The hotel was right next to the beach with the ability to kayak to other islands directly opposite. The hotel staffs were very friendly and spoke fluent English. There are a selection of shops and restaurant within walking distance. The only annoying thing I found is after every housekeeping, mosquitos often find their way into the room.

Perfect place to stay with wonderful staff.

Just returned from the most amazing stay here for the second time. The staff could not have been any nicer.
Just the perfect location and such a relaxed atmosphere.
The breakfast is amazing and you can have anytime during the day which was part of the reason we returned.
We booked a villa this time which we probably wouldn't do again as the pool was not easy to get in and out of and the outside area was in the shade all day but we will definitely return.

Loved The Chill! Our room was the Ocean Suite. Absolutely perfect! It was the only room with direct ocean view so we’ll worth the price. Pool gorgeous. Food good. We loved walking out reception area and having many restaurants to chose from.

Fantastic place!

Perfect stay! This hotel is modern, yet has a personal touch. Its comparable to other best boutique hotels I stayed around the world. The only things I would consider is giving lighter duvet, and changing orange watermelon at breakfast. Three huge swimming pools. Close to restaurants and shops. Gorgeous sunset. Not suitable for beach walkers as the beach is tiny but access to sea is without problems. The service is very warm and friendly.

The place is beautiful and 5 star on all details, the staff are amazing and extremely kind and attentive, and the food is gourmet style. This place is amazing . We stayed during the rainy season and it was still great. The breakfast is delightful and the staff is great. The room was spacious and clean to perfection. The pools are beautiful and really big. The beach is gorgeous too. The location is close to bars and restaurants if you don’t feel like eating at the hotel. Brand new bikes if you want to use them but rented a moped across the street for 150 bhat a day . We will be back at Xmas and will stay there again .

Fantastic relaxing stay. Although it is quite a lot of travelling to reach the hotel it is well worth it. We stayed in room 215 which in my opinion is the best in the hotel. The pool area is beautiful and there were always loungers/beds available. The food was delicious and the spa offered great treatments. 10/10 would recommend.

Stylish mid-size hotel with great staff, good food and excellent spa. We really enjoyed having a room that opened directly onto the pool. All-day a la carte breakfast is a great idea — flexible and much less wasted food than a buffet. The hotel is on Bang Kae beach, a small beach but beautiful setting (great sunsets) with lots of good restaurants in easy walking distance.

The night we arrived our room smelled very bad of damp and everything in the room was wet. The staff moved us to a new room for one night and managed to sort out the damp problem by installing a dehumidifier. After this our stay was perfect. Breakfast was the best on our trip. You can order you breakfast at any time during the day.

I was very impressed with this small hotel in Koh Chang. Very nice clean room, breakfast amazing with great views towards the sea and beach. What I really liked was you could have breakfast anytime of the day.
Staff very attentive and friendly.
Grounds very well kept and very nice greenery around the grounds complimented by nice pools etc
Only comment beach is not best for swimming as it’s rocky and reef. Nice for looking out to sea and relaxing.

No. 1 choice out of island getaways in Thailand

It's my ranking no. 1 hotel out of the whole island getaway trips in Thailand so far. Love the infinity pool, steps to the beach, the TV is clear, the wifi is fast, the room is bright, the food is really tasty (gotta try the chill beef burger).
The down side is the beach is more of rocky type and be careful when u swim out without a wading shoes as my husband got stung by the sea urchin.

Everything throughout my stay was exceptional. I loved the hotel’s design and facilities. Nevertheless, I was really disappointed when I entered the spa and there was no staff, after receiving no answer for ten minutes I left. Later, when I called it didn’t seem any interest in the person who answered the phone in me buying a package as she didn’t give me any options regarding the schedule. Lastly,when I wanted to pay for some charges at checkout, the staff told me that the cc machine was not working which in my opinion was unacceptable in a hotel of this category.

The highlight of our trip

Wow. The Chill is a gem on Koh Chang. A smaller hotel (under 100 rooms) with a lot of style and and comfort. Great pool, great beach. Helpful, attentive staff that clearly enjoy working there. Got one of the best therapeutic massages of my life in their spa. Delicious breakfasts and dinners. They have evening events on their beach Wednesdays and Saturdays. Highly recommeded.

