Must be amazing once in the past.

Property is huge near the forest and greenery which also means lots of mosquitoes. Must have killed over 10 in the room before I can go to sleep. Main pool has broken tiles which has not been fixed and it's dangerous for guests. Booked a Thai language class and the staff missed it because she was performing massage for another client. Sounds like they use staff for multiple purposes. Love the daily yoga though and the teacher was lovely and engaging. Breakfast was pretty good with lots of options. They need to keep up the maintenance.

We loved the pools and the view from the hotel across the beach and out to sea. The staff were incredibly lovely and the splash pool and slide a hit with the kids. The morning yoga was wonderful the restaurant food was good too. The only downside for us was that the property is in need of some renovation. Broken tiles in beach pool, proves missing their thatching, our outdoor shower was unusable as filthy and in poor condition. The indoor shower was a handheld standing or sitting in bath so not ideal.

First of all Amazing staff from General MGR, Front desk staff Khun Arnon, Khun Fon and my room Service Khun Davin..You guys are Amazing.I really appreciate your help.
This hotel is in perfect locations closed to all convenient stores and shops and restaurants.
However prepare for a walk approximately 150m from the hotel to main walking streets.
Beautiful swimming pools and Jacuzzi, The staff keep all areas very clean including the benches area. Amazing views!
All staff will make your enjoy and welcome with smiles and respect. Highly recommend everyone.
Btw, Greatly appreciated the General MGR for making me the noodles soup. This is a kind of General MGR that everyone wanted.

The first room I stayed in at Centara was very day and smelt very damp. I mentioned this to the front desk who were incredibly helpful and moved me to another room, which was wonderful. Generally, a lovely and relaxing stay at Centara and I would definitely return.

Luscious garden- lovely!

Centara is very nice. The resort has been well maintained, and is a little piece of paradise.
The beach is nice. The resort is set back off the street a little (as are most resorts in the area) so it’s better to have transport, taxi or motorbike instead of walking. You can however easily walk to restaurants and hotels on the surrounding beach, as well as mini-marts etc. loved our stay here and would return

Great hotel right on it's own section of beach, well set out with meandering walkways in an idealic tropical setting. Far enough away from the hustle & bustle of the main street but close enough to walk to a variety of off site restaurants, 7 eleven stores etc. Definitely would stay here again

Lovely bungalows in great gardens. There are two pools and plenty of loungers. A very peaceful area.

Plenty of Choice for breakfast and all food is covered which is good.

The food and drink is in the restaurant and mini bar in the room is expensive but the supermarket sell cold beer and soft drinks and you can bring these back.

An excellent resort and would stay again.

Nice place with intricate wavy walkways and cabanas submerged in beautiful greeneries. Some fixtures and furniture inside cabanas a bit dated. Breakfast buffet, Thai buffet, and Seafood buffet are excellent, but regular a la carte thai food in their restaurant not so great.
Watch for mussels' conglomerates in the water - they have very sharp edges. They hurt If you step on them.
The most disturbing thing for us was the fact that the resort has 5-6 dogs running on the beach - defecating and urinating on sand during low tide... Wondering how it affects the water cleanness... Does the ocean take care of it? Everybody was swimming anyway.

Hotel location is good. Fronts and bell boys were pretty good too. Breakfast and the dining room is fairly good, but need to be more clean especially on the ceiling and lighting fixtures. Many electrical appliances such as electric kettle, hair dryer were damaged and risky to use them, which it might caused an accident. Shower drainage was bad without improvement after reporting to the front desk. The rattan chair and stool was in a very poor condition. Many rattan were broken and cutting skins when seat it. Jaguzzi in both pools many were out of order, need more maintainance cares. Over all are below Centara standardized.

This is my second stay at this resort. I have to say Centara has improved the service dramatically. My check in - check out experience was perfect. The room was nice. The pools also very nice. I only ate the breakfast in the hotel, and in my opinion it is decent, but not extraordinary. My favorite thing about the hotel is it was the only one that offered cancellations up to the day before. Also the pay later option was nice. The beach massage was nice. The rooms are adequate. The landscaping is phenomenal, but because of all the nice water features i recommend you take mosquito spray. Free wifi is good, i would like to recommend they offer free mini bar like a lot of other hotels in Thailand now. Overall, great stay, and i would definitely stay there again. Also worth mentioning, the gym was one of the best i've seen in a hotel.

