Unexpected Gem.

Loved this hotel, surpassed expectations. Large spacious room and bathroom, beautiful decor, excellent location but the best part was the staff. They were ever friendly, helpful and a pleasure to deal with. Special mention to Laurence (? My spelling may be off.. apologies) at the front desk … Superb.

The personal we’re not friendly. Upon check in the other couple were given an upgrade at no additional cost. When my wife asked the receptionist was it possible to get an upgrade as welll she was very short with my wife saying she would have to check with the manager. We went to our room which was very small the phone wrang and my wife answered and was told an upgrade was not possible and hung up. Rude people! Never stay here again.

Great Stay when the air-conditioning can be used

The hotel is in a great location. It is clean and well equipped. The staff are friendly and helpful with excellent English.
Our only discomfort was no air-conditioning. The temperatures were quiet high during our stay and we would have likedxto have used the air-conditioning, especially at night.
Apparently the hotel's system was still on winter mode and so the cooling could not be used. This meant we had three bad nights of sleep. We were either too hot with the doors to the balcony open or kept awake by the revellers below.

The room was smaller than I expected.
The receptionist on arrival had no eye contact.
We used the Bell Boys luggage rack and took ourselves to our room.
The towels were thin.
Plus point was that it had a local car park.
We would not go back.

Always a nice stay!

This was my fourth stay at this hotel, located right opposite the Grande Plage, right near the casino if you are into gaming. They also have a car park available right up the street, less than 100 yards. The room is large and cozy. In short, well appointed. I booked one with full ocean view, which was very soothing at night. I did not have breakfast this thing, (see pic attached) but did so in the past and it was OK. Just didn't seem worth the money this time around. The hotel location is perfect, giving you a quick access to plenty of food options.

Perfect location - hotel not amazing

Hotel was ok. Very hot room that smelled of cigarette smoke (we are non smokers). The window didn't lock and we were on the first floor. The woman at reception said someone would look and no one did. Not very helpful day time staff on the front desk. The hotel is in a great spot for the beach, restaurants ect so really can't beat that. I would have been happier if the air conditioning was working but other than that fine for a few nights.

When I stay in Biarritz, this is where I am. Last time, my \"partial ocean view\" was MORE partial. So, that was a kind of a letdown as I had to stand by the window to see it. My last stay, I could see it from the desk, which was quite nice, as I spend most of the day working from the room then. It feels like you can take it the beautiful scenery more so. This being said, it is no more than a 3-minute leisurely pace down the stairs to get to the casino (if inclined to go), which is right opposite the beach. Biarritz has a lot to offer and the neighborhood is beautiful. The hotel sits right in the middle of it, easy distance to restaurants, clubs, beach, shopping... You will be hard-pressed to find better accommodation with a comfortable bed and nice-sized bath at a better price... Room is very clean too. Breakfast is quite basic; offers nice ocean views.

We loved our stay here. Great, friendly staff, who welcomed us late after arrival. Our train arrived just before 11:00 pm and there were no taxis at the \"gare.\" We called the hotel, and they arranged for a taxi. They also let the company know that there was a line of people from the recently arrived TGV waiting for taxis. Small town! Breakfast was lovely, and the Art Deco building beautiful. Ample rooms and nice bathroom. The hotel rooms could use a big of cosmetic sprucing up, but no big deal.

Really wonderful hotel - very dog friendly - he was allowed everywhere! Nothing was too much trouble for the staff they provided fantastic service. Parking close by. Excellent location - very near the beach restaurants and the shops. Would definitely visit again and thoroughly recommend this hotel to anyone
especially if you have a dog - its so nice to be somewhere where your pet is welcome. Just an aside the restaurant does not have a restaurant for dinner but has breakfast. There was not one restaurant in
Biarritz that turned us away with our pet. A truly fantastic experience.

Everything was easy and nothing too much trouble. The location was excellent, a short walk to everything and about 20 metres from the bus stop to San Sebastián, which made my journey so much easier. Hotel was located very centrally in Biarritz - Literally just across the road from the Grand Plage/beach and close to all attractions. Staff were nice and friendly and gave us a nice welcome pack on arrival (including a bag). The only (slight)criticism was that the air conditioning could not be turned on in the rooms as it was not peak season despite being 28 degrees (we were there in early May and we were told it was being turned on the following week). Room was nice and clean. Breakfast was nice and had a good selection. Overall a nice stay and I would recommend it if staying a few days in Biarritz

Great views!

I had a room with ocean view, which was well worth the small extra. You get your own little secluded areas, where only three rooms are separated from the main hallway. You also have two doors separating you from that small lobby you share with the other two rooms. And finally, you get a very nice ocean view. A/C worked well, and room was very comfortable and large, even by some US standards. The bathroom was very comfortable. Housekeeping was very nice and quite helpful. Located minutes from the beach. Parking was just a 2-minute walk away in a restricted lot that requires a special code to get in. Great security gate that keeps everything safe. And you're smack in the middle of restaurants, with no fewer than 50 of them within a 10-minute walk. Really worth it! Front desk was very nice as well. On the flip side, parts of the room looked a tiny bit moldy, but that may be par for the course when windows are left open with the salty air and the humidity. However, everything was very clean, and I definitely would recommend this as a place to stay when visiting beautiful Biarritz, one of my all-time favorite areas in the whole wide world.

