The property is great. We had the newly constructed room and it was fabulous. The pool is great temperature and very clean.
Definitely take the beach shoes.
Buffet is amazing.
The place is very quiet, no night life at all, everybody disappears after dinner.
Very family oriented.
Majority of the guests are from Holland.

Had an ocean view, but the room was outdated and needs updating. The pillows were old and worn out. They use half bedding on the king beds which I had never seen before. Power was out for most of my last day there, no a/c or Wi-Fi. Some of the staff were pleasant and outgoing, while some looked like they were not happy with their job. Great snorkeling at 18th Palm.

The room we stayed in was pretty new and modern, however, the seven nights we stayed we asked for the room to be clean two times and both times the cleaning was not done properly,in the balcony was not even touched. Our coffee. Mugs were left there in the sand on the floor was not look like it had not been cleaned in a long time.
Our kids were walking up by the construction sound every morning around 7:30 AM
The staff was friendly, but not well informed.
From the first day, we arrived and being exhausted for our trip we were told that we are not allowed to use and instead of Make us feel welcome an offer us water or something.

Loved everything....but especially that we could dive and snorkel right from resort! Food, cleanliness, pool, beach, staff...all spot on. Town was a 10 minute walk to shop or watch cruise ships come and go! People are wonderful and never felt unsafe!

Staff was nice. Food options were the same boring buffet over and over. The electrical outlets were not like the us. Had to buy an adaptor to charge our phones. No dish towels. No face towels. Did not have beach towels ready. No towels in the workout room. Had to get a separate key to go to the gym. Would like to not have to wait at the front desk for a key each time we used the gym. We just weren’t impressed and will not be returning.

Nous avons passé un magnifique séjour en famille! Le buffet était vraiment excellent, beaucoup de choix et tout était délicieux. J’avais lu certains commentaires disant que le personnel n’était pas très souriant, mais de notre côté nous avons trouvé tout le monde extrêmement gentil, accueillant et serviable.
Une mention toute spéciale à Alicia au buffet, une vraie perle, qui nous a servis bien au-delà de nos attentes. Son professionnalisme et sa gentillesse ont grandement contribué à rendre notre séjour encore plus agréable.
Nous avons eu un petit pépin avec notre chambre à l’arrivée, mais l’hôtel a réglé la situation le jour même et a été très compréhensif face au contexte, ce que nous avons beaucoup apprécié.
On voyait aussi qu’ils étaient en train d’aménager un petit espace pour les enfants — ce sera vraiment un bel ajout une fois terminé, car c’est la seule chose qui manquait au resort pour être parfait pour les familles.
La seule chose que je recommanderais aux familles avec enfants : apporter des souliers d’eau lorsque vous visitez Bonaire!
Nous recommandons sans hésiter et nous reviendrions avec plaisir! 🌴✨

There was not enough staff to accommodate the guests. Food was flavorful but no variety at all.Every the food was pretty much the same. Food often was gone, finished and we are talking early into the opening of the buffet. Many days there were people with a one day pass and often were rude and made it so the hotel guests had no chairs at the beach or pool and made the service for drinks and food even worse. I have been to this resort multiple times. But definitely won’t be back. Worsted experience out of all my visits. The other big issue is that most of the staff did not speak English . Very hard to communicate.

The room was quaint however the entire 5 days there was no warm or hot water so it was challenging to take a shower after the beach and swimming pool. The staff was nice although activities were not really communicated to know what was available.
There was confusion around check out, payment, and luggage pickup. All of which is documented within their system yet confusion during checkout and departure.

The location is between airport and cruise terminal- perfect! Taxi ride from airport without any prior reservations only $15. It would be nice if resort would provide “free shuttle “ since it is like 10 minutes drive..
The guest dest stuff was great and very helpful!
We stayed in older section of the resort, but it was the perfect location! Next to the pool, restaurant and beach! Room was a bit outdated, but seems like the resort is already did renovations for the rest of the property, and only few buildings left, so maybe next time, it would be very modern!
The best thing is the room was a close dry rack! For Dive resort- it is amazing little item that makes entire stay more enjoyable!!!! I hope after the renovation, the property still provides that in the new rooms( and they look so nice and modern)
The Dive shop is amazing!!! Everything logically and strategically located! Thank you Dive team! Noah, Steve, Reome( I probably botched his name- Sorry!!) Meara and Lau are very helpful no matter what time of the day it is!!!

I was surprised that restaurant opened to everyone- with wristband at the front desk, but all inclusive was well worth for us.. at the time we stayed, price for the breakfast was around $24, lunch $48-50, and dinner approximately $85
The only our disappointment was that not the front dest ( in lost-found bin) or even ther gift store- did not sell “ travel essential” we had to walk to town..

