This property is the quintessential French countryside chateau with a castle. The grounds were impeccable. The staff were exceedingly attentive and helpful.

Paul was especially helpful to my family and I who were visiting Europe for the first time.

The rooms were pricy but it was during the Olympics. The rooms were similar to a motel 6, but the bed was very comfortable and the beauty of the property FAR outweighed the quality of the rooms.

The restaurant in the castle was magnificent!

Worth a second visit

Pleasant hotel but suffers from trying to be lots of things at once. Hotel, holiday gites, riding school, etc. The staff were pleasant and helpful if not very experienced. The restaurant concept was part self service, part served and not very relaxing or efficient. the food itself was OK. The room was comfortable and clean. They are still building and renovating (e.g. the pool) so worth a second try if en route.

The hotel is misrepresenting itself on the website. The building pictured is not where the rooms are based. I found the facilities outdated and nowhere near 4 star. It was more like 2 star so it is very overpriced.

Not a 4 star hotel. Its clearly still under refurbishment & shouldnt be allowing guests to stay as there's exposed wires hanging from the ceiling. Even though the rooms were complete they still had a very dated feel to them & very small. The main house & restaurant was manic adults & children serving themselves drinks from the bar & again very dated. The service is non existent in this part of the hotel. I asked the manager if the outside lights could be put on in the childrens play area as it was beginning to get dark & he advised me that all outside lights had to be switched off at 8pm? A real shame generally as the location is perfect for a stop off on route to Calais. The only positive experience was breakfast where the two staff serving were helpful & served good food.

I expected a proper double bed a queen at least.Two twin beds put together to make a double wasn’t as comfortable to sleep in the middle of it. The place was very quiet and beautiful. The staff were very helpful and caring. On the whole it was excellent! I fully recommend Novotel Chateaux de Maffliers.

We had a good stay at Novotel Chateau. It wasn’t above and beyond exceptional but there were no real problems with our stay. The only thing that was misleading is, from the photos, I thought we were staying I the actual chateau part. The hotel rooms are located in a separate building and the “chateau” hosts most of the amenities. It’s a short walk to get to the chateau. That was a little disappointing but still not a bad stay.

The hotel rooms were clean and tidy, reception staff were friendly and breakfasts were delicious. The restaurant staff were not helpful and not particularly friendly. The food was ok but overpriced. Tennis courts are a mess, unplayable. Pool is ok, changing rooms desperately need some tlc. The outdoor badminton and table tennis a bonus.

When we checked in the receptionist told us the room was only suitable for 2 adults (we had booked 3 adults & a child). After speaking to the manager she informed us that the room was suitable for 4! The sofa bed was extremely uncomfortable. We were supplied with one tea bag for a 3 night stay. The sauna wasn’t working & the food options in the restaurant were terrible. This showed as not one night did we see someone eat there. The only plus side was the room was clean

Very nice.

Clean comfortable rooms, very much a standard novotel. The chateau part is really only used for meeting space. Not too far from the airport with a car if you are looking for a place. Great breakfast.

Beautiful surroundings, budget hotel with a smile

We pre-booked this as a 2 night stop over on a french trip based on the photos of the hotel and the pool. The photos are very deceiving, the chateau is not used for rooms (resto, bar, room and functions) and the pool is no wider than 3 metres.

That said the reception staff were friendly, but ill-equipped for customers with allergies. On both days we had no gluten free bread, de-caf tea or lactose free milk. Restaurant food was ok but service slow.

Grounds of the hotel are beautiful and bikes are available to go exploring in the forest.

Fabulous Oasis - Perfect

This hotel was a lovely surprise. It was a late booking while we were heading North. It is in its own grounds, fantastic facilities for children (outside table tennis and badminton and pool table indoors as well as a small swimming pool), very clean comfortable modern air conditioned rooms. Really beautiful setting...very good value for money and I couldn’t recommend it highly enough.

Well worth it.

We only stayed for one night, it was clean and comfortable. The Chateau looks nice although I'm not sure that any of the rooms are in it. There seemed to be plenty of things to do there if we had stayed longer. We got a great deal on a family room with a very good breakfast included.

Super nice hotel, friendly atmosphere, fantastic value for money.

The hotel is super-nice, with quality staff, nice rooms, things to do at the hotel and in good distance from Paris.

