The property is beautifully designed with its gardens and trails throughout. Our casita was nice and spacious. Cleanliness is definitely an issue around the property. People just dump their garbage everywhere along the beach, very sad. The beaches were gorgeous otherwise but it's good to know that the water, despite its serene color on pictures is quite murkey and there's nothing to see if you like snorkeling. The snorkel reefs are about a 1.5-2h boat ride away. We were a bit disappointed upon arrival when we were charged a very high rate for getting picked up at the ferry about 25 min away, which was not mentioned to us. We also thought the restaurant and dining experience was not as serene as advertised in the photos, many tables are plastic folding tables and basic plastic chairs which kinda killed the ambiance. The food was delicious though, we enjoyed their breakfast and dinner options. Most staff was pretty friendly and helpful.

Yes, we had 9A. The ocean view from our unit was incredible. The pool I used once, I enjoyed the beach and ocean waters more. Your staff and people working on the grounds are some of the most kind, hardworking people I've met. We felt very welcomed and all our needs & wants were met with cheerfulness, and smiles. This morning I have already been recommending my co-workers travel and book with you! Thank you for a wonderful week!! It was exactly what I was looking for and needed! We will be back for sure!

Yes, the staff was good and friendly, the Cabana had everything you could wish for. Amenities good, even a washer and dryer. Including soap in case you would have forgotten that.

Great beach area and nice pool. Cabana was in pretty good shape but needed a little work. Microwave was dead. Restaurant service was slow, but food was decent. Food prices were reasonable, but major shock when we were billed $25 BZD each for a glass of fresh juice (was not on the menu) - more than our breakfast.

The property was beautiful, quiet and peaceful. The casita was very spacious and comfortable. The restaurant had lots of options and a full bar. The location of the resort was such that the water was calm and accessible, even when the water in nearby corozal was very rough and choppy. If you are looking for nightlife, shopping and other activities this isn’t your place but if you want peace and relaxation then I would recommend staying here.

We had such a wonderful stay at Orchid Bay! David and his beautiful staff are always there to help, and accommodated us when we needed special care. Their generosity was outstanding. The only thing I feel needs to be updated is upon booking, it states 'all inclusive'. There is only an option for this as a special offer (see website). The restaurant has more than ample delicious and variety of foods. We have special diets, and were able to eat lots of items. The people who work at Orchid Bay are absolutely brilliant, and when we return to Belize, we will absolutely stay here again. The casitas are clean, and supplied with towels etc. It felt like a second home. We had a wonderful stay.

Great staff. Good food. Overall a fun place to visit. It seems like a Florida development that didn't take off. If you stay at the casitas (Walked the semi built lots adjacent & was a bit sad), it'll be great for a couple days. Ours was bigger than expected, but a couple dead lights & loose shower tiles get noticed after the first day. Highly recommend for two days, but not much more (and not sure about the all inclusive despite only the one restaurant) Really a great & so so place. Kayaking was great. People were great. Room was great. Limited beach & activity: not so great.

My husband and I very much enjoyed our stay at Orchid Bay resort! With the brand new road that has opened, the process for arriving at Orchid Bay has been streamlined. It was only about an hour and a half to two-hour drive from the Belize City airport. The landscaping, flowers trees, and other flora on the resort property are absolutely gorgeous! The beachfront casita that we stayed in was Impeccably clean and well appointed. The restaurant on the property is casual and laid-back and has excellent food for every meal! You will definitely want to order the shrimp ceviche! I even enjoyed the custom iced coffee they made for me one afternoon. The excursions the resort offers are amazing! We did a day of snorkeling, and then also a three-hour sunset cruise to the nearby Maya ruins and up the New River. We both felt like it was an excellent value. I would definitely stay here again.

BEWARE!!! TOURIST TRAP!! Upon entry, there is a sign stating that you cannot bring outside food or drinks on the property. The place is in the middle of nowhere! It took over 2 1/2 hours to get there! How do you not pick up a drink or snack? THIS WAS NOT LISTED ON THE WEBSITE OR EXPEDIA. The room should have had a queen bed, 2 twins and a futon. The room had a queen bed, a futon with no blanket, and a dusty alcove where the beds should have been. EXPEDIA's site said there would be a dryer. Instead it was just a closet with mops and brooms.

They have signs up stating that being rude or unruly will not be tolerated. It seems like people have become upset with them before, so I was hesitant to say anything face to face. They also have you write your credit card info on a piece of paper. I've had my info stolen that way before.

A lady showed us the casita, but when I went back to the bar/restaurant/check in area to let them know the remote control needed new batteries. The lady said I forgot to tell you the bedroom TV didn't work. Then the other lady chimed in and said there is no cable. None of this was listed on EXPEDIA or their website. There were no concessions made. They just kept nonchalantly cracking open beers, drinking and eating chips.