Room was clean, it had ample space and our view was good. We stayed in the 2-room rooms. This wasn’t a bother but not having a method to contact the front desk is very odd being so far away. Maybe consider having a small service desk for this area. Also, our elevator didn’t work, but we didn’t need it. Restaurant food was good. Bar drinks were good. Pool can get busy during the day.
It would be nice to have a pool table for teenagers to handout at. I would have like to look out over the upper balcony area, maybe that can be an open bar / hangout when not in use. Workers were all very nice and easy to work with. We will recommend this hotel to others.

Place is in renovation since last year … there is construction everywhere. Very dirty yard. Rooms are clean, front desk staff was arrogant, one of the girls ask me to dress up in the lobby, while I left the pool to request a new key because my was not working.. this is a Caribbean Island and the pool is right by the lobby . Her attitude was unacceptable. Buffet is simple , restaurant staff are great !

We had a truly wonderful time at the Plaza. From the moment we arrived, we were impressed by how beautiful the hotel grounds were—the pools were sparkling and inviting, and the restaurant had a lovely atmosphere that made every meal feel special. There was some construction happening during our stay, but it was managed very well and never disrupted our relaxation or enjoyment.

The food was consistently good, and even though the property has only one restaurant, the menu offered enough variety to keep every meal interesting. We were pleasantly surprised by the different options available each day.

Overall, our stay was incredibly relaxing. We felt well taken care of, enjoyed the peaceful environment, and left feeling refreshed. We would definitely recommend this place to friends and anyone looking for a comfortable and enjoyable getaway.

We had a wonderful vacation! The property was beautiful and our apartment was lovely. The dining room was so nice and the food delicious. We never used the pool, but the beachside chairs were lovely. We loved snorkeling, but getting into the ocean water was a challenge. The last day we used the stairs used by the scuba divers, so much easier, and safer for “seniors”!

Plaza is by far the best resort in Bonaire. We stayed in 2 bedroom lagoon apartment with 2 adults and 2 young adults. 2nd floor (had an elevator but we didn't use it)
1. Snorkel, SUP, and kayak free (check in/out at dive shop). Make sure you turn it in the night before you check out!
2. The room is amazing, spacious, and well decorated. View of the canals/lagoon was beautiful.
3. Beso bar and pool in the new section had a great staff, and we never fought for a lounge chair or pyramid lounger.
4. Main pool was picturesque. Bar staff were top notch. Always ready to offer up a cold beverage or cocktail with a smile.
5. Snorkeling: go to the left and snorkel by the steps (you'll know when you see it) for the best fish.
6. Rent a car. We used Easy Car Rental just down the road. The girl who owned the spot was great. Hooked us up short notice with a low-deck Tacoma for 3 days. Had it brought to us. She also rents golf carts. Highly recommend!
7. Food at the resort was top notch.
8. Bring water shoes... hard bottoms are a must
9. Wifi worked flawlessly. Everywhere in the resort was great, speeds were fast enough for facetime calls home, downloading/ uploading pics, and texting. Download an offline map on Google maps and you'll be able to do everything you want, get anywhere you want, all without using data.
10. Can't say enough about how great the staff was for us
11. Downtown area is a little far in the heat (100% worth doing).

The resort is going through some construction but we stayed in the completed area and it was very nice. The pool is nice. The cabanas and umbrellas get reserved quickly. Food can be repetitive but it was nice ambiance at the only restaurant. Watch out for the seagulls at breakfast

Amazing property. Extremely friendly and helpful staff. Great location!! Easy to rent a scooter right from property and scoot to town or take scenic drives up and down the coast. Gorgeous! The snorkeling right off the resort beach is some of the best so many fish species and the coral was in pretty good condition given the state of coral globally these days. Super convenient to set up dive trips from the resort too. Restaurant was really really good. If you like fresh fish and sushi you will love this food. Even so they had great beef, lamb and chicken options every meal too. Every dish is prepared with quality ingredients we never ate so healthy on vacation!! And the pool is absolutely one of the top pools we’ve been to on vacation. It is huge! And plenty of chairs and umbrellas at oil or beachside. Never have to wake at 4am to save a spot! We look forward to seeing the continued renovations for updating too. They are doing a GREAT job with the decor it is so upscale and just beautiful. We hope to return again soon I hope!! You will not go wrong with the plaza!

I'm very glad I chose to come with my son as we got Open Water certified last year and this was our first set of non-training dives. We did six total and should have probably done three more as there are so many dive locations you can't get them all in within a five day stay. You will want to come back to Bonaire to get all the dives you can.

The staff that work the dive shop are great. Super friendly, great personalities and awesome guides. Would book with them again if I return to Bonaire.

