I wish they had a gym.
Also I hope they were more flexible about modifying the reservation without charging with extra fess. I made a trip package reservation, but my departure time was picked
as my checking-in date instead of my arrival date. I ended up with paying for extra night before my arrival time. I explained the whole story, but i did not get refund for my extra payment.

Great hotel in a perfect location. The only negative was the smell cominf from the bathroom. When i addressed this with reception in the morning I was told it is Izmir, i was confused as the day/eve begiee when i had walked around Izmir there was no drainage/sewer smell. For this reason, i wouldnt return.

The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was large and very clean and the bathroom was modern and had a fabulous shower. It would have been nice to have English language channels on the TV (besides CNN) especially as a sole female traveller who spent evenings in her room. The breakfasts were included in the price and were ok. The hotel location is on a main road but I had no disturbance with noise.

Whole hotel smells of cigarette smoke

I rarely leave reviews but this one was so bad I feel I should warn others. There are a handful of repeat complaints about this hotel like spotty WiFi and noisy rooms facing the road that are true but one thing you'll want to know about this hotel is that it REEKS of cigarette smoke on every floor and in the rooms, even though they claim it is \"non-smoking.\" I recognize most Turkish folks smoke but it's unacceptable to advertise rooms as \"non-smoking\" when they are absolutely smoking with the \"option not to smoke.\" I had to change rooms 2x and I just gave up the last time because she gave me a room where it's \"non-smoking but a little smoke.\" I had no idea what this meant but was so frustrated with the process and their lack of understanding that some people don't want to be encased in bedding and curtains and carpet that smell heavily of cigarette smoke that I just let them get away with it. Even the AC pumps cigarette smelling smoke and leaving the windows didn't help as there was zero breeze (plus if you leave your windows open at night you will definitely get woken up repeatedly by traffic at night). It was a terrible experience and the hotel staff seemed completely blaise about customer care. I called hotels.com to ask for a refund (I didn't sleep more than 2 hours at a time either night and had a headache in the mornings) and they called the hotel and the hotel denied they gave me a smoking room and hotels.com told me basically they can't do anything. Unacceptable

The staff was most hospitable, very welcoming and helpful. They upgraded us to a suite, and it was amazing. Huge, modern, and just wow! Large entryway, chic living room, big balcony with city view, and a private sauna. The breakfast was delicious. If you are driving, it's a little difficult, but valet parking is free. I would definitively recommend this hotel to everyone.

Good room, BUT....

There were issues with our stay here. The appearance is lovely and the rooms are updated and clean. The staff was friendly and helpful. However, our room was very warm when we arrived after a long day of travel. We turned on the AC, but it never seemed to be able to cool the room adequately. I reached for a cold drink from the mini bar, but everything in it was warm. This could be because the power will not run in the room without the occupant putting their key card in the \"slot.\" A mini bar should be an exception to this practice. We brought this to the attention of the staff and they pointed out that there were also cold drinks available in the lobby. By the next morning, our room had not cooled much at all. We believe the AC was not capable adequately cooling the room since adjusting the thermostat did not improve matters. We did not want to return again to a hot room, so we elected to forego housekeeping for one day by hanging the \"Do Not Disturb\" sign out. Then we put a fake key card in the slot and left the AC running all day. When we returned, our room was still not very cool, but it was much better than it was our first night. In addition, we also found the lighting in the room and bathroom to be insufficient.

A solid choice for the price. I stayed for three nights. A very nice and comfortable boutique hotel. The room and showers are excellent. Breakfasts have a good tasty selection.
The staff are courteous.
Five mins walk to Basmane train/metro station for those using the metro to get into the city centre.
Parking very close by
Easy 15mins walk to Konak pier.
Supermarket next door.
Restaurants are within 30mins walking radius.
What is not to like?

Very convenient location

Nice, comfortable, clean hotel with very kind and helpful staff. I arrived Izmir coach station by Kamil Koc ( a coach company) and took their shuttle to Basmahane. The arrival point was literally within few minutes walking distance to the hotel. Havas bus stop to the airport is also within walking distance so is the Fuar Park.

Small but perfectly formed hotel in central Izmir

The room was spotless and had everything needed for a short stay. A special mention for the shower which was awesome :-) I'm easily pleased!
The hotel was quite small, with only a breakfast room/restaurant/bar and lobby on the ground floor with all other floors being guest rooms. No computer room or gym for example, if that's what you want in a hotel, I didn't so it was perfect.
The breakfast buffet was lovely and the server managed to be around when you needed her but didn't hover. Sounds easy to do, but I've always thought it quite a difficult skill to master.
Staff super helpful and very friendly.