Wonderfull hotel at small private beach

We had a Sky Jacuzzi suite with a big balcony, couldn’t see the sea because the view was blocked by a tree, think only the 3 rooms closes the beach has sea view.
The room was very spacious and clean, very silent air con and good Wi-Fi.
The breakfast was wonderful and it was possible to eat it whenever you liked, nice when you are on holiday. Never understood why hotels served breakfast from 6 to 10 am, as most people like to sleep late.
Staff was very kind and helpful, we rented motorbike though reception, and they also offered us shuttle bus to the ferry.

Nice luxury hotel right on the beach.

Nice clean luxury motel style with outdoor corridors. Rooms overlook the 3 pools. I swam in the Ocean and in the pools. Low tide is a bit rocky. Lovely sunsets and ocean island views from the bar/restaurant. Staff was wonderful especially Ann in the restaurant.Food was all fresh and good. The area is mixed with all the usual Thai street businesses and luxury resorts. If you do one activity make it snorkeling! Trekking was nice but very humid and hot in the jungle. Many beautiful waterfalls to visit an d swim below.

I feel we were lucky to select such a great hotel in the best location, especially after travelling around the island and seeing so many run down resorts. The Chill is a lovely setting with its own beach and so many varied cafes and bars to choose from. Rooms are very spacious, staff all fantastic and would definitely go back. Great breakfast by the way. My small gripe is the cost of alcohol at the beach bar, 170 baht for a small Chang ( $7 AUD) so we drank out. Thanks to all staff who made our stay a great one for us, cheers.

We stayed in a Pool Villa - the middle one of the three. It was perfect, and we thought it was very good value.
The staff at the Chill Resort are some of the best in Thailand. They are friendly, helpful and very keen to make your stay the best that it can be. The hotel room and grounds are clean and tidy. The restaurant is very good and the a la carte (all day) breakfast is a great experience. And the coffee is GOOD. We would thoroughly recommend this hotel to visitors to Koh Chang.

Definitely the place to go if you want to chill pu

We stayed during the off season so there were very few other guests. That said, the revolt was fully staffed. The best thing about Chill is the staff. They are knowledgeable, friendly, and very helpful. We stayed in The Chill Villa which was very comfortable. I took 1 point off the rating because the bed was on this wood frame that extended 1 foot past the mattress. I kept stubbing my toe on it. The all day, all you can eat breakfast was great. Just remember that you only get it once a day.
The pools are clean and well maintained, as are the grounds. The beach is great for shell collecting but not swimming. I wish the beach was a little cleaner, but it wasn't bad. Overall we had a very nice stay.

Quiet and not crowded location

Very solid hotel in a quiet location. The rooms are a bit sparse but overall an enjoyable place to stay. The WiFi was functional without problems although they make you reconnect about every two hours. The small beach is nice and not crowded although the sand is coarse with many rocks/coral. The location is not the greatest for nightlife but that is not what I was looking for. Included breakfast was served all day and was À la carte, not buffet, which is a nice change of pace. No rush to wake up and get there before it shuts down! I also recommend Ziva Italian restaurant down the main street to the left. The pizza selection and red wine by the bottle was good.

Stayed here for 4 nights as a solo traveller in a poolside terrace room. The room was clean, comfortable and in good condition, good size room. The bed was very comfortable. Storage space for clothes a little small. Excellent swimming pool. Property on a very beautiful beach. Nice breakfast / dining area with decent breakfast. Staff are very friendly & helpful. Lovely, quiet area. Very relaxing stay at a hotel appropriately called The Chill. I'll be back.

A very nice break

Stayed in a room on the ground floor with access to the pool. If you choose this hotel and you have small kids then choose room 101 till 104. The pool will only be 60cm deep. If however you are an adult and like to swim then ask for a room 105 upwards. The pool outside your room will be 1.20m and it will be easier to actually swim. This hotel has attention to detail. Nice is the all day breakfast and this is off a menu and served at the table.