The nachos and shrimp were overpriced. The shrimp was popcorn shrimp from a box with 15 fries.

This property looks amazing in the posted photos but it’s not even close. Firstly it is so remote, you have to drive a very long dirt road full of potholes and take 2 crank across ferries ( that are falling apart ) to get there . The front desk is a table set up in the bar. The staff are very slow to help with anything. We ordered a large plate of fries and it took almost an hour to get them and there were about 20 fries on the plate for about 15 dollars.
We paid extra to have a beach view and our view was a bit of water through a dense mangrove . The tvs did not work, the microwave oven did not work, the ceiling fan in the bedroom was extremely noisy, the towels and sheets had holes and we had a family of ants living in the kitchen. There was no offer of help brining our bags in and very vague overview of the resort facilities upon check in.
This is supposed to be a secure , gated resort but they allow anyone to come in. We wanted to relax on the beach for a few days but all of the beach chairs, tables and palapas were taken by non guests . Thankfully we were able to cut our stay here short and go to a better place. I would not recommend staying here .

Orchid Bay is a wonderful place to relax or have a busy fun filled vacation! The staff makes it so easy to fit the trip to your expectations and there is a lot to see and do!
The natural beauty is amazing, with the aqua sea at you front door, The restaurant food was delicious The Casitas as they call the rooms are wonderful suites with everything you might need. To sum it up very nice amenities and just classy enough!

This is an ex-pat retirement community, not a resort. There is only one restaurant with pretty limited food options. The water is warm and we had the beach to ourselves. We had an enjoyable time but it wasn't what we were expecting.

The people who live there made it fun. Everyone wss very friendly and welcoming. Our cabana was beautiful and well appointed if we coukd have stayed longer. I'ts a growing community so i doubt i woukd purchase here but I'ts wonderful to visit on your way North. The drinks and food were pricey for what you got and the service (except the girl who worked breakfast) was slow and not so fun. We would stay again based on location but would eat and drink elsewhere.

We had two rooms that were exceptional. Very nicely appointed. The only restaurant remotely close to the rooms was an open air bar / dining. Not great. The beach is mostly gone. It looked like it had at one time been trucked in. The entire country looks to be massively depressed getting to the resort was an adventure in its self the roads are abysmal.

Beautiful resort. Our room was fully equipped. We had a nice screened porch which added to our pleasure. Clean, comfortable, quiet, right on the beach.

No place like home, but pretty close

If you are looking to get away from home but still have all the amenities of home this place might be for you. Our cabana was very clean and spacious. It is almost impossible not to relax here. The resort itself is at the end of a long road away from 'civilization' or a boat ride from Corozal. After ten days of traveling around Belize it was nice to have a place that basically felt as close to home as possible. also has beautiful gardens with lots of orchids varieties
The one and only restaurant in the property had good affordable food for all meals. Tuesday is soup night and all the people staying at the resort come to chat over a nice bowl of soup. Had a beautiful calm bay with white sand that is shallow for hundreds of feet from shore. Only thing I didn't like was that the televisions could o my play dvds from the resorts collection unless you bring your own smart device with an HDMI cable.

The property is beautiful and the staff was amazing. The only issue we had was that the resort is very remote. Its a very bumpy 45 minute ride on a dirt road to Corazul which is where grocery shopping etc is. David the resort manager is very caring and on top of everything. He organizes tours for the guests for whatever you want to do (ruins, snorkeling, caving). Getting to these attractions, however, is at least 2 hours from Orchid Bay. If your looking for a beautiful, peaceful resort... this is the one!

No fue una buena experiencia, para empezar no te advierten lo complicado del camino. Las áreas comunes son muy básicas, una alberca muy pequeña y el fin de semana que estuvimos, hubo un evento para la comunidad dentro del hotel ocasionado que no hubiera espacio en la alberca, el mobiliario estuviera ocupado por gente externa al hotel, mucho ruido y consumo de alcohol lo cual no fue agradable puesto que íbamos con niños. Las habitaciones muy parecidas a las fotos pero les falta mantenimiento y limpieza para mi gusto (las sabanas estaban desgarradas).
El restaurante es pequeño y al mismo tiempo es la recepción, con un menú muy limitado que se agotó al haber tanta gente sin otra opción accesible para comer o cenar. La “playa” es piedrosa y fangosa.
Decidimos salir una noche antes y expliqué las razones en la recepción acordando que harían el reembolso de la noche no utilizada y hasta el momento NO HAN CUMPLIDO.
Realmente no corresponde al nivel de 4 estrellas con el que se promueven y deja mucho que desear.

Excelente para desconectarte del mundo. Demasiado lejos de cualquier otro punto de interés. Hay que viajar casi dos horas por caminos tortuosos para poder llegar al supermercado más cercano. Asegúrate llevar absolutamente TODO lo necesario para no tener que salir. A dos horas por vía terrestre del aeropuerto de ciudad Belice.