As we drove to Paris, this hotel popped up as an option right outside Paris. It's located in a very green, landly area, but only 30-40 minutes from Paris in car. Public transportation didn't seem very available for this hotel so a car is recommended.

The check-in was easy, the room was very nice (2 adults, 2 kids). We arrived in the evening, and decided to use the facilities at the hotel the first night. The restaurant, located in the castle/mansion was very nice, and the pool was good, complete with a sauna.

Plenty of things like deck chairs, badminton, boccia and other things to do if you want.

The second day we had an issue with the room, and the staff promptly switched to us another room nearby. Bonuspoints for making this issue easy breezy solved.

Parking was plentiful and easy, the park area fantastic and relaxing to walk in.

WIFI was good and speedy, which makes travelling at lot easier these days when you need to book tickets, plan routes and days.

For the price, this hotel was a gem. Comes highly recommended, and if I ever go to Paris with a car again, this will be the place I want to stay at.

Nice family friendly hotel in a nice place

We had a good deal and stayed with a couple of friends. We all had an amazing time. My 5 year thoroughly enjoyed the place. Room was comfortable and clean, nice size pool and beautiful gardens & a nice play & rest area. The restaurant was great with good food. Most of all the staff were great and made us feel at home. Particularly the staff at the restaurant. I would recommend this place to anyone and would certainly come back again. Breakfast was included even though we thought it was not and the breakfast was really good too. I have nothing negative to say about this place..!

The hotel surroundings are beautiful, and it is located conveniently for access to the north of Paris, the areas of Chantilly as well as the Charles de Gaulle airport.

Staff were very friendly, and helpful, even to these non-French speaking foreigners :)

Facilities were great, including breakfast, restaurant and swimming pool. Watching the horses run in the paddocks below was also great to see.

Hotel itself could do with a little updating, but was very clean and comfortable enough.

Highly recommended.

Great hotel setting, a few things to improve

Overall a great hotel set in a beautiful park. Helpful staff. The swimming pool, sauna, table tennis, pool table and petanque games are 100m away at the Chateau Maffliers. All free. You can also borrow mountain bikes for free.
Rooms are quite modern. Just a few points:
- we had an executive room for a family of four and felt it was small
- the bathroom is far too small and access to it is awkward alongside the bed
- There is an odour issue in corridors (specially level 4). It could do with a carpet upgrade...
- Breakfast is good but the room is too small to cater the number of guests in this hotel. We felt a little cramped. They should make use of the restaurant in the chateau.

What no BBC or CNN

Overall our stay was very good. However, when i asked the receptionist why they had not one english speaking channel eg BBC News on the T.V she shrugged her shoulders and laughed. We had just stayed in Bordeaux and this was not a problem in the hotel there.

We were not told that even if you stayed at the hotel, you had to book a table in the restaurant. when the restaurant was busy, French people were seated first. The food was also very expensive and boil in the bag rubbish. The staff in the restaurant seemed to be constantly under pressure.

Lovely hotel, but you'll need a car.

This hotel is NOT in Paris. Nor is it 'close' to any form of public transport. It's in the middle of nowhere... Not a single taxi drive knew where it was (and I used several to get home late at night)...

Which is a crying shame, as the hotel itself is MARVELLOUS!! The rooms are small, but clean and comfortable. The service provided by the staff is exemplary. The breakfast was great, the dinner in the restaurant was even better.

Only stay in this hotel if you have a car... And if you don't, rent one, so you can stay here.

Great value & service, ideal Paris base.

We stayed here for 3 nights at the end of our holiday so we could spend a couple of days in Paris. We arrived at 9.30pm, after a long drive, the welcome & information we received at check in was perfect. We had a family room for the 4 of us, with a double bed & a double sofa bed for the children, which was spotless with a modern bathroom a lovely big shower, although my husband struggled slightly with the height of the shower head but then he's 6'2 so that's not unusual! We ate in the restaurant after checking in, which is a very short walk from the accommodation block to the main chateau building, & despite our lateness, the food & service was excellent.
We walked to the train station each morning which was a pleasant 1 mile walk from the hotel. There is a car park across the road from the station but the height restriction for vehicles is 1.8 metres, but we enjoyed the walk which took less than 20 minutes. Trains leave the station every 15 minutes & cost €5 return, taking between 20 & 30 minutes to reach Gare du Nord depending on the number of stops.
Overall our stay at the hotel was excellent value for money & we will definitely be using this as our stop over again next year.

