy and time consuming. The beach is pretty, but just OK. It has some rocks and sea grass on the floor once you get to a depth of about 4 feet. Very nice room. The pizza shack out by the beach is great. The marina is a short taxi ride away and offers some nice lively food choices along with nightlife. Water sports and a local seaplane sightseeing company is a plus. Attracts a nice family oriented crowd. Some good live musical entertainment on most days.

The yard was nice. The overall look nice even though too dark for me the lobby etc .rooms spacious... breakfast are nice. Breakfast good ... bathroom had huge ants from the minute we entered. Also has a roach. And 2 spiders in the curtains ...most staff was very nice. Except one big last at the breakfast area who was making the eggs and one other who was a waitress....also 3 times in the6 days stay they knocked real hard on the door in the afternoon and before who could open they were already inside. IMPOSSIBLE for such s high priced motel not to have a sign outside.. whether not to be disturbed...or ok to clean ...How is this possible????

Great place to experience Guadeloupe!

Very nice property with extensive pool area, sweet beach, restaurant serving three buffets a day, and music on many nights. For the most part, the staff spoke English, which was very helpful for a U.S. visitor. Ingrid at the Reception was a standout in her assistance to me. The area doesn't have much to offer, but with so much to do at the resort, it didn't matter. And it was easy to explore the island from the property with several rental car agencies next door. Only complaint I have is the poor sound proofing between rooms. I could hear all activity in the room next door, from snoring to the TV, etc. I had none of the experiences others complained about. My room overlooked a tree-filled courtyard (which gave privacy) and the New Orleans french-style balcony was perfect for taking in the night air. The bar area was beautiful and the music was great for dancing with a big crowd Friday and Saturday. Would stay here again!

Property is very clean. The stuff cleaning from early morning to the night. But the beach is not so useable. The water is everywhere up to the knees, a lot of the rocks and seagrass. No swiming. Thr pool is very good.
Have to have an euro money.
There is just one small boutique.

I want to say that cleaning staff and waiters were all wonderful and nice. The BIG problem we had was with the more senior staff who were at times downright hostile. An example: my wife and two daughters wanted lunch and I told the woman at the check-in that I want going to eat but would sit with my family. She told me I had to wait outside while they ate. I eventually convinced her to let me sit wih them at their table for 4.... I had this type of experience all too often . This was at the massive buffet restaurant.

The property, pool, and beach was well kept and beautiful. My room was nice. But was disappointed with the way the bathroom was maintained. Depending on who was cleaning my room, some days the shower was cleaned properly but some days, nothing was done, just the towels were changed. Also, had an infestation of large ants on day two of being at the place. The overnight staff appeared overworked or stressed, making it hard for them to be pleasant to English speaking guest.
Overall, I had a great time in Guadeloupe.

Rooms and grounds are lovely, clean, no mold or cigarette smell in my non-smoking room. Food was good and plentiful, especially at Zwagat, which I much recommend. Beach was ok, better ones are walking distance away. No reef. No fish. Lots of iguanas, which was interesting. Expensive breakfast and buffet. Get much cheaper and better food a short walk away in town. Unhelpful staff - hard to get coffee refills, asked concierge for help for an activity two days away, but we never got the information requested, concierge did not book correct bookings at first and needed to be corrected. I am sure some of this is due to our inability to speak French, and that it was challenging dealing with a family of eight people. But even then, at check in there was a mixup with booking using an online app and they didn’t accommodate the guests at all, just made us pay more. They refused to give me the room I booked. I booked two beds so my nieces can come to my room and not be in their parents’ room some nights, but they insisted I have one bed because I am one person. Someone else’s bags were placed in my room. Elevator was broken and I had to walk five flights for two days. No apology, no accommodation. Just very expensive room. Won’t be back, but love Guadeloupe and hope to return.

My first room didn't have a shower and overlooked garbage. I couldn't believe it. The hotel had a bathtub with a hand spray and no hook to hang it. Then the hotel gave me a wheelchair accessible room with low counters. A third room had a broken a/c that leaked water all over the floor and little ants. The manager of the hotel Alex evades guests with issues. Do not stay here.

The staff was very kind and the room was ok, but clean with a nice view of the ocean. Surprised how large the hotel was. Good pool and decent beach for a swim after day-long excursions. Several of restaurants in walking distance.

We hoped the experience would be great but the check in process was a nightmare. We booked a room with two double beds and were given a room with a king bed with no mention of the change. We came back to the desk to ask for the correc bed type and then were given an alredy occupied room. I was told I needed to change before coming to breakfast but there was no sign to say my cover up skirt wasnt appropriate. I was also told a few minutes before breakfast clsoed and offered no flexibilty to enter even a minute late after going to change. Overall, the staff was rude and unhelpful. I understand the language barrier but would have loved if people were more willing to help or explain policies/amenities or room adjustments. The experience was dissapointing and I would not stay again. The facilities and rooms were ok but the service is what made the experience one of the worst I've ever had at a hotel.

Beautiful locations on the beach!

Overall we had a great stay at La Creole! The people of the hotel were always smiling, welcoming and ready to help. Room with balconies aren't really full balconies, just enough room to stand outside the sliding doors. Meals were good, especially the Zawag, a la carte restaurant but the options are limited between this and the buffet at night. There are, however, a few casual restaurants on the street a few minute walk away from the hotel. Wi-fi worked fine for us, even for streaming live video content.

It’s a sprawling resort with multiple buildings, restaurants, and terraces. There is a big pool and a small but very pretty beach. The bar next to the pool is large and very pleasant, and they have often live music. The breakfast in the morning is massive with many different buffets. The staff is very polite and friendly. It’s primarily used by French tourists, I did not eat dinner at the hotel because there are lots of little restaurants nearby with delicious creole food, though the wait time to get your food after you order it is over an hour!!

Our stay at La Creole Beach Hotel and Spa exceeded all expectations. Ingrid provided amazing service at check- in and that level of satisfaction was maintained throughout our stay. Our room was upgraded, was kept immaculate and we were provided the finest amenities. The pool, surrounding grounds, and the beach were beautiful and also immaculately maintained. There was more than adequate lounge chairs at the pool and at the beach. The included breakfast was opulent. The French pastries and bread were delicious. We enjoyed two dinners at the hotel. Both were a buffet. There is a wide selection of freshly prepared foods including incredible fish, chicken, and salads. The chocolate and rum raisin ice cream is to die for. I am looking forward to returning. Avery romantic, relaxing, stress free vaciton.
