It was a good 3-star hotel. Although some common areas have been renovated, the rooms have an old-fashioned design (we stayed on the 3rd floor). The rooms were clean but small, and there was not enough space to open two suitcases at the same time.
The only negative part was the showers that made the whole bathroom wet. They probably had a cheap contractor for that!
The staff were very polite, the internet speed was good, and it was quiet in a peaceful neighborhood.

The location was very convenient. It was right beside the metro station, with access to the red and blue lines. We got to Kadikoy in less than 15 minutes with it. You also can get to Sabiha airport by metro, but it took us an hour to get to Istanbul airport.
You can walk 10 minutes to Migros grocery store, 5 minutes to a dry cleaner, or 15 minutes to the City shopping center.

During our stay staff was amazing and friendly. They were able to accommodate any requests we made. We had an item missing and the managemt was able to find it and deliver it to us after a week we checked out. The staff was honest Mr.Fatih was very helpful. Great breaksfast as well.

Very beautiful hotel. Equipped with everything you need. Excellent front desk and services. We stayed 7 nights. Restaurants on premise. We parked car. Valet parking. Only issue we had was internet :( room or hotel internet neither worked very well. Otherwise excellent!

This is absolutely not a 5* hotel. The furniture has aged with even cabinet paints peeling. Large stains on the carpet in hallways. Dirty and old elevators. My room had a very bad sewer smell coming out of the grid in the bath room. I sealed it using a plastic bag. The next day the hotel management said it's the case in every room when the southerly winds blow (which is not uncommon in Turkey). My room did not a have safe and I asked the management to get one installed. Staff was very helpful but they can't save the overall hotel experience. The gym was surprisingly nice as I believe it was a third party managing it and they accept customers from outside which explains. As I observed, the rate is fluctuating wildly for some reason. I wouldn't recommend this hotel unless a very good deal is offered for the rate which was the case for me.

I had a very pleasant experience.
The staff is friendly and very helpful.
Just a couple of example: helping to find a tour guide in short notice, offering umbrella in a rainy day, or if you need eye mask for sleeping they will help you out.
Due Covid-19 measures the room cleaning happens when you leave your room and it's done every 3 days but also can be requested more often if needed. The Hotel will accommodate you. The room will be refilled every day (bottled water, sugar, coffee/tea, paper cups).
The Hotel's location is perfect as well: McDonald's, Mall, Subway/Bus, Starbuck's is in 5 min walk distance, and lot's of restaurants and grocery stores around to choose from.
I had a great experience, and would definitely go back again or advise it to anyone to stay there. :)

My Mom and I stayed here for family reunion. We could not picked a better place for the quality of the service and cleanliness we received. the hotel is in a great location which was very important for our safety. Awful stay at a supposedly 5 star hotel

The hotel has no right to be a 5 star hotel. The workmanship with in the rooms was poor quality, every single time we asked a member of staff for something they said no, these included spare towels, ear plugs, laundry, posting a letter. It is not the staffs fault, but training is awful, no one says hello when you walk into the hotel or leave, it feels like you are entering a bank, not a supposedly 5 star hotel. Would avoid at all costs. Location is awful, everything around the hotel is bad. Only positive is it is near the metro so can get far away from it. Also the walls are very thin, I could hear my neighbour snoring the whole night.

Very close to metro station giving access to Asian side of Istanbul.
Had to request tea and coffee after this was left out after room servicing. Breakfast is very nice and something for everyone.

The stay was just fine up until the last moments of checkout and departure.

The checkout was colored by a small rip off for 40 Turkish lira instead of 20 for a room bar, which didn’t worth mentioning if it not what was followed.

Upon the departure, a member of staff proposed to use the hotel’s airport transfer (which is 50% more expensive than the regular yellow taxi service fare, BTW). The problem is that after waiting for 15 minutes, the staff member said that they could not offer the transfer and calling the regular service instead. After another 10 minutes of waiting for a car, I had to use Uber (which is just a proxy for regular taxi services in Turkey), which solved the issue in three (sic!) minutes.

Wi-fi quality is another lousy joke of a 5-star hotel of 21 century.

Unpleasant stroke to overall magnificently spent time in the colorful country.

Booked this hotel as per rating and the statement that its a 5star hotel but in my opinion its no more than 3 star. Room and furniture are dared. Mattress was broken with springs poking out. They could not change it the first night when I complained saying that it was too late. I slept on the floor as it hurt my back. Second night it was changed with another one that was a bit better but not comfortable by any means. No apologies from the hotel. Will not stay there again

The hotel had management during the day who were helpful, but during the evening management was very rude and did not help. Edwards cafe was amazing! Service was good, but other than that would not consider this a 5 star hotel, I have been treated better in 3/4 stars. Wifi connection was real bad, using google was a stuggle sometimes with such poor connection.

I cancelled a stay at a very nice property as i thought this would be a decent 5 star property. I was wrong. Staff are extremely rude. Electricity went out in my room for an hour, and there was no apology and had to wait in the room while it was being fixed by technicians so ruined my evening. This is more of a 3 star property rather than 5. Swimming pool was ‘free’ to use, but must buy a 15 lira swimming cap to do so...