Loved this hotel set away from the hustle and bustle of the city. Beautiful surroundings and friendly staff. Breakfast was fantastic and set us up for the day! Pool was a little small but good enough for a splash around with the kids and there was table tennis and badminton available, too. We would definitely stay again.

Even though I try to avoid chain hotels this was the perfect place to stay as we had family members to drop off at the airport. It's proximity to the airport was helpful and the tranquil setting was most enjoyable. The grounds are beautiful. We did not have the chance to make use of the amenities, but the swimming pool and tennis courts are a plus.

Surprisingly located hotel, up a small road which opens out to a large but not too big hotel complex. I cannot praise the hotel staff highly enough for sorting out some problems we had (not with the hotel or stay)
The grounds are nicely laid out and there are plenty of complimentary activities to keep you engaged.
You'll be pleasantly surprised by this hotel given it's pricing on this website.
Note... We have also booked and used this hotel not through this website and it's much dearer that way.

Very good hotel in nice setting

The hotel area is very nice -- with a chateau on premises. The breakfast was excellent. The hotel has good recreational facilities -- ping-pong table, pool table, computer games. There are no restaurants/cafes nearby. However, the hotel's restaurant seemed quite good. Unfortunately, we didn't have an opportunity to try it out.

Very nice place, far away from crazy Paris busy life. It was nice to come after sightseeing to the quiet hotel. I just do not understand where this hotel got 4 stars. You DO NOT actually stay in the castle, but in the house 1 min. walk from there, pool and sauna were dirty and sauna did not work untill you ask staff to turn it on (sauna took 2 hours to warm up). Hotel need some update od the rooms (carpet was dirty and very old...) I do not recomend you to stay here unless you really want just to sleep in the wuiet place... I will never come back...

Nice secluded hotel

The hotel is very secluded, which worked out well for our family. The train station is a short ten minute drive, with a 25 minute ride to downtown Paris. The hotel had a nice pool and sauna area, in a seperate building from the main hotel. The restaurant was in the same building as the pool, and was very nice. The breakfast area is in the main hotel, and consisted of a full breakfast selection. We enjoyed our stay, and gave us a quiet break from the noises of the city.

The rooms are not in the Chateau, but are in a separate building about 50m away, hence subjecting guests to the weather for meals. Rooms are big and clean. Wifi works well. Free parking. Trolley for moving baggages. Shower taps need some strength to turn and to achieve fine temperature adjustment. Helpful large-screen touch-screen in lobby for information in several languages.

We just spent 2 nights at the hotel and were impressed by how caring and personable the staff were. The hotel itself is set within a fairy tale setting of forest and wide green spaces. The restaurant is in a gorgeous chateau and has an extensive menu that includes delicious fresh fish.
I would highly recommend this hotel for families as we felt very welcomed with our children and appreciated having high chairs, a children's menu and a small play area near reception.
The staff are brilliant and exceeded our expectations.

While this is not a horrible place to stay, it was not as great as advertised. We were given a room very close to the front desk, breakfast area, and entrance. Also our room faced the front parking lot, so we had to hear everyone coming and going--early in the morning and late at night. The room was ground level so we couldn't open the window. Housekeeping didn't make up our room after our first night until we told the front desk. The sink wouldn't drain. The hotel is located in a beautiful location, but out in the middle of nowhere. This is definitely not a fourstar hotel!

Great value for money, reception staff very friendly. Good swimming pool - kids loved it. Room was clean and comfy but would say if staying for more than one night, the room would be a bit small for 2 adults and 2 children. Also be aware if there is more than one infant staying at the hotel they only had one high chair for breakfast. Luckily we had a travel one with us for our 1 year old. We stayed the night before getting to Disneyland Paris so great location and good way to relax before a full on few days at Disney!

Bit of a let down to be honest. Not sure how this is 4 stars. From the outside it is fantastic as are the staff. Grounds and area are great but inside you would not think it was the same place. Rooms are more like a minor offenders prison cell unfortunately. Z bed and cheap fittings with sprayed concrete walls. Had a nice new big TV in the room but had a fixed lamp in-front of the screen. Thats a new one on me. It was fixed to the desk so could not be moved. We also ordered room service which was expensive but then they all are at 4 stars. Trouble is, I ordered the chicken and my wife the fish which were both boiled in water so that they were rubbery and tasteless. We only stopped 2 nights there. The staff and grounds were the best thing about the place. Novotel are sitting on a potential goldmine here but have let it go.