BEST Beach-Boutique Resort & Spa EVER:

We had a delightful stay in this gorgeous hotel with a beautiful private beach, several pools and an outstanding service. Even if not all of the staff speaks or understands well english, they have been very helpful and attentive always. We booked a room with direct pool access including breakfast, which was the best choice for a couple like us.
Something unique i‘ve never seen before: Breakfast \"à la carte\" from 7am till 10PM; yes right you can choose any time to order your breakfast; get you some of that! \"à la carte\" means you can choose a variety of bread -I mean beside the ordinary toast u get as well real bread like german multigrain, italian ciabatta or french baguette- different kinds of eggs, sausages & assortet cold cuts of meat. of course they offer different thai-dishs with shrimps, chicken or pork. yogurts, muesli and other vegetarian selections including all sorts of fresh juices -which you can also order as smoothie- are not missing too. Further we had the opportunity to enjoy a traditional thaimassage in the Chill Spa, which was decidedly magnificent and truly recommendable.

If Buddha want's we will be back next year for a longer stay, THANK YOU to all THE STAFF @ THE CHILL!

This resort completely lives up to it's name!We have travelled in Thailand over the last six years and stayed in some lovely places bu this is the best. The resort is modern, peaceful, the staff are just lovely, the rooms comfortable. Also there are many perks such as a bed turn down service every evening including aromatherapy burner and ice bucket, complimentary water and fruit at the pool daily, all day breakfast with an extensive menu(my favourite the eggs benedict!), dvd and book library, push bikes for rent and also close to 2 amazing eating places a Mexican and Moo4 a French bistro and La Filous for great cocktails.You will not be disappointed!

Lovely place, small beach, family friendly

We had a lovely time for our honeymoon. Staff were great, polite and very helpful. Manager was very helpful and available.
We were upgraded to a villa for a night and that was a blessing in disguise, as we decided to keep the villa for the rest of the stay just because it was lovely. Way better than a single room.
You get your own small pool and access to the big pool straight from the villa.
Breakfast was good and the entire atmosphere was just wonderful.

The best service you will find anywhere

The staff here are absolutely first class. They really go the extra mile from the moment you arrive till the minute you leave. Lots of thoughtful complimentary things like free cocktail party thrown by the manager, afternoon tea leaving party, fresh fruit and water when you come out of the sea. The breakfast is incredible and you can have it at any time of the day. Truly a first class hotel and a wonderful place to chill. 10 out of 10

Definitely not a Luxury Resort

Between the shoddy plumbing (our room leaked a gallon of water from out of an electrical socket one morning and another morning they turned the water off at 10:00 am while my wife was showing), the noisy construction in the unit above us, the lack of a bar (the restaurant served alcohol, but was clearly no bar), the lack of several advertised services because \"July is low season\" and the inability of 95% of the staff to speak basic English; this is far from the luxurious resort it claims to be. It is more like a sleek-looking motel with a nice pool and access to a beach.

Paradise in Koh Chang

I have been going to Thailand for over 20 years. I know it well and have been all over this fabulous country. Koh Chang is now my favorite place to vacation in here in Thailand. From the airport to the ferry ride and the complete stay and return, has been the most pleasant experience. The Chill is a beautiful property on a beautifyl beach. The staff is very friendly and during our stay if we needed anything we had it in minutes. The property is local to many massage parlors and convenience stores for what you need. Local restaurants are there, but within walking distance only the \"Friend\" seafood restaurant was very good. We ate there 3 nights out of 5. We love the place and will return.

Beautiful resort, wonderful staff

The chill resort itself is stunning. No matter which way you look it's just beautiful. Mountains to the back, beaches to the front and endless pools and tropical gardens throughout the middle. While there is plenty to do on the island we spent most of our time relaxing at the resort with good food and great cocktails. The breakfast is included in your room rate and is huge with a massive and very diverse selection to choose from AND can be eaten at anytime of day (so no need to get up early to take Advantage). The rooms were always clean with a generous nightly turndown service that included lighting an oil burner. To say the staff were wonderful would be an understatement. Everyone, including the cleaners, front desk staff and restaurant crew were so polite, helpful and genuinely nice people. While we were there on our honeymoon it seemed a perfect place for all with families and older couples all enjoying the resort harmoniously. We hope to return for our anniversary with my husbands kids in the next 2 years.