The resort is the best on in Bonaire for location. Very clean and very well put together. Only draw back is it is extremely limited for people who like to spend most of their time at the actual resort. My wife would have been bored if she came as she doesn't dive or gamble.

Only one restaurant which is buffet only. The food and seating is excellent, but after a few days it is repetitive. There is a ton of construction going on (which you don't hear) so I'm hoping they are building other options like most all-inclusive resorts have to offer.

On the same note, no events or shows occur there. There is a casino which is in a weird location that does have the only local poker game at 9pm every night. One roulette table, I think three other table games, no craps, tons of slots.

Stayed in the \"old rooms\" but I got probably the best room in the whole place. 2102 I stayed and the view from the balcony is probably the best room view I ever had. Pool, ocean, and restaurant all viewable.

Booked a 2 bedroom room on Expedia. It was just recently constructed- clean, modern, spacious with even a small kitchen, washing machine and large patio. Beds were very comfortable and the AC unit quiet and more than sufficient. Room was cleaned nicely daily. Pleasantly surprised that our booking was all inclusive for meals. The food here was superb with fresh fish, fruit and an impressive desert selection.

Construction is ongoing. So there is some noise and some of the rooms need renovating.

Common areas such as pool, lobby, and dining area carried an appealing modern island decor. The small reef just outside the hotel was easily accessible and contained a good variety of fishes. Great place to learn to scuba as the waters were calm and there is a separate dive pool.

I would recommend this hotel.

When you walk into the Van der Valk lobby, you think - AMAZING this place is going to be great. Subtle tropical scents, huge pieces of art, a boutique store, wall fountain. Then you see the pool beyond and it's impressive. Huge sunshelf with loungers in the water, cabanas with no reservations, beautiful lighting and landscaping. And the beach is simply impressive, snorkel right off the short and see intact coral and many types of sea life.

Then you get to the food and drink at the one restaurant (yes, you can get snacks and drinks at the pool bar, but it's small and crowded so I'll leave that off). The food here is also incredible. Fresh fish every lunch time, and sushi options for dinner. The best beef I've ever had at an all inclusive and lamb on several nights was outstanding.

No on to the not so great. The room was the start of the - what did we get into. It was huge, straight out of the 1980s/1970s. Many outlets were hanging out of the walls and not tight. Our shower consisted of a shower head and a pile of broken glass bricks which only partially kept the water from spraying all over the bathroom. There were no robes, as promised from the room overview. There were multiple mosquitos several times in our room, as the seal around the door wasn't tight. The door to the bathroom wasn't a fit so it didn't close correctly. I realize they're in the process of upgrading the rooms, but it was not a luxury experience, more horrific to see once you left the lovely lobby.

Beautiful property and very friendly staff. But, we requested an airport shuttle and champagne in the room upon arrival and they dropped the ball. They required reservations for the dinner buffet, but it was open seating. Breakfast time had champagne at the hostess table, but they were warm. The food was fresh and the selection of seafood was amazing. Water bottles weren't refilled in the mini fridge unless requested. Paddle boarding, fish ID class, and driftwood painting were all very fun! Very nice burthday trip!! With some minor tweaks, it could be 5 star. I would definitely come back!

Food was great, especially, if you like sushi. Parking isn’t great, due to construction right now. First time visitors should get a truck/4x4 if they want to go anywhere. Taxis are way overpriced, and there is so much to see.

The refurbished areas were beautiful! The older rooms were very spacious but the shower set-up did not make sense the faucet faced out towards the sink and would spray the bathroom. The ceiling in the bathroom was not suited for moist environments. The gym was great with new equipment but you had to remember to bring a towel from your room as they did not supply them in the gym. Unfortunately the spa was not completed. Communication was not great, my sister had ordered an airport shuttle but no one arrived to pick us up. She also ordered champagne to her room for her bday but that didn’t happen. The pillows on the bed were so uncomfortable. Food, atmosphere, and music were great! The snorkeling was epic!! Had a very relaxing vacation

The snorkeling from shore was amazing. Wide variety of fish of different size, and every day different ones. Nice variety of food at each meals, all delicious. Constant breeze so even though it's hot, it doesn't feel muggy. Only downside is they need more loungers at the beach. If you don't go down early, everything is reserved even though the resort says it's not allowed.

Do not recommend this property. With the price, I was highly disappointed. It is VERY outdated. Our room was very old and smelled, mattress was brown and covered by a sheet and 2 thin blankets. really my only complaint was that it was the same food/Menu all week. Everyday the same things to pick from. I have never been to a all inclusive resort where they don't change the buffet. Front desk weren't always helpful. No one to showed us to our room so we walked in circles a bit with our luggage to FIND our room. The rooms were nice, Clean and Large. The bar staff were all nice and kept our glasses filled. hotel was absolutely beautiful.