Lovely place, great staff!

We stayed at the Chateu de Maffliers for an over nighter in Paris. The staff was very professional and accomodating. The grounds are GORGEOUS!!! We took some time before leaving to check out the grounds and there's a ton of things to do. Bikes are available for touring the countryside. The breakfast was a little on the expensive side, but it was quite tasty and they had no problem with us coming in a little late (usually they close the breakfast at 10, we got there at 1015). The food was typical French and beats anything in the states as far as a contintal breakfast is concerned. We are hoping to stay there again!!!!

Lovely Secluded Location

Excellent hotel used as a stopover prior to Disneyland Paris holiday. Easily found via Sat Nav and was a relatively easy to travel into Paris city centre in the evening. Hotel is located in a modern clean building with the restaurant and swimming pool in the old château nearby 50m. Pool was small but modern and clean although changing/showering facilities very basic. Breakfast very good in morning and had a small hot selection alongside usual continental fayre. Didn't use main restaurant so couldn't comment. Hotel staff very patient and knowledgeable as advise given was good after we decided on an impromptu visit to Paris city centre.

Ideally situated for driving North beyond Paris. Hotel rooms in separate building to restaurant, bar and facilities. Ample parking. Good food and breakfast. Nice walk in shower in bathroom, and very effective self demisting mirror!

Lovely grounds - pity hotel is not kept up to date

Novotel Chateau de Maffliers
In lovely grounds and the main house housing restaurant, bar and pool. Bedrooms in separate new building - which needs more lighting to. Bedrooms were ok, Clean and functional. Has a mini bar and Tea and coffee facilities. Restaurant looked interesting but menu so boring - we are in France - why the British menu? Over priced. Staff not very attentive. Swimming pool - Very dirty, floor slippery and needs redecorating. Could be really special. Handrail needed to get into pool. If you need a overnight stay or visiting Paris this hotel would be worth booking - but remember it is in the middle of no where - you need a car to go to another restaurant to experience real French food. There is a local train station with free car park.

A nice hotel near CDG airport

My family wanted to stay close to CDG airport on the last day of our holiday. We had a car, so chose this hotel instead of the other standard airport hotels and were not disappointed. The chateau housing the restaurant and pool is charming and the nearby accommodation is modern and comfortable. The restaurant food was good, although the drink prices were outrageously expensive.

At 7.30 am I tried to pay my bill for the bar and restaurant.The reception clerk could not operate the computer and did not know his boss' contact number. Finally they said they would take the money from my card details when the manager arrived that afternoon. All this took 35 minutes with no other guests involved. I still do not know if they will charge me for the room I paid for in advance, until my statement arrives. If they do, I don't think I will be very happy.

Good quality hotel in quiet countryside surroundings. Easily accessible to Paris if you have a car (and with secluded private parking at no additional cost).

Rooms are in a purpose built annex away from the chateau which houses the restaurant, bar, pool and function / conference rooms.

Rooms are fine and modern, and kept clean. Most rooms have a double bed with a convertible sofa bed and look out to woodland or the interior courtyard.

A number of years ago, when I last visited, the main restaurant was more self styled \"fine dining\" and over priced for what was offered. Now it is styled \"Novotel Café\", meaning you can get a good meal at a decent price, and the service was excellent (bar, restaurant and reception).

I would have no hesitation to recommend or return, but you need a car, and don't expect to walk to small local restaurants / bars

A (positive) surprise

We stayed here as a stopover n the way from Calais to the Loire and it was a pleasant surprise. Rooms etc all clean and good enough (as expected from Novotel) but there is a chateau (big house) with restaurant, pool, badminton, table tennis, a beautiful view. It's in a tiny village, not that easy to find, but a gem of a place.

Nice hotel, convenient for visiting Paris

This was a very pleasant hotel with a nice pool and sauna. We had a family room (2 adults and 2 children) which had a comfy double sized sofa bed as well as a king size double for the adults. The en-suite was well fitted and the Restaurant served excellent food (but a bit expensive).

in need of TLC

This is an hotel with great potential to be 4*+ but the rooms need to be refurbished urgently. The staff were generally friendly.
I have stayed in 3* hotels much better!