All in all looks amazing hotel to look at pool, etc but needs to sort out language barrier as staff never understand what your asking for even though we are English. We found it hard and so did other Europeans visiting the hotel as they were also speaking English. (very frustrating) I would of tried ordering in Thai myself if had option on menus which was also hard work as have you an I pad to look at menu sounds good but was massive menu and had about 7 to 8 sections then even alcohol drinks then wine came under different sections NOT on same page. Also food was aways Luke warm and just ok. We ate out nearly every night bar 1 first night and our anniversary which was a chambulls as asked for set menu and no one understood what we wanted so courses all can wrong and had to ask for soup as didn't come and desert as also again didn't understand extremely frustrating. Would stay again just wouldn't eat in hotel

A Wonderful Place in Every Way

We can't fault this hotel. The setting is wonderful, with a long stretch of crystal clear pools down towards the quiet beach and the main infinity pool. As the hotel is small, it literally does have that 'chilled' feeling throughout.

The room was spacious - we stayed in a Splash Pool Access room it was lovely to be able to lie on the double bed on the veranda sipping ice cold beers. The bed was comfy, the room was clean and every thing worked!

One of the nice things about this hotel is the thought that they put into the small things; one example is that each guest receives a complimentary breakfast per night of their stay - however, you don't have to race to breakfast before 10:00, instead you can enjoy the extensive a la carte breakfast menu at any stage of the day providing that the kitchen is still open.

The staff in reception and in the Chill Café can't do enough for you, from running to the local currency exchange to change money for you, to even giving you a lift to your next hotel on the island. We even received a voucher for a complimentary bottle of wine to enjoy during our stay, which we didn't use, when I handed the voucher back in on check out, they looked slightly shocked and insisted that we choose from their selection before whisking my partner away to pick up an ice cold bottle to enjoy at our next resort.

This hotel is worth every penny, and we will, without doubt be returning.

Honeymoon in Koh Chang

Wonderful hotel with its own beach and spa. The pool is great, and every meal we had was delicious! Staff was very friendly and helped arrange transport and excursions for us. Only minor gripe was an issue with the jacuzzi tub in our room, which they couldn't fix while we were there. Would return in a heartbeat!

A great family getaway

We had a great stay at the Chill resort with 2 little kids (ages 3 and 5). The hotel staff arranged pick-up from the ferry, gave us a warm (with cool towels and drinks) welcome, and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The restaurant is great both for breakfast and lunch/dinner, providing a variety of Thai and Western food at very reasonable prices. Even kids, who are not big on fancy foods, had a great choice that they enjoyed (kids had a free ice-cream with every meal!). :) The location of the restaurant was perfect - next to the pool/beach area, so you could enjoy your food (or snacks) while resting by the water. The staff was very polite, warm, and welcoming. Rooms and the whole hotel area was very clean (in spite of construction going on), and the beds comfy. Was great to have an extra bed on the balcony. :) We had a room on the 1st floor, but if you want easy access to the pool (straight through the door into the pool), I recommend ground floor rooms. Also, villas looked fantastic with their own private little pools. The hotel has a lovely SPA/library building, where you can get a book or a DVD and play games, also use a computer (providing you don't have a few with you)... :) The hotel provides a list of activities that they will book for you, and also there are quite a few restaurants/massage places in the vicinity, if you fancy a change in the scenery/menu. Overall, we all enjoyed everything and will be coming back. :)

Just fabulous!

Stayed seven nights in a sky suite. Beautiful, clean, nicely presented. The staff were attentive and nothing was too much trouble. Housekeeping every day to the highest standard with turn-down service, ice bucket and oil & candles for the Jacuzzi delivered every evening at seven.

Breakfast is served all day and was delicious with lots of choice.

Special mention for Celine, the Guest Relation Host at the front desk. She has such an attentive and professional manner, and is a valuable asset to the hotel. Not to mention the warmest, friendliest smile you could ever hope to come across. Thank you, Celine, you made our stay perfect.

Wonderful place to CHILL.

Wonderful... for my wife's birthday, I ordered a cake and it was complimentary. The only downside was the signal for internet was poor. Lovely place, great staff, and delicious food. The breakfast, which is included in our room price could be eaten all day... great selection and a treat. Definitely will stay there again.