Centara Tropicana Resort was a lovely resort and we really enjoyed staying there. We had a lovely time. The resort was planned and maintained beautifully with lovely gardens and ponds. Our room (Deluxe Room) was nice and tastefully decorated. It was, however, slightly dark, and there were some areas in need of improvement (particularly furniture and the bathroom). Many staff were really nice, most were polite, although some were rude and impolite. The hotel was right on the beach, which was nice. It was really nice to lay on the beach in the sun sipping Happy Hour 2-for-1 cocktails! However, the beach wasn't quite what we were expecting: the sand was always damp. The sea is also very shallow, even when you go far out. The beach is very rocky so we recommend scuba boots if you want to swim in the sea. The sea and the swimming pools were both so surprising warm, though, even in the morning! The breakfast was quite okay, but we ignored previous reviews and ordered dinner a la carte: yuk! Big mistake! Food and drinks in the resort are obviously priced higher than in the nearby town. However, we were disgusted at the price of water in the resort (45b +service charge +VAT) compared to the town (7 baht in Tesco inc VAT). There are many nice restaurants in the town where we would recommend for lunch and dinner. Wifi was good around the resort and there were plenty of sockets in our room for charging. Overall we enjoyed our time at Centara and were sad to go after only two nights!

We're a Thai-American couple so traveling to Thailand is our regular trip every year. We like the environment of the resort. Very quiet and tropical as it's trying to be. However, we feel that we were arranged to be with other thai guests in one area which was quite separate from other foreign guests who stayed with the same room type. We were not sure if this was intentional but couldn't help thinking of it given what we saw.

The room was very nice and well maintained. The only bad thing in our room was the AC thermostat that didn't work correctly.

Most surprising is the cleanliness of the beach. It was very dirty when we were there. We were so disappointed that we wanted to compare it with the public beach area. We don't think that the hotel couldn't afford someone regularly picking up trashes in the beach every morning.

Nice stay. Far from the town.

The resort is beautiful. But the sea was not very good to swim in because there were lots of tiny insects flying over by your face. Also you need to walk about a mile to get to the main road and even if you did, its pretty quiet area. So if you are plan to stay in the resort with your family, it can be a nice choice.

We really enjoyed our stay at Koh Chang Centara. The staff and service was great. We booked a bungalow, and it was spacious and private. The hotel breakfast fit all of our needs. The option of booking day trips or airport transfers through a company set up right in the lobby was very convenient. Their price was even cheaper than we found out in town. The kids enjoyed playing on the beach, and the water was really calm for them to get in the ocean. There weren't many kids here, and we didn't use the Kids Club, but we would return. The only slightly negative part is that the ocean floor right in front of the hotel has a lot of coral, but we moved slightly down and got in the water in front of the hotel next door and that was fine.

Stayed in a superior room. It was clean, though feels a bit old and worn out for a resort (old CRT TVs and creeking wooden floor). Service was good with no disappointing experiences. Gym is very basic with 3 cross trainers and few weights. Spa was quite small and better to get a massage around the beach area for much cheaper. Breakfast is extensive. Good beachfront area, sand it quite clean though lots of smaller rocks/shells during low tide, so may not be practical. Location is more of a family area along Klong Prao beach, quieter area along the main road outside the hotel

The garden and surroundings are great, really beautiful and tranquile , but the staff is very badly trained in customer service and the restaurant food is really bad. Wir waren das erste mal in diesem Resort und uns hat es sehr sehr gut gefallen. Es ist wunderschön gelegen, direkt am weitläufigen Sandstrand. Bars und authentische Thai-Restaurants in Laufweite. Meer ist flach, sandig und ruhig. Das Personal ist äußerst bemüht, wirklich sehr sehr freundlich und das nicht \"aufgesetzt\", sondern natürlich. Einfach nur lieb. Durch 2 x Happy Our (12-13 und 16 bis 19) und weitere Promotions bleibt man auch gerne mal im Hotel zum Sun-Downer und Spa! Gerade das Spa hat uns als Pärchen ganz toll verwöhnt; logisch ist das nicht umsonst, aber z.B. 2,5 Std. Vollprogramm (Ganz-Körper-Scrub, Sauna-Gang, Aroma-Öl Massage, Face-Cleaning. Face und Kopfmassage gesondert) in toller Spa-Atmosphäre für gute 60 € p.P. ist jetzt wirklich ein starkes Angebot. Unser Fazit: Absolute Empfehlung für das Centara

