This hotel is definitely not a 4 stars. It’s actually quite mediocre. Here are several observations, related to a single night stay.
1. The air conditioning is our suite was basically non effective.
2. The shower stream was very weak, and its structure was beat up and unclean.
3. The room itself was worn out, all be it clean.
4. When we complained about the AC and the shower, they sent someone. But when we told the lady at reception that these two problems were still ongoing, she gave us a dirty look and replied: “well, I already sent someone.
5. There was a written notice on the walls saying that they apologized in advance for the fact that there would be renovation works between 10:30 am and 6:00 pm. However, major repairs started at 9:32 am, with sounds of electric drills, hammers and electric saw…
6. Then, one a little detail, but that speaks volumes about the lack of quality of this hotel: the hand soap in the bathroom was tiny and very thin… The type of soaps one would find in cheap motels…

My room was not supplied with coffee and water for 2 days. I called service on 1st day, to give me a small packet of coffee, 'cuz I really was tired and felt like drinking coffee and said she will call reception. No coffee and water for 2 days. But some Gate 1 people told me that they have, even 4 bottles of water. I guess the person in charge of my room isn't fair to everyone.

The locations is good. But the pictures on the website is very misleading. No golf space, no facilities. the reception manager’s attitude is very poor, the gentleman has no smile at all, very froid. it’s an expensive hotel mainly for French/foreigners, the value is not high. The bed is too soft, telephone is broken but still in use… However, Breakfast is great , many choices.

Think twice before booking

We booked this hotel for a staycation, we stayed 1hour then we left home, we couldn’t stay too dirty. The concierge was really nice and polite. But what can I say about the room, dirty, stinky, need some upgrades and the bathroom was rusted. I’m sharing some pictures but I can’t share the smell. We just left didn’t even bother to ask for refund we even paid the local fee.
It’s the perfect place for people that need to hide…

The hotel is good, but I found the Air conditioning a problem as it wasn't very good, they did offer another room but it's the same aircondining system throughout the hotel. We ended up switching hotels as my son has eczema.

Very quick trip of less than 24 hours for meetings in Rabat. The staff was nice, the food was good and the room was clean. The restaurant in particular was beautiful. I found the lobby was a bit run down and dark. That should be your next project for renovation.

Every person there was nice and courteous. Location is in the middle of town, tram stop and cafes/restaurants two blocks away and supermarket 3 blocks away. Hotel is clean and has wifi,ac and 24 hours room service. Will be returning there.

Nice front desk, was very accommodating regarding payment method, perfect english. Not a fan of smoking in the lobby or in the bar, but I guess that is what is acceptable. Rooms were smokefree which was nice. Wifi was good, breakfast was good with lots of selections, and a decent walking distance to the Medina, and Hassan Tower. Would stay there again.

For half the price it would he worth it

Not worth the money.very expensive for what you get.advertising it as part of sofitel was very very misleading.they charge almost as much as sofitel however it lacks everything sofitel offers.I stayed at tafilalt which is half it's price but double the luxury !!!stay away from this hotel at this price. I think it is worth $50-70 a night , $70 is pushing it !!

The address online is NOT correct be warned, the actual hotel is 5 minutes away then on Google maps. The hotel was nice for the price. The TV only had 2 English channels. Taxi to the airport was $20 USD which is crazy because the airport is 10 minutes away, complete rip off there.

This hotel is definitely worth every penny you spend. I got the room with half board so had free breakfast and either lunch/dinner every day. The food is good and the deal is unbeatable. What makes this hotel especially great are his staff. They're all super friendly and go out of their way to greet you and make sure you're having a great time, not only in this hotel, but also in Morocco. They are all bilingual or even trilingual and super super nice. Noura was very helpful as she recommended to me a nearby hammam to have a Moroccan experience. I would definitely come again. Well earned, 5 stars!

Favorite Rabat hotel

The Diwan is a fine hotel -- my favorite in Rabat. I was generously upgraded to a suite, which was quiet, roomy and very comfortable Reception and Brasserie staff were friendly and professional. My one suggestion where the hotel could improve service is to offer stronger and faster in-room wifi. Internet access, especially in the evening was patchy and slow.