The receptionist staff don’t speak English all that well.
I was forced to pay for a shuttle service from the airport to the hotel without using them.
I looked for them when we landed at the airport but couldn’t find them, had to use another service to get the hotel.
Housekeepers did not provide coffee cups or the complementary water bottle on a regular basis.

More like a 3.5 star motel with terrible staff.

-Airport shuttle taxi didn’t appear despite me scouring arrivals for a sign/placard to indicate association with the hotel. Taxi ended up costing me an additional £30. Staff refused to acknowledge their poor service and didn’t offer a return taxi on check-out.
-Hotel staff have a clear barrier of understanding when it comes to English.
-Rooms are much smaller than they appear in pictures, very little space to walk around in/store luggage. There was also a clear stench of cannabis & smoke every time we returned (following cleaning), if this was smoke seeping in from another person’s room remains to be known. Bathroom toilet was leaking all over the floor every time it was flushed. Air conditioning in room didn’t work. Despite notifying staff on several occasions on all these issues, they failed to rectify them, making the room unbearable to stay in.
-Overall location of hotel is terrible for Istanbul. To get to the places of attraction, it will take you on average 1 hour by metro/train, and 30 minutes (without traffic) by taxi. Being closer to the European side will save you significant amounts on both travel costs and time.
-Cleaning staff continuously knock on door at 8am in the morning and will then return at 10am to repeat the same thing, despite telling them not to.
-Buffet breakfast at 49 Liras, whilst seems cheap for a hotel, tastes horrid – pastries are dry, cheeses smelt off, meat platter was tasteless, and overall lack of hygiene can be visibly seen.

A good hotel, giving lower rating for one reason

This was my second stay at Byotell. They have an amazing breakfast and nice clean rooms, smiling staff. helped pack a nice breakfast even when we checked out at 6:30 AM in the morning. The only thing that i found was a rip off was that when i booked 2 single rooms for my colleague and myself, the hotels.com voucher said \"Free Spa for 2\", which I presumed meant a spa treatment for each of us. But it just meant that we could use their pool and gym. Thankfully I checked at the time of check-in so i did not book a treatment, but my colleague ended up paying for the treatment. I think the voucher is misleading and should not be promoted. I was also told by my local colleague that Byotell offers free aiprot pick up and drop-off for more than 3 nights stay and we stayed for 5 nights each. hence, that could be offered maybe? We booked our own taxis.

Not sure if this is a problem with the hotel / the website.

Had an amazing time at this hotel. We arrived at 9am and they allowed us to check-in straightaway and on last day allowed us to check out at 2pm at no extra charge. Nothing was too much hassle for them. If I have to pick a negative, the kids pool was at 28degrees which is a little on the cold side for younger children, otherwise perfect

They cheated me completely. Had booked a hotel close to Ataturk airport for my last night flying out of Istanbul. This hotel is no where close to Ataturk airport and they did not help me either cancel the reservation or put me up in another hotel close to the Istanbul airport.
I called Expedia twice and they spoke to the Otel but the hotel did not accommodate at all.
I truly believe the ad on Expedia is cheating a customer by saying it is close to Ataturk airport. It is close to some other airport, so this was a blatant lie.
I WANT MY MONEY REIMBURSED AS I DID NOT USE THE HOTEL AND HAD TO BOOK ANOTHER HOTEL CLOSE TO THE AIPORT LAST MINUTE AT A MUCH HIGHER PRICE.
MY VERY FIRST BAD EXPERIENCE ON EXPEDIA!!!!!!!

The hotel was very nice and mcdonalds is opposite.
The room was nice and comfortable.
Staff was okay, but could barely speak english.
The issue i had was that i was relaxing in my room and i got two phone calls asking if everything was fine,and i said yes and they said apparently the emergency panic button was pressed in the room which i didnt. The deputy manager then came up with another staff member to check if everything was fine,which it was. I asked the deputy manager what was the issue but he just ignored me and started talking to the other guy in his language, i thought this was very rude!

Overall i liked the hotel design, comfort and location. Improvements should be to train staff to speak english.

He hotel is staffed by very nice and professional people. The overall amenities are very good and they have an outstanding breakfast. I did not venture around the neiborhood other than the area around the waterfront, but it is definitely worth the small cab fare, although we walked and enjoyed it very much. It was surprisingly trendy and offered both down to earth and upscale places to shop and eat. It is not ulra congested and urban loke the rest of istanbul. A very clean neighborhood and very walkable (toward the waterfront).

Tidy little room with a window about 500mm wide.

I understand that there are small poky rooms around but the room I got was not what was advertised via photos. 950 TL for a taxi to get there from Ataturk and 10 lanes of congestion in the morning to get back to the airport. Forget about it. Better off staying at the airport hotel.

The hotel was very nice, had good facilities and a nice restaurant, the hotel is closer to SAW than IST so worth bearing in mind for transport to and from the airports. The staff were very friendly and helpful and always someone on hand who could speak English so no issues on this front. I would fully recommend this hotel to others, the only note i would add although it made no difference to us, is to note somewhere that it is a 'dry' hotel as this may make a difference to some.