Das Centara hat augenscheinlich seine beste Zeit hinter sich. Es müßten umfangreiche Renovierungen durchgeführt werden. Die Zimmer haben teilweise keine Duschen sondern Badewannen. Die Zimmer sind zu dunkel und haben kaum Schränke. Die Betten sind gut. Bei den Pools sind die Holzplankem zum Teil defekt, so dass Verletzungsgefahr besteht. Die Anlage hat einen dschungelähnlichen Garten, der aber teilweise ungepflegt wirkt. Das Personal ist sehr hilfsbereit versteht aber teilweise kein Englisch. So zieht sich das durch das ganze Hotel. Essen waren wir auswärts, so dass wir nur das Frühstück bewerten können. Dies war i.O. Aber auch hier waren Kleinigkeiten, die das Bild trüben. Nur 1 Teesorte, immer das gleiche Angebot über 3 Wochen. Kannten wir bei 4* Hotels so nicht. Alles in allem können wir das Hotel nicht weiter empfehlen

Sehr grüne, gut gelegene aber in die Jahre gekommene Anlage

Eingebettet in einem mehr oder weniger gepflegten tropischen Garten, direkt am flach abfallenden Strand (mit unmittelbar angrenzend, von Einheimischen geführten, sehr leckeren und preiswerten Strandlokalen) und auch nahe dem Ort gelegen, verbrachten wir 2 erholsame Wochen in einem Deluxe Zimmer und Gartenblick.

Die Lage ist perfekt und das Personal ist sehr freundlich und immer hilfsbereit. Das Frühstück hat eine recht grosse Auswahl. Leider beschränkt sich diese im Wesentlichen auf asiatisches Essen. Die Auswahl für ein europäisches Frühstück ist eher klein (1 Sorte Scheibenkäse und 1 Wurstsorte, wenig Auswahl an Broten) und immer gleich.

Nicht gefallen hat uns das Zimmer. Dieses ist sehr abgewohnt (Schimmel im Bad, ein Duschvorhang mit Löchern und Stockflecken, Steckdosen die aus der Wand hängen usw.) und sehr dunkel (auch bei elektrischer Beleuchtung). Auch riecht es muffig. Die Strandtücher waren meist zerrissen und gehörten somit längst ausgetauscht.

Fazit: Die Hotelanlage hat sehr viel Potential, hat aber die besten Zeiten schon hinter sich und ist somit in vielen Bereichen renovierungsbedürftig.

Dejligt stort hotel, hjælpsom personale. Hotellet ligger i super skønne omgivelser.
Helt ned til vandet. Der er tidevand så sidst på dagen er vandt trukket langt ud. Men gå til højre ved vandet ca. 200 m så er der super badeforhold. 🙂

Der vorab mitgebuchte Transport (Van/Fähre) hat sehr gut geklappt. Auch der angekündigte Zimmer-upgrade hat sich noch gut angehört. Allerdings war das Zimmer (Nr. 227) nahe am Strand aber hinter dem Restaurant, nahe an einem höheren Genäude mit einer Bretterwand getrennt und ziemlich dunkel. Das Hotel hat offensichtlich 133 Zimmer, wovon angabegemäß 36 belegt sind. Gemäß der Rezeption war kein Zimmer mit einem Doppelbett mehr frei und uns wurde das Zimmer 118 zugewiesen, indem die Einzelbetten zusammengeschoben wurden. Auch i.O. Neben einer Dusche unter freiem Himmel war im Inneren eine tiefe Badewanne mit einer Dusche! Das Frühstücksbuffet war o.k., aber auch nichts besonderes. Das Personal könnte oft freundlicher sein

Der optische Eindruck ist sehr schön. Die Anlage besticht durch einen tropischen Garten in dem vielen Bungalows eingebettet sind. Dazwischen sind kleine Gewässer angeordnet, die wie Bäche wirken aber stehende Gewässer sind. Meine erste Befürchtung ob dieses Anblicks hat sich auch sofort bestätigt: Ein Eldorado für Moskitos! Since angesichts der Dengue-Fieber Gefahr sollte man keinesfalls vergessen sich sofort nach dem Duschen flächendeckend mit Moskitospray einzunebeln.
Strand: direkt neben dem Hotelstrand mündet ein Fluss ins Meer. Leider fließt dessen Wasser mit merkbarer Strömung erst einmal am Stand entlang. Das Wasser in der Strömung ist am Vormittag ca 1,30m tief am späten Nachmittag nur noch 30cm. Dahinter gibt es einen sehr flachen Abfall ins mehr, was heißt, dass am Abend ein sehr breiter Strand entsteht.
Morgens dagegen reicht das Wasser bis direkt an die Hotelanlage, so dass das Restaurant am Strand durch eine Anhäufung von Sandsäcken geschützt werden muss. Dafür hat man offensichtlich alles benutzt was man finden konnte. Einsprechend hässlich sieht es aus wie eine Müllkippe aus ausgedienten Reissäcken, Zementsäcken etc. mit etwas mehr Sinn für Ästetik könnte man einheitlich Säcke mit einer dezenten Farbe verwenden.
Unterkunft: das Bad ist eine Katastrophe! Was als erstes auffällt ist der unangenehme Abwassergeruch! Das Einschalten der Lüftung machte es nur noch schlimmer!