This is a very pleasant, comfortable hotel in a convenient neighborhood of Rabat. The room was spacious with a great bed, and the Brasserie restaurant offered delicious food with live entertainment. Of the 3 hotels I've visited this year in Rabat, Diwan is by far the best.

Staff were very helpful when myself and my friend asked them questions. Nice bar area to relax in and a good singer/pianists on some evenings. Breakfast was a good selection of cooked food, cereals and fruit. Modern and clean rooms.

The only issue I had with this hotel is the \"non-smoking room\" I was in smelled strongly of cigarette smoke, and had an ashtray in the room. I think this is just Morocco though, as all restaurants in the area also reek of smoke. The hotel itself was great in other respects.

The location was good and the hotel a good quality standard western hotel. The staff were great, friendly and very helpful. The Brasserie was a bit expensive, but as it turned out some of the best food we had in Morocco and fairly priced for the location. The breakfast buffet was good value compared with other places we stayed.

We had a lovely experience staying at Le Diwan Rabat. The service was superb, particularly the front desk and bell hops. The room was large and well-furnished and had all you needed to be comfortable, i.e. good toiletries, bathrobes, plenty of towels, comimentary water bottles. We were traveling with our 18-month-old, and the requested baby crib/cot was set up in the room before we checked in.

The dining room was terrible. We arrived later in the evening but the front desk told us the dining room was open until 11 pm. We went down at 10:30 pm and they refused to seat us, claiming it was too late. We had to argue to get a seat and then after studying the menu and making our selections, we were told that none of our seafood selections was possible because they had no seafood. A terrible start to our stay. We never ate at the hotel again. The hotel was quite nice otherwise. A nice touch was putting a fresh rose in the bathroom, and then the second day when they changed it, we found the petals nicely arranged on the bed. Surprisingly gracious touch. So, the hotel is fine but we recommend against its restaurant.

Hotel is nice and comfortable and staff helpful. I had one problem with noise one night and this was dealt with. Otherwise room is nice, bathrooms commodious, balconey and good TV. Bed is very comfortable. Prices reasonable except the breakfast didn't give good value but other wise good.

Great location. Staff we helpful and nice. Good food at restaurant. Free wifi. The room could use more hangers, wash cloths, and a tv remotes that works. Tall people will bump their knees on the bidet which is only inches across from the toilet.

Le Diwan - Rose Petals and a Wonderful Staff!

This was an absolutely wonderful experience. Stayed at Le Diwan for 8 nights. Every day we had rose petals placed somewhere in the room. The staff was just wonderful, helpful and accomodating. The restaurant had excellent \"real\" Moroccan food. The bar was great and when we had \"trouble\" with other patrons thinking we needed company, the staff set the expectation that we did not need more friends. Two women travelling in Rabat...we were never led astray and all the advice was worth listening to. When I go back to Rabat (and I will) I will definitely stay at Le Diwan again. Thank you to everyone there for making our stay memorable and amazing!

We travel a great deal and are frequent gusts at Accor hotels, Hilton, SPG, and etc.. We speak French fluently, and have visited Morocco several times, but the staff seemed oblivious when we spoke to them, even in casual conversation. The service at breakfast was some of the worst we've experienced, even thought the manager tried to make up for if, she couldn't pull up the slack. The service in the Bar on the ground floor was also poor. Parking is bad on this VERY congested corner. Overall, we wouldn't return or recommend it to others unless we have no other option. I think the poor management starts at the top, based on my observations of his efforts.

Great business option in Rabat

We liked this hotel quite a bit, a good business and tourist option. The location is very convenient, we actually walked from the station with our luggage after the taxi driver quoted a ridiculous price (it is a 20 minute walk though, so plan accordingly if you have a lot of luggage). You can walk to the Hassan Tour, which we could see from our window, in 15 - 20 minutes. The breakfast was very nice if a bit pricey; the restaurant in the hotel didn't impress, but maybe it was because it was New Year's Eve, and quite possibly the French fare wasn't really what we should've attempted after 2 weeks of eating delicious food all over Morocco.

I spent much time at the Sofitel: the rooms are modern, clean and well-maintained, the staff courteous and helpful. There are not many hotels in Rabat that compare if you're looking for somewhere reliably clean, modern, and with somewhat of a bar scene. I will go back.