Fairly friendly staff and an OK hotel - a bit dated and shabby in some respects (paint peeling off outside of the windows) despite the refurb inside. But you are paying a premium for the location - not much else - possibly the same everywhere in the centre of Biarritz.

The hotel is in an excellent location in Biarritz. The bedroom was of a good size, with a lovely en-suite bathroom. The air conditioning was effective. We stayed for a week, the bed linen was changed daily, and was always pristine comfortable linen. We had a \"side view\" of the beach- which meant hardly any view. The windows are dirty and you cannot open themwhich is a shame. The odd thing was that it seemed that the Hotel made very little effort to entice us into the restaurant and bar- breakfast was very overpriced at 17 euros each. The bar area was always very quiet or deserted

Really great value for the proximity to the beach and overall center location. Everything about the place is fine, not spectacular, but fine, clean, roomy enough etc. The location makes it easy to navigate towards the lighthouse in one direction or the Cotes de Basque in the other. The Grand Plague is across the street and steps down.

Pretty good but paper cups in the room for tea?

The hotel is situated very close to the beach and on the whole was ok. Mercury is a little mean with the tea and cups in the room. One sachet of breakfast tea fir an English couple in paper cups is not really acceptable. On the whole staff were friendly and cleanliness good.

location location location!

Chose this hotel primarly because the location - really accross from the Biarritz Main beach.
ACCOR hotels does it decently well (breakfast was good) - the hotel itself is a bit dated - and the facilities need to be refreshed a bit. If you are someone who likes the newest (and willing the pay the price) then skip - but if seeking good compromise between facilities - friendly staff and excellent location - then go for it!

Make sure you get an ocean view room. The exterior and lobby may be a little less than perfection, although there is nothing wrong with them, but the rest of the hotel and the rooms are very nicely updated and decorated. The front desk staff was friendly and helpful. I would definitely recommend the hotel. You can't go wrong.

Wonderful hotel in the heart of Biarritz

The hotel was located right in the center of Biarritz, within walking distance to everything. The hotel is older but well taken care of. The room was huge! And the view from the hotel room looked like a post card. With the windows open, it was a little noisy but the double paned windows blocked out all the sound when closed. And the drapes made the room nice and dark for sleeping. My only complaint is that there was only one tv channel in English: BBC News. Otherwise, I would highly recommend this hotel and would come here again.

Fantastic value hotel, great location!

Really enjoyed our stay at the Mercure Biarritz Centre Plaza and was surprised by the comfort and quality of the hotel for a 3 star rating. We could not fault the cleanliness. Breakfast is pricy, so visit the cafe behind the hotel or the brasserie in the square and get a nice breakfast for a fraction of the price. The location was brilliant and the bus stops are 30 secs walk away + you are right on the seafront.

Un séjour le temps d'un week-end pour un spectacle à la Gare du Midi. L'hôtel est top, la literie très confortable, le personnel agréable, et le petit déjeuner parfait !
Nous nous sommes garées à proximité sans aucun problème, et nous aurions bénéficié du parking de l'hôtel si pas de place à l'extérieur. Nous avons tout fait à pied, tout était parfait !

Nous avons logé dans la chambre 203 avec vue 🌊, lors de check in la réceptionniste n'as pas été dans la position de livrer des informations sur la ville de Biarritz et son éclairage de Noël, Dans la chambre 3 defauts, placard ne ferme pas, papier toilettes du 1ere prix, quelques cheveux dans la salle de bain, en tant que professionnelle cela m'échappe pas. Literie exelent, déco splendid pour un hotel Artdeco, le petit déjeuner peut etre améliorer avec un peux plus de choix ,Pains, charcuterie, fromages, pensé également que la ville de Biarritz est conue pour son chocolat, ca pouvez etre un plus soit dans les chabres de luxe ou en boisson au petit dejeuner, pas celui fait par la mashine a Café mais prépare comme il faut par le service petit-déjeuner.
Sinon je apprécié mon sejour.

Très bien situé en face du casino… donc près de la mer et des galerie Lafayette,pour vous situer. Propre , bon déjeuner. Belle décoration. Lors de notre séjour il y a eu des températures froides d’où la coupure d’air climatisée. Mais la chaleur est revenue et pas l’air climatisée. Option d’ouvrir les fenêtres mais Biarritz le week-end, c’est la fête beaucoup de bruits tard la nuit ou bien nettoyage de rues. Si vous fermez les fenêtres.. ouf il n’y a plus de bruits mais il fait chaud. L’ascenseur, si la porte de verre n’est pas fermée comme il se doit elle demeure où elle est J’ai du descendre les 3 étages. Pas la fin du monde mais il me semble qu’aujourd’hui il y a moyen de pouvoir améliorer ce genre de situation. En voyage, ne pas bien dormir est épuisant. Nous payons pour avoir un gîte mais si les hôtels ne respectent pas les services offerts pour un soit disant coût, ceci ne me regarde pas en tant que consommateurs. Vous devez offrir le bien être en tout temps à votre clientèle.

Trop chaud et pas de solution satisfaisante

Probleme de chauffage beaucoup trop chaud dans la chambre (24 degres) personnel peu reactif qui a comme seule solution de proposer d ouvrir la fenetre (d ou bruit la nuit) ou de mettre un ventilateur • expérience tres moyenne nous ne reviendrons malheureusement pas - dommage car l'hôtel est joli et que nous etions enthousiastes a l'idée d y sejourner