Das Zimmer ( Deluxe Cabana) hatte einen Balkon, aber keinen Ausblick. Es war von einer Bretterwand umgeben.
Zudem roch es ständig unangenehm nach der daneben liegenden Küche oder Kloake.
Ansonsten alles top!

The room we got smelled like mold. Even when we asked to change room our new one still smelled like mold. Other than that the room was nice, the bed a bit hard but comfortable. The service was really good, nice breakfast buffet and really good spa. The beach was ok.

Trevlig resort. Fin bungalow. Stor frukostbuffé med både asiatiskt och europeiskt utbud. Mycket vänlig och hjälpsam personal. Hög servicenivå. Framför allt vill vi nämna Ton och Kik som verkligen förgyllde våra frukoststunder. Underbart Spa och massage. Fin pool. Bra strand som inte försvann vid högvatten. Förutom hotellrestaurangen fanns det flera restauranger med mycket god mat och låga priset ca 5 minuters promenad från resorten. Kommer gärna hit igen.

Okej värde för pengarna. Hotellet är lite äldre och lite nedgånget. Hotellet ser mycket bättre ut på bilderna än i verkligheten. Rummen mörka och lite fuktiga. Tydlig doft av fukt (och sannolikt mögel) i rummet. Men hotellet är rent och personalen är mycket trevlig och service-inriktad. Nära till fin strand. Helt okej frukost.

Rien à redire du Centara Koh Chang Tropicana Resort, nous avons passé 20 jours idylliques et reviendrons probablement.
prendre un Bungalow / Cabana plutôt qu'une chambre si vous pouvez vous le permettre.
La plage est très belle avec coucher de soleil.
Attention, l'hotel convient probablement mieux aux familles qu'aux couples en recherche de solitude. Mais la plage est vaste donc pas de soucis pour les personnes qui souhaitent être tranquilles.

Bonjour, les infrastructures de l’hôtel sont très belles, au milieu d’une nature luxuriante et il n’y a rien à dire de ce côté là. À la réception en revanche ils ne sont pas réactifs, en tout cas pas comme nous le souhaitions. Nous avions besoin particulièrement de trouver une garde d’enfants plusieurs heures par jour pour nous soulager, et ils n’ont jamais pu répondre à notre attente. Soit parce qu’ils ne parlaient pas anglais, soit parce que tout allait tellement lentement que rien ne pouvait aboutir. Sinon le personnel est très agréable mais à part le restaurant de l’hôtel et la plage il n’y a rien à faire aux alentours. Pas même un marché artisanal. Globalement nous étions plus exigeants.. cela vient peut-être de nous qui sommes habitués à plus de services moi-même travaillant dans l’événementiel. Hôtel familial certain mais qui pour rivaliser avec la concurrence devrait augmenter ses possibilités de service. Il n’y avait jamais personne au restaurant le soir manque d’ambiance et encore une fois de garde d’enfants plusieurs autres clients de l’hôtel m’ont relater la même expérience. Très bel endroit, bel hôtel d’accord mais un manque de prestation de service globale.

L'île de koh chang est un joyau, malheureusement trop de béton sort de terre vers Kai bae, white sand ou sur la route avec de nouveaux hôtels parfois d'un mauvais goût certain! le Centara a su s'intégrer intelligemment avec ses \"cabanes\" parfaitement disséminées sous une végétation généreuse; seul le bâtiment central est en béton, mais d'une hauteur acceptable; confort, personnel à l'écoute (nous avons été gênés par une clim un peu bruyante et un autre bungalow nous a été proposé) jolie piscine en bord de mer, petit déjeuner copieux et varié: tout les ingrédients sont là pour qu'on passe un bon séjour: et ce fût le cas un grand merci au staff