The new shopping is not open though looks like it should be. It looks fantastic and dumfounds me that it is not open. The new dive shop has limited hrs and will ultimate be great. Overall I love this place even more than before. I’ll be back!

The food was great. The property had the best snorkeling out of all resorts we've stayed at compared to aruba, the Bahamas, Jamaica or Mexico. We saw turtles, eels, giant lobster, puffer fish and much more right on th property! The staff was friendly. They are process of updating rooms and some ground areas, so some areas were a bit outdated, but it didn't bother us. The grounds are still beautiful. There was no construction noise or any of that going on. It's close to the airport and conveniently located away from the downtown area. Our one and only complaint were the pillows. The mosquitos were terrible here, but the resort can't really do anything about that. These little complaints wouldn't stop us from returning and as a matter of fact, we may return again this year! Would definitely recommend.

We were housed in the older buildings on the property. Our room was dark and severely outdated. The bedding was atrocious. The shower was soiled and no cover on the drain hole. The bathtub had a dirt ring around it. The light on the bathroom mirror didn’t work. The one-ply toilet paper was ridiculous!

The service in the one restaurant was awful. We had to secure our own water carafe everytime we ate and never received any service while seated. Had to run someone down just to get a mimosa for breakfast.

The spa at the hotel is not open so unable to get any spa treatments at the resort.

The swimming pools were ice cold and not clean.

We paid extra for an airport transfer that did not meet us at the airport so we had to pay for a taxi. We had transfer secured for our departure and the front desk put us on what we thought was our ride only to get to the airport and find out it was another taxi that expected fare to be paid. I asked for a refund of our transfer and still have not received any refund.

It was sure a wonderful stay. The villa’s just amazing! We had only one problem with the doors inside the villas.The doors do not close properly, and it becomes uncomfortable, for example, when you’re in the bathroom or taking a shower. It would be great if these doors could be fixed.

Great place to relax, unwind. Loved the smaller quieter pool area, perfect for couples without kids. Food was pretty ok nice variety. Bar staff were terrific! There is quite a bit of construction and areas that are a little run down but overall rooms in good order and clean.

The property was recently upgraded and is very pretty. The food was incredible although only one main do I g room they switch options for Buffett often and had great choices. My only criticism would be they could use little more staff. We often got our own drinks at the dining room bc nobody checked on us. Also there was nobody to help with luggage checking out.
But great stay overall!

Overall the week we spent was amazing. The whole family agreed. Will definitely visit again and recommend to others.

Food was excellent with the AI package. Everything was prepared fresh. The a la carte wine service was pretty rough. Some better training for the staff in that area is needed. A specialty restaurant would be a nice addition. We have high expectations for food service and they were exceeded in most every case.

The newly renovated areas are stunning but the construction was a negative. better things are ahead for next time!

The snorkeling reef out front is incredible. A big bonus for guests. On the negative side there is no real beach but that’s typical for reef areas. It’s what prefer and look for.

We came to dive and the island didn’t disappoint.

The resort staff in all areas were very friendly helpful and efficient.

We stayed in the new apartments and enjoyed the more private setting and particularly the quiet infinity pool and bar for it.

The modern style of the new apartments is nice but the layout of them is odd and does not work well. Our two bedroom only had one very small toilet by the entry door. The shower area had no toilet at all. Not a great set up for a unit that sleeps 4. Also it had a big well equipped kitchen and dining area. But we didn’t use it because the resort is all inclusive. So that space could have been put to better use (proper bathroom).

Tremendous experience. Highly recommended for a luxury dive vacation

Marvieni Sommer was amazing! A true Bonairian in warmth and hospitality! She made all our excursions amazing! I wish there were more Bonarian guests so we could experience more of the essence of Bonaire but the staff was amazing and friendly. The place is beautiful and the activities are very fun! We also absolutely loved the steel pans the singer that sang in papiamento! Also we loved the great island music that was played at the bar! We will definitely visit again.

The property is located in a nice neighborhood. You could walk to restaurants, but if you are getting all-inclusive no need. I recommend renting the golf cart and driving to Jibe City, 1000 steps, Flamingo sanctuary. Bring water shoes for the beach entry area. Good snorkeling and shore diving from the property, as well as dive shop on the premises. They are upgrading the property but not intrusive.

Staff, food and rooms are beautiful!! I am a scuba diver and dive shop with \"Spider\" and \"Yousef\" are the two staff divers I highly recommend. Rent a golf cart and visit the town, especially nice shore diving just south of the resort- list of shore dive sites and a freighter Himmler to dive on. Salt Pier is fun diving too.Chef made food-fantastuc. Visit Gio's I e cream shop has the greatest home made ice cream. Dark rich lactose free ice cream too. I still miss it. LOL.