The Chill is a great resort for a get away. We were there during low season, which was lovely, without so many people around. The service was very good, with a number of small touches, such as a small bottle of mosquite spray being left in the room each day. The menu was a great mix of thai and western and every dish we ordered over a one week period was delicious. Thanks The Chill.

We stayed at The Chill for two weeks from January 27 till February 9, 2014. This was my second vacation on Koh Chang and based on my personal review of dozen of the island hotels, I think that The Chill is one of the best hotels on the island with its pros and cons. PROS: good location on the Kai Bae walking street with several minutes walk to various cafes, restaurants, shops, thai massage spots, etc. Hotel breakfast is certainly one of the pros! You can get your ala carta breakfast any time during the day up till 10:00 pm, and food selection and quality is very good including european and thai cuisine. In general The Chill restaurant is very good, the best food we had on the island. The room was cosy and nice, we had pool access room. The only concern is that the water in the swimming pool is cold and we preferred to swim in the sea rather then in the swimming pool. The beach is nice with sandy coast, however at the second part of the day water goes away and it's not very deep water. In general the beach and entrance to the sea is ok, but not perfect. Beach facilities are good. Also hotel provided cold water and fresh fruits to guests resting on the beach and near the swimming pool during the day, which was very nice. Rooms are provided with towels, bathrobes, flip-flops and beach bag, umbrellas. Also there is an aroma lamp in the room with the candle and aroma oil turned on every evening by the staff. Rooms are provided with four bottles of water daily.

t was a pleasant stay with you guys, nice pool, nice view, nice design, nice staffs. I will definately return if I have plan to Koh Chang again.

The only con I have experienced is that the toilet could be more clean. The cover of the toilet was kind of turing yellow probaly corroded by bleach or something.

At first I was not sure about this hotel. No chest of draws to put 10 days of clothes away, no desk for computer. Staff did not seam very friendly, often staring at us and not very many smiles. Beautiful, relaxing modern hotel.

Beautiful hotel in koh Chang. Looked exactly the same as the images. I was lucky and was upgraded to a jacuzzi suite which was beautiful. Large and spacious. Comfortable bed and huge balcony.The Infinity pool was stunning. The beach directly on the property has a gorgeous hammock to lay and watch the amazing sunsets. The food in the hotel was good and not particularly expensive.
I would definately return to this amazing hotel. It's nice that that it feels like a boutique hotel as there aren't loads of rooms.
Perefct location in kae bae Beach which is a really nice area - chilled and good for families.
my only critiscism is that as a solo traveller I booked for only one person. My friend wanted to stay for one night of my stay and i was informed that as she wasn't registered she would be charged 5000thbt for the night - which was ridiculous - as the room slept upto 2 people. I didn't think this was a fair policy.
Other than that i couldn't recommend it enough.

Modern Boutique Hotel

Sent an email to Hotel to request for connecting room for my family; but received no reply to confirm our request. After several days of not hearing from them, I called the hotel personally to make the request. The hotel reservation staff acknowledged my request, and confirmed it verbally. I had wanted to make sure my request was heard, so I asked them to send me a confirmation email. But days passed and no email was received from them. Fortunately, when we arrived there, they did give us connecting rooms as requested.
We feel that the reservation department just was not professional enough.
The few Thai front desk staff were not as warm and friendly as many Thai hotels we had stayed in, except for a lovely European girl who was working at the hotel.
The room floors were rather dusty- we wonder if the housekeeps cleaned them properly. The bathroom candle oils were also not disposed off properly in the bathroom.
We has dinner at the hotel seaside restaurant , and the food took 1 hour to come to our table. The waitress told us there were only 2 cooks in the kitchen and there were at least 10 occupied tables. However, the tribal show by the beach was excellent, the barbecue dinner was quite a treat..
There are some shopping and casual dining within walking distance of the hotel, so it is located on quite a convenient location. The Hotel's Infinity pool is lovely, resort is tastefully designed.
The hotel needs to improve on some aspects, otherwise our stay was quite pleasant.