When I arrived, I was promptly taken to my spacious room, shown everything. The room was clean, there was a bowl of complimentary fruits and bottles of water. The view was mediocre, but this is downtown Izmir, I suppose. Staff were helpful, and answered all of my questions. Breakfast was nice as well.

Cute hotel, very comfortable

Very clean, modern hotel. The shower is great, and the room was very comfortable. The only issue I had was that I was given a smoking room the first night, for some odd reason since I would never request such a thing. I only noticed this when I was already in bed at night and horrible smell of cigarets from the nearby rooms began to come into my room. They switched me to a non-smoking floor the next day. Breakfast was good with an option of eggs made to order. The location is ok, but most things around the hotel are shut down at night so if you walk back after dinner the neighborhood looks a little desolate. I have no idea if there are safety issues, I had personally had no problems in the area.

Perfect Hotel in Izmir close to Basame Railway St.

Enjoyed our stay here. The staff were very friendly and professional. The location is great if you want to take the train to Selcuk to see Ephesus as we did. The hotel is just 10 minutes walk from the Basame Railway station. Also walking distance to the other sights like the Konark Clock Tower + the Boardwalk on the Aegean Sea.

Fantastic Experience

I cannot rate this hotel highly enough - the welcome from the front desk., the comfort and cleanliness of the room, the friendliness of the cleaning staff in addition to the excellent breakfast suited to all tastes. In addition the front desk was most helpful with the provision of advice, train timetables and the printing of our boarding cards. The hotel is a 3 minute walk to the railway station where trains run to the international airport and Ephesus.

The Met Boutique Hotel is one of those white whales of travel - affordable, great service, well-located, extremely clean. Perhaps I just got a good off-season deal, but the value for money of my stay was extraordinary. 1) Free amenities: free drinking water, free wifi, breakfast, valet parking, etc. 2) Good decor and modern conveniences, including a rain shower which was a great change of pace from other places I'd been staying in Turkey. 3) Truly outstanding service: early-hours breakfast provided before an early morning departure and lots of little no-fuss acts of kindness

Wast blown away really !

Not sure the definition of a boutique hotel but this just reminded me of a slightly posher Premier Inn. Rooms all the same designs although slightly different layout. Restaurant menu wasn't anything special. Staff were friendly and helpful.
Nothing wrong with the hotel at all but really nothing outstanding about it either.

Great value, modern hotel

Pleasantly surprised at just how good this hotel was. Friendly reception staff, clean and modern room, and with the unexpected bonus of complimentary water and fruit on check-in. Breakfast was excellent too. Even though it's not in the greatest part of town, the waterfront bars and restaurants are an easy stroll away, making this hotel really good value.

Modern, quaint, comfortable hotel in Izmir

We stayed there overnight on our way to Ephesus. Although we arrived very late at night, staff was great and room was ready. Hotel is in city center near historical sites. For those visiting Efes (Ephesus), it is an hour away by car. Great breakfast!

My experiences with \"Boutique\" hotels are of older hotel buildings renovated with the latest styles, including fashionable furniture and fixtures. The Met Boutique Hotel in Izmir is certainly that and more. We were met with excellent front desk staff, parking valet, restaurant servers and all with good communication skills. The room was perfect and well appointed: clean, fully stocked and nicely furnished. The shower was incredible and a wonderful experience in getting clean! Big fluffy towels, slippers, shampoos and lotions, etc. plus a great laundry service. For a location in the centre of town, the sleeping experience was very quiet.

Nice in town boutique hotel

This tiny boutique hotel is quite lovely. It is in a good location in Izmir, with easy access to venues and sites. The staff is helpful, and the atmosphere is welcoming. The rooms are tiny, and the feeling of being in a converted office is present, especially when coming from the room from the elevator. This somehow lends to more charm! Breakfast is good, and the in hotel food acceptable. The non-English speaking staff were gracious as well. We stayed only two nights, but I would recommend this location for any length of stay.

WHAT YOU SEE IN THE PICTURES IS WHAT YOU GET

This hotel is the most friendliest hotel we have ever stayed in and we have been travelling for 20 years.
Nothing was to much trouble what lovely people.
The rooms are exaclty as in the pictures which is very unusual, tThe breakfast was also excellent ample choices.The hotel is spotlessley clean not a speck of dust to be seen. Everything looked brand new it was so clean. The hotel is only ten months old but you can tell if we went back in another year it would be the same.
They even offered to walk us to the service bus and take our cases for us 200 metres away. They also made some phone calls for us and changed our service bus return time.
They were even putting up a large xmas tree in the window as we arrived which was a nice touch.The staff from the porter and chambermaids to the manager were excellent what an example they set for other hotels. I honestley could not rate this hotel enough. TOP HOSPITALITY AT A BOTTOM PRICE!
Will definately be back and also recommend to all our friends. Thankyou met boutique for making our stay a pleasurable one.