A beautiful location and a nice

A beautiful location and a nice view on the sea but overpriced for the service we got there. The room was nice and big but the small things which you expect for this high price were missing (e.g. bath towels for the beach, aroma for the whirlpool, etc.). The staff at the restaurant was not really willing to serve but happy to play with their mobile phone. During breakfast, nobody was asking for coffee, after you order the coffee, you also have to order the milk (these are the small small things which should work and also work in cheaper hotels). We will sure not go back there, even the place and sunsets were great there.

Es war alles super. Das Frühstück war mega und hat keine Wünsche offen gelassen. Der Pool mit dem Meer dahinter ein Traum. Das Hotel isrvruhig gelegen, aber um die Ecke eine große Auswahl an Restaurants zu Fuß ereichbar. Perfekter Aufenthalt für uns. Als einzige Kritik könnte man sagen, dass sie besser ein „Adult only“ aus The Chill machen sollten. In den ersten Tagen waren. Nur Pärchen vor Ort und es war eine tolle entspannte Atmosphäre. Dann kamen Familien mit Kindern und es war nicht mehr wirklich schön. Unruhig und laut. Für Kinder ist das Hotel aus meiner Sicht nicht gut geeignet. Es gibt keinen Strand und keinen Spielplatz und auch keinen Kinderpool.

Hotellet är underbart, fina rum, trevlig personal, fräscht poolområde och väldigt fin och god frukost.
Hotellet ligger nära mönga restauranger, butiker och drinkställen.
Enda minuset är att där är knappt någon strand utanför, och är det lågvatten går det inte bada i havet pga väldigt stenig botten.

Aivan fantastinen hotelli. Aamupala parhainta pitkään aikaan, saa valita koska menee ja lista on kattava.
Henkilökunta vähintään ystävällistä ja palvelu sujuvaa.
Olimme ensin kolme yötä ja kun emme raaskineet lähteä niin pari yötä otettiin lisää. Hotellin uima-allas on iso ja sieltä kelpaa katsoa auringonlasku jos toinenkin.

Bedre hotell finner du ikke!

Et fantastisk fint hotell! Vi bodde der i 10 dager og stortrivdes! Hotellet ligger perfekt til midt i hyggelige Kai Bae. Vi opplevde Kai Bae som det beste stedet på Ko Chang. I Kai Bae er det en rolig atmosfære, mange gode restauranter - både vestlige og thailandske! Og så The Chill Resort da! Bedre hotell tror jeg ikke du finner på Ko Chang! Utrolig vakkert! Alt er tipp topp! Vi hadde rom i 2.etasje (rom 215) med utsikt mot basseng, restaurant og hav! Rommet var stort, lekkert bad og flott balkong. Alt på hotellet - både ute og inne, er rent og pent! ALLE ansatte er ekstremt hyggelige og ønsker det aller beste for deg! Frokosten er nydelig og du kan nyte den når du måtte ønske. Du velger ut fra en meny alt hva du måtte ønske og så mye du vil. Hotellet har en liten privat strand med solsenger. Litt steinete i vannet, men det gjorde ingen ting! Hver ettermiddag kom personalet rundt med frukt eller is!
Aldri problem å få solseng, verken ved bassenget eller på stranden. Hotellet er såpass lite at det var en veldig rolig atmosfære der! Ja, vi hadde det bare helt fantastisk!

Wir waren 13 Tage im The Chill und es war einfach rundum perfekt. Es ist genauso paradiesisch, wie es auf den Bildern aussieht. Frühstück gibt es von 7:00 - 19:00 Uhr, a la carte. Alles wird frisch zubereitet und es bleiben keine Wünsche offen (Bikinifigur ade). Das Personal ist herausragend, anders kann man es einfach nicht sagen. Immer gut gelaunt und ein Lächeln auf den Lippen. Thailändische Gastfreundlichkeit wird im The Chill großgeschrieben. Manche bemängeln den kleinen Strandabschnitt, aber man geht ein paar Schritte weiter am Strand und schon hat man deutlich größere Strandpartien, also keine Grund zu meckern. Die Gartenanlage, sowie die Poolanlage sind topgepflegt. Ich würde das Hotel immer wieder buchen und werde sicherlich wiederkommen.
P.S. Die Betten (wir hatten zwei Queensize-Betten) sind super und perfekt vom Härte-/Weichegrad.
